Publish app in Beta 1 & Beta 2, contain missing images

I have noticed that when I publish a siena project in Beta 1 and now Beta 2, there seems to be missing images within the published folders.
This results in having to publish several times and validate that all images have been downloaded to the publish package.
I have over 400 images within several folders. I know that all image paths are correct as all show up in preview mode within siena. I have also validated each and every image in all folders, so I know the exact number that should
be in my publish package.
What I have found if an app contains many images, one has to ensure that all images are viewed (selected) within the app. I cannot just open the app that published correctly one day and make a small cosmetic change and then publish the app again
without validating that all images get published.
A good example is that I opened a siena project that i published and after several attempts the package contained all images (over 400+). I then opened the same siena project and saved it with a new name, added a rating control and timer
for animation. Please note that no other changes were made. I then published the package several times before I was successful in getting all images added to the published package.
I see the same issue in Beta 2.

Sorry for the confusion. The embedded media is not the issue here. I have an excel data source that contains the links to the images. I can see the images within the project, data source, links are loaded into the collections, and all images
can be viewed within the project.
The issue occurs during the publishing phase. During publishing all the images should be downloaded into the publish package but they are not. I just opened the same project and published in Beta 2. I wanted to test this issue
in beta 2. I was missing over 40 files from the 400+.
Please note I did not close and reopen siena. The next step is that I went into preview mode within the same project, viewed each image from each gallery, then published. I then validated the published package subfolder and all 400+ images
were there.
Hope this it a little bit clearer.

Mobile app missing images only after packaging for App Store?

This is general, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problems, as it's happened to 2 different apps I recently posted to the app store.
Basically, the apps worked in the simulators fine, I intalled and tested on 10 different iphones, and it works fine. When I packaged up the app, and downloaded from the app store after approval there were various missing images. For example, 3 images on a page with 6 png would be missing. They weren't loaded any differently.
So I rechecked the app in flex simulators, worked fine, installed on phones, worked fine. I could not replicate problem anywhere. I randomly just resaved out a few images and that 'appears' to have worked. So when my next app was exhibiting the exact same behaviour, i 'resaved' out the broken images and a few were fixed, but a few are still broken.
This is just so strange, since I can't replicate the issue anywhere except after downloading from the app store.
Anyone else having similar issues?

Make sure your paths are *NIX compatible. Things like incorrect case or spaces in the file name will work just fine in the emulator, but fail on the device.
Are you saying the images work when installed on the device using a provisioning profile, but that very same app doesn't work when downloaded from the app store? If that's the case, the problem is probably in your build settings (IE. not including all the asset files, etc.)

Citrix Published Apps "folder" is missing

Our last Network Admin got a new job elsewhere so I've assumed his old job. Part of it includes some Citrix ... something of which I know very very VERY little about. Traditionally, all of our users have a little folder on their Desktop titled "Published Apps Desktop" where all of our Citrix Published Apps appear and can be launched, etc...However, any new users I've setup or updated the receiver for no longer have this folder. I used the same script for silent installs the previous guy used (see below) and just updated the application install file:BatchfileN:\IT\CitrixReceiver.exe /silent ADDLOCAL="ReceiverInside,ICA_Client,SSON,USB,Desktopviewer,Flash,PN_Agent,Vd3d" SERVER_LOCATION="https://xenapp..com/Citrix/PNAgent/config.xml" ENABLE_SSON="yes"Where do I need to go to re-publish the Published Apps to everybody's desktops? If you are hyperlinking to a movie rather than dragging it onto the iWeb page, you need to upload the movie file to your server and link to this.
Linking to the movie file on your server will play the movie full screen as shown in one of the options here....

The purpose of the "Link to: A file" function in the link inspector is to create a download link. In the case of a .mov, you would have to zip the file using Finder/File/Compress to achieve this.
This is not the best way of linking to a download file as the file has to load with the web page. Its better to upload the zipped file to your server and link to it from the iWeb page using a text or image link.

Connecting to Remote Desktop Published Apps through RD Web Access not working

Hello,
I have configured an RD Gateway server. My scenario is like I have a windows 2012R2 server with all RD components (Gateway, web access, connection broker, session host) configured, since this is for a poc. Externally I can access rd web access portal (https://<servername.domain.com>/rdweb)
and can connect to the target server using "Connect to a remote pc" tab without any issue.
But I can't connect to any published app from "Remote App and Desktop". The error I recieve is "unable to connect to remote pc. please provide the fully-qualified name......."
At the same time I can see below errors in event logs related to connection broker:
Error 802:
RD Connection Broker failed to process the connection request for user domain\Administrator.
Error: Element not found.
Event 1306:
Remote Desktop Connection Broker Client failed to redirect the user domain\Administrator.
Error: NULL
Error 1296:
Remote Desktop Connection Broker Client failed while getting redirection packet from Connection Broker.
User : domain\Administrator
Error: Element not found.
Googling I could see some posts related to these issues, mentioning about to check the network connectivity between RDCB and the target server. I can defenitely say it is fine and already mentioned I can connect to the same server using "connect to
remote pc" tab.
Just FYI, I have this server as Amazon EC2 instance and the domain is configured as Amazon directory service. Can someone please help me at the earliest.. This is pretty urgent as my tasks are pending due to this issue..

I have seen similar issues with Essential role installed, if it’s installed on the terminal server, please remove it.
Please also ensure involved machines are fully patched and keep port 443 of the TS server open.
When external users connect to the Web Access page, are they able to see remote apps? If not, please check whether user assignment setting is configured correctly for remote apps.
Are users able to open remote apps from internal network?

Quick preview looks better than processed raw image...??

