Published HTML files aren't linked to my URL

When I publish my dreamweaver files to my FTP, they are
accessible if I type in the entire path name (eg.,
http://www.zebragraphicsllc.com/Zebra_home.html),
but not the URL(
http://www.zebragraphicsllc.com).
I am sure there is a simple solution, but I can't seem to figure it
out.
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Flash Player Security error when publishing HTML files

    I am new to the Captivate world and am just in love with the
    features - but I have been having a very difficult time publishing
    my "movies". I have 8 files that are all called upon in one movie
    (like a table of contents). I have abandon the though of publishing
    each as an EXE file - and have decided to go the HTML route.
    However when I try to run the published HTML file I get an Adobe
    Flash Player Security error - saying "Adobe Flash Player has
    stopped a potentially unsafe operation." It then says that the
    local SWF file is trying to communicate with the Internet-enabled
    HTM file.
    Can someone please tell me what this means? We are using
    Captivate for distance learning as well as internal - so I can't
    know for sure what the end-users will be using when the files are
    used.
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to our community, Rachel
    Where are you running your movie from? If you are planning on
    running them from a server, there should be no need to worry about
    your end user seeing those messages. However, if you are planning
    on each user copying them to their own hard drive or if you are
    running from a CD-ROM, you may need to perform some trickery to
    make them work without issue.
    The message is occurring because there are links in some of
    the files that point to internet resources and the Flash player is
    seeing that as a potential security risk. So it is blocking the
    action until you pat it on the head and assure it the world will
    not, in fact, end if it shows you the content.
    If you wish to banish the screen on your PC, take a look at
    the tutorial linked below.

    I'll hold off on the other bit until I'm certain what we are
    dealing with.

  • Publishing external files and their links when all project is published on CD

    I am restricted to publishing my whole project on CD. The project is divided up into lessons (individual projects), which I link to each lesson by creating a button to link to a URL/file and link to the html file. In select lessons, I have SWF's, PDF's that I link to a new window and not continue playing the project.
    How do I set up a whole project to link to consecutive lessons as well as SWF's and PDF's that all have to reside on the CD?
    I'm at a loss because my links end up being broken when I publish to a CD...

    Hello again
    In a perfect world we would see that there would be no issues with linking. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world.
    In Captivate 3, you could create a link to an asset such as a Microsoft Word document, Adobe PDF document, Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or whatever. Once you did this, you simply ensured that the asset was in the same folder as the Captivate output linking to it. Most of the time things just worked. But sometimes we saw that instead of opening the asset, the browser opened and couldn't find it. The odd part of all this was that the address listed in the browser address bar was actually correct. And if you just clicked there and pressed Enter, voilà! The asset popped open.
    In Captivate 3 you had a companion application called MenuBuilder. This application was intended to be used to link to assorted files. It was like a Captivate that was very limited in scope. It created what I refer to as "one slide wonders". I discovered this application could help when you needed to create a link that would work.
    Do you have Captivate 3 handy? If so, you may be able to use the companion MenuBuilder application to overcome some limitations.
    If you don't happen to have it handy, shoot me an E-Mail message at rstone75 (at) kc (dot) rr (dot) com and tell me the exact file names you need to link to. I'll be happy to create some small SWF files and send them back that will help with the linking.
    Hopefully this was helpful... Rick

  • I can't open a HTML file with flash linked

    I have Flash CS3.  I have created a flash file.  If I click on the SWF file I have no problems opening it.  It plays.  It looks nice.  I'm the man.
    However, now when I try to publish it, the HTML file will not work.  It says "windows cannot find this file, please ensure you have typed the location correctly".
    I am double clicking directly on the file and not typing anything, in fact I was considering checking on Ebay to see if I could upgrade my PC to have eyes.
    The feature has worked previously, which leads me to the conclusion that something else has changed.  I have tried using the publish setting, I have also tried using Dreamweaver to embed the file, and have also tried manually inserting the necessary code after seeing some on a website.
    All of these things produce the same result, windows cannot (or will not) find the necessary file.
    It's an odd one, and very frustrating, can anyone help me at all?
    Cheers in advance,
    Eoin

    Nope this doesn't work.  I wasn't using the default names previously but I can't see that it should make a difference, although Flash can be quirky.
    I tried putting them in a new location to no avail.
    Attached is a screenshot of the error message.

