Publish problem using proxy settings

We use network proxy settings (for an Internet filter), and they are preventing me from being able to publish my iCal calendars. Has anyone had any success? I get an error message stating that the user name and/or password are wrong in the proxy settings, but they are correct in the network prefs. I haven't found anywhere in the iCal prefs to adjust proxy settings.

You must configure the firewall on your iMac so that those ports are open.

  • How to use proxy settings for one website

    Hello,
I have to access the only one website using Proxy settings and for others I don't need proxy to access. Is there a way to configure the internet settings to allow one website using Proxy... Please advise. Thanks!

I am also getting this "error".  The printer (8500 A910) connected to the web well enough that it went out and supposedly downloaded a new update, but then it was supposed to print a page showing the email address, but did not.
So I go in and try to set up the eprint, and it tells me it cannot connect to the sever and I'll need to enter a proxy address and port number.  But my ISP's cable modems do NOT have any static IP address nor do they provide any sort of proxy service.  Everything works just fine with "automatic discovery" (DHCP) for every computer in the house.  No problems there.
So, since  that's the case, of course I cannot look up some proxy address and port number in my web browser because they're all set up for "automatically detect settings".
What's baffling is that the printer connected to something at HP to download the "update", and it went through a process that appeared to be what I'd expect it to do if it was updating its firmware.  But it won't connect to whatever it's supposed to connect to to have an email address assigned.
Does HP supply a proxy server?  If so, what's its IP address or URL, and what port should a person set the printer to try to use?
    UPDATE:
It appears that the HP site must have just been "down" for about six or seven hours while I was trying to get the printer to connect because it now connected and I got an email address asigned without needing to have any "proxy" stuff set up at all.  It's a shame that the printer does not simply report "HP Site down - try again later" instead of reporting that you need to use a proxy when that's impossible.
"Now, on to the next problem which is that my emails to the assigned address are all bouncing with a "550 5.7.1 Command rejected" error!

  • How to use Proxy Settings in swf?

    Hi ,
I am using swf inside an MFC application. Both MFC applciation and swf can call web pages(some web services). Everything was working fine until my company added a proxy server. I have made changes to the MFC application and that can communicate through proxy server but swf is still not able to call remote services.
Where should I make changes in swf to call remote service through proxy? I just want to know which class or property should I use? There should be some propety to specify that I want to make a request through Proxy server on some port with a username and password.

  • IE 10 not using proxy settings

Odd one this. Our proxy server address is distributed to client workstations through GPP. Just lately, and I can't think of a reason why, users have been complaining that they are presented with the authentication page for our proxy server, which is usually
presented when no proxy details have been set within IE. So, I check the proxy details, and they are present! If I untick the checkbox for 'use automatic configuration script', recheck it, OK, close the window, and refresh the page, all is good again. It's
like IE is forgetting that the details are there - any ideas?

we see this happening in our environment, when users save their credentials (IE offers to save userid/password for a URL/domain), and, the user then undergoes an AD password change/expiry.
They visit the URL again, after changing their AD password, but the browser/Windows will recognise the URL, supply the saved (stale) credentials, which are not accepted, so a basic auth challenge dialog is raised.
Maybe you are seeing something similar, although if it goes away when you re-assert the auto-config setting, your issue may be different.

  • Proxy settings in OEL 5.7 running in VMWare ESXi 4.1

    Hi.
I am newbie to Linux. And I have problems with proxy settings in OEL 5.7, exactly when authentication is reqiured.
When trying connection from Firefox it works fine - the browser asks for user/passwd. There is possibility to choose
that browser should use system proxy setting. In that case, although user/passwd is set for proxy in the system,
the browser asks for the user/passwd again. And I guess it should not ask in that case.
And when I try connection from command line:
    nc -vz linux-update.oracle.com 443*
    it returns:
nc : connect to linux-update.oracle.com port 443 (tcp) failed: Connection refused*
    Better is commad:
    nc -X connect -x proxy_server:port -vz linux-update.oracle.com 443*
    it returns:
nc: Proxy error: "HTTP /1.0 407 Proxy Authentication Required"*
But why is necessary to enter proxy server again and why it ignores user/passwd from the system proxy setup?
I did settings in Unbreakable Linux Network Configuration as well but id doesn't take effect.
    I made several experiments with env variables proxy_user, PROXY_USER, proxy_password, PROXY_PASSWORD,
    http_proxy, HTTP_PROXY, https_proxy and HTTPS_PROXY too, but without success.
When we went through the log files on proxy server it seems it (OEL) doesn't try to authenticate at all.
The only way, how to connect with nc* command is to make an exception for my IP address
on proxy server not to request authentication. But I still have to enter " -x proxy_server:port".
Has anyone experience with that behaviour? I have to mention that OEL runs as a VM under VMWare.
    Regards
    Tomáš

