Publisher 6.4 to 6.5 - unable to check out content items

Hello,
We upgraded from publisher 6.4 to 6.5 and now are having issues with existing content.
When trying to check out a content item - the browser hangs - checking task manager IE is hung but continually grabbing memory.
Eventually it comes back as a Windows Internet Explorer error - Out of Memory at line 21 - then it just ignore any other clicks to the 'Check Out' link.
Previous to this I got an error that said
"Stop running script?
A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly.
If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive."
So I did this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/175500
But now I get the out of memory error.
I cannot even check out the content item to see what the issue is. It is not all content items just this one. Trying to find a way to edit it...
Suggestions? Any thoughts?
Thanks,
V

Did you check the publisher log files? Logs should be located here ptcs\6.5\logs
you could also try increasing the amount of memory publisher uses by changing the min/max settings in this file.. ptcs\6.5\settings\config\service.conf
After you change the memory settings you may need to uninstall and reinstall the publisher service using the ptcs\6.5\bin\service.bat -remove and -intall....
Hope that helps.

  • "Unable to Check Out File Error" Message

    I'm new to using Adobe products, so forgive me if this is a dumb question! My graphic designer sent me a INDD file to edit the text in and when I try to open it in both InDesign and InCopy, I receive an "Unable to Check Out this File" error message. I just downloaded InDesign CC and InCopy CC (the free trial versions). She said that all settings on her end should allow me to view it. Any help is much appreciated!
    Thank you!

    I've just experienced the same error message in CS4. I got rid of it by going to the Links panel, selecting all the links to Incopy, and Unlinking.

  • "Unable to check out" error message in CS4

    I have InDesign CS4, but do not have InCopy. When I exported an InDesign CS4 file to CS3 interchange format, and then tried to edit the orginal file, I got an error message saying: "Unable to check out this file. It may be in use by someone else." From reading the documentation, it appears that I inadvertently engaged a feature of InCopy, but when  I go to the Edit->InCopy menu, the option to check the file back in is greyed out. How do I check the file back in so that I can edit it?

  • User unable to check in content in URM 10g

    We have a user that is unable to check in content in URM. the access provided to this user was added the same way as every other user within our organisation and there was also another user added the same time with identicle access who is not having any issues.
    The user is able to go through the entire check in process however as they select the 'check in' option at the end of completing metadata fields an error is thrown.
    ERROR:

    Content item <undefined> was not successfully checked in. User 'username' does not have sufficient privileges.
    we have deleted the user several times, gone through providing the user with additional roles, checked logs but we cannot identify what the cause is. if the user is granted sysadmin access they can check in content but as soon as that access is reoved they can no longer.
    just to make this even more confusing lthe user is able to check in content in our test instance no problems.
    Any ideas as to what could possibly be causing this would be appreciated as we have run out.
    Cheers

    If you have taken a dump from somewhere and setting it up on ur local, you should cleanup the database a bit before actually deploying any project.
    I would suggest you rollback any of your current projects and run the following scripts to remove any staled/existing projects in CA.
    DELETE FROM EPUB_PR_HISTORY;
    DELETE FROM EPUB_PROC_HISTORY;
    DELETE FROM epub_proc_prv_prj;
    DELETE FROM EPUB_PROJECT;
    DELETE FROM EPUB_IND_WORKFLOW;
    DELETE FROM EPUB_PROC_TASKINFO;
    DELETE FROM EPUB_PROCESS;
    DELETE FROM EPUB_HIS_ACT_PARM;
    DELETE FROM EPUB_HISTORY;

    DELETE FROM epub_file_asset;
    DELETE FROM avm_asset_lock;
    DELETE FROM dss_server_id;
    DELETE FROM dsi_server_id;
    commit;
    Now start your server again and check the deployment.
    Hopefully it should work!

  • Publishing a file is generating a lot of checked out files

    I have a Contribute 4 user (and I am able to recreate the
    problem) where she's going into edit mode and is adding one link
    (to a pdf file) in a Webpage , then when she goes to publish it
    (which we are publishing via FTP to a Web server set up through her
    connection key), it hangs for a minute and then starts asking if
    she wants to overwrite or rename all the files linked into this
    webpage (images, linked html files, etc.) None of these images or
    files were newly added to the page, and they are already on the
    server. Then it proceeds to take all these linked images and html
    files, checks them out and throws them in her draft console,
    creating a long list of drafts. It's only happening on this one
    HTML page, I cannot figure it out. Has anybody ever seen this
    happen before?

    As a test, can you try logging into one of the libraries with these files as an admin and seeing if you can take ownership of it via the document library settings.  From here try checking it in again and advising what happens.

