  • Tethering internet from my Android device doesn't work

    Hi Everybody!
    I'm trying to tether internet from my phone, everything seems to be OK, you can see it in this screeshot :
    Do not post full size images -- Inxsible
    IP address, DNS server are ok, but I don't have internet , what am I missing? I even recompile my kernel follow Geentoo wiki
    any Idea or hint?
    thanks!

    Do you know that this is an Arch problem?  I suspect it is an Android problem, in all likeliness, a problem deliberately created by your phone carrier.
    Be that as it may, does tether work on other OSes?  Also, to get my Android to tether (both USB and wireless), I had to change the iptables on the phone to allow it to route correctly from the wlan to the 3g network:
    # uname -a
    Linux localhost 2.6.37.6-cyanogenmod+ #6 PREEMPT Mon Jan 23 23:31:52 PST 2012 armv7l GNU/Linux
    # cat /data/local/userinit.sh
    echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
    iptables -P FORWARD ACCEPT
    iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o rmnet0 -j MASQUERADE
    Make a file like that, reboot, and check your iptables config.  [In case it is not obvious, I am talking of the phone itself]

  • Flash CC publish to Nexus 4 doesn't work

    Hi all,
    I'm a newbie when it comes to mobile development, but I have a lot of experience with AIR for desktop.
    I have a Google Nexus 4 and cannot get Flash CC to publish to it for a simple test. First I found that Flash CC couldn't find the device at all because it lacked the necessary drivers, and the ones provided with Flash CC were not accepted by Windows 7. I was able to find what seems to be the correct driver (Universal ADB driver) online here: https://plus.google.com/103583939320326217147/posts/BQ5iYJEaaEH
    After installing that, Flash CC was able to list my device in the AIR publish settings. I have USB debugging enabled on my Nexus 4, but when I go to publish it just gets to an indertimined progress bar that says "Publishing..." and never completes. If I cancel it, Flash CC freezes and must be killed.
    The publish settings I'm using are:
    AIR 3.6 for Android
    Android deployment type: Debug - Default
    AIR runtime: Get AIR runtime from: Google Play (I have AIR installed on the Nexus 4)
    After publishing
    - Install application on the connected Android device
    - - Launch application on the connected Android device
    - - - [Presumably my device selected... it's a string of random characters]
    On the Nexus 4 I have turned on Developer options > USB debugging, I have it plugged in and on.
    Am I missing something?
    -Aaron

    Meanwhile, could you please try restarting your machine once, just to ensure an in memory older adb is not in use.
    So, was a newer driver supposed to be installed by downloading the latest SDK? What driver should be installed?
    I simply opened Windows 7 Device Manager and did an 'Update Driver' and 'Search Automatically' and it found an update and installed it, asked me to reboot and next reboot it worked.
    I've tried to update the driver automatically and it simply says it's up to date. I've also tried to use the drivers shipped with Flash CC and Windows didn't recognize them as valid drivers at all.
    What driver did you initially install?
    -A

  • [solved] My udev rule for my Android phone doesn't work, not sure why

    I have the HTC G1 Android phone and I'm trying to get a udev rule working for it.  This is my rule ...
    /etc/udev/rules.d/50-android.rules
    SUBSYSTEM=="usb_device", SYSFS{idVendor}=="0bb4", MODE="0666", NAME=="android"
    ... but when I connect my phone, /dev/android doesn't appear.  0bb4 is correct ...
    /sys/class/usb_device/usbdev5.2/device/idVendor
    0bb4
    ... so what's going on?

    There is, but I can already use it that way.  I'm learning how to code in java so I can develop applications for it.  There's a feature in the SDK where you can install and run your code on your Android device fairly seamlessly.  You literally hit "Run" and a few moments later, your phone's going to town.  But for this to work, permissions need to be set (0666).  But my udev rule does nothing and I dont understand why.
    This is where I got this information: http://code.google.com/android/intro/de … cehardware

