Publish Discoverer Metadata, possible ?

Hi all,
simple question:
Is it possible to publish Discoverer Metadata to the Users ? If yes then please describe how or point to a document as I haven't been able to find any related information about this.
It would seem natural to be able to publish it as it is the centralised metadata repository so I guess that I have been just looking in all the wrong places :-)

  • Publishing Discoverer reports

1- Is there any available tools that can help in publishing Discoverer workbooks that enable end user easily decorate reports.
2- Is there any plans to support Arabic langauage in near future. can we promise customers?

With Discoverer 3.1 you can export your sheets to Reports. Then, your end user can open the report with the Reports Builder tool, execute the report, get the output, and then esily make modifications. For example, he can change the size of a column if it turns out to be too large or change a date format, etc.

  • Publish Persistent Metadata breaking instances in .swc export?

I'm trying to export publish persistent metadata from JSFL in flash pro..
If i export as a swf file it works as expected.. the metaData is available...
Now, if i export an swc instead.. it will make the instance holding the metadata into NULL,
and thereby also removing it from the stage. The name exists but it is no longer is a child.
Surely this cant be correct behaviour? Can anyone confirm this is a bug in Flash Pro? (Using Fl pro CC 2014.1)
    jsfl code:
    element.setPersistentData( "testvalue", "string", "test123" );
    element.setPublishPersistentData("testvalue", "_EMBED_SWF_", true);
    fl.getDocumentDOM().setPublishDocumentData("EMBED_SWF", true);

Nothing.... guess i have to report it in the bugbase just then

  • Publish DAM Metadata?

    Just a thought ...
If you upload an image to the DAM, set some metadata, and publish, is there anyway to access the metadata from the Publish instance?  Is there a URL for xml which is accessible?
    Thanks!

I am not quite sure understand your problem correctly and looks like you are looking for http://<host>:<port>/<patch of assets>/_jcr_content/metadata.xml example:-[1]

  • Publishing Discoverer plus OLAP worksheets on Portal with 10g Rel 2

    Hi,
I am getting an error (red cross sign in a circle) in the beginning of Discoverer OLAP worksheets when i tries to publish them on Portal. I have 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.2.0) database (Unix) and 10.1.2 AS (Windows) on production server.
I have developed the same dashboards on development server without having any problem but I used the infrastructure database (10.1.0.4) rather then using seperate database server.
I would appreciate if someone can help.
    Regards,
    Shahid

    Hi,
Have you given the user SCOTT access to the Discoverer Catalog? This is done via the Application Server Control for the BI Instance that you have created, ie, http://hostname:18100
Click on the Discoverer hyperlink, followed by the Administration tab, and then the manage link. Enter your credentials and then click on Authorize Users and Roles. You should then be able to give access for selected users and roles to the discoverer catalog.

  • Attempting to edit mxf metadata - possible?

    Hey all,
Is there anyway to get Bridge's metadata editor work on .mxf files?
Here's my situation - I work for a small production company that shoots solely on P2 footage and we're looking to setup some easy way of organizing and bringing our logged footage into one searchable location.  I was hoping Bridge would be the answer but the problem I'm running into is even though Bridge identifies .mxf files of the footage, it won't let me edit the data to match the logs we've already done in Premiere.
    Thanks for taking a glance!
    Doug

Sorry I wasn't clear about the Time Machine reference. I was explaining my reluctance to roll back to a previous version of my main library if the changes I had made to the MBP library were going to prevent me from importing its .xml.
    Chris CA wrote:
Once you import the songs, you should be able to import the iTunes library.xml file from the other libraries to update this info with the songs you just added.
How exactly do I do this? As a test, I tried making a new library and importing just a few songs, all of which came in with today's date. Using the WAG approach to importing the .xml, I tried using "add to library" and selecting the .xml of the real iTunes library. Nothing happened. I then tried "import playlist" and selecting the real library's .xml, which triggered the import of all of my songs, all with today's date. I suppose that today's date could be a function of using a just-created library for my test, but...
Clearly my guesses were off the mark, so I could use a little more guidance.

  • Asus Update won't install with X-Fi - some discoveries and possible new

First of all, there is a possible solution here: http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ery.id=0#M3940
    To my discovery:
Up until now when I've reinstalled WinXP, I've always used the CD that came with my X-Fi Fatalty card to install drivers and software. Doing this, even when I updated drivers with the latest one from web, still made the Asus Update impossible to install, or impossible to run if installed before X-Fi.
The last time I reinstalled WinXP, I did NOT use the X-Fi CD, and did not install anything else but the drivers directly from the web. This time, NO problems at all with installing Asus Update or running it.
This leads me to believe that it is the X-Fi *software* that is the problem, not the X-Fi drivers, not Asus, not the other products.
    So basically:
X-Fi Drivers + Software (without Mediasource installed)
    and
X-Fi Drivers + Software (with Mediasource installed)
    messes things up, but:
X-Fi Drivers (at least 5. drivers) as only install, no software from the CD installed
    works perfectly.

