Publication slow performance issue in BO 4.0 SP04 WebI

Hi,
Publication of a report is taking around 4 hours in BO 4.0 sp04 WEBI and failing some times.
same publication is taking around 1 hour in BO 3.1.
More  details about existing publication setup:
publication with many dynamic recipients and the destination is shared file system, format excel sheets.
Normal report refresh is taking around 5 to 10 minutes.
Known issue:
We were trying to upgrade to newer versions to BO 4.0 SP08 but there was a problem during upgradation
Several errors such as could not open file: <install
dir>\InstallData\InstallCache\<package name> were found in the setup
logs.
After trying to find this file, we discovered that the InstallCache
directory only contained 1 subfolder and this issue throwing an errors while upgrading to later versions.
Is there any way to fix publication issue in BO 4.0 Sp04 publication slow perforce with out up-gradation to SP08?
For up-gradation BO 4.0 SP04 to SP08  how to handle above mentioned installation cache issue?

To get a good performance, you need proper server sizing and configuration in CMC. Follow the guidelines available in sap documentation to ensure the sizing is appropriate.
You can have a dedicated APS for publication and allocate enough memory to it and then test the same. For details: http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Business+Intelligence+4.x+APS+%28Adaptive+Processing+Server%29+Service+Distribution

  • Yet Another Slow Performance Issue

I am noticing some seriously slow performance on my state-of-the-art 2.5 Ghz G5. I don't even know where to start. It happens frequently, it happens switching back and forth b/w apps, I get the spinning ball all the time, I have to restart to "refrech" the machine, which doesn't help, it hangs, it thinks, it does whatever it does. No real reason it would be doing this, I am not taxing the processors in any great way. I only have a few apps open, running a medium size photoshop file, and I'm trying to get some work done on a deadline and it's really reaaly irritating.
What kind of maintenance should I run to cleanse this machine or somthing? Norton? De-fragment? I sure hope there's a solution for this weak performance.
    G5, dual 2.5Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

Norton Utilties hasn't been good to us, even their AV has had a serious takeover exploit because it runs with root powers.
Applications running with root powers (admin password install) is one of the greatest threats we face as Mac users because it introduces all the more chances of failure behind our greatest security barrier, the admin password.
About your performance issues, I have written something about it that can make your Mac fly like the wind.
Visit my site and download the performance and cloning text doc, it's a bit of rough draft, but the hard core info is there.
One thing I need to add to my file above is that Western Digital is coming out with a larger faster drive called the RaptorX. Even though the clear cover is about worthless to us PowerMac G5 owners, the size and speed of this drive makes a excellent boot drive for performance.

  • Service Manager 2012 SP1 consoles hanging or slow performance issue in Virtual Environment

    Hii,
We are facing SCSM SP1 console performance issue which is utilizing high CPU and working deadly.
For information, our SCSM is in Virtual environment via Hyper-V.
When running the console over an RDP session to a Hyper-V virtual machine, we have to be careful not to maximize the console so that it will remain fast.  If we maximize on the VM, the console is so slow as for it to be unusable.
Can someone share his experience, please?

  • Performance issue of Forms & Report running in Web environment

    Hi,
We have been using Oracle web forms and reports but experience slow and unstable of application when run in web as java applet.
Besides, after using quite intensively during the day or idle for some time in the day, forms is very likely to go halt, which is the biggest problem when we need to serve a lot of customers in queue. When this thing happens, the entire browser needs to be restarted. We can't afford to always do that.
Is anybody out there face the same problem with Oracle Web Forms or not? If yes, can someone provide some guidance and advice on this.
Really appreciate your help in advance.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.

  • Help - slowing/performance issues

I've been using imovie with no problems until just recently my little 10 minute movie won't play back properly from the timeline. It looks like it's in slow motion & rebooting my computer doesn't help. Also, when I choose 'extract audio' from a clip, it randomly won't work.
This 'slowing' issue seems to be affecting other programs involving video playback, such as quicktime.
Any suggestions on how to fix these issues??

  • Broadcom Crystalhd slow performance issues.

