Publish Workbook Access

I'm trying to track down what gives a user access to Publish a workbook into a role. For example we have created a fi-controlling role and I need to limit access to publish into this role. I don't want just anybody saving into this role.
Any help at all will be rewarded with points.

Hi Richard,
You can create what is known as (or may be we call it as) a Workbook Change Role. This will contain S_USER_AGR with the Role Name as the Role to which workbooks are saved and Activity to Create, Change, Display and Delete. This role can then be assigned to users as required.

I have 6 queries in one workbook(all queries in the same sheet) and I want to publish this workbook in EP using WEB Applications or some other way.How can I do this?I never worked on publishing workbook in EP..
and the user wants to see all the queries in the workbook as a web report, instead of excel report.
Please it is very URGENT!!

Hi pnk,
It is not possible to publish a workbook the way you want in the portal, as workbooks are based on Excel. You can however execute the report in the BEx Analyzer or use precalculation and afterwards save this in the knowledge management database of the portal and access it in this way. This does however require that the you have BEx Analyzer installed on the frontend, as it will not open the workbook in the internet browser.

Copy role with published workbooks on it

Hi,
i have a role with 30 workbooks on it and i want to copy the role to another one and
restrict the access to just 25 workbooks, but when i copy the role the published workbooks
are not copied to the new role.
What's the best way to do this ?

when trying to enter the shared folders
after installing the Oracle BI EE 10.1.3.4.1

change the biee to work with LDAP

I am working with tleiba.
We have tried to work as described above
BI Server ==> LDAP <== XMLP Server (BI PUB)
and maybe because we are using Microsoft Active Directory it didn't worked (I am not sure it is related to which A/D or LDAP mechanism we are using, but it failed we kept getting configuration error)
so we gave up (anyone succeeded with MS A/D ?)
now we are working with the local publisher security and creating local users and permissions (and of course this is working)
all but one thing:
When we are trying to create new report in the "Data Model" -> NEW and in the TYPE we choose "ORACLE BI Answers".
in the details when we try opening the Catalog we are getting :
"Oracle BI Catalog
BI Catalog Home
Empty catalog.
regarding configuration in :Admin>Oracle BI Presentation Services under Integration we have used the following:
Server Protocol - http
Server Version - v4
* Server - <full server name with domain >
* Port - 80

Error When Publishing "no access to internet (internet module not loaded)"

When publishing a site in GoLive 9 I get the message""no access to internet (internet module not loaded)".
i've never had this problem before, this just started happening and cant figure out how to get it to work again. it's weird because i can connect to my ftp server from the file menu and the internet module is checked on in my preferences. i've tried creating a new site file for my webpages and reinstalling GoLive and nothing has worked.
has anybody had the same problem? thx!

ha, ok i just figured it out. i didn't have the proper ftp setting in the publish preferences. i hadn't changed the info in the "server name" from the place holder text that was automatically inserted. that's a strange error message to display for that!!!

Cannot publish workbook into role

Hi all,
I need to publish a workbook into an existing role. However, this is not possible. I see the role menu when I "save workbook as", but I do not see any of the existing workbooks in this tree and I also cannot save to any of the roles. Can anyone point me to the authorization that is missing?

S_USER_AGR: Authorizations: Role check
In the field Activity, include the value 22 (Enter, Include, Assign) for to save workbooks.
In the field Role Name, you should put specific role name which you need.
S_USER_TCD: Transactions in roles
In the field Transaction Code have RRMX "*"

Is it possible to publish a workbook in portal without installing BI front end,
I created a workbook where i want to publish in EP , where In EP i can able to see the workbook but it may not possible to install bi front end in soomany end users , for that any solution is there for publishing the workbook in EP with out installing front end.

Login prompt showing up on mobile devices on publishing anonymous access website

We have a website that is a publishing site using anonymous access. The website works fine except on a mobile device a login prompt pops up. if you press cancel the website works fine. It only happens if you go to the homepage. I
have ensured everything is checked in etc. Is there anyway to find out why this is happening?

For your issue, try to disable the mobile view:
Go to Site settings => Manage site feature => deactivate "Mobile Browser View"

Workbook Access

Other than sharing workbooks with other users, does anyone know if as an Administrator you can see all the workbooks in the current EUL. To explain further, I want to be able to log in to PLUS as Administrator and see all workbooks created, regardless of the workbook owner, do you know if this can be done?