  • Can't publish html file

    When I go to publish my file in html I get an error message:
    "Error creating SWF movie file. Be sure the destination file is not locked or on a locked drive. Also, check that the file name is not too long"
    I've done all of the above and still get the error. I can export the SWF but I need a transparent background so I need the html. Any suggestions?

    In the windows version of Flash, the full path for the html and the swf files are written to the Publish window. If you are working on this file on a computer other than the one that originated the file, then the path may be unrecognized by Flash. Since the windows that hold the path in the Publish window scroll to the end of the file name, you may not see the rest of the path name. Select the text in these spaces and delete and write the file name that you want, or, close the Publish window and resave the fla to a different location. Then publish.

    Hi
    Can you tell me which version of dreamweaver you are using (and flash pro, if you have it), as the code you provided has element of a number of different versions (e.g. your js flash files are reasonably new, but your flash inserted into the html body is old, but with the cs3 version of flash player indicated!). Also the detect flash file is no longer required.

  • .mov file (video) not showing in published html file

    I inserted a .mov file into a digital book.  Published it as html. I can see it in the web browser, but my teammate cannot.  What could be the problem?

    By "in it, "  I mean the indd file has a mov file inserted into it.  I published the file as a swf and html.  She could see the html document, but the video wouldn't appear.  She clicked on the poster image and then the slide was blank.  If I insert a f4v file into the indd file and publish it as swf/html, she cannot view the html document at all.

  • Publish HTML file in Dreamweaver CS6 (in eLearning Suite 6) to SCORM 2004 - How?

    I have an HTML page I want to publish as a SCORM 2004 package from Dreamweaver CS6.  I don't have any interactions - I just want to track if a learner opened / viewed the file.  This ought to be EASY, but there is no clear "Click here to publish to SCORM" button.
    Thanks,
    Laura

    As far as I know, DW has never had any kind of SCORM support by default.
    I know there are SCORM extensions, but don't know if they work in DWCC without being converted to the new extension type.

  • How to make ads/banners published for an Adserver (only an HTML file with all js files and images linked)

    Hi everyone!
    I'm hoping someone can solve this.
    I have made some ads in Edge Animate CC and need to put them on an Adserver....
    but the adserver company only accept the HTML code... only extra files or images.
    This means linking the images and the .js files to URLs. I have done it with the images but are hitting a wall with the _edge.js
    I added the script in the HTML to load the _edge.js. (<script src="http://www.christianlaursen.net/ADS/WL_AD_160x600_edge.js"></script>)
    But I get certain errors in the console which I believe relates to how Edge tries to load _edge.js locally (even if i load it separately)
    Uncaught ReferenceError: AdobeEdge is not defined                    WL_AD_160x600_edge.js:3
    Failed to load resource: net::ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND                 file:///C:/Users/claursen/Desktop/WL_AD_160x600_edge.js
    Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'stage' of undefined    edge.5.0.1.min.js:133
    Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'stage' of undefined    edge.5.0.1.min.js:126
    This is as far as I got. I am not sure 100% the script is being loaded correctly, but as the console is complaining about the local file, I have
    a feeling it's with Edge's attempt to load it locally that causing it to stop.
    Anyone doing Ads with Edge? It seems it should be such a simple thing and also important thing
    Thanks in advance for reading and any given help!

    I have verified that an Edge published banner can be booked into DFP (Doubleclick for Publishers) as a third party tag by creating an iFrame of the link to your edge published HTML file. You save that file as a *.txt.There is still the issue of click URL macros, and cachebusters. For DFP the click URL macro is %%CLICK_URL_ESC%%
    So you would probably use in Edge
    window.open('cta', %%CLICK_URL_ESC%%'http://somedomain.com/');
    then for the cachebuster, DFP's is random=%%CACHEBUSTER%%
    This is what an Edge published banner tag would look like.
    <style type="text/css">
    body{
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    </style>
    <iframe src="http://www.somedomain.com/yourfilename.html"
    marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" width="160" align="top"
    frameborder="0" height="600"></iframe>
    IMO it is worth pursuing using Google Analytics for the reporting, as you can put your Google Analytics code in your Edge published HTML file.Hopefully someine with GA experience will chime in.

