Publish to MobileMe

Hi,
I have an iPhone 3G running 3.0, I don't know whether this is an issue with 3.0 as I never tried doing it before I updated the phone. I am trying to publish some pictures to one of my MobileMe galleries, the iPhone will find the gallery I want to publish to but unless I am on Wi-Fi it will not publish the picture. I have contacted O2 and they say that I should be able to publish a picture using GPRS, EDGE or 3G but the only way I have managed to do it is using Wi-Fi. when I try to publish the picture using the mobile network I get a message saying "unable to publish to MobileMe" Has anyone else experienced this? or does anyone have a suggestion to resolve it? Thanks in advance

  • ICal not publishing to MobileMe

    Simple problem:
Trying to publish my home calendars to MoblieMe.
When I select a calendar from ON MY MAC, then select CHANGE LOCATION and choose PUBLISH ON MOBILEME, then hit PUBLISH ... it says the calendar has been published.
But when I choose VISIT PAGE, I get a dialogue box with the message "We're sorry but we cannot find the iCal you've requested. It's possible that it has been deleted or renamed."
Sure enough, no matter how many times I hit SYNC or PUBLISH (in any number of ways) ... the calendar never shows up.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks muchly,

Unfortunately, I am also seeing this annoying Apple bug.... Published an iCal calendar to the web, to "MobileMe" as iCal offers, whereupon it proudly announces the URLs to subscribe or view the calendar... each link leads to:
We're sorry but we cannot find the iCal you've requested.
It's possible that it has been deleted or renamed.
A similar false announcement is made when you publish a movie from iMovie to YouTube, where Apple announces the movie is published and you wait an hour assuming YouTube it taking its time, only to find out the movie never uploaded. That one can blame on YouTube (third party) making some change Apple (still?) does not know about... but iCal on a Mac publishing to an Apple service giving the same false positives is beyond lame.

  • IWeb Update - Publishing to MobileMe Problem

After running the 3.0.2 update I tested the app and all was well - or so I thought!
I don't use MobileMe much and decided to test the claim that it "resolves some issues related to publishing sites to MobileMe". Well, of course, publishing to MobileMe wouldn't work.
I resolved this by quitting, deleting the plist - Home Folder/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWeb.plist. - relaunching and resetting the preferences. I also logged out and back in to MobileMe for good measure.
I never had any problem with uploading to MobileMe before this update. I wasn't even going to bother installing it because I never use the blog or podcast. I only installed it because I saw that another user had problems with iWeb not launching properly after running the update and thought I would see if I could replicate it.
Maybe one day we will get an iWeb update that actually works as advertised and contains something useful?

After I went through the steps mentioned above the published site had a few items missing in the header.
I published to a local folder to test it and this was OK. Then I re uploaded to MobileMe and this version worked.
I only use MobileMe for test sites so this glitch is not a disaster to me.
It would be worth while creating a small test site to troubleshoot this issue rather than using your main site.
I don't use the blog or podcast so I have no idea if there are any problems in that area.

  • Instead of publishing to mobileme, iWeb simply crashes

I publish to mobileme, and it just freezes and becomes unresponsive...HELP!

A first line fix is to close iWeb, delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple. iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iWeb and see if that helps.

  • IWeb Publish Error - A lock occurred while publishing to MobileMe

iWeb Publish Error - A lock occurred while publishing to MobileMe. Try publishing again later.
I've tried all articles so far on apple support site. Tried on new OS user and publishing to folder and publishing a test page. I still get an error. Publishing to folder works fine, its just when I publish to MobileMe. Also tried different network and restarting computer etc.
    Help me. Thanks.

If you are logged in OK maybe you should look at your Keychain.
    Finer/Go/Utilities/Keychain Access.app.
Try "Keychain First Aid" from the "Keychain Access" drop down menu.

  • Publishing to MobileMe fails

Not sure what to do here because, MobileMe (formerly dotMac) has worked, all be it slowly, but seamlessly.
I'm trying to publish a modest number of images to a gallery (50 images) prepared for optimized download capabilities. I've done this many, many, many times in the past without issue and typical galleries are several hundred large.
    Order of operations:
Place adjusted images in a MobileMe Gallery and select sync
Aperture's Activity monitor shows that syncing is taking place, percentages climb as syncing moving forward, until...
Then at 100% sync, there is a hang and after a period of time, I get the message:
"An error occurred with the publication of album "Cheri Abrams" - Request to the server http://publish.me.com failed.
It is clear that Aperture has published an empty gallery with the name I gave to the gallery I was attempting to publish evidenced by visiting my MobileMe Gallery Albums page.
Can anyone point me in a direction to fix this?
Note: I know about not using stacks when publishing and I've also tried the work around of opening MobileMe preferences in Aperture while trying to publish as several others have documented that for some reason that little dance works.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Wait until the storm is over
Verify in 'System Preferences / MobilMe / Account' that your are logged in to MobileMe,
Locate the file 'com.apple.iWeb.plist' in 'user(you) / Library / Preferences' , delete it (after making a Back-Up ! So that you can restore it if this tip doesn't work for you),
    Open iWeb,
Verify that iWeb is logged in to MobileMe,
    Do a 'publish to MobileMe'
    Does that work ?