Makes sense to me since I have 2 partitions for my OS one is XP Home where I used the CD and the other is XP Pro 64bit where there were no drivers at release and can only use the update from the web. When I updated my BIOS for my ASUS A8N32-SLI board I had to do it in XP Pro 64 since it wouldn't run on XP home. Nice another fun issue with X-FI as if the crackling wasn't bad enough.

  • Cheque and PO Printing / Discoverer Report Publishing

    Greetings,
We are contemplating the purchase of OBI Standard Edition One. I have read much of the product information, and would like an opinion from actual users:
    1) Can Cheques and Purchase Orders (that have been generated out of E-Business Suite) be printed using OBISE?
    2) Can OBISE be used to publish discoverer reports as PDF files to network folders or email addresses, and can this be scheduled to be done say weekly, etc? Or, do we need the EE (enterprise edition) to do this?
    Thanks,
    Colin Jensen

    Actually, that's a good point.
If Discoverer can print to XML, then an XML engine kind of program (hint: XML Publisher) might be able to process it and export to your format.
Newer - ie: to come - versions of Disco are supposed to be woven tighter with XML Publisher (actually BI Publisher now) so may be better in a later version.
For now though, sure sounds like you might want to look into doing the XML printing and have XML Publisher handle it or ... just have this report use XML Publisher exclusively and not use Discoverer at all (... did I say that? ... on a Disco forum?).

  • Discoverer Integration

How can discoverer application and workbooks be integrated with Portal? Currently designing for Data Warehouse project with webbased front end.

Try posting this in the Discoverer forum. You may be able to get information about APIs that will enable this.
The PDK does not currently include built-in integration with Discoverer (that is not to say it not possible using the JPDK in conjunction with Discoverer APIs).
If Discoverer has Java APIs to access content, then it should be relatively straightforward to use those APIs with the JPDK to publish Discoverer content.

  • Graph Capabilities in XML Publisher

Just started evaluating XML Publisher as a possibility for reporting multiple Balanced Scorecard KPIs from E-Business Suite onto one report, as that functionality is NOT provided by Oracle.
I presume the idea of XML Publisher is to make development of Reports faster and easier, with less technical knowledge required than perhaps using something like Oracle Reports
To be honest with an initial look I have found it to be quite disappointing, especially in respect to graphing.
I wanted to create a graph where I could display Multiple Series of Data on the one Bar Graph i.e. Actual, Budget, Forecast, by Period
The "Wizard" in Release 5.6.0 only allows me to select the "sum" of a single "Measure"
I have since read further through B13817-05 XML Publisher User Guide, and found you can go to Format, Picture and the Web tab and alter the code in there to change the graph.
So I have managed to do that by manually adding additional <RowData> items
However I don't feel that confident in recommending we attempt to use XML Publisher yet for "advanced" reporting, as it seems to have as many peculiarities, issues as Reports Developer, and probably requires a similar level of Expertise/Experience
I am sure for a basic report, it is quite easy to achieve something quickly and easily, but generally nowadays requirements are not simple
    The resources I have found that seem to relate to graphs are;
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/htdocs/faq/graph_faq_with_style.html
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/whitepapers/graphdtd/graph_dtd_technote_2.html
Is there any other resources out there that would be helpful ?
    Jeremy

    Thanks for your reply
I will check out those possibilities if I have time, as mentioned we are not really developers and were looking for the true benefits marketed for using XML Publisher of reports being "designed using Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat "
Let hope the graphing and other functionality makes it into a release soon

  • OBIEE 10g/11g RPD as a Data Source - Driver Name for metadata imports

    Hi,
I'm trying to use OBIEE's RPD as a relational source in Informatica 9.5.1 PowerCenter Designer. I have the ODBC connection to the OBIEE's BI Server and can connect to it. I'm using OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 (I also need to do something similar with OBIEE 11g). I've posted this question to the Informatica forum as well.
In order to use OBIEE as a third-party relational data source, Informatica needs OBIEE's DLL for metadata imports.
    I've tried, with no luck, NQSODBC.DLL & NQSDRIVER.DLL.
Does anyone know what DLL it might be? It could be an issue on Informatica's end as well.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    For some more details, you can refer to the following document;
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/discoverer/discoverer-metadata-conversion-assi-128504.pdf
    My personal expreriences:
The Metadata Conversion Utility is an accellerator / assistant. It does not provide you with an end product. There is some additional handwork requiered. It could be a risk when you copy an old Oracle Discoverer environment. Shit in is shit out. Last but not least; There is not yet a workbook migration utility.
