Publish Now doesn't always overwrite?
Hello --
I have run into this issue several times over the past few years, but becoming very frustrated. Often, we will create a training and launch to a team of approvers who come back with a tweak to audio, or a new attachment. I make the change and publish to my Adobe Connect Server and because it is something I already pubished it asks if I would like to "Publish Now" and overwrite what I already have. I choose to proceed with that, and when I go back to use that link sometimes it is updated, and sometimes it is not. Does this happen to anyone else?
I have tried saving the PPT, Presenter file with a different name to avoid this but the system also seems to know something about the file and when I hit publish, the Adobe Server recognizes it by its old name and often asks if I would like to Publish Now and overwrite. I realize that I can us the other options, but wondering why this happens.
Hi
Whenever we launch any connect content or course on browser, it downloads some file into temp folder. so next time you modify the content and relaunch again,
The URL of the content remain same , so browser does not download the content again. This is the reason , sometime you are unable to see the changes .
Try clearing all the browser history and cache of the browser and relaunch the adobe connect content or course again.
This time you will be able to see the changes.
I hope this is the case happening with you.
If not , Kindly explain a scenario with certain steps to reproduce the issue.
Thanks,
Sunil

Updated my ipod touch to ios6 now apps close without warning and seems really slow to repsond. Also doesn't always connect to the Wifi never had any problems before upgrade
Try a hard reboot (hold home and power buttons down at the same time until your iPod reboots). If that doesn't work, do a restore in iTunes and do not restore from backup. You wqill lose your game data and settings, but your iPod should run better and work properly.

XML Publisher (now BI Publisher) reports without Using RDF
Hi All,
We am trying to generate XML Publisher (now BI Publisher) reports from Oracle EBS reports without Using RDF.
We have generated the required report using RDF however as we are trying to move away from RDF, we are looking for this type of solution (i.e without RDF). We simply want to use SQL query for XML output.
I tried to generate XML output from a concurrent program which is a SQL query however the output doesn't come out in proper XML format.
I am sure this can be done through XML publisher using pl/sql procedure. By using a procedure and using the function DBMS_XMLGEN.getxml to generate the output in XML format & storing it in a variable declared as CLOB type. The reports are running fine smaller result set but its giving error "Value or Numeric Error' for larger resul set. Following is the way i am using the function:
select DBMS_XMLGEN.GETXML('select * from dual') into result from dual;
Where result is declared as CLOB Type.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks.I used a different approach.
I registered a concurrent program with executable as XDODTEXE and output as XML.
I added a XML data definition (which contains my SQL query) on XML Publsiher admin and Registerd a template against that XML data definition.
This solved my problem.
Thanks all. -
I uploaded to Maverick and now my mail always cc's me on every email I send out. I have checked Preferences and the Composing Automatically CC button is unclicked. How can I stop this?
Sounds like your phone has the jitters.
This is sometimes caused when a DLL fle is missing when you restore, so the ipsw pacakge wasn't installed corectly.
You could back up and restore, but if it doesn't help go to http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ and then download the same firmware your on.
Open up iTunes and hold Shift+Restore and select that firmware, you can't use anoy ther firmwares though.
Hope this helped -
IPhone 5 doesn't always vibrate (IOS 7.0.4)
I bought my iPhone 5 few months ago, running IOS 7.0.4 and I've noticed it doesn't always vibrate while receiving calls. Or it just vibrates once or twice and it stops. Any advice on this..? Thanks
I have exact same problem as your. My iPhone 5 was updated to iOS 7 Beta Version but right now I'd like to update to Official iOS 7.02 as the newest version for now.
I have been trying to restore my phone back to iOS 6 and then upgrade to iOS 7.0.2 but it did not allow me to restore bck to iOS 6. For another method I've tried is to restoring directly through iTune by click L-Shift and select iOS 7.0.2 firmware. All the results are disallowed. I also used DFU mode for restoring as well but it make no differences as well
I try my best to get updated my phone but I'm still at the end of corner. NO IDEA to make it works.
So, if anyone who use iOS 7 beta and enable to upgrade to iOS 7.0.2, the official one, Please suggest me how to do it. I would be appriciated for your suggestion.
Thanks you in advance

