Publication Error - Scheduling failed
hi All
i'm trying to create a new simple publication on BO XI 3.0 system with a crystal report
i create the CR and export it to the enterprise platform
i run and refresh the CR from the Infoview, its working fine.
i create a publication for this CR
with those details
Source Document : mycrystalreport
Enterprise Recipents : Administrator
Formats: Microsoft Excel 97-2003
Destinations: Default Enterprise location
when i run this publication in test mode it gives me this error
Scheduling failed: Security privileges are not sufficient for this operation.
any idea?
Hi There,
Have you tried to schedule the report (just a 'run once'). How does that go?
Your error may be because when a report get's scheduled (as opposed to a human clicking refresh), it's technically unattended so reverts to the db config settings.
In the CMC, right click on the report, go to properties. Expand the Default Settings node, then select Database Configuration.
You might want to use the setting 'Use custom database logon information specified here.'

I am trying to schedule a group of reports (crystal reports) via a package where the output destination is to an email. At the event of execution of the scheduled time for the package; the package fails with the error: Component failed to run due to a Object Package scheduling failure. (Note: When scheduled individually it is successful and it was copied to the package from its original location, so there is no mistake in parameters or ODBC connections)
When we go to the history and within the instance, we see that some of the reports have the status as success and some are failed with the same error message. Even though some of the reports are made to fail at the event of 'NO DATA'; what I do not understand is that how come some of the other reports (which contains data and which works when trying to run manually or scheduled individually) are failing.
I would understand something is wrong when the entire package fails which is not the case here as say of 50 reports, 5 are successful and the rest fails with the same error.Sorry posted on the wrong section...

Scheduled DeskI report gets error SetPrompts failed (80004005).

I have a DeskI report which I can refresh without any problem but when that report is scheduled I always get the error SetPrompts failed (80004005).
The user that the report is scheduled by is the Administrator (who I can also refresh the report without problem).
I have tried to delete the Universe and export it again as Administrator, changed the report and exported again as Administrator.
My system is BO XI 3.1 SP 3.1 FP 3.2 Enterprise server.
Has anyone had this problem and found some solution?

Hjortur.I seen similar issue when we migrated reports and universe from 6.5 to XI R2. If it is a old report, report prompts might have got corrupted, delete the prompts in the report and save the report to corporate folder. Import the report and add the prompts what ever you needed and test it.
If above scenario doesn't work try this work flow
1. Delete the report from your local folders in your system
2. Delete the universe from your local folder in your system
3. Import the report and delete the prompts, save the report and export to different test folder.
4. Import the report from test folder and add what ever prompts you needed and once again export to test folder and test the schedule...if the report is working fine in test folder, delete master report from prod folder and export the modified report to PROD folders.

Scheduling a Deski report fails with error message: "Failed to get property
Hi,
We have created few Desktop Intelligence report. Now when these report are schedules to be refreshed weekly (on Sunday), it fails with the following error message:
"Failed to Get Property"
Have tried to refresh the reports manually in Full Client too but the report fails there too.
Have checked for the connection information. The servers are up and running.
Have tried to re-create the connection and even tried to re-import and export the Universe.
If we rename the report and save it and export, it works fine. Can not try this workaround as have more that 500 reports.
Please suggest.

usually the message "Failed to Get Property" is followed by an item name such as SI_FILE, or SI_VARIABLE, or SI_USE_ORIGINALDS, and so on.
Could you please specify as much information coming from the error message as you can?
Furthermore, is this issue happening with any Desktop Intelligence reports you schedule?
Are the reports using the same Universe?
Which DB are you using?

I can elaborate on that. I dont have a sample code with me.
Steps:
1) Consider the job which is scheduled with the help of SM36 as Job_A
2) Now, develop one program which needs to be incorporated as Job_B. This Job_B moniors and send whether the first job has triggered successfully, running or not.
a) Now, to develop the program I would request you to take a look at the table TBTCO first.
b) This table will have details of all the jobs that were scheduled in the system.
c) Create a work area of the type TBTCO structure and try to fetch the details of the job which you
have triggered already.
d) Now, check the value of the status of the job in the work area.
e) if it is active/ready/released, then dont take any action.
f) if it is cancelled or failed, then try to implement the logic of sending an e-mail with the contents
saying the job has failed to run.
3) Note: Remember to run this monitoring job Job_B after sometime the Job_A has started.

