For the last months, I haven't faced any problem to upload pictures from Lightrrom 4.3 to my Flickr account, but today I receive the following error message :

Somebody can help me ? What's wrong ? What can be done to solve this issue ?

  • Color space from lightroom to flickr

Can anyone help me with this question....having developed raw images in lightroom, I then may publish some of them on my flickr account.  When these images are exported directly from Lightroom to Flickr, are they automatically exported in sRGB?....especially considering that Lightroom is a ProPhoto RGB color managed application.  I ask this because I know that people may look @ my images in non-color managed web browsers, like Internet Explorer, and if the images are exported in the ProPhoto RGB color space, the image colors will render poorly on that non-color managed web browser.  Are they automatically exported in the web friendly sRGB??  Thanks for your comments:)

Perhaps you could help me with another question.  I always shoot in raw and process using ProPhoto RGB throughout my entire workflow.  However, 5 years ago, I shot in Jpeg.  I couldn't tell you what colour space my camera was set to then.  When editing those JPEGS in Lightroom, in what colour space should I apply to those images when I send them over to Photoshop?  I know JPEGs already have a colour space applied, but the camera I used then is long gone and therefore can't remember if they were shot in sRGB or Adobe RGB.  Also, whatever colour space I do use when exporting from Lightroom to Photoshop, I should set up Photoshop's working colour space to match the image's profile, correct?  So, should I apply sRGB or Adobe RGB to my JPEGs when going from Lightroom to Photoshop??  Thanks:)

Once you've made all the LR corrections you want, right click on the image and chose Edit In Photoshop.
If Photoshop does not come up as the default external editor, go to LR>preferences>ExternalEditors tab and chose PS as your external editor. Once you make your edits in PS, be sure to SAVE (not SaveAs) and the file will go back to LR and be included in your catalog.
Hope the adobe translator works on my reply - it worked fine on your message :-)
    Cheers,
    Tom

  • Two-way syncing of Lightroom with Flickr?

I've been using Lightroom with Flickr for a long time. Some degree of two-way synchronization between the Flickr plugin (the Adobe one that comes with Lightroom) and Lightroom is possible. For instance coomments are downloaded to Flickr. However there are some strong limitations on this plugin:
    (1) Problems arise if you have a lot of Flickr photo sets then you may not want to keep all of them listed in Lightroom but you may want to update them after you post them to Flickr. For instance if you discover an error in a name or want to retouch a photo. This is especially the case if you move to a new computer or do a major upgrade and lose the photo sets listed in the plug in.
    (2) If you import photos from another library where you have set up a Flickr album then that album does not get imported to Lightroom in the Flickr publish module. The connection to Flckr is lost!
I'm in no way suggesting using Flickr as a backup but it would be useful to be able to link to existing albums in Lightroom and to locate existing files in the current library or list them as missing so that republishing is then possible. If anybody knows a way of doing this then please reply.
Currently I'm using Lightroom 4.3 on a Windows 7 PC.
    Thanks
    Marcel

Success! I think I have gotten to the bottom of this now. With the latest version of Jeffrey Friedl's Flickr plugin you can indeed populate both the sets and groups.
The link provided by Victoria to Jeffrey's blog allows you only to populate the "photostream" collection in the publish services of Lightroom.
However further down in the settings of the jf Flickr plugin there is a part entitled:
"Sync set/group membership for photos already part of this publish service".
It gives a warning about this being beta and undocumented, so to backup catalog before trying.
I did this and synced nearly 7000 photos in Flickr in a lot of sets that it automatically added and located the vast majority of them in my Lightroom library, which contains about 45,000 images. It all took maybe half an hour to run, so it was slow (even with a fast internet connection) but worked! I am a happy camper!
A bonus that I was not looking for but discovered is that this plugin will also sync with Flickr groups.
The version I used is http://regex.info/LightroomPlugins2/releases/flickr-20130324.298.zip
Thanks Victoria and Paige for all of your help
    Marcel.

  • Probléme de connection, Lightroom 4.1 vers flickr

    Bonjour,
Celui-ci me crée un autre message d'erreur "Security error" Are you sure that your system date and time are correct ?.
    Bien cordialement.

