Published php files are Blank

In Dreamweaver CS4 I can view and edit files. HOWEVER, when I "put" them they are published "blank" onto the internet.
There is the following error: news.php - error occurred - An FTP error occurred - cannot put news.php. Access denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem. Make sure you have proper authorization on the server and the server is properly configured.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Adobe support cannot help me they say it's in the .php scripting and code.

This sounds like the answer a bureaucrat might give; technically correct, but not especially helpful. Adobe says they work closely with Apple, but it looks like they either didn't know about Yosemite, or don't care about their Captivate 7 users.

You can check for issues with the Windows icon cache and try to rebuild the icon cache.
# Open the Task Manager (Shift+Ctrl+ESC)

The IconCache.db file is a hidden file, so make sure that you can see hidden files.

Need to publish PHP files and be able to "open other movie"

I am hoping someone can help me. I converted my published
captivate projects to PHP per request of my company web team. In
most projects, I link to an addional project using the On success:
"Open other project" command. All projects are .cp files and this
feature has always worked in the past when published and uploaded
my projects as .htm. I can still upload my files as .php with the
.swf file and opening a project from my web page works fine.
However, when I click the link at the end of one project to open
the next, I recieve an error stating the file cannot be found.
Consequently, the file it is looking for is the .htm and I cannot
figure out a way for it to look for the .php file. Because of
company standards, I cannot simply upload all files (.php, .swf,
.htm) as a work around. Does anyone have a procedure to make
Captivate "call" the .php file extention when linking a project
instead of the .htm?
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

You might try using the approach of "Open URL or File". Then
point to the URL of the PHP page instead.
I think if I were in your shoes, I'd arrange a meeting with
the web team and see if you can figure out why HTM/SWF are bad and
things MUST be PHP or die. You may just find that after you explain
all the extra effort and time wasted in attempting to be compliant
with what is often some IT person's whim and mandate, things will
change and you will be allowed to publish what has always worked
until IT wanted to change things and break it and point their
fingers at you.

Installed CS3 symbol files are blank

We have Illustrator CS3 for Windows. We did not purchase the the entire suite just INDD, PHOTO, ILLSTR and ACROBAT. I tried to access the symbol files that are free with Illustrator. When I open say the MAP file, the pages are all blank. I checked the others and they are all blank pages. I recently viewed them at a seminar and they were available. The path is ZZ:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS3\Presents\Symbols\.....
Can anyone tell me why the software would have been sent with blank pages? Is there a setting I am not seeing?

Did you access the Symbol files from Window>Symbol Libraries>(list). When you open one of the files directly, you need to look at the Symbol panel (Window>Symbol) for that file. All the Symbols for that file are located there. The file is just a way of making a library available.

.php files are not being opened within Mozilla FF

Well, I'm learning PHP, and, although a file whose code is illustrated at www.w3schools.com, is being displayed within Adobe Dreamweaver, it does not seem possible to open the same file within the browsers installed on my pc, including Mozilla FF. It seems that this problem was noted by other people in the past however, I came across no solution.

PHP 5 is installed on my Win XP 5 laptop. Any ideas please?

Sorry I think the problem is simply that Adobe Dreamweaver is the default .php file viewer.

Published Captivate 7 files are blank

I just upgraded my Mac from 10.9 to 10.10 (Doh!! - but it was free). Now my Captivate project won't publish. First time I tried, it asked me if I wanted to view it after publishing, and saying yes, it showed me a blank html page. No error, just no content. There are about 40 slides with fifteen audio files. My Captivate version is 7.0.1.237. Near as I can tell, this is the latest. Is this just punishment for upgrading to a new operating system to quickly?

You can disable the Adobe Reader plugin in Firefox and use the Adobe Reader program or Preview instead.

PDF files may also be found under another entry like Portable document.

Since updating to the latest Firefox, internet pdf files are blank; hardware accelerator was already unchecked; other browser does not have this problem.

Exported jpeg files are blank in ID CC

I just launched InDesign CC for the first time. After creating a simple one-page layout, I exported to jpeg and found that the resulting image was blank. Is there a new setting in CC I need to change?

