Publish new iweb to overwrite previous version.

Hi,
I recently purchased an imac, previously i had been using a g4 macbook but the harddrive packed at which point I found my backup strategy was flawed and lost a lot of data.
Using the iweb with the imac I created a new website that I have published to my mobileme. I use my own domain and forward the the address to this domain.
The problem is the previous website created on the old iweb (ilife08) is still on my idisk and my domain still routes to this version rather than the new site I have created.
I had assumed these would be overwritten, please advise as to how to change this?

Updating to Dreamweaver 2014, it did not overwrite previous version

Creative Cloud showed the 2014 version for installation. I expected it would overwrite the previous version but it did not. I would appreciate someone confirming that uninstalling the previous version via Control Panel will not mess up the 2014 installation.

That has confused many people. Must admit, I was surprised as well.
I thought the Cloud version would remain the same executable file constantly updated. I did not think that Adobe would produce a separate executable with updated major version naming - which they have done. The new name CC 2014 is confusing at best but we're stuck with it.
Jeff Tranberry (Adobe Staff) has produced a useful FAQ for Photoshop CC 2014. You can replace the word "Photoshop" with just about any other Adobe title.

Do app updates overwrite previous version

Am I right in assuming that an update of an app when downloaded by the user will replace the previous version? So the new version must contain all the content of the old version plus any changes? I am looking at ways of ways of updating/unlocking content besides in-app purchase - is that possible?

And to elaborate a bit, the question relates to publishing a game which contains the full content of the game, but only parts of it are playable after the initial download. Later on an update would be released on the app store which unlocks the existing content. Since the app may have a large size, it would be ideal to have the update only function as something that unlocks the existing content already in the app.
I do realize that this is what in-app purchasing is intended to do, but the question came to me from the game's producers and so I just want to make sure I'm not missing some possible updating technique.

How do I remove old web site when publishing new site with same URL in iweb? Hit replace when publishing new iweb site (so we could have control over changes) but new site name is attached to old via a / after our www address we want to keep.

I hit the replace when publishing the new iweb site (so we could have control over changes - last one was not an apple based site) but new site name is attached to old via a forward slash and underscore after our www address. Makes it very messy with a very long web address. Original address now followed by iweb site name followed by name of first page? Went for iweb as not that computer literate - all going so well?! Well yes of course, if you try and publish through iWeb there won't be an option to publish without your site folder which is exactly why I told you to download Cyberduck and use Cyberduck to upload your site to your server having published your site from iWeb to a local folder. That is what you need to do if you don't want your site name to be included in yoru url.
It would have been easier also if you had used Cyberduck initially to connect to your server and delete your old site yourself - at least that way you would have deleted the correct files rather than relying on your hosting service to do it and doing it incorrectly.
Download Cyberduck and then select the publish to a local folder option from iWeb and then use Cyberduck to upload your site to your server, but rather than uploading the whole site folder and separate index file, upload ONLY the contents of your site folder and then your url will be http://www.domain.com/page_name.html.
It really isn't rocket science!

Premiere pro cc 2014 new update terribly slow, previous versions available?

recently updated to the newest version of premiere pro in the middle of a project. ( silly, i know) been experiencing so many problems. specifically lag in the program and rendering previews. ive searched all over threads and google for what could be causing the problem to no avail. also have tried uninstalling, cleaner tool, reinstalling. tried changing permissions. at this point i just want to revert back to CC or at least 8.01 but i cannot find any links or a way to return to a previous version of premiere. any help?

dual core 2.2 250gb ssd boot and 750gb 7200 rpm internal
not the beefiest system by any means but it was workable, up until recently.
im at my wits end with this.

Strange resolution scaling on new RDP client (vs previous version and old 2.2.1)

I've been using the new 8 release for a while and it's been fine. If I scale the full screen of a remote Windows server it would display it just fine on my MacBook Pro (Retina)

I've played around with different resolutions from within the client with no success. If I select OSX Native, it displays ok. However, I like to use "Custom" for full screen mode as it's faster. I'll use OSX native, that's ok when
using a projector.

New MacBook Air vs previous version- processor speed?

