Publish ical on internet for any apple or window users?

I would like to publish ical for my business. Therefore my clients can see what days I have available. I have tried ical exchange and am not able to get my friend to log onto it on their windows (mozilla) web browser. I have tried .web but run into the same problem. I do not want to use .mac if I have to because of the cost. I figure I have two options publish it to a site similar to ical exchange or publish directly to my website. I do not know how to either, any advice?

You can use the publish feature of iCal to publish your calendar to either a .Mac account or any other URL which is running WebDAV services (WebDAV is a mechanism to allow file transfers over FTP - supported by Apache and many fine web server software).
If your web site is not running WebDAV see if your system administrator can set that up for you.

For what its worth, I pay the $99 for .Mac and between the backup software and synchronizing my machines I think its worth it. The .Mac hosting and Email is just a bonus.

Publishing iCal on internet

So I dont have a .Mac account, but I'm looking for a website that supports publishing iCal information. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I tried using iCalX.com but am having problems with it, its not really displaying the correct information.

Actually, you don't need .Mac for most services, including iCal publishing. Here's a good resource for setting up WebDAV for iCal sharing: http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2002/09/20/ical_webdav.html
There's also a series of great articles here: http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2002/09/20/homemadedotmac2.html about how to "roll-your-own" .Mac. I paid for .Mac for the bookmark and Mac-to-Mac syncing capability, but if I didn't use these, I wouldn't have renewed.

Is Mavericks free for any Apple ID user?

Hey guys,
I am going to sell my MacBook Pro to a friend as part of an upgrade and since OS X installations handle somehow the Apple ID in terms of a legal check I think (same as a receipt is stored in downloaded MAS apps) I wanted to reinstall the old OS X Snow Leopard which came with my Mac when I purchased it, so he can go forth an get Mavericks himself. As another friend of mine sold his MBP a few weeks ago the "customer" had problems downloading Mavericks on the fly (so as part of the installation process, e.g. when booting up an MBP in restore mode). So my question is: can said friend create an Apple ID, somehow obtain Mavericks in the MAS and use it as soon as he gets my MBP? So even via a wireless OS X download-installation? Or is Mavericks just included with new Macs? Anything to keep in mind?
A better solution to me would be to install a not-related-to-me Mavericks since I want to run a secure erase on the strorage, just in case. Any chance?

This is not possible... Any Download of Mavericks is forever tied to the Apple ID that downloads it... as with Any Apple Download / Purchase.
Restore the Mac you are selling to Factory Condition... Then the New Owner can Use their Apple ID to Purchase and /or Download Apple Software.

Permissions for file sharing to Windows users

Greetings, I would be very pleased if someone could help me with file sharing permissions for Windows users of a Mac mini file server running Snow Leopard 10.6.1 (not server).
I have a folder in my root directory, lets call it Project, that holds a series of 10 sub folders, say 1 through 10. Some of my users I wish to have read/write access to the whole Project directory, and, having enabled file sharing in System Preferences (and SMB for Windows), I did cmd to get info on the Project folder, ticked sharing, added the users (whose user accounts I had replicated on the Mac from their Windows machines), gave them read/write access, and then was able to map a drive to Project in their machines. All good so far, notwithstanding an hour tussle with a Vista laptop . The other user 'groups' were set the following permissions: me - read/write; Admin - read/write; Everyone - no access; which seemed sensible.
Then, when I wanted to only share say sub folders 4, 5 and 6 with other users, who will not have access to the whole Project directory, things were not as straight forward. I followed the same procedure as above, but for the particular sub folders. However, I think they are only able to see them if I provide read or read/write access for Everyone to the parent Project directory. This of course then lets them at least see all the other folders I do not want to share with them. I don't seem to be able to remove the Everyone group from the Project directory, which occurred to me might resolve this.

I don't think this is the case. If I allow someone read & write access to a folder because they need to have read & write access to two of three subfolders, I cannot deny them (at least) read access to the third folder.
In respect of a particular folder:
1. You can only assign read; read & write; or write (drop box) to an individual user; and
2. You can only assign No Access to everyone.
Do I need to use Snow Leopard Server to be able to assign No Access to a particular folder for an individual user?