  • Publishing to MobileMe Error

I spent 4 hours with 5 different Apple support techs trying to figure out why my site wasn't publishing to my personal domain. I got a lot of different answers, most assuming that my CNAME set up with my domain name's registrar was improperly configured. I was able to view my site at www.web.me.com/myname/mydomain.org/Home.html but NOT at www.mydomain.org. So my site was publishing and viewable but I needed it under mydomain.org, the solution was so simple I don't know how 3 MobileMe techs and one iWeb tech failed to figure it out (MobileMe support agent Bonifacio L. had the answer 5 minutes into our chat)
When you have iWeb open, the bar on the left lists all the sites you've created. The one I was publishing was the last on the list by default (most recently created). I hadn't published any of the other sites, they were all for practice. The solution was to move the site I wanted published to the top of the list and republish it. This instantly fixed my problem and my site is now at mydomain.org.
I just wanted to post this so because I can't imagine I'm the only one to ever have this problem. The fact that it took 5 techs to solve the problem is ridiculous and if I can save somebody else the hassle than maybe it was worth it. I also sent a detailed email to Apple asking them to make sure their techs know this fix.
    Good Luck!

Welcome to the discussions. Looking at this forum's main list, it appears not. And MobileMe's +"System Status"+ at the upper right HERE currently indicates +"All MobileMe services are online."+

Is that the exact text of the error message you're seeing? If not, perhaps it's this:
"There was an error updating MobileMe"
...which is mentioned in this Apple doc:

And +"A lot of problems can be solved simply by..."+ Read more in the "Fix iWeb" section here:

  • IWeb Images and Assets Switched Around After Publishing to MobileMe

    Hello,
A few days ago a podcast I am hosting started acting odd. If I add a new graphic element to the site, ALL graphic elements get moved around, stretched, rotated, etc.
This DOESN'T happen when I publish to a folder.
I managed to do some workarounds so that the site looks "useable" but all of my borders and colors are moved around. After digging through, I managed to find what goes wrong.
Here is a screenshot of the homepage published to disk: http://imgur.com/p35EZ.png
and here it is published to mobileme: http://web.me.com/ksnowsb108/PhuketSpring_Podcasts/Main_Page/MainPage.html
You can see its not so bad because I tweaked it a lot, but if I so much as add anything, ALL of the photos get rotated around, I get a red arrow instead of the top left building photo, etc.
As I said earlier, I found the problem, but I can't fix it yet. For some reason, when publishing to mobileme the "shapeimage_#.png" files get out of sync. Here is what I mean: http://imgur.com/xcCpP.png
As you can see, shapeimage_7.png corresponds to a red arrow when published to disk, however it shows up as the blue arrow in mobileme. So right now it's not fatal, but one more shift and then the yellow text box will appear instead of the arrow, etc.
Please please please tell me you have a solution! This podcast gets around 5,000 hits daily and it's embarrassing! I know I should not use iWeb for these things but it was a dire emergency.
I have tried going into Sites folder and deleting/reuploading, deleting cache, and preferences. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
    Thank you very, very much!

It CAN be site destroying. The only way I've found to fix it myself is to delete and recreate the page. But that is time consuming and if you do that, you have to then remember to clear your cache or you REALLY get a jumbled mess. But doesn't that then mean that visitors to your site get the same jumble unless they too remember or know how to clear their own cache? Even that doesn't fix the original problem though. And yes, it sounds like we are experiencing the same thing. Seems like others should be as well... do you update the site a lot too? Maybe people don't update as much as we do and don't see it...? Very frustrating and I hope they find an answer...

  • Iweb publishing to mobileme

When I create a website in iweb '09 (3.0.1) and publish to mobileme, is there a way to have the website be hppt://mywebsitename.com or does it need to be http://web.me.com/mymobilemeaccountname/iweb/mywebsitename??

    Buy a domainname.
To use a domainname, follow the instructions in your MobileMe account where you setup Personal Domain:
    https://secure.me.com/account/
Where you'll find a link to [iWeb: Using your own domain name |http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1107]
Or read it in the [MobileMe help|http://help.apple.com/mac/1/help> : Account > Setting up a Personal Domain
There's [a forum dedicated to MobileMe, Personal Domain and iWeb|http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1163]. Though it works with other applications as well.

When the prompt pops up next time you start iPhoto select Learn more. Then click on iPhoto preferences and select the Accounts tab. Delete your MM account and the quit iPhoto. Next time you open iPhoto the problem should be eliminated.

  • Cannot publish to MobileMe - "Cannot Connect To Server"

I want to publish some of my albums to MobileMe, but when I try to do so I get an error message the the effect that it cannot connect to the server. I have published several other albums successfully, but I have three that won't make the journey no matter what I do. The album "placeholder" is established in MobileMe, but they contain no pictures.
What I do is to open the album in Aperture, then "select all" of the pictures in that album, then attempt to publish to MobileMe by clicking the MobileMe icon in the menu bar.
This has happened repeatedly for several attempts. Any ideas?