    Hi
Does anyone, of archlinux users here, have broadcom bcm70012 or bcm70015 mini pci-e device ? I have bought mine couple of days ago, and after compilation of drivers from AUR, I am very disappointed with performance. I'm using XBMC from AUR, the xbmc-git package. I had to edit PKGBUILD and add --enable-crystalhd to ./configure section. Everything compiled just fine, and I have crystalhd option in xbmc settings. Ofcourse, it is enabled.
    But...
Only 720p movies are playing well. Not exactly, cause sometimes frames drop to 23 or less, but this happens rather rarely. However full hd (1080p) is just unwatchable only 7-14 fps which is realy bad, actually it is unacceptable.
My arch system is up to date, so I really don't need to tell you what is my system spec. I just want to know if anyone here have some experience with this broadcom "sh*t" and maybe can help me to make it usefull. If not, I'm selling this piece of crap to some windows user.

I just got a 970015 mini-pcie and experience the same issue: On linux, 1080p is choppy in mplayer and vlc, but works fine on youtube (???).
On Windows OS, 1080p is smooth.
720p is smooth in any case (was unplayable on this hardware without the 970015).
    Here is my install thread^^
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=135034
I assume it's a linux driver/software issue since mplayer on Win is fine on the same hardware.

    Never mind...I found it.
Of course I have all the firewall, worm, scanning, phishing
filtering, full time protect, and everything else turned off when I
am working on a remote/testing site however I found the Symantec
antivirus email scan being enabled (doesn't it just interact with
my email program?) was getting in the way of DW9 ftp operations,
causing some lagging that was putting DW9 into an unstable mode
during and immediately after (10 seconds) ftp operations.
The CPU still spikes to 99% during ftp functions but DW9
works even though it's likely taxed to the max but when I turn off
email scan DW9 returned to a functioning state during ftp and
remote file view. Whatever it takes huh?
PS: email scanning only never effected DW8.02

    What does doesn't work mean?
Once the user has logged in, can you output the MM_Username
session variable to the page (in particular the page that the log
in user behavior has set for a successful log in)? You can do that
by simply selecting it in the Bindings panel and dragging into the
design view then previewing the page (after you've logged in of
    course).
Also to get better responses (and more folks looking at it),
you should probably post this in the Dreamweaver Application dev

  • Slow Performance when program was once 100% proficient

    I am working on a 2011 Macbook Pro - OS X version 10.9.5
For over a year I have been working in Adobe Premiere Elements 11 on this computer with no issues.  Recently the program began running EXTREMELY slow - for example., taking well over an hour to render video that previously would render in only a minute or two.  Went to Apple - thinking it was my MAC - diagnostics on the MAC show the computer itself is fine.
Purchased Premiere Elements 13 (liked the new features and offerings) and was naively hoping it would fix my slow performance issue.
But program is still running horribly slow.
    Any suggestions or similar issues?

    Hello,
I am running windows server 2012 as dc with 2 clients connected running win7 pro x64, this is a new setup.

  • POA performance issues under windows 2008 R2

Hello - we are running GW 8.02 hp3 and recently moved our main post office (~600 users) from Netware to Windows 2008 R2 (running under Vsphere 4.1).
We have started seeing intermittent slow performance issues esp. when moving a message from one folder to another, or sending a broadcast email.
It doesn't appear to be a hardware resource issue: disk queues don't exceed 1, with low latency (7-15ms) and we're not cpu or memory bound (that I can see).
Here are our current config settings:
    Message Worker Threads: 15
    Maximum GWCheck Worker Threads: 8
    C/S Handler Threads: 30
    Max Physical: 2048
    Max App Connections: 4084
    Soap Threads: 20
We don't see any serious errors in the logs when performance becomes slow. Could this just be a tuning issue?

Windows is the lowest performing host for GroupWise, so that is a part
    of what you are hitting.
How are you monitoring memory usage? I've found that the vCenter tools
aren't a good indicator of that, where as the Windows tools are better
in that respect. The biggy is that you don't want much paging to disk.
How much do you have assigned to this VM?, how many cores? And are
these ESX box(es) over committed on those two?
Those settings on their own don't really mean a whole lot. What we need
to see is what is actually being used, and if you are running out of
them, then upping those specific numbers can help. The best way is to
watch the POA web interface for the relevant settings.