Hey all, probably a bit of a "newb" question here... so forgive me, and thank you...
Using a D7000 and often times when I shoot - the preview image on the camera looks BRIGHT, VIVID and ROBUST ... after import however - when reviewing my shots, JUST as I arrow over to the next shot - many of the preview images tend to look better than the processed image that aperture displays once it's done spinning it's wheels.
Perhaps I've messed up a Raw Fine Tuning setting?
When I click on quick preview and browse through an import, the pictures truly look nicer to me than the when aperture processes them.
Without question, the display on my acer monitor is a far cry from the miniature compressed image on the back of my nikon, however the more i shoot, the more I realize a disconnect between what I think I should see, and what I'm ultimately seeing in Aperture.
Are their specific settings to fine tune the import of raw d7000 shots?

I take it you're shooting and processing RAW images?
It's worth remembering that if you have a picture style selected (i.e. vivid etc), your camera might be applying extra contrast and saturation etc to the image you see on the back of the camera. Camera manufacturers do this so that we can give our pictures some extra punch and colour automatically.
I'd also be wary of comparing what you see on your camera to what you see on your monitor. Unless both are calibrated, you shouldn't trust either of them 100%. The best example of monitor calibration is going to look at TV's in an electronics store. You'll probably notice that in a wall of TV's, some pictures will be darker, some lighter, some more vivid, some more saturated. Using a calibration tool adjusts the picture your screen and monitor displays so that it is 'accurate'.
It's a bit like having a room full of scales and adjusting them so that they all read 1 kilogram when a 1 kilogram weight is placed on each of them. Calibrating monitors will mean that when you display an image on it, it will always look the same rather than getting the some light/some dark problem you saw in the TV store.
It's a tricky subject to explain (don't worry if it doesn't make sense), but you might like to have look around YouTube for videos on the subject.

Error when trying to download published app!

I've created a folio and published it but when I try to download it on my iPad I keep getting an error to install a later version of the Adobe Viewer app. I then installed the latest version of Adobe Viewer, but I still get the message which says "This issue is available for download, but requires a newer version of the app. Please update your app from the App Store." Anyone know if the trial versions don't allow the download of the published app from the Folio?

As mentioned in countless threads already, Apple has not approved the new viewer, yet.
If you need this on the iPad now then roll the tools back to version 18.

DPS Tools are buiilt in InDesign CS6 - Folio Overlays and Folio Builder. You can download the latest updates of those tools in InDesign by going to Help>Updates or by downloading updates from http://www.adobe.com/downloads. Publish App-V applications to XenApp servers remotely using PowerShell

We have a XenApp/App-V 5 environment in which our applications are published globally from a content share by way of a startup PowerShell script. The XenApp servers are scheduled to reboot every other night to keep the PVS image clean and all is working
well.
Apart from when we have a scenario where we need to rush out an application update etc at short notice. Because half the servers reboot one night then the other half the next, ordinarily we have to wait two days after placing an updated app in the content
share to ensure it's published on all the production servers.
To try and avoid forcibly restarting servers out of sequence, or manually publishing apps on lots of servers, I was hoping to create a PowerShell script to allow us to publish an application remotely when needed and came up with this:

I've enabled Windows Remote Management on the servers and while I can run other PowerShell commands in the scriptblock fine, when I enter the App-V publishing command I get:

Add-AppvClientPackage requires admin privileges on the machine, so you should verify that the remote command is really executed with the right permissions. Does the remote call work in general (like try to create a file in the (remote) user profile)

The remote call definitely works correctly with full admin privileges. I've just removed the AppV publish command and replaced it with a command to create a txt file in the local administrator profile on the target server and it works perfectly. It's just
the AppV publish command that doesn't work.
I'm looking in Event Viewer to see if I can find any further detail but can't spot anything.

If I publish app created in siena and open it in visual studio it opens that as java script. Is there any option to transfer that code into c#. I'm more familiar with c# then java so I wish to improve my skills in c# using siena project what I've
made. Is there any option to do that?

java != JavaScript. Very different beasts. Java is somewhat similar, syntactically, to C#. JavaScript isn't and has a VERY different runtime concept. I'd be shocked if you can find anything that can turn arbitrary JS into C#, and even if you could that wouldn't
help you with the controls, which are also JS.
It would be a lot easier to prototype something in Siena, then to re-create a C# Store app entirely in VS that behaved similarly.

Publishing apps after may 1, 2015

I have understood than with the CC plan You can publish iOs apps directly to iTunes withount paying per issue. Now I read that this is valid untill May 1, 2015. Does anybody know how one can publish apps after that, and what the cost will be?

This was announced in November.
Unfortunately after May 1, you’ll need to have a full DPS license or know someone that has one, in order to create or update Single Edition apps.

I have been making a duplicate image of 35 MB and reducing the image size to 8"x12" at 72 resolution giving a file size of 1.4 MB. Then I SAVE AS a jpg of medium compression giving a file size of about 111 KB. Overkill?

Go to File>save for web.
I usually make the long side 800 px
At the bottom of the dialog, check "constrain proportions."
At the top, select JPEG in the dropdown for the file format.
All the work is done for you! 72px/in is ok for web work. 240-300px/in is the recommended range for printing.

Run specific published app in one collection using different credentials

Hi,
I have a collection of published apps using rdweb with apps accessed by and run by a user in a group. I was wondering how i can allow one of the apps in the users rdweb to be launched using alternate credentials.
I.e. i log on as userA. I get my list of allowed apps in RDWeb. Among those apps is an app, let's call it AppX. I want that app to be launched using credentials of a user account named userB.
I know this is possible using citrix xenapp on server 2008 R2. Can it be done on native RDS 2012 R2 (no citrix)?
