Publish to a different .mac account?

I would like to publish to another .mac account which I own. Is it possible?
Sal

A simple answer: yes
An explanation. You can do that if you haqve the login and password for this account. So, you can change or create another user in your machine and in his/her system preferences fill in the login and password and you'll have access to publish to this user
or
open this user idisk from menubar (go -> idisk) and enter the login and pass.

  • Using a different .Mac account in iPhoto

We have a .Mac family pack. My wife and I each have a personal account and we would like to use a completely different .Mac account to post our web galleries, but I don't want to have to create a new user on my Mac just to use iPhoto. Is there a way that iPhoto can use a different .Mac account than the one associated with my user account on my computer to publish galleries?
    Thanks,
    Aaron

I assume the settings you are refering to gives that delay for marking the messages as read when highlighted for that period of time. Probably for scrolling through the list without changing the unread status. Lion doesn't have that selection, so I can't test that at the moment.

  • Publish web gallery to a different .mac account

    Hi Friends.
Can I publish web galleries to both of my .mac accounts from the same Mac?
It seems like I might have to create a different user account on the MAc itself and make the other .mac account the default for that different user. I would really rather not do that, as I have one iPhoto library with all of my photos for every aspect of my life and work.
    Thanks for any guidance.

To make is more convenient to do that you could create a second user account, set it up for the other .Mac account and publish from there. You could either use two separate libraries or put your library on an external HD so both account could use it without ownership/permissions issues.
You can also set up fast user switching so you wouldn't have to log out of one account to get to the other.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • How to publish from iWeb to two different .mac accounts

my household has two separate .macs account and we want to publish from iWeb to the two different accounts which I cannot figure out. thanks

I discovered I could duplicate Domain.sites2 (~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites2). I named one "Domain de.sites2", and the other "Domain daru.sites2". Then I opened daru's site and deleted de's, then I opened de's and deleted daru's, and I have two separate sites (with aliases in the dock) that I presume I'll be able to upload separately. Once I get .Mac sub groups created...
If it works, it saves the hassle of creating other user accounts, since only my wife and I use the computer. Right now, .Mac is telling me I can't create a sub account in my wife's name because she already has a .Mac ID (and a two month free trial account she had to agree to, to join the group) for a group site I manage. I don't think she ought to be required to have a separate identity every time she logs into .Mac.

  • IWeb doesn't complete publishing - Using two different Mac's, works on 1

    Hi,
I've recently attempted to edit my sites from two different machines; I have correctly copied and used the Domain file. The problem is that when I try to publish the site, iWeb creates the pages, gets to the empty circle which starts filling up and then it tends to stay like that without completing. This is strange as for a test I was only trying to load a blank page. Futhermore Activity monitor shows that data is being sent, actually it was Mb after Mb for a blank page and after 30mins or so i called it a day and quit iWeb, after which activity monitor showed that the data being sent has stopped. The page hadn't uploaded. iWeb still publishes fine on the other machine and I can write and read from my iDisk manually. But cannot successfully publish from this machine.
    Any Ideas?

Well i had a problem similar. Here are something to try. TRY
    1. Un-Plug Or Turn Off You Airport Or Internet Cord For Thirty Minutes
    2. Log out of your .mac account from the preferences and then log back in ten minutes later
Well i hope this works. I just hate it when something is suppose to work and it does not.

  • IWeb and uploading to a different .mac account

where do I set the settings for the specific .mac account I want the web published to?
I have 2 .mac accounts and I would like to post to both .

I suspect that this is controlled by whatever details are provided in the Account pane for .Mac in System Preferences.

  • Try to publish ical - error "your .Mac account information is not correct"

I try to publish a calendar from my home computer so that I can see it on my work laptop (both Macs); and I get an error "Your .Mac account configuration is not correct. Calendar could not be published. Your .Mac account information is not correct. You cannot publish to .Mac until you have configured your .Mac account." Its setup and configured. Any ideas?

I had the same thing and did the following two things which got it to publish. Not sure which one fixed it but give it a go.
    1. Open your .mac pane in system preferences. Sign out and sign back in.
    2. Change the name of the calendar you're trying to publish.
    Good luck!

  • How do I Publish site to another .mac account

Hey I made a site for a friend and she just got herself a .mac account. What's the easiest way to tranfer the site off of my account over to hers?
I know it's probably a stupidly easy solution but I would appreciate any help.
    Dual 2.0 G5   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    1. Open .Mac preferences
    2. Put in her login info
    3. open iWeb
    4. publish the site
If she does not have iWeb, then skip to step 6.
    5. Open up ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ and copy the domain.sites file to her iDisk.
    6. open up .mac and change your preferences back.