IMac keyboard doesn't always work properly and Magic Mouse battery drain
Owned my iMac for a few months now. First off, my batterys only lasted 23 days, not 3 months like stated by Apple. I've use both Duracell and Energizer and both last less than a month. Secondly, my wireless keyboard doesn't always function properly. When I'm trying to type something out, I always end up having to go back and add something that the keyboard has missed..
For example, I just tested my Cap Locks key. I pressed it 10 times normally as you would when typing and the green LED only lit for 3 of the 10.
But when I press hard it works everytime
Is this a common problem or have I been sent out a defective pack?
ThanksIt's a long shot, but is a non-standard input selected here:
> System Preferences > Language & Text
Try selecting 'British' and see if the problem persists. Also, if you click on the little nationality flag in the menubar at the top of the screen and choose 'Show Keyboard Viewer', what happens when you press the '3' key? Does it light up as expected? -
Turning off thumbnail caching doesn't always work
The standard solution for stopping the creation of thumb nail files doesn't always work. This assumes that since you don't display thumbnails you don't create thumb nails. Not true. If you try to move a JPG created by Windows Media Player as message is
displayed. This message asks you if you really want to move a system file. The message displays a thumbnail. So instantly a THUMBS.DB file is created. Now the whole purpose of the exercise was to move stuff out of the folder, so that after a bit of fiddling
you could reorganise & delete the folder. Now you can't delete the folder, unless you mess around and do it later. There is obviously a (non intuitive) work around. But it would be better if Microsoft allowed you to force the delete.Hi,
As far as I know there is no official way to turn off thumbnail caching. The only option in Group Policy is Turn off taskbar thumbnails.
Local Computer Policy\User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu and Taskbar\Turn off taskbar thumbnails
Do you encounter any difficult position that must disable thumbnail caching?

Alarm doesn't always make audible noise
Anyone have this problem? It doesn't always happen, but once in a while, my alarm will make no audible noise. I know it isn't just me being a bear in hibernation and not hearing it, because when I wake up the screen is in its standard screen when there is an alarm going off where it asks to hit snooze or slide the bar to turn off.
This is obviously disconcerting since I use my phone as my morning alarm.Hello Apollo64, Sorry to see your having this issue.
A couple things to keep in mind as this happened to me personally.
1. Make sure the alarm sound is set to a sound you can really hear. Loudest most annoying sound usually works for most people
2. Check and make sure your alarm is set to go off the days you need it to go off. Most people are Mon-Fri. So when they select these days Alarm will say Weekdays.
I made the mistake of setting mine for that forgetting I had a weekend shift and it never went off. Checked it and went DOH Weekdays. So had to adjust it a bit.
3. Check and ensure the time is set correctly. So if you need an AM call make sure it's AM and not PM sometimes this is easy to mistake. As the time you set the alarm automatically starts at the current time it is right now example: 4:23 AM I decide to go in and change my alarm. By default it is set to go off at 4:23AM so if I want to wake up at 6PM I need to make sure I change it to 6:00 and ensure it's PM not AM.
4. Set some test alarms up. Reboot the iPhone before you set these up. Now go ahead and test the Alarms out
5. If needed restore the iPhone incase their is a small software issue.
Also ensure that the speaker part of the iPhone is not blocked. Sometimes that will muffle the sound and you can not hear it. But as you stated earlier you should of had some sort of screen notification pop up. I have never ignored my iPhone long enough to see if it ever quits.
Maybe some of our other users have. -
The time under the received column doesn't always appear. If I click on the message, it shows but then goes away. It's very inconsistent. Repairing permissions and restarting doesn't change the behavior.
I'm guessing you did not carefully read your owners manual, did you? Unless you are not going to be using your computer for several days at a time there is no reason to shut it down. Your manual states:
_Putting Your MacBook Pro to Sleep_
*If you’ll be away from your MacBook Pro for only a short time, put it to sleep. When the computer is in sleep, you can quickly wake it and bypass the startup process.*
AND
_Shutting Down Your MacBook Pro_
*If you aren’t going to use your MacBook Pro for a couple of days or longer, it’s best to shut it down.* -
I am using Numbers app for the ipad and it has been working absolutely fine but now, when I want to email a spreadsheet as a PDF via the 'share and print' option, the file now doesn't appear as an attachment to the recipient. Any ideas please?
Hi mafiose15,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.