I've had that once. I used the same name for 2 images. Aperture handles it no problem, but I couldn't upload it to mobile me... After renaming 1 of the images the problem was solved...

  • Publish to MobileMe did not

I selected the images, defined the layout and format of the web page and selected the Publish to MobileMe button.
Aperture went through the motions of creating the images and web pages and then stopped - no upload to the iDisk carried out.
So I did the Export Web page process and copied the created web pages and Images to iDisk - Sites folder using Finder.
There might actually be a benefit in doing this process this way as I now have the Web structure to copy to CD etc for non web based distribution.

MMe doesn't exist.  You can still publish a blog created with iWeb to an FTP server BUT you can't have visitors add comments to the blog.  That feature was tied to the MMe servers and is no longer available.
A comment feature can be added to an iWeb site by using a 3rd party commenting service like Disqus: Disqus Comment in a Scrolling iFrame. The link takes you to an example of adding Disqus to a website.
With iWeb 2 you'll have to publish your site to a folder on your hard drive and upload the site folder and its external index.html file to the server with a 3rd party FTP client like Transmit, xCyberduck or YummyLite.
Be aware that iWeb 2 is not compatibnle with Mt. Lion so if you intend to upgrate to Mt. Lion sometime in the future you'll need to upgrade to iWeb 3 thru the purchase of an iLife 09 or 11 disk from a 3rd party vendor like Amazon.com or eBay. com.

  • Cannot publish to MobileMe?

    Hi guys,
Have used Mobile Me in the past to upload iWeb sites with a movie. Usually no problem, but now it is saying that it has published, but when I try the link it says 'page not found'.
Also when I try to look at previous movie on a PC using Firefox or Internet Explorer, I can see the web page and the movie box, and can hear the audio - but no picture!
Please help - it is driving me mad!!
    Stephen

Besides the wrong title of the post "Cannot publish to MobileMe?" (Yes you can) the question is:
why do you publish a wall-to-wall video (1280x720) of 53.2MB and display it as a thumbnail (533x300) on the page?
I exported it for iPhone and now the video is 480x270 and 13,4MB.
but on a pc - just audio, no movie

  • Request to server failed-message I get when trying to publish to MobileMe

Hi-I am having issues with my iPhoto '09 publishing to MobileMe Gallery. I have had 2 chats with MobileMe technicians and after a lengthy discussion it appears that it's a problem with iPhoto '09. I get a message that the request to server failed. It attempts to publish but then I get that message.
In talking with the MobileMe guys I tried all sorts of things: logging in to MobileMe with a test MobileMe user name and password; tried publishing just one photo; I had repaired permissions already; logged out of my main admin account and logged into a test user account (this was the only method that worked to publish) and; uploaded pictures from my MobileMe Gallery to iPhoto (this worked). There were all sort of other tricks I tried but I can't remember them all.
I should mention that earlier this week I had an issue that resulted in me having to do an Erase and Install of my operating system. My MBP had an "Invalid Node Structure." I restored my stuff from my Time Machine backup and all seems to be working fine except for publishing to MobileMe. I also installed the 10.6.2 Combo update thinking that maybe there was a small piece missing from the update I did via Software Update. It didn't make any difference.
I also used my husband's MacBook to see if I could publish from his iPhoto '08 and yes, I was able to.
The last MobileMe guy I talked to said to talk to Apple but since I am not home and don't have my case number with me, I thought I'd try posting here first.
I have some great pictures of my grandson that are just waiting for my family to see so I would be grateful if someone could help me. One thing I was wondering is that when I installed my operating system, I did not install any apps from the Application disk-could that be the problem? Well, anyway, any help would be appreciated! Judy

Let me summarize what you've tried:
    1 - deleted iPhoto's pref file.
2 - cleared the cache by logging out of MMe (System/MMe preference pane), logging in with bogus username and password which clears the cache and then logging back in with the correct username and password.
logged out of my main admin account and logged into a test user account (this was the only method that worked to publish) and; uploaded pictures from my MobileMe Gallery to iPhoto (this worked).
That indicates that there's something amiss with your primary account that is causing the problem. It could be a preference file other than iPhoto's. Here's how to determine if that's the case:
    Trouble Shooting Preferences in Leopard
1 - Create a folder titled "Preferences A" on the Desktop.
2 - Open the working Preferences folder, HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences, and move the contents to the Preferences A folder on the Desktop.
3 - With the working Preferences folder empty run the application again and determine if the problems is fixed.
NOTE: you may have to drag the contents of the working folder to the trash and empty if moving the contents to the A folder only copies them instead of moving.
4 - If the problem is fixed:
A - open the working Preferences folder (HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences).
B - Open the Preferences A folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Preferences folder.
C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace button.
5 - If the problem is NOT fixed, empty the working Preferencess folder and move the contents of the Preferences folder on the desktop back into it.

This is to do with the .htaccess file on your server.
You either need to deal with this and open it with an html editor or change your web host.
Do a search of this forum and there are plenty of posts that relate to parse error and .htaccess pages.  Have a look on the right hand side of this post and you will see similar ones like yours.