Schedule failed launching in Ultra Search
I am trying to launch a crawler immediately from the Schedule screen after created Ultra Search instance and file data source. The status is showing "Launching". After a while, I click Refresh status, the status is showing "Failed". Anyone knows why schedule failed launching? Is there any error log file that I can check to find out why it failed?

The log file for the crawler schedule should be explicitly listed in the information for the schedule. Please check the information for that schedule.
This log file will be located in the log directory that you've specified in the "crawler" tab.
Please locate the log file and let us know what you see in that.

Scheduling failed with SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTION
Dear Experts,
From last 2 days onwards my Backup is getting Scheduling Failed error, i have checked in Job log its showing the below message.
SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE failed for BRARCHIVE - Reason: x_error
Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE
also i have checked at os level in sapackup directory log it showing that
"Execution of BRARCHIVE finished with return code 3"
So What could be the reason i am getting this message and help me needfully

If your CI & DB are on different host then first check SAPXPG destination is working fine or not using tcode SM59.(TCP/IP-->SAPXPG_DBDEST_<DBHOSTNAME>.). If it is failing the update the rfc destination with correct inputs & check.
If you have scheduled your Archival backup using DB13 then this issue occurs(mosty after 30-40 days later after scheduling) If you schedule this form OS level this issue wont come. I have came across same issue & I tried by deleting old job & scheduled it again with DB13 & cds option.
Please try the same & let us know.

The error seems to be saying that a pointer is pointing to an invalid page.
Actually, the assertion message is suggesting that we were scanning for a row (record) on a particular page where we expected to find it, and didn't - the table page is likely corrupt.
Does a utility exist which would eliminate all pointers to invalid pages?
No. If the database is corrupted, it is best to move to your database recovery procedure from a valid backup. See KBA 1959391 - How can a SQL Anywhere (stand alone) database be restored from a full or incremental backup?
If you do not have a valid database backup but can still start and connect to the corrupted database (and it seems that you can), you can attempt to salvage the data out of the corrupted database tables manually to extract it to a new database (as Jinwoo suggested). See KBA 1959030 - How To Salvage Data When There are Corrupt Pages in the Database. Using -e to skip tables is appropriate and then trying to select the data that is not contained on invalid pages via the KBA instructions is your best option in this case.
Does sap/sybase offer a recovery service?
No, there is no such "recovery service" underneath SAP and any previous mentions of salvages were one-off contracts underneath Sybase Professional Services, and not a technical support service. These contracts are not available at SAP.

I am attempting to create a list of values in Business View Manager and continue to get the following error:
Status of List of Values Instance: Failed
Creation Time: 2/5/2009 10:04:38 AM
Start Time: 2/5/2009 10:04:46 AM
End Time: 2/5/2009 10:04:49 AM
Server Used: BOIAN.ListOfValuesJobServer
Error Message: Failed to open the connection.
The data connection/data foundation all appear to be correct. I have tested the connectivity successfully. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this error?I searched the notes (you can do the same) for: "list of values" "failed to open the connection" "business view"
and found the following (there are others that may apply):
Cause
"User must change the password on next logon" option is checked for the user on the SQL Server.
Resolution
Uncheck the "User must change the password" option on the SQL Server for the user.
Change the user name and password for the Data Connection in the Business View Manager.
Save the Data Connection.
Schedule the LOV(List of values).
Save the LOV.
Open the report in the Crystal Reports Designer and save it to the Enterprise. -
ColdFusionMX7 Email - Error "Authentication Failed"
We are running Exchange 2007 and I am trying to setup the email portion of ColdFusion. Under the admin tool "Mail" settings I am setting my account up as:
user:pass@smtpserverip
I have alos tried:
domain\user:pass@smtpserverip
I can smtp to my mail server from that server with no issues. The mail log gives an error:
"Error","scheduler-2","11/20/09", "12:58:18",,"Authentication Failed"Suppose my username at the mail server is 01BKBK02. The mail server is mail.bkbkInc.com, internal IP 193.68.95.122, public IP 95.96.46.152
Then these login names are possible:

[email protected]
[email protected]
However, the second one is only possible if the mail server is within your private network.