Hi,
You cannot open a workbook created by another user unless that user has shared the workbooks with you. However, you can create a BA/Folder/Workbook over the EUL5_DOCUMENTS table and that will allow you to see all the workbooks that have been created in the EUL.
You can also write a script to share all the workbooks in the EUL with a administrator user.

Publishing bw workbooks to the portal

I am trying to find out what portal role a bw designer would need in order to publish workbooks\queries to KM in the portal and also to publish reports as an iview. We have a few bw folks who are trying to accomplish this. In the portal I had assigned them to Business Planning, Business Explorer and Business Intelligence roles as well as Content Admin adn System admin roles. They said they tried to publish a bw workbook to the portal but were not able to, so for the heck of it I made some of them super admins and then they were able to publish the reports to the portal. I do not want to leave them as super admins, but I cannot find any documention on sap help that tells me what portal roles they should be in.

You need to investigate why the developers were able to publish the reports when thy were assigned the super admin role.
Even in our landscape some of the BW developers are publishing BW reports , as of now we have assigned them Contnet Admin role. and they are doing fine with that.

Publishing cancels with "access denied" error when publishing updates to desktop layout

Hello, all,
Wondering if anyone else has run into this issue: we update and republish our help projects frequently. We're currently using a layout based on the desktop layout (colors, fonts, and some other screen elements have changed). The project generates successfully. We publish via file transfer and have the "republish all" setting selected. Sometimes when we publish our multiscreen HTML5 layout, it cancels about halfway through the estimated time with a "publishing cancelled - access denied" error. If we delete the layout folder ("desktop" in this case) from the publishing location and retry publishing, it succeeds.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, what fixes (other than deleting content and republishing) have you found?
FYI, we also publish the same projects to the WebHelp Pro layout without any issues.

This problem used to occur with Publishing from Rh but I have not seen it for a long time, either myself or in posts.

General inquiry - Why ar .Mac and publishing/accessing iWeb sites so slow??

I do realize that that general topic has been addressed somehow many times, in whole or in parts. I am just shooting for a general update on the subject(s).
I have grown fond of iWeb and just renewed my .Mac subscription. I am also a user of Dreamweaver and FrontPage. I just find the iWeb/.Mac combination so straight forward and... irresistible fun to play with!
BUT, before i commit more to that environment, I need to know - again:
1. Why is .Mac/iDisk so slow in access?
2. Correspondingly, publishing to .Mac and iDisk is slow. Why, actually?
3. Difficulties in accessing iWeb sites published to .Mac/iDisk when using InternetExplorer (which, whether we want it or not, IS the predominant browser out there...). We know Firefox is better at it.
4. Ultimately, would publishing iWeb sites to other servers (I have a couple of non-iWeb websites currently hosted elsewhere) make publishing AND accessing such sites speedier?
I will appreciate any advice, input, assessment.

I think it's because it's more a social server with a lot of server side features available for .Mac users and iLife applications. Therefore there's a fair amount of server work when users use it for email, web sites with slideshows, backing up, etc. A commercial server will be much faster. There are othesr here that know more about servers than I and can give you a more technical explanation. But you're right, it is slow but convenient.

How To Register Adobe As A Trusted Publisher to Microsoft Access 2007

I am a Microsoft Access developer, and I recently wrote an application that opens PDF documents from within Microsoft Access. The documents are opened using Adobe Reader. Every time it opens a document, I receive a security warning. I am using the Hyperlink Method from within VBA. In the Microsoft Access 2007 Trust center, Adobe is not on the "Trusted Publisher" list. Does anyone know how to make Adobe a trusted publisher? From within Access, there does not seem to be a way to "Add Trusted Publisher". It all has to do with Security Certificates.

Workbook Transport and Publishing in a Role

Hi,
I created a Workbook with some precalculacted queries.
I transported the queries and Workbook to Quality System from Development.
I don't want to publish workbook in any ROLE untill it is test in Quality.
In development it is currently under Favorites,When i transported it to Quality,I can't able to find the workbook under Favorites
and also
How can i publish a workbook in roles

Hi there,
The favourites are dependent by each client, therefore, in development you'll see that workbook in the favourites and after transporting only the workbook you cannot find it in the favourites.
To open it in quality system simply click on the find button and search the workbook by its description.
After to assign it to a role (publish it), simply open the workbook in development and choose save as... of the BEx toolbar and select the role where you want to save it. Afterwards transport the role to quality (the workbook was already transported before).
Remember that to save the workbook to a role in development you need to have that particular role assigned to your user (only the roles assigned to your user in development are the roles available when you choose save as...)