I was going to exchange my < 2wk old MacBook Air for the newer version. the new one has better battery life but it looks like smaller processor? 1.3 GHz vs the 1.8 that I have. How much difference is this?

500HMz is actually a pretty big difference... especially in this range. Depending on your use though, it's entirely possible you would never notice. Besides improved battery life, the new Air also has significantly better graphics performance (about a 40% increase). What do you typically use your MacBook Air for? If you use processor intensive applications, you may want to stay with your current model. If you do things that involve graphics, the newer model might be a better option.
Basically... you might have one car that can go 200 miles per hour... and one that can go 150 miles per hour. But maybe you only ever need to go up to 70 miles per hour. Basically, they would both meet your needs as you'll never need the full power of either. That's how you can look at the difference in the processor performance. Just because one is lower, doesn't mean it will perform differently in your daily tasks.
I personally would probably go with the newer model (especially since you're still within the 2 week return period). The boost in graphics performance and the reduced energy use would outweigh the difference in processor speeds.

How to ALWAYS open links in new tabs on IE10, desktop version? Settings Internet Options Tabs seems incomplete......

Hello, I know variations of this question have been asked already, but I'm not finding answers that seem to actually work.
For example, if I click on a link in my Favorites Bar or in my Favorites, they open in the already open tab, not in a new tab.
This is not the case for Firefox; in FF they always open in a new tab. In previous versions of IE there were plugins that enabled this feature, but in IE10, Desktop version, all we seem to have are the tab options in settings. I have tried setting it
to always open in new tabs, and in new a new window, but nothing works.
Please don't mention keyboard shortcuts, as that doesn't seem intuitive; who wants to remind themselves to use the shortcut every time?
And yes, I know I could go back to FF, but I'm not a quitter! I want to like IE10, and I'm willing to give it a chance in spite of a few shortcomings.
Is there a plugin or registry hack to really really really make IE10 ALWAYS open links in new tabs?

As far as I know, the behaviors of clicking some links are different due to how they are designed for some websites; there should be some purposes about why they are designed in such
way. There might be no other way to achieve this in Internet Explorer. Please understand that Internet Explorer and Firefox are different, such as on how they are designed and how they work; and Firefox needs an add-on to do this.

How to publish an iWeb website to an already existing wesbite?

I'm updating my companies website using iWeb. I would like to publish the sight but would also like to leave the existing website until all the editing is complete. I've never really used iWeb or any website program before and need some help.

Why not create a Dir in your Old site Called "test"
Publish your Iweb Site to "test" dir
Then while you are testing you can Navigate to
www.yoursite.com/test/Iwebsite
to see if everything works, and when you are happy, Backup up then delete old site, then publish New Iweb site cleanly to your web server.

My son needs Illustrator CS6 for a class he's taking, and his teacher said we could download it from Creative Cloud. However, when I look in the Apps tab, under "Find new apps," and select "Previous versions" from the drop down menu, Illustrator isn't one of the options. How can I get it from Creative Cloud?

How do I open a previously published site that is on .Mac to my new iWeb?

I have a site published on .Mac that I did on my old Mac which had the previous version of iWeb. I just bought a new Mac with iWeb '08 and I can't figure out how to get it to synch with my published site.
Anyone figure this out?

I hate to tell you this, but I asked Apple technical support that very question when the iWeb update Killed my domain file. Which, to be absolutely fair, I did NOT have backed up. I could have saved myself a ton of grief if I had backed up before I updated. TONS!
I asked if there was someway to take my perfectly good site from dot mac and put it in iWeb. He indicated that it was not possible, the only route is to use your old site as a "guide" and build it from scratch.
I'd love to be proven wrong on this one!

Publishing - Overwrite Previous Images in Images Subdirectory

When I re-publish an Edge Animate piece, I commonly may have swapped out updated bitmap images. However, all the updated images do not overwrite the previous versions of the image in the published directory. Is there a way to make it do this?

If the image names do not change ,we do not republish/update the images in the publish folder.
If you delete the images in the publish folder new images will be copied there.
This is a known limitation, introduced as a result of publishing optimization.
We will try to address in the next release.