  • [SOLVED]mounting cdrom and usb devices doesn't work

    Hello,
    i have trouble mounting my usb devices. automount doesn't work and i can't mount them manually even as a superuser. here's the output of mount command:
    mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdc,
    missing codepage or helper program, or other error
    In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
    dmesg | tail or so
    i can mount cdrom manually but i can't do the same for my usb stick and external hard drives. it always complains about the above regardless of the filesystem. my devices are working under windows and other linuxes so i know hardware is not the problem.
    i'm using lxde with pcmanfm.
    if you need any other files just ask.
    thanks

    above was the error when i tried to mount any usb device with "mount -t <type> /dev/sdc /media/mountpoint". and i couldn't mount any usb device as root from console. when i tried to mount devices using pcmanfm it just popped some empty dialogs and i couldn't find any mention of "IsCallerPriviliged failed" error so i (wrongly) presumed it wasn't that. i did try some of the other fixes mentioned in the forum with no success. but adding exec ck-launch-session startkde to my .xinitrc fixed the issue
    thanks again

  • Auto-mounting USB storage devices doesn't work

    Hi all,
    I have some problems with the auto-mounting of USB storage devices. I already installed udisks and ntfs-3g.
    When I connect the external device (it's an external hard disk WD My Passport 500GB, but I have the same problem with a SanDisk USB stick 8GB) the auto-mount doesn't work. I see a shorcut in the left panel of Thunar but if I try to use it Thunar crash without any message error.
    I try with the manual mount and it works, but the left panel of Thunar continue to have the same problem.
    In the italian Arch forum a friend suggest me to open Thunar from bash and close it. If I do it I receive this error log:

    Hello,
    I have a bug on my Nexus 5 Android 4.4 Air 4.0.
    when I scroll the text in the textField and I select the text (in my example near "subclass" word), the TextField get focus, if I put on the backspace key, the character deleted is the previous character the first time, and if I put again on the backspace key, the caracter deleted is the first character and not the previous character.

  • Live Encoder for Mac + Shure XLR- USB device doesn't work

    I use Shure X2u to convert external microphone signal to USB audio device. MacOS sees Shure as input device in Sound Preferences. If I set "Shure Digital" as input device Garage Band records my external microphone. If I run FlashMediaLiveEncoder it records only laptop internal microphone.
    Is there a way of recording sound of external audio input device?

    It is a Cowon D2. As said, it is pretty inconsistent and sometimes works, sometimes I just get the "Preparing ..." message when copying.
    What worries me most is that I can't see the MP3 player anymore after this has happened. So the Mac must 'cache' or remember something about the device; a PC doesn't have this problem.
    So I should find a way to clear that memory or cache or mount table or whatever it is... As said, currently the only solution is the re-install the player's firmware, or use a PC

  • Just published site - navigation bar doesn't work

    Hi Everyone -
    I'm brand new here and apologize if I'm about to ask something that's been asked and answered a hundred times. I looked through the questions and found instances where navigation bars are missing once the site has been published, but my issue is different (though the solution may be the same - I don't know).
    I just published my iWeb site (www.thewordwise.com) and found a couple issues (my site doesn't fill the screen, but I'll wank about that later). My navigation bar appears properly at the top, but does not work at all. Only the Welcome page is accessible.
    In looking through the various missing navigation bar questions posed here, I would hazard a guess that not all of my pages have been properly uploaded to the hosting site I'm using (godaddy) and that the solution may be to use a third party FTP folder? This is unfortunately Greek to me.
    Any assistance would be enormously appreciated. Thank you.

    I think you'll find that your navigation menu is not working as your image is overlapping with it - The Word Wise image. An image only has to be overlapping a little and it will then not work. Move the image down so that it is clear of the nav menu and it should then work.
    As for your site name - the second is your site name in iWeb - you named your site that and you can change it so that it is not as long - do this in iWeb and then republish your site.

  • USB external mass storage devices doesn't work.

    Hey guys,
    I couldn't find any answer to my problem so I hope you can help me...
    I have USB Seagate external USB drive which was working perfectly with my mac until I installed VMware. The thing is that since first time I installed XP on VMware and unmounted my external drive from OSx and mounted in for virtual machine the drive is no longer visible in Mac OS no matter if I unmount it from virtual machine, plug/unplug from port, turn off VMware, restart macbook in any possible sequence combination. However I can use it easily in virtual machine or on other PC. Problem is not files type related, because I've already checked it, what is more I didn't format the drive and earlier it worked.
    What is more now I can't even see my pendrive despite the fact that both Seagate drive and pendrives are visible in system profiler. My USB mouse works perfectly so problem apparently is only with data storage devices.
    During the installation an error pop up concerning "IOUSBMassStorage" file but after installation of VMware everything was working until I mounted in on virtual machine.
    EDIT: I almost forgot to add that I uninstalled VMware and the problem still occurs.
    Thanks for any help in advance.