This bug, in a related way, has been noted by several users some time ago …
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/999503?tstart=30
and was reported as a bug a month ago during the release candidate period …
    http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom_4_1_rc2_a_cr_or_lf_n_the_m iddle_of_a_caption_causes_failure_to_connect_to_flickr
Although the above mentioned bug is raised specifically in relation to “Breaks” in the caption text I believe it may be symptomatic of either generically poor XML information encoding by LR when talking to Flickr or poor / incorrect use of Flickr Api’s which cannot cope with trivial complexity in the caption field.
    – in either case it needs fixing with some priority in my opinion, but possibly the philosophy of the on-going Flickr plugin support needs fixing too.
The LR Flickr publishing service has not been maintained very well in my opinion even when fixes may sometimes be trivial.     Perhaps Adobe would do well to employ or contract with JF for such plugins in future.    I use the excellent SmugMug plugin as the yardstick by which I measure the Flickr plugin.
A fix should also be treated as priority because the LR error message takes aim at the reliability of your internet connection which may cause some to erroneously try to chase down non-existent problems with a perfectly good infra-structure or OS / Firewall configuration – that is seriously bad advice for a caption related LR bug and has scope to seriously compound the problem for the user!
Adobe, you have a responsibility to fix this before people mess with their reliable setups.
Sorry, I am not aware of any work rounds to your problem with this and suspect it may be a windows only problem (please confirm if not).
Although not entirely exactly as per your problem (I believe it is generically the same) you may wish to add your vote to the above mentioned problem report or raise a new one.

  • Lightroom and Flickr ID feature gap

I'm confounded by Lightroom and its plug-ins' lack of support for Flickr's photo-ID.
Flickr photo-ID is a unique 10, 11, or 12 digit number assigned to a photo when it is uploaded to their site.
The number is used in Flickr URLs and by 3rd parties like wikipedia and wikimedia   http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=233397357&size=o  and Apple's Aperture Flickr ID meta data field.    ( The id=233397357 is the Flickr photo Id number.)
Why is this useful?  Just type that ID number into a Google search, don't include the word Flickr or ID, you will see that Flickr ID is referenced by at least ten different websites that Google searches!  Wouldn't that ID be useful information to have in your Lightroom metadata?
The schemes used by Lightroom plugin developers seem to rely on things in the file names or metadata that can change, (creation date, upload date, filename) When contacted, the LR plugin developers say they can't do something that Apple and the Aperture plug-in developers have been doing for years. Admittedly, it's not an IPTC defined field, but we have plenty of custom fields to use.
The Flickr photo-ID doesn't change if you change filename, caption, add keywords or comments, sync metadata, or do any post processing (including cropping) - other than replacing the file from your desktop.  Which seems to me to be safe so that, for example, a URL pointing to the picture above by the Wikipedia article, doesn't suddenly find a pornographic picture there.
    Jay

Have you tried the third-party Export to Flickr plugin, which has many more features than the Flickr publish service built-in to LR?  It provides the Flickr URL via the "At Flickr" metadata field, which you can access via LR's Metadata panel, with the metadata set All Plug-in Metadata.   The URL contains the Flickr ID.

  • Lightroom 3 - Flickr Publish Bug

I am experiencing an issue where when I publish images to Flickr they immediately show up as "Modified Photos to Re-Publish" and will not ever move to the "Published" section even though I have not changed a thing.
Anyone have any ideas as to what I am missing?
    Thanks!