At my PC startup, I get an error message "AppleSyncNotifier.exe--Entry Point Not Found" My iPhone now doesn't show up as a Device in either iTunes or My Computer on my PC. I've uninstalled/ reinstalled iTunes & run diagnostics-no luck. Ideas?
I think my problem is fixed now.
For the fun of it, I reinstalled iTunes 9.2.1 today (using the exact same installer as I did yesterday), but this time I didn't uninstall iTunes first. As expected, iTunes recognized my iPhone (as I expected it to, until my next reboot).
A few minutes later, Software Update showed up and among the updates is "iPhone SDK Compatibility Update". The description indicates that installing this should fix an issue where iPhones and iPod touches aren't recognized by iTunes. Isn't that interesting?
I installed that update and most of the others waiting for me (including Java, Safari 5.0.1, and a few others - not 10.6.4 though, due to the issues with nVidia graphics cards). After the reboot, I started iTunes, and it saw my iPhone!
So, if you're having this same problem, I'd recommend tracking down this update and see if that does the trick for you. Hopefully it will. -
ITunes 10.4.1 Problem with Key Command Go to Current Song - Doesn't always work
Since updating to iTunes 10.4.1, I've noticed that the key command, command + L doesn't always work to display the current song.
I have this problem in iTunes 10.7 (21). The "Go to Current Song" option exists in the Controls menu, but even when audio is playing it is disabled.

Have a 64GB flash drive that used to work and after an update, now doesn't show up in finder
I have a 64GB flash drive that worked just fine and Finder would show it when I would insert it, well it seems that after I updated my mac it now doesn't recognize or show the flash drive. I am unsure if the update did something but like I said it worked previously to update and it works on other windows based computers. So is there a way I can fix this?
Hey Raveybaby
I would check to see if it shows up in Disk Utility. If it does, run a Repair Disk on it and also mount the flash drive as well. If it does not show up, check other ports as well.

Trouble with FP 10.3.183.7 upgrade - wasn't working and now doesn't download
Current system info:
Windows 7 (64 bit)
Internet Explorer 9 (using 32 bit for downloading FP)
I upgraded to 10.3.183.7 and immediately noticed my laptop unable to display/use Flash features (facebook games, online flyers, video, etc)
I uninstalled and installed multiple times using both Control Panel and the uninstaller provided on Adobe help page. I restarted my laptop after every install and after every uninstall. I made sure to use 32-bit IE each time.
At first Programs (and Control Panel) showed FP as installed but now it doesn't register as installed at all - aside from the installer program telling me it is installed.
After installing, on the Adobe 'test' page instead of the spinning F I see a box with an 'x' in the top left hand corner (like an image/graphic that won't load).
I tried the beta FP 11 but same problem. It at least showed up on my programs list. I uninstalled it and am back to FP 10.3
I have been on the help page trying anything I can find to get it working but no luck so far. Any advice for this issue?
Thanks,
JillFP does appear in my Control Panel for uninstalling but does not appear in my Programs list. I downloaded Google Chrome and FP seems to work with it (though I'm not a big fan of the browser)So, it would appear to be an IE issue?