  • Publishing to another's .mac account from my computer

Is it possible for me to build a site using iWeb on my computer and publish it from my computer to a colleugue's .mac account or do I need to publish to a folder and transfer to her mac for publishing?

I had the same problem and found on page 6 of the .mac instruction manual it says:
    To set up your preferences:
    1 choose Apple>system preferences
2 click the .mac Icon then click the Account or ,Mac button
    3. Enter your .Mac member name and password.
so I tried entering the name and password for the client that I had built a website and set up a .mac account for. It didn't want to go along with it but I tried a few times and restarted the computer and opened iWeb and tried again and iWeb finally uploaded the website to her address, This screws around with your setting in "mail" etc. and I hope that Apple sees this is something people would want the ability to more easily manipulate so they can use ilife 08 to build sites for friends and clients but I guess I can reset all this by going to .mac preferences and entering my name and password and restarting, etc.
If someone finds an easier way please post - but this seems to work. also if we all email Apple maybe they have an easier way or will include one in the next update.
    Hope this was helpful.

  • Apple Id on different mac account doesn't see App purchases

I have one Apple Id being used by one iPhone and one iPad
On the same Mac the iPhone is used under one Mac user account
The iPad is used under a different Mac user account, but the same Apple Id
If the purchases are linked to the Apple Id why is it that when I go into iTunes under the account used for the iPhone (no device connected) I can neither see or download the apps purchased using that Apple Id when using iTunes on the  Mac user account used for syncing the iPad? Same Apple Id. This doesn't make sense to me as surely the device is authorized to the Apple Id on that machine. I can even see the purchases as a dated item in the account details within iTunes but cannot download them when using the other Mac account.

  • Publish Calendar as a different .Mac account

    Hi
We have a dotmac account for our school, but I have my personal account set in system preferences. Is there any way to publish a calendar so it goes to the school page instead of my personal one? I don;t want to use my personal page for school info.

  • How do you share the same library across different mac accounts on same computer?

I have 3 accounts on the same Mac and want to share the library (or parts) across all 3.  Home sharing does not seem to work -- I've activated it but there are no shared libraries showing up on itunes.  thanks.

  • Using iWeb to publish to a non mac account

I guess the question is in the subject.
I'm just wondering if it is possible to use iWeb to create your website, but then send it to a different domain/server?

    nuorder72,
    Welcome to the discussions.
Easily done. Create a new folder on your desktop, and name it for your site. From the file menu in iWeb, choose File/Publish to a folder..., and select this new folder. iWeb will deliever your site, in it's own folder, and the index.html file needed for the site. You will upload both of these as they are to your server, using an ftp client.
Some good tips and more details on this can be found in these notes by Tom Gewecke.

  • Two .mac accounts - different calendars - same computer

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I cannot find it.
Is it possible to publish calendars to different .mac accounts from the same computer? I have access to two .mac accounts. One is for work, one is for personal uses. I have several calendars for each. How can I publish the work calendars to the work account and the personal calendars to the personal account without changing the .mac system preferences every time?
    Ctd

Yes, that could work, but I find "fast" user switching to be hardly fast at all. Besides, you would lose immediate access to everything else you are doing just because you want to add something to a calendar.
    Any other ideas out there?

  • Use multiple Macs with same .Mac account to edit different sites

Last year our school purchased a .Mac account to host our school website. All of the teachers had been using the same .Mac account and using iWeb to publish their own sites. Because all the sites had different names, there were no publishing problems. That changed with iWeb 2. We experimented with the new iWeb 2 on a couple workstations and discovered that publishing to the same .Mac account on different Macs resulted in sites being overwritten by the computer that was published the most recently. What's confusing to me is the that sites were being overwritten even though the sites had different names. In other words, teacher "Jones" publishes their web named "jones" to .Mac. Teacher "Smith" then publishes their web named "smith". The result... the Jones web gets deleted and overwritten by Smith. In iWeb 1x, all the sites had their own named folders organized nice and neatly, now, no matter what we do, we still get the same overwritting issue. I can understand this happening if the sites all had the same name, but this is not the case.
This had been a great way for our teachers to easily publish their own pages, unfortunately they won't be able to take advantage of the new features in iWeb 2, if this isssue isn't resolved. Any help would be very much appreciated.

You've got a mess on your hands with only one iDisk being used and dozens of versions of the Domain.sites2 (made by iWeb) in use.
If all used the same version of the Domain.sites2 package things would work. That would mean sharing that same file each time anyone edited it between all users.
You could do that but eventually someone will make a change and fail to move to all users and the Site could get messed up at publishing.
If all of the teachers used the same machine and user account they could also upload to one iDisk.
Last would be to publish to folder and upload using the Finder for each user. Those pages would not include some .Mac specific features.