Although not related to the original post – “Stuck in republish”, which I think is now fixed; here is my take on the situation you are describing -
I suspect there is a bug in the LR software which is still present in LR 3.4RC.
I believe this bug manifests itself in two ways when an attempt is made to republish an existing published photo …
    1)      If you are privately publishing and attempt to republish an existing photo, then LR sends a parameter (“Hidden” from public searches) incorrectly and out of bounds in accordance with the Flickr API, and Flickr quite rightly rejects it.   I suspect LR is sending values of 1 or 2 (Hidden or not) for this “hidden” parameter when it should be sending 0 or 1 to the set safety level function.
    2)      Probably related to the same technical reason as point 1 - if a non-private photo is republished then instead of the photo continuing to be made available in public searches it is now erroneously made hidden from public searches when it reaches Flickr – again 1 or 2 instead of 0 or 1.   This is somewhat annoying if you go through a re tagging exercise for the benefit of public searching only to find that they are now hidden from searches once re-published.
I have seen no confirmation from any other user of point 2 above despite posting the question here ...   http://forums.adobe.com/thread/796350
    Further points …
Since the Lightroom Software Development Kit contains a sample of the Lua code which is used for publishing, I have pointed to the actual lines of code I suspect are in error in this thread which also contains some technical dialog with Matt Dawson a Community Professional …
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/821148?tstart=0
I have raised a bug report with this technical detail, and raised a bug report for each of the two cases I mentioned above.     Hopefully this may result in some action, but I would suggest that if this important to you that you also raise a bug report, as there appears to be, to some an extent, a principle of - they who shout loudest or most often will get priority.
As a side note … to cure the problem for the moment, although I don’t want to use third party software long term, I have adopted a Flickr publishing plugin by Friedl for my private publishing until this is fixed.    If you Google “Friedl Flickr” you will find it.     I have not yet decided to adopt this plugin for my public publish due to concern about the possibility of losing all comments and favourite tagging by other Flickr members – I simply do not know at this point.
It is also interesting that the change log for this Friedl plugin on his web site also describes being tripped up by the same peculiarity present in the Flickr API which probably gave rise to this mistake by Adobe.    The Flickr API may have its peculiarities, but it is well defined and this is a Lightroom bug in my opinion.
    Alan.

  • Publishing from Lightroom into Flickr broken

Recently the Adobe Lightroom publishing service to Flickr is broken on my PC. I added some photos to my collection for publishing on Flickr, clicked publish in Lightroom, and after some minutes it came back with an error message that it couldn´t contact the Flickr service. The publishing process stopped then. Strangely however, I found on my Flickr account that Lightroom had uploaded the first previously unpublsihed picture, with all tags. So the internet connection is definitely working. However, within Lightroom the photo was not marked as published and not linked to Flickr. So if I tried to repeat the process, and by doing I added another copy of that first photo to my Flickr stream, and then the whole thing stopped again.
My OS is Windows 7, and I am using Lightroom 5.3 with Flickr uploader it came with.
I already reathorized the Flickr connection, but that didn´t help.
Did anyone experience a similar situation, or knows how to fix this? Your help is much appreciated.
    Ansgar

Consider trying Jeffrey Friedl's Flickr upload plug in. The work you do to install his code might fix the problem -- whereever it is -- and you'd have an inexpensive and excellent plug in. Might be more effective than poking the Flickr wall directly. He offers Lightroom tools (many chaoices) as donationware so you pick how much is appropriate to pay.
    See his plug-ins here: http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies
and the pictures on his blog are great fun. He is a good photographer as well as a coder.
I do use several of his plug-ins but am not affiliated with this guy in any way.

  • Cannot publish from Lightroom to Flickr after upgrading to Yosemite

Hi all. I just upgraded to Yosemite from Mavericks, and am running LR5.6. Since the upgrade i can no longer publish photos to Flickr with my existing plugin (which was working fine before the upgrade). When i click on any of the Flickr smart collections in LR I get the following message popping up:
"In order to use this sample plug-in, you must obtain an API key from flickr.com. Sign on to Flick and register for a key under Explore > Flickr Services > Your API Keys"
and it prompts for an API Key and a Shared Secret.
This sounds to me like its asking for the (Adobe) Developers key since i don't have one myself!. Additionally, the location in Flickr is not a valid one anyway.
Anyone aware of this and/or know how to fix it? I don't want to remove the Flickr plugin if it can be avoided as I have hundreds of photos published that would likely all disappear and need to be republished.
    Many thanks
    RS

    Try this.
Open your default browser in the background
Go to your specific Flickr instance in the Publish Services. Right Click and Select Edit Settings … to launch the Lightroom Publishing Manager
Click  [Remove Authorization] in the Flickr Account Setting section
    Click [Authorize]
    A dialog should appear [Authorize]
A Flickr tab should open in your default browser
    [Ok, I'll Authorize it]
A different LR dialog should appear [Done]
    [Save]
    Does that restore your service?

  • Lightroom: Veröffentlichen auf freigegeben Ordner geht nicht

    Hallo,
Exportieren klappt genauso wenig.
