Published movie cropped at bottom

I have published a small swf file for embedding into a web
page. When I view the SWF file by itself in my browsers, the bottom
line of pixels is visible. When I view the published HTML file in
the browser, or insert my movie into the web page in Dreamweaver
using INSERT > MEDIA > FLASH, the bottom row of pixels (a
one-pixel green line) is missing. I've tried several Publish
settings and still see the same thing.
I'm working in Flash MX/Dreamweaver MX Mac and viewing in
Firefox and Safari Mac. The files can be found here:
The web page:
http://www.bullerinetworks.com/indexf.html
SWF file:
http://www.bullerinetworks.com/home-rotation.swf
Any help is appreciated.
Jeff

Okay, I tried a few things. I tried increasing the stage size
by 4 pixels. Also tried setting the publish size to that plus 4
more pixels. Window mode: Transparent; HTML alignment: default;
Scale: no scale; Flash alignment: left & bottom. The SWF file
still has the green line at the bottom, but when the HTML is viewed
in the browser, or the SWF file is inserted into the web page, the
bottom is cropped off. I'm stumped. Any other suggestions?

Don't have a direct answer. But did you install the updates. They might resolve the problem.

  • White Borders Around the Left and Right Edge of a Published Movie

Does anyone know how to get rid of the white borders that are around the left and right edge of a published movie? It looks like they are about a 1 pixel border. I have the "show borders" unchecked in the themes options.
    Any help would be appreciated.

You need to add some CSS code into the HEAD area of you HTML publishing template to remove the default HTML margin.

  • IE Script Error When Closing Published Movie on Intrnet

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix an IE script error "Access is Denied" when I close a published movie that has been posted on
our company intranet?  (Captive 4, output is .swf movie).
The movie plays fine, but when I close window or click Back button in browser after running it, I get the script error message.  Thanks for any tips!

Did you publish it with "Reporting enabled"? Sounds to me like it's trying to execute some sort of JavaScript function and that your intranet doesn't approve of that.

  • Right Click in published movie Captivate 4

When I try to publish a movie with right click capability I lose that capability and the movie freezes. The only time it works is when I run it locally from the default save location. I have turned off accessibility and all other necessary switches
How can I make this movie function properly over an intranet with potentially 10,000 users
    thedarf

If you are not running the published movie from a server, then you have to add the location to flash security setting in order for it to work.
Following url is where user will have to add the location from where the swf is being viewed.

Locally it is running fine because your local drive must have already been added to this setting.

  • Trying to publish movie and get error message -50

trying to publish movies from imovies.  I keep getting error messages (-50) or (-34). don't know what it means.  also when I put in a dvd to burn it tells me "not enough space". Movies are less than an hour.  why?  I recently was able to burn one for 1hour and 3 min now I can't burn anything?  confused...help

The not enough space message refers to file size. Even though the movie may be short, perhaps for some reason it has a large file size.

  • Centering flash movie top and bottom in dreamweaver?

Hi all, I'm a novice user of dreamweaver.
I've placed a flash movie in dreamweaver and centered it left
and right but how can I center it top and bottom so it
    floats?

Not too sure what you mean exactly by "so it floats." But
    I'll hazard a
guess that you want your video to appear inside a
    semi-transparent lightbox
that appears to float over the page content beneath it. If
    so, have a look
    at FloatBox.

  • What happens when the scroll bar moves to the bottom by itself?

When I am browsing, the scroll bar moves downward all of sudden to the bottom of the arrow. When you click on the scroll bar to move the page back to the top, it automatically moves back the scroll bar back to the bottom of the page. I have tried reloading the page, going forwards and backwards, and refreshing the page but it still does this problem. The only way to fix this problem is you have to close Firefox and reopen the browser. Is there a solution?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • IWeb not publishing edited "top" and "bottom" page backgrounds

I have edited the page background for the "Layered Paper" theme to fit an 800px space (up from 700px). The backgrounds display correctly in iWeb, but in Safari, only the middle image is the correct 800px format. The top and bottom both display the old 700px image as a "tile."
I have emptied Safari's cache and deleted the original 700px images from the iWeb theme folder. This also occurs under IE8. Any ideas?
    site: carl.stoneh.am

Yes. I edited those files directly (after backing up the originals in case something went wrong).
I did discover a tutorial online that suggested just dragging the "new" header footer into iWeb, so I tried that out. If you visit the "CV" age, you'll see that the header works just fine (I left the footer alone for testing purposes). I guess that will do as a stopgap, but I'm still curious as to why iWeb used the correct image file in the program but published it to MobileMe using a 700px width. Is this perhaps something that's just hard-coded in the program, and changing the width of a page doesn't "correctly" publish larger images for the header and footer (unless they're just gradients, etc)?

