Publish to folder: text errors

i have discovered a frustrating pack of errors after publishing to folder:
basically there is a major issue with how text in text boxes comes up. the majority looks odd. it looks more fat, almost bold if compared with how it looks in iweb itself. i have searched the inspector for any effects e.g. shadows that would convert the text into png what i believe might have happened here.
trial-and-error:
removed justifying of text: did not fix it
created a nex text box and copy pasted text into it: did not fix it
changed from verdana to trebuchet: did not fix it
removed different font sizes by clicking entire text box and aligned one font size: did not help
please check www.honeydew/de/ar_fuego.html
scroll down to where it reads Länder- und Reiseinformationen (by the slideshow button)
here the font looks how it should like - genuine while on top of the page it looks boldish (precisely the same font types, sizes, etc. as doublechecked with inspector!!!)
and for better understanding check www.honeydew.de/ar_lanin.html
scroll down again to where it reads Länder- und Reiseinformationen (by the slideshow button)
here the font looks boldish even though the text box has been copy-pasted from the page before. (again precisely the same font types, sizes, etc. as doublechecked with inspector!!!)
www.honeydew.de/de/content.html
scroll down bottom to "neuseeland". bullets and text look different to "indien" just up to it. here again with the inspector fonts, sizes, etc. are all the same!!! this is so frustrating... i nearly cry
suggestions?
how to investigate if a text box has been converted into png?
is there a tool available that warns everytime iweb converts a text box into png?
there is to say that the domain file has been edited and edited all over for the past 3 months. all text boxes have been copy-pasted a number of times until i applied a final consistent layout all through all sites. while inspecting the published folder i found png files in the sub folders which did not match the content of that site the folder was named after.
(links here are just a smaller dummy copy)

tom, sorry the site has been replaced earlier.. pls. try again
error description: after publishing to folder text (text box) looks oddly boldish.
here the errors example: http://www.mistyrose.de
remarks: text box properties are ok - no effects like shadow etc. ticked
this workaround does the fix:
changing text boxes opacity to 99% fixes the text. it now looks genuine.
here it has been fixed: http://www.honeydew.de
however i would still appreciate experts to advice. what is happening here, why do i need to fix the text box?
one text box apparently has changed to png and i can't find the reason for it. no shadows, no backround color, etc.
the text boxes with opacity changed to 99% are fortunately still text and not png.
thank you

  • Publishing Public Folder Calendars Exchange 2013

    Hi Guys
I'm trying to publish an exchange 2013 public folder calendar. from outlook when I go to publish it give me the following error:

The correct format should look like this: "<MailboxIdentity>:<FolderPath>".
I've been searching but am unable to find any information regarding the error.
Is there something that i'm missing which would allow me to publish the calendar?
    Regards

  • Help with this ! Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2035:

    Okay,
I'm green and new to Flash and making a website so this may not be a huge issue to some.
I'm trying to make a simple image gallery  with the UI Loader.( 9 thumbnail images with main image above it)
I'm following a Lynda.com CS3 video tutorial if that helps. It seems straightforward enough.
I have everything properly assigned (buttons, the loader) and this is the basic actionscript code to get the first two images to appear:
    btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, ldr1)
    function ldr1(e:Event){
        ldr.source = "Images01.jpg";
    btn2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,ldr2)
    function ldr2(e:Event){
        ldr.source = "Images02.jpg";
When I test the movie I get this error :
Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
I have the flash file and the swf file saved in the same folder as the images (as the video instructs) but it seems Flash cannot read or find my external hard drive. I also remade the file and resaved everything on my computers main hard drive and it still cannot find my folder.
Please help. I know this is probably an easy issue but again, I'm new and any help would be great.
    Thanks,
    Mike

I'm not familiar with the way you're loading images (what class is "ldr" an instance of?), but the error is straightforward. You somehow misspelled the image name (caps, maybe in the extension?) or you're referring to a folder that doesn't contain that image.
I usually debug these kind of errors with Tamper Data, an addon for Firefox. Run it, then run your sfw (in a browser) and see what the location is of the called images. That should give you an idea on what's going wrong.
Oh and btw, e is not an Event but a MouseEvent. Though I don't think that produced the error in this case.

  • Cannot publish to MobileMe.   Error says, "iWeb couldn't connect to MobileMe. Make sure your Internet connection works and try again."  Connection is OK!

My site will publish to a folder, but will not publish to MobileMe.   Error says, “iWeb couldn’t connect to MobileMe. Make sure your Internet connection works and try again.“  Connection is OK!