Perhaps the following will help to avoid the repeating proxy authentication prompts:
Open Firefox and type "about:config" in the url field.
Double-click network.negotiate-auth.allow-proxies to toggle between true and false. The option must be set to false. It seems counterintuitive, but you set it to false to make it work with Microsoft's ISA proxy.
I'm not sure if NAT could be a problem, but you can configure the NIC of your VM in VMware to bridged mode to avoid NAT.

  • Contribute 4 - no proxy settings for outgoing CPS authorization

Does CS4 have any access to proxy settings for publishing
    server identification?
There are three outgoing requests in Contribute:
    1) FTP or SFTP --> this has a proxy setting
    2) contribute browser -> this uses proxy settings inside
of Start->Settings->Control panel -> Internet Options
    3) HTTPS: validating CPS un/pw -> this has no proxy
    setting that I can find.

Thank you for the quick reply! But the solution provided by you, it seems, has still not been able to address my issue. I ran the program at command prompt with your said parameters, but the download still gave an error in the App window.
Also, is there some way of defining these parameters in the source code? I am keen in using NetBeans to run the program.
    Cheers!

  • N97 MfE Proxy Settings

    N97
    Firmware v11.0.021 15/06/2009
    MfE 2.09.162
MfE works when I use a WiFi access point, but it doesnt work when I use packet data access point
My packet data access point is a corporate APN, and that APN uses a Proxy to connect to the Internet
MfE trouble shooting guide suggests that you should not use Proxy settings with MfE
N97 connects to the data access point, but fails to establish connection through the Proxy to our corporate Exchange server, get error message in the MfE logs 'HTTP Server Error 408 Request Timeout'
A colleague has same problem with an N95, however an E series phone does work
Is this a problem only with N series
    Help appreciated

The N97 mini doesn't support animated screensaver. I tried using a gif image as wallpaper but I wasn't rewarded with a fanciful screen. But what the heck, animation will just increase the demand for my battery power. I'm fine without it.

  • Proxy Settings Re-Appear after Reboot in Registry Post Malware Clean (Windows 8.1 x64)

    Hey Guys -
My main system at home hosts many different things for me.  Because I'm an idiot and had protection disabled, I caught some malware which I cleaned off soon
afterwards.  The malware was listed as Trojan.Generic.KD or something similar.  It had enabled Proxy and set it to 127.0.0.1:58054.  I ran Malwarebytes, Spybot, then ExecuteIt to clean the malware off and currently the scans from all 3 apps
come back clean.  I also had to manually disable proxy via IE settings.
I have one specific app which for whatever reason will use Proxy settings if they are there over anything else and doesn't offer and configuration to disable it.
Even though proxy is disabled (and cleared) in IE, this app still doesn't work and I still seemingly get redirected to ads in Chrome sometimes.  The log file of the app showed it was trying to connect through 127.0.0.1:58054.  The thing is,
IE Settings still show Proxy disabled!
    The Issue
I checked many things are read a few articles to try to fix this including different Windows 8.1 settings, local Group Policy, startup items, checking Run keys
in HKLM and HKCU for "out of place" entries, and more.  Finally, I opened the registry and did s keyword search for ":58054" and found one key with it.  I cleared out all of the data and set the EnableProxy string from "1"
to "0", rebooted, and tried again but the app still failed with the same log message.  I went back into the registry and found out that the strings I changed had all been changed back!  Below is the key / strings I'm talking about which
    are located in HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings.  It's odd because I usually deal with HKLM and HKCU and don't think I've ever worked in ".DEFAULT" on any system ever before.
I know that a full OS re-install is suggested - and I actually do it every 3-4 months religiously - but - I currently don't have the time for the full day it
takes to perform due to how many things it hosts.
Any ideas on how I can get this to stop coming back after each restart until I can perform the re-install?  Below are the system specs.  Thanks!
    System Specs
    - Intel i7-3770k / 16gb RAM
    - x3 partitions  256gb SSD for OS & Apps  /  24tb Disk Pool for Storage  /  500gb Hybrid drive for App installs
    - Windows 8.1 Update 1 x64 (Fully Patched)
    Thanks again!
    Ben K.