    I was trying to install update USBFamilly and now also VMware again and in both cases I get error saying that USBMassStorageClass was installed improperly.
    I found few topics about this file on the internet that it controls exactly what I have problem with but couldn't find solution for how to reinstll this file.
    Any ideas ?

  • Form_URN doesn't work for the first few times on android, and doesn't work completely on iphone.

    Dear All,
    I used approval workflow in my workflow and modified the content in the email sent by system to users. I used hyperlink to setup a clickable letter to Current Task : Form_URN.  (everything under workflow 2010 and SP 2013 online )
    After that, I initiated some new items in the list and the email got sent to users. On android phone, I was able to click on the link created by current task: Form_URN and it leads me to log in, after I log in it leads me to a black website of my sharepoint
    site. I noticed the URL is correct (which means if I use the url on my computer, it will lead me to the place I want it to be, which is the approve or reject the workflow)  after a few times of sending request, suddenly it worked on my android phone.
    (no idea what happened).  But then I did the same test on iphone, it kept leading me to the blank site, and never worked in the end, the link is still correct. Is it a browser thing? Is it possible to fix it?
    Thanks
    Timothy Liu

    You can only turn it into your local Apple store to be recycled for a 10% discount towards the purchase of a new one.  That's it though.

  • RTMP works on Android, but doesn't work on iOS!

    Hi guys,
    I'm really stuck, don't know why recently my app can't play some rtmp streamers, it can only work with some others. Previously there was no issue.
    Could you see the below peice of code. This one works fine on PC and Android, but not on iOS.
    import flash.events.*;
    import flash.media.Video;
    import flash.net.*;
    var client:MediaClient = new MediaClient();
    var connection:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
    connection.client = client;
    // connection.proxyType = "best";
    connection.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, netStatusHandler);
    connection.addEventListener(SecurityErrorEvent.SECURITY_ERROR, securityErrorHandler);
    connection.connect("rtmp://66.160.142.198/live");
    var stream:NetStream;
    var video:Video = new Video(480, 320);
    addChild(video);
    function netStatusHandler(evt:NetStatusEvent):void
       switch(evt.info.code)
           case "NetConnection.Connect.Success":
               stream = new NetStream(connection);
               stream.client = client;
               stream.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, netStatusHandler);
               stream.addEventListener(AsyncErrorEvent.ASYNC_ERROR, asyncErrorHandler);
               stream.play("vtv11");
               video.attachNetStream(stream);
               break;
           default:
               // output evt.info.code on screen
               break;
    function securityErrorHandler(evt:SecurityErrorEvent):void
       // output evt.toString() on screen
    function asyncErrorHandler(evt:AsyncErrorEvent):void
       // output evt.toString() on screen
    and here is MediaClient class:
    package
       public class MediaClient
           public function onBWDone(...args):void
               // ouput args
           public function onFI(...args):void
               // ouput args
           public function onMetaData(...args):void
               // ouput args
           public function close(...args):void
               // ouput args
    I tried to output some debug text, I saw it netconnecton was connected, the server invoked onFI() every about 2 seconds, but there's no video and sound. (tested on iOS 4, both 3G and wifi).
    I also tried alot of options of the video, netstream and netconnection classes and tried with OSMF, but can't get it work. (I'm using AIR 3.0 sdk).
    Thank you so much!

    Can you post what type of stream you're trying to view?
    There are compatibility issues with H.264 and iOS over RTMP/RTMFP.  If your video stream is H.264, then you won't be able to view it on iOS over RTMP.  In that case, though, you *should* still be able to hear the audio (depending on what audio codec you're using).

  • Bluetooth - Send to Device Doesn't work after upgrade to Mavericks

    Hi there,
    I have been trying to launch my Bluetooth - Send To Device option, the "File Browser" window would just flash and then dissappear. This has been the case after I upgraded to Mavericks.
    Any fix around?
    Also I have been facing this File Browser "Flash and Dissappear" kind of issue on Photoshop and other Apps too when I try a "Save As" or "Open" etc.
    Working on Mavericks has become a real task.
    A little help would be Appreciated.
    Thanks and Cheers!

    Hello Sigmund,
    I found an article with steps you can take when you have issues with a Bluetooth connection.  I recommend following the steps in the section titled "Top troubleshooting tips" in the following article (step 9 specifically stands out to me for the issue you described):

    I don't quite get that. When you say you shutdown your computer, do you mean you are switching your computer off?