  • JEditorPane - How to display XML Linked HTML File in JEditorPane ?

    Dear Friends,
    I have a HTML File consisting of stylesheet, xml linked (for data) and with headers, footers...
    When i called a ordinary html file using setpage property of JEditorpane..it's working no problem...but when i call the html file having xml linked or buttons...it's not properly displayed....
    If anybody hits this problem....pls...help me....
    Regards,
    V.Prasanna

    If you only need to display it, consider your HttpServletRequest just as byte stream. :) Just read from ServletInputStream and write it back into ServletOutputStream of HttpServletResponse.
    If you want to process incoming XML, please give some details first, what exactly you want to do. :)

  • Can I link my Media Query to a HTML file?

    Can I make this below:
    <link href="mobile.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="only screen and (min-width:300px) and (max-width:320px)">
    to link to an HTML file instead like -> <link href="mobile.html" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="only screen and (min-width:300px) and (max-width:320px)"> ?
    Thanks in advance.

    I'm trying to get the browser to look at what "media width" and then autodirect to another html file. So as an example:
    Webpage opens, looks to see if i'm on a device that has a maximum width of 320px if NO then it stays as is. if YES, it loads another html file that is 320px freindly.
    My website has stacks of java going on, and will not work on mobile devices properly. Just changing the css file won't do anything close to what the website looks like.
    I've searched and searched and found nothing.

  • Published SWF File out of Captivate opens in Browser

    I have a SWF created in Captivate. Inside the published
    Captivate file is a link to open another SWF file.
    The original SWF file opens in Flash Player, but when I
    access the button to open the other SWF file, that SWF file opens
    in my browser.
    Can anyone explain to me why this is happening?

    you either didn't clear your cache or you uploaded your html and/or swf to the wrong location.  retry.

  • HTML file won't play/appear

    Hello,
    Why is it that I cannot get my published HTML files to play?
    The Flash files work fine, but after uploading the HTML version to
    our CMS and then linking, the window that opens is empty. Does this
    have anything to do with the javascript file that is created?
    Thanks!

    Hi again Bethanne
    Yes, all the files Captivate creates and places on your hard
    drive should also be copied to the server. And they should all be
    placed in the same folder on the server so they may find one
    another.
    It's a bit like a house of cards. Take away any one of the
    elements and the whole of it collapses.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Help with html files when placing Web Content overlay

    Hi there,
    We have an educational app with lots of interactive exercises - all of which were initially designed in Flash.
    I have converted the fla files into hmtl using Wallaby. For each fla file, Wallaby creates a js, css and html file as well as an assets folder.
    When I place the Web Content frame, and link it to the html file, do I link it to the actual html file Wallaby created? It won't let me select the folder with all of the files in it as is, and I can't link it to a zip file either... So how does it recognise the assets if I only select the html file? (see screenshot)
    Or do I need to add an HTMLResources folder and link it to that?
    Thanks in advance for any help given.

    You link to the HTML file but make sure these things are in their own folder or InDesign will add EVERYTHING in the folder that has the html file in it.

  • Powershell, design manager, uploading html file not creating associated master page file

    I am uploading a xyz.html file through powershell for 2 site collections, when .html file is uploaded and published it automatically creates xyz.master file. It is working fine for not publishing sites collection only, for publishing site collection .html file
    is uploaded successfully but it is not creating associated .master file. If I close powershell console and run again it works successfully.
    another interesting thing I noticed that if I specify "spadmin" account which I used to install sharepoint as  site collection primary administrator, all works well, currently I am using "spsiteCollection" account for primary site collection
    administrator and I am having above mentioned issue.
    powershell script is also running with spadmin account.
    I have ensured .html is checked in and publish properly, If I manually unpublish and publish .html file it creates .mater file. What could be the issue?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you have an issue about upload html file to master page gallery.
    I have used the PowerShell contains in the codeplex to upload the files to master page gallery, it works without any issue.
    https://uploadmasterpages.codeplex.com/
    You can check your PowerShell with this article, or use this bat file to upload directly to check whether it works.
    Thanks,