I have 6 Cals that I want to share with my coworkers on the web. I do not want them to be able to change them. I do not want each of them to subscribe to my 6 cals, too much hastle for them!!
Currently my Cals are all synced with my MobileMe so that they can sync with my iPhone (from laptop via the cloud).
How do I solve this problem!? Everything was so much easier with iCal for .mac

In their infinite wisdom, that functionality to publish groups and to publish to non-Mobile.me users has been removed. Use "feedback" if you can find it anywhere to join the chorus asking for those features to be restored. You could also send mail to steve at apple dot com, but don't expect a reply from either.
In my not-so-humble opinion, this makes iCal essentially unusable except as a personal calender, and even then, limited. It is useless in business.

An Apple AirPort is a router, so you're covered there. The only other device required is a modem, and there are many of them from which to choose. Does your ISP supply one, and if so, can you determine its model number?
Modems can be purchased for $30. You first need to ask your ISP what equipment they plan to supply, if anything. Modems are commonly supplied for $0, to be returned if and when you cancel their service. Some ISPs want to supply a modem but charge you a rental fee. Whatever that fee is, it's not worth it.

I can get iphoto to work for any apple device

iphoto doesnt work in any situation. I have tried via itunes and directly via iphoto.
Above what you see is the error report that is generated when an app crashes. I am hoping an advanced user will see this report and be able to assist me. I think its shameful that when I want to import my photos I have to so it on my PC.

Cannot complete Installs for any Apple software! Stall, Stall, Stall...

Can anyone help me...
I've tried to download iTunes 10 but the download stalls at 10% (approx. 7.5mb),also Quicktime stalls too at around 50%, Safari stalls at about 60%...
No error messages, no info, they all just stall Everytime!
I've deleted iTunes 9 and all associated files, I run AVG 2011 Free edition, turned that off too, turned off firewall, pop-up blocker but Nothing!
Everytime it just stalls at exactly the same point...

I understand, other downloads work OK. Are they as big a download as the itunes setup file which is 71MB? Network speed isn't the issue here, some routers seem to be blocking large downloads. HAve your windows updates been downloading OK? My suggestion was to take the router out of the mix.

(Although I am employed by HP, I am speaking for myself and not for HP)

The solution works except that it is limited to a single page plus you don't have the option to select the ouput format. To me the solution is to get the driver for the printer working properly as it did when the product was first purchased.
I thought that the problem was limited to Windows 7/8 but I now find the same problem is happening running under XP.
I think the solution is to buy a non HP product where there is some form of assistance offered by the vendor as I am finding that HP isn't interested.

You need to check your router and/or with your ISP. This does not have to do with the devices.

Unable to browse Internet for any length of time

I am having constant screen blackouts in Chrome where I am redirected back to my home screen (desktop).
Facebook seems to work fine, this happens when I click on a link that opens in Chrome.
Could it be a Chrome problem or a lack of phone coverage in my house?
No big issue with email or Youtube. Rarely, the screen will black out and redirect to the home screen (desktop).
I have cleared the data and cleared the cache in Chrome many times but the problem continues.
I have tried different rooms and the browser always crashes after about 30 seconds.

Hi Lorenzo1950- Let's keep your Chrome bright and working! It appears from your post that you are using the Mobile Hotspot on your Razr Maxx, am I correct? If your other data services are working well it would indicate that the issue is with your Chrome browser. Have you confirmed you are running the latest version of the Chrome browser?

Device Central won't work for any Apple devices

I know I probably have a setting wrong somewhere, but I've Googled this to no avail.
I have a flash file and I'm trying to view it in the iPad emulator in Device Central. I have it as a project, Flash Player 10 & 10.1, ActionScript 3.0, but when I click Control -> Test Movie -> In Device Central, and choose iPad, iPhone 3GS, or iPhone 4 profiles created by Adobe, it says that "The file type is not supported on this device!"
I'm sure I'm exporting it wrong or something but I can't figure out what settings I'm supposed to be using. What am I doing wrong?

That is because the devices you mentioned do not support Flash and also have not been profiled to support Flash emulation.