Thank you Alancito for your reply.  The recent post you suggested was not necessary because another of your suggestions did the trick:  https://discussions.apple.com/message/11503337#11503337  In effect, it seems to have reestablished my connection to my MobileMe account, and my iWeb site now publishes on MobileMe.
My next step will be to transfer my iWeb site to another Personal Web Provider when MobileMe ceases to exist next June.  Any recommendations for a simple PWP?
    Thank you very much,

  • When I publish to folder, the 'blank' pages are a mess

When I 'publish to folder' everything is fine, except for the 'blank' pages.
I've put lots of word on the blank pages, and underlined, done the letters in different colours etc. But on the published blank pages, they're a mess. The words are all different sizes and colours, loads of letters are underlined, they're all over the place.
On the original pages, I have neat paragraphs, it looks all tidy, all laid out nicely.
Why does this happen? It's driving me nuts!
    Please help!

Blank pages are for doing anything you want. Add text, images etc and put them anywhere.
I always start from a blank "Black" or "White template and never use any other theme.
For web safe colors, open the color window in any application and go to the swatches icon at the top - that's the middle icon. Click on Palette: and select "Web Safe Colors.
This page will give you a better idea....
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/WebMusic/FontsandColors.html
This site is made from blank pages and doesn't use the default iWeb navigation as it is built in sections and all the individual ones are reached from the main menu via external links.

  • How to publish to an FTB server in iWeb 2 using the File ➙ Publish to Folder option??

I was just given the following advice regarding publishing to an FTP other than MobileMe.
Web 08 does not have that feature (drop down menu to publish from "site" icon).  You will need to upgrade to iWeb 3 in iLife 11 in order to get that feature.  You can get iLife 11 at the online Apple Store while supplies last since iWeb (and iDVD) have been discontinued by Apple
To pubish to an FTB server in iWeb 2 use the File ➙ Publish to Folder menu option and then use a 3rd party FTP client like Cyberduck to upload the site files.
Follon-on question, can anyone provide more details on how to do exactly what was suggested?  I toyed with it and can only get it to publish to a folder on my desktop, but not to an external FTP.  (I have already purchased a web-host package, just need to publish to it!)

Okay.  When you publish your site from iWeb to a local folder what you will get is one site folder - this site folder will have the same name as you gave your site in iWeb and one separate index.html file.
Your site folder contains an index.html file as well as the separate index.html file.  You NEED both.
What you need to do is firstly using Cyberduck or whatever, upload your site folder to your host into whatever folder you need to upload to on the server - could be 'public_html', 'htdocs' or whatever - this is your root folder.
You then need to upload your separate index.html file to your server too, but this index file needs to sit outside your site folder because it needs to point in towards the index.html file that is in your site folder - this is the first page of your site.
You don't delete or duplicate any index files - iWeb produces the two index files that you need when you publish to a local folder - one index file in the site folder itself and one separate index file that sits outside the site folder and points into the first page of your site.
Also, remember to call the first page of your site something like Home or Welcome, but DO NOT name it index.
By the looks of things here you have not uploaded your index files correctly.
What I would suggest that you do is start over - so open Cyberduck and connect to your server and go and delete your site folder and your other index file if it is still there.
Go back to iWeb and publish to a local folder again and notice that you have both your site folder and separate index.html file.
Now go and open Cyberduck again and connect to your server and note where you need to upload your files to.
Now go and upload your Site Folder to your server and once this has finished go back and upload your separate index.html file, but this needs to sit outside your site folder.  If you do this, then your site should display okay - as long as your other index file is pointing into to the first page of your site it should display correctly.

  • CS5 - Text format for classic text error

will now have to re-edit every part.
Clearly you can get around this by other formats but fact is if you have a document that has negative spacing dont open it in CS5 cause you
This may have been in recent update.
Flash now resets them when you open the file to 0, if you notice or not.
when you have negative (-20) set in spacing, usually used when you have margins.
    Classic Text Error
    Flash CS5

    Here's a workaround.
FixTextIndent is a class with static methods that
provides a workaround for the Flash CS5 text formatting
bug.  The Flash CS5 IDE will not remember the text
indent setting for either static or dynamic text fields.
We can set the indent in Actionscript for dynamic fields,
so to use this class, convert your fields to dynamic,
    then set the left margin.
When you call FixTextIndent methods, they will set
the indent to the negative of the left margin.

  • Mobile Account Home Folder syn error

I have a macbook pro client syncing its home folder with a mac mini with lion osx server. if i have iTunes running on the client, i get a home folder sync error that there was a problem syncing the file "iTunes library.itl". There home folder syn works fine if itunes is not running on the client.
Any suggestions to allow me to keep itunes running while home folder syncs take place?