  • IWeb not publishing movies

Hey there. I'm new to these forums, so go easy on me. I searched the forums for this topic and didn't find anything related to my problem. Recently, I started using iWeb to build a site, and I had a huge problem, and that problem is that iWeb only publishes some of my movies. Now, the format I've been using is the Apple TV settings in Final Cut Express. I realize that iWeb likes small files for uploading. But, with the formats and files sizes being about the same (150-200 megs) why is this happening? Initially, what I did was delete the movies page, create a new one, and sometimes this would work, but not all the time. That, I think is what is most frustrating - The fact that there is this randomness in troubleshooting. I've brought up the overlay and examined my assets in relation to each other, but I can't see any conflict there. I really don't want to export from Final Cut or Quicktime in a web format, as there is a such a huge loss in quality, obviously. Does anyone know of a workaround to keep these movies in a higher quality and have them be compatible with iWeb. By the way, my iDisk is empty, so that's not the issue either. Thanks in advance for the help.

Welcome to the discussions. You could try importing your movies into iMovie and then publishing to MobileMe Gallery:
    http://www.apple.com/findouthow/movies/#mobileme
Then you can pseudo embed your Gallery movie into your iWeb site — here's a video tutorial briefly showing that about half-way through:
    http://www.apple.com/findouthow/web/iweb08.html#tutorial=livecontent
...Visitors will have a full-screen option to view your movies and an advantage for you is that the movies are no longer in iWeb's Domain file — so site re-publishing times are shorter. There's more about MobileMe Gallery here:

  • Can't Publish movies of any size!

When I try to publish a movie from iMovie to iWeb it says I have a publishing error. It may occur at anytime during the uploading process.
I have turned off Disk Syncing, I have turned off all Screen Savers and such.
I was able to post video before I upgraded to 1.01. Now I am at a loss.
    Any thoughts?
    Andy

Iweb and iMovie are memory hogs, any chance you're using other programs while you're waiting for iMovie to publish over to iWeb. The only times I've had publishing errors are when I was doing too many other things at the same time, when my screen saver and energy saver were set to come on, and when I had half a gig of memory. After I upgraded memory and fixed those other settings it cleaned up.
    hope this helps.

  • Why is my exported movie cropped?

When I export my movie project to Quicktime movie (or to mp4), it is cropped as if a widescreen mask had been applied, although the project properties confirm it's a standard 4:3. The project looks fine in iMovie's canvas.
I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this.

    Hi Marilyn,
I'd like to help. Would you mind providing more detail? Is your doc a PDF (you wrote prn)? Is there actual text on your document for the converter to grasp?
    Let me know!
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
    Kind regards, Stacy

  • Published movies not working correctly

I was working with an existing .fla file that was working and
publishing fine yesterday. Today...when I publish it, it's all
screwed up? When I do a test export within flash, my movie works
fine. When I publish and open the published file it doesnt work
right? I've checked all my settings and I have no idea why it's
behaving like this? Is there a bug or do I need to
    reinstall???

when you open the published file make sure its opening with
    the correct player version.

  • Browser Security Error When Viewing Published Movie

We've made our Captivate movies, we've published them as
SWF's with 'Export HTML' checked with Flash Player 7 (and also
tried FP 9) selected. When we view our movies in our our browser
(Mac Safari, Mac Firefox, PC I.E., PC Firefox) the following error
    message pops up:
Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe
    operation.
The following local application on your computer or network:
    /Users/admin/Documents/.../filename.swf
is trying to communicate with this Internet-enabled location:
    /Users/admin/Documents/.../filename.htm
To let this application communicate with the Internet, click
    Settings.
You must restart this application after changing settings.
    (OK) (SETTINGS)
We can of course click settings and make adjustments to view
the movies but we're making a stand alone CD and don't want our end

we need to adjust so this message won't pop up every time a movie