  • Newbie: 6020E (USB) slow performance with mixed digital and analog input

    Hi,
I'm using a 6020E to do analog and digital input, and I'm getting very bad performance.
Please note that doing IO in Labview is new to me!
I have read the post about 6020E slow performance, and it says I should do buffered IO.
Can anybody point me to some DOC or SAMPLE that actually shows or explains how one should do this. I need to read several digital IO lines (which I can combine in one port-read), and several analog inputs.
Seeing how slow the reading on the 6020E is, I am amazed there is only one post that deals with this issue.
I would be satisfied to get the 6020E into some sort of continuous read mode so that whenever I need data, I get the latest reading right away.
    thanks,
    Peter D'Hoye

    Hi Peter,
Your cannot do buffered digital I/O with your daqpad. It doesn't have that capability. You can only make direct software calls with digital read/write from/to your port. So your digital IO is completely software clocked and not hardware clocked. The example you are trying is only for specific Simultanuous sampling boards or now also for M-series boards that are able to do correlated DIO.
Use the Cont Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk.vi example for your analog measurements. (NI Example Finder) For your digital IO you can only use the examples like Read Dig Chan.vi, Read Dig Port,...
There are indeed some slow performance issues with single point I/O Operations, that is correct.
    Check the explaination below:
DAQPads are offered for the Universal Serial Bus (USB) and the IEEE 1394 (also known as FireWire). Both of these standards use a high-speed serial communication protocol between the computer and the device with a bandwidth up to 12 MB/s for USB and 400 MB/s for FireWire.
During a single point operation, the DAQ device requires a complete set of configuration commands. This is done through serial communication (USB or FireWire), making the process slower than in a PCI-based board. The speed obtained for single point operation in a DAQPad is system dependent; this means that your computer processor, memory, bus speed, and other factors alter the speed at which you can do single-point operations with a DAQPad.
For example, on the DAQPad-6020E, timed non-buffered analog input operations are limited to about 50 Hz. At higher rates, the software may become unresponsive. On a FireWire device, you can expect stable operation around 3,000 Hz. But again, these figures are system dependent.
    Regards.

  • ThinkVantage Performance Issues - Remove?

Hi, It looks like a lot of people have had the slow performance issues that I have experienced with my X61 tablet.  These stem around running or trying to run any of the ThinkVantage programs.  They take FOREVER!!!! I can't even get my access connections to open at all anymore!  After doing a BIOS update and the recommended updates, I am bewildered and report that the performance issues remain.
In concept, the ThinkVantage SW is great.  In execution it is an embarrassment and has wasted too many hours of my life to count.  I would never have purchased this tablet if I had known about this OR would have looked into running it without ThinkVantage BEFORE I was in the situation I am in now.  Has anyone else removed ThinkVantage completely? Is it even possible as par tof it looks to be embedded over BIOS.  Thanks for any advice!!
    Six

You can use the Thinkpad without any Thinkvantage software if you want to. Since Thinkvantage is a lot of things i'm not sure what software you find to slow down the computer. I'm not sure if you use the pre-installed OS or did a clean install, but since the Thinkpads are filled with stuff i don't need/want i never even tried to use the pre-installed OS and used a standard Windows CD/DVD to install a clean windows installation. Then i installed the drivers and only the Thinkvantage software i want which i find to work better then using the pre-installed OS. I never really figured why Lenovo sell business laptops with that much stuff pre-installed like Norton Antivirus which is not even mean't for corporate use.
What Thinkvantage software you need and want is really up to you. Stuff like message center, client security solution, productivity center and help center are some examples of the stuff i find pretty useless. Some people might disagree though. Access Connections i actually think is pretty good, but i don't need the features so don't use it. I would recommend to install only what you find useful and need then uninstall the software you don't need/want. Even if it's a bit of work i always prefer to do a new clean installation of Windows as well.

    Hey hi,
Can anyone please help me to know the reason why a new laptop runs slows.
My laptop is taking about a inute to boot.Installing a new app also takes time when compared to others.

    Hi Nozy,
    Welcome
    Have you seen these articles?

You wouldn't have age problems on a new computer, but you could take a look at what programs you might not be interested in keeping. That includes an anti-virus if you are using one other than the one that is part of Windows.