25MB is quite a large filesize for a JPG, and this might be either quite a lot of pixels saved at a very "high" quality (not very much compressed), or it may be an extremely large number of pixels saved with medium compression.
While the technical spec of the JPG format imposes an absolute limit on maximum width and height pixel dimensions, some software employs a lower limit above which it considers the file to be invalid. Different programs, different limits, sometimes.
I have encountered this (for example) with pano stitched images using the full resolution of a large number of component shots - where JPG output could not be made, or if made, could not even be viewed as a whole by my standard image viewer (though TIFF was still OK even at still larger sizes).
If Lightroom has been set to a large printed size AND to a high ppi resolution, it is easy to get into very high numbers and very large output files. One should IMO at least question the utility and benefit of using very high ratios of upsampling from a standard digital photo - which may happen in some cases as a result of using the same output settings regardless, when spreading the same data across both small and large scales. If the file that was imported into LR really does provide an unusually high number of pixels expressing lots of detail, then that will better deserve such a capacious output file. Otherwise, each part of the file may merely show a very highly detailed representation, of a very blurry nothing-much-in-particular.
If the JPG has exceeded the viewer's size limits, a reported width and height of 0 may represent an error message, in effect - not actual reality.

Pdf files are blank when i try to print them from logic

whenever i try to print a pdf from logic it comes out completely blank. one day it just started printing blank pdfs, but i can't figure out why. i didn't change anything in my preferences, or install any new programs. any ideas? i'm using logic pro 8.0.2 thanks.

greetings ..if you want to print direct from the Score Editor do this:
1 - Select what ever you want to print in Logic
2 - Next to the Logic Pro in the Tool Bar is File
3 - Go to File>Page Setup
4 - You will see a box there with a percentage. If you print blank pages
this could be because it is 2 percent or something. Return it to 100% and
it should print.
5 - Another tip that most of us Score preparers do is to print first to the desk top as
a PDF. This will show you exactly what the printed sheet will look like. There is often
stuff you miss and this helps to proof read it and not waste paper/ink etc

AC3 files are blank

Hi,
I have had this problem before, and it wasn't solved, rather went away. I export a sequence to MPEG2, Dolby AC3. The video is fine, but the audio is blank.
I've tried various workarounds, but to no avail. It seems from other posts that this isn't an isolated problem.
Does anyone have any ideas? And yes - without wanting to sound rude, but to avoid unnecessary back and forths - I have exported audio before and it worked. This seems to be a random problem, but (like most problems of its ilk) it is around when time is tight!
Any help is appreciated.

for those in the same boat - it would appear to be a corruption issue. Something in the project is corrupted. I sometimes have a "cannot save project" issue, but I've never tied the two together. Anyhoo - workaround time:
When the empty AC3 arrives, back in FCP there is a project tab with a wodge of numbers (e.g. C3032838-67AB-45A3-B48E-67). I simply double click the sequence icon for those numbers and re-compress the audio therein. It works.
If anyone has a way of turning a corrupt project into a good, clean, trustworthy one - I am all ears.
I hope this helps some folk.

All CAPTURE AND PRINT files saved on my mac are blank -what is the problem

I installed the Capture & print Add-on on my Macbook Air and captured areas of several web pages and saved them to a folder on my desktop. All the add-on files are blank with zero data captured.
What must I do to remedy this.

Use Dreamweaver CS3. Retrieved file is blank. Tried passive, nothing happened. also got error message timing out. My web master can connect with the website with his computer. He tried to fix mine but can't figure it out why the file is blank.

PHP files are code view only. To work with PHP files locally, you must install a local testing server on your computer and define it in your DW Site Definition.

Dreamweaver CS6 - Losing Line Breaks of PHP Files

Hi all,
If this has been asked and answered, I apologize. I have scoured the forums and Google for this, but coming up empty.
Yesterday, upgraded from DW CS5 to 6. First site working on, opened up both .htm and .php files. Made simple changes, and uploaded to the server (both within, and outside of DW).
All the PHP files are immediately broken. When viewing the page code via my FTP program, all the formatting has been removed (basically line breaks). Obvioulsy, this would see like a "file type" issue. I have tried what seems to be every combination of settings in the Pref>New Document> config box and none make a difference.
I also know this could be depended on my server type (Linux). The HTML pages don't seem to mind that all the line breaks are gone from the code, but PHP pages do.
Attaching what the code looks in DW, but then looks like after I save it and view it via my FTP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Jon - I'm back! So - now that I have the Code Format toggled to Linux, it works perfectly when I put up my PHP files.
However, I'm learning that when I put up .html files - they go up completely empty. Everything is stripped out - when I view it within my FTP software the pages are entirely blank.
I have many sites that have files of each type, and this was never an issue with Dreamweaver 5.
Thoughts?