Hi, the only workaround I know of, is to uncheck the library folder from syncing, ANYTHING running live while the home folder is syincing (MS office for example, it's DB is in your docs folder, will cause a sync error, as well as iphoto.. etc.. the only other way to fix this, is to set it to sync manually at login & logout. I wish my issues were that easy

  • Does my iDisk website folder have the same contents as the folder created with Publish to Folder?

Should I make a back up of the website folder on iDisk?  Is this folder the same as the Domain.sites2 folder in the Library?
Is it the same as the folder that's created when I click Publish to Folder in iWeb?  It's so confusing - from where should I save, copy, or backup
my website?  Thanks for clearing this up.

The folder on iDisk is the published files - the Domain.sites2 has the unpublished data.
The published files on the iDisk aren't much use to you since you need to republish your site to a new server directly from iWeb or via a local folder and FTP.

  • Keep getting "renderable text" error when I need to OCR PDF's from FrameMaker.

My solution has been to individually extract all those pages, then open them up in Photoshop, flatten them and
widen the canvas size to standard 8.5 x 11.
But that's a little tedious and time-consuming and you have to delete the original page from your document, after
    importing the OCR-friendly page.
Is there a printer definition, or something you can set up when you're generating your PDF's in the first place,
that will get rid of that annoying "renderable text" error?

    Ok...
I don’t know how it happens but after I save my work in FrameMaker or MS Word, and print
to PDF for the final output, there are often pages with text in them that isn’t recognizable,
or that can’t be found with a CTRL+F search.
That is a serious issue, and one we might be able to help you with, but really, quite separate from the issue here. It's too late to try and fix this once it is a PDF.
What is it that’s lost when OCR is run?
Quality. Small file size. Tags (which might be required legally). Almost everything except the basic text, and that might also be lost given that OCR is not guaranteed to work. This is NOT the right way to solve your problem.
The translator doesn’t have any Adobe products except Reader, so I’m limited to Acrobat
to show her how the words and pictures are laid out on a page.
In order for her to copy and paste that text – or search it, to find all of the places where the
same word might be used – I need to make sure every word is there for her to grab.
I have heard of translators trying to work with PDFs, and few that succeed. You can reasonably expect a transation service to support FrameMaker. But if they don't I recommend you extract the text from FrameMaker to a simple Word or text file. They should be fine using the PDF as a visual reference, and having the text to translate, and for you to flow back into the original layout. (Again, something I'd expect a full service translation to do themselves, but there are advantages to keeping control too).
Those were the 2 pages that gave the ‘renderable text’ error. Don’t ask me why or how, they
look like all the other pages in that document. Except Acrobat thinks they’re scanned graphics,
that’s how they present when you wave the cursor around in them, hunting for text.
Renderable text is just text. It means that somewhere on that page there is text. Surely there is layout, page numbers, whatever from FrameMaker on the pages. If not, we really need to look at your production methods - back to the first point.

To help figure out what's wrong, you can use an absolute path to your SWF files. (Such as "C:/Program Files/My Project/MySWF.swf") If the error goes away, then the filename is correct and there is simply some confusion as to where the local path is. Remember that the parent project (your main.swf) should be in the exact same directory as the SWFs being loaded)

  • Overset text error can't resolve

    Hi
I'm in ID CS5, and have an overset text error that I can't get to grips with. It says "Overset text: 1 characters" in the preflight box, and I've got a red box with a + sign at the exit to that page's text box. I've tried grabbing the existing text with the cursor and then using click plus alt, shift, and alt/shift to get whatever's overset to flow into the next page somehow, but nothing appears. The text I flowed to begin with is all there - that is to say the text finishes half a page clear of the end of the text frame and the cursor doesn't want to progress any further down any returns or spaces that are hiding there. Any suggestions as to whether this is a bug, or more likely an obvious point I've missed?
    Thanks.

Story editor has only hide/show changes option available, and doesn't appear to shed any light. When I pick up the supposedly overset text from the red +sign box on the left hand page and then flow it into the right hand page, I get the blue diagonal flow link line to indicate that the text is flowing, but all that I seem to be creating is an otherwise empty text frame on the right hand page (with an empty blue box at the bottom right to indicate that there's no more overset text), but this leaves me with a blank page for no reason. Aaagh!

    Thanks.

This is due to the absense of unit/currency against the key figure in the info provider.
Maitain the currency/unit and then run the report. This should rectify the report error.

  • I want to publish a simple text animation transparent but keep getting a black background?

I want to publish a simple text animation transparent but keep getting a black background?

trouble is, it's not always that straight forward if the initial animation has not been set to a transparent background, as you cant simply change/update the poster.png
What I mean is, if the poster has been saved as non transparent once, the only wayto update it,  is to physically open the file and make it transparent, even then it doesnt always work especially working with OAM's
    hope that also helps