    Hi,
.default is the profile for the Local System account and is an alias for
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18, Consequently, settings in HKEY_USERS\.Default are used by programs and services that run as Local System.
    In addition to HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
    Settings, please also check HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
    Settings and HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings, make sure all proxy server disabled, then press F5 to refresh registry, check the application, if the issue disappears, the the registry entry is the culprit. Then please reboot the PC, if the issue appears again, the virus is not cleared in your
system. In this case, please try other virus clean program if possible, meanwhile, check if there're unknown software installed in your system.

  • Using nvidia-settings without X/over ssh

I have a computer with an nvidia GTX 670 that I want to control remotely. However, I have problems using nvidia-settings over ssh. When trying to use it, I get this error:
    ERROR: Cannot open display ':0.0'.
When a user is logged in an xfce session locally, I can use nvidia-settings without issue, using the command line over ssh. As soon as I log out from the xfce session, I get
    Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
    ERROR: Cannot open display ':0.0'.
ERROR: Unable to query attribute GPUCoreTemp specified in query '[gpu:0]/GPUCoreTemp' (no Display connection).
How can I use nvidia-settings without the need for a user to be logged in locally?

I am trying to do the same thing with a GT 240. I found something promising here:
    https://sites.google.com/site/akohlmey/ … s-X-Server
Since you do have a local monitor, it may be easier not having to fake one. I don't have a monitor, I haven't gotten around to trying the Xorg stuff yet.

  • BizTalk published WCF service throwing HTTP 404 error using ISA reverse proxy settings

I have published my schemas as a WCF service from BizTalk 2010 "Publish WCF Service" wizard. I used Wcf-basicHTTP adapter in receive port. I am able to run the service successfully on localhost IIS and I tested my biztalk solution by sending request using SOAP UI and got response successfully.... Now: Actually, I need to give this service endpoint to my vendor who will send request from outside my company's network i.e. internet. In my infrastrucrue BizTalk is behind the firewall so, we setup a REVERSE proxy server at DMZ layer and it is configured properly. I have tested a simple WCF service by replacing the localhost with Proxy server configured address <DNSName> and it worked absolutely fine. But when I change localhost in my BizTalk schema based published WCF service it is not working and I am getting following error. Really strugling to get it resolved. I wasted a whole 3 days....very upset. Please help me out by giving the detailed step solution. Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. Requested URL: /BizTalkServiceInstance/MyService.svc I am surprized why other c# code based WCF services are working fine with reverse proxy settings. Server Error in '/' Application. The resource cannot be found. Is there any special things to consider Biztalk exposed wcf servcie over ssl in IIS cluster with ISA

    Hi Singam :)
First I would start by browsing any other files (files other than the one from WCF) just to ensure that the reverse-proxy’s redirection rules are set correctly. If you get the same 404 error when you try to access other service/files “through reverse-proxy”,
then it’s an issue in the redirection rule(s) in reverse-proxy.
If others are fine i.e. no issue in reverse-proxy setup as such, then try the following for WCF service's web.config file. I have seen this issue in WCF service (not just BizTalk’s artifacts exposed as service in reverse-proxy). Add serviceHostingEnvironment
config as show with in serviceModel section.
    <system.serviceModel>
    <serviceHostingEnvironment aspNetCompatibilityEnabled="true" multipleSiteBindingsEnabled="true" />
    </system.serviceModel>