  • Office 2013 vs SharePoint 2010 - Unable to check out documents to SharePoint drafts folder

    My company is foisting Office 2013 on us without upgrading SharePoint 2010 Enterprise. One of the issues I have discovered since receiving Office 2013 is that SharePoint no longer provides the option to save checked out documents to my local drafts folder.
    This is despite having Office set to save checked-out files to the server drafts location and the Office Document Cache Handler enabled in IE9. Is there a registry setting or something I can change that will re-enable this feature?

    Hi Nellie,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to re-enable the add-on Office Document Cache Handler in IE9.
    We can re-enable the add-on in IE9 using Group Policy:
    Launch the Group Policy Editor.
    Go to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Security Features > Add-on Management >
     Add-on List.
    Set this policy to 'Enabled'.
    In the Add-on List, add the CLSID of BHO (Browser Helper Object) (i.e.) {B4F3A835-0E21-4959-BA22-42B3008E02FF} as the ‘Value Name’ and 1 as the 'Value'.
    Log out of the machine and log back in again for the setting to take effect.

  • Unable to Check In Publishing Page

    I am running into an issue with a custom page layout that I have created.  On this page layout I have a publishing html field, publishing image field, and a publishing summary links field.  The problem is when I check-in the publishing page
    as a draft the content in the publishing HTML fields does NOT save and redirects me to the root page in that web.
    I then checked the SharePoint ULS logs and found the following error.
    Time: 09/03/2010 11:47:20:18
    Process: w3wp.exe (0x1248)
    TID: 0x0C5C
    Area: CMS
    Category: Publishing Cache
    EventID: 98ee
    Level: High
    Description: Trying to store a checked out item (/EN-US/MEDICALPRODUCTS/PAGES/646.ASPX) in the object cache.  This may be because the checked out user is accessing the page, or it could be that the SharePoint system account has the item
    checked out.  To improve performance, you should set the portalsuperuseraccount property on the web application.  See the documentation for more information.
    I have tried to find more answers on the web but have been unsuccessful so far.  Has anybody seen this error before or got any possible ideas to try?  Thanks in advance for any help.

    I am getting this same error in SharePoint Server 2013 when creating new publishing pages with a custom Page Layout created using Design Manager.  The page uses a custom Content Type isth a required column of "News Type" which I suspect is at the root.
    The workaround is to Check In the newly Created page before adding any content, then check it out again.  why you cannot check it in after adding any more information than the Name is a mystery.

    It looks like your workflow is corrupted for some reason or may be you have didn't customize it properly.
    Go to ACC and check the workflow if there are any errors in it.
    Otherwise delete the workflow tables and restart the server.'

  • Subordinate certification authority can't start ADCS service: The revocation function was unable to check revocation because the revocation server was offline. 0x80092013 (-2146885613 CRYPT_E_REVOCATION_OFFLINE).

    Hi
    I have 1 rootCA and 1 subordinate CA. I removed one of the locations to publish CRL and after that the ADCS service can't start. I get the warning first:
    Revocation status for a certificate in the chain for CA certificate 2 for siu-SRVDC01-CA could not be verified because a server is currently unavailable.  The revocation function was unable to check revocation because the revocation server was offline.
    0x80092013 (-2146885613 CRYPT_E_REVOCATION_OFFLINE).
    And then the error:
    Active Directory Certificate Services did not start: Could not load or verify the current CA certificate.  siu-SRVDC01-CA The revocation function was unable to check revocation because the revocation server was offline. 0x80092013 (-2146885613 CRYPT_E_REVOCATION_OFFLINE).
    I've read many threads with similar problems but I can't find the solution. The CDP is online. I've run "certutil -url cert.cer" to verify the CDP and AIA and everything is fine. But the service is still not starting.
    See this command too:
    C:\>certutil -verify -urlfetch subCADC01.cer

    Any clue?

    It looks like it is trying to get the CRL using LDAP. It is quite strange since no ldap entry is on the subordinate CA,
    only an HTTP address:
              <CertificateRevocationList location="TvoCache" url="ldap:///CN=siu-SRVDC02-CA,CN=srvdc02,CN=CDP,CN=Public%20Key%20Services,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=siu,DC=domain?certificateRevocationList?base?objectClass=cRLDistributionPoint"
    fileRef="DEEB557897A9FEA217DF83D95BF24CA54051B1CF.crl" issuerName="siu-SRVDC02-CA" />
                <CertificateRevocationList deltaCRL="true" location="TvoCache" url="ldap:///CN=siu-SRVDC02-CA,CN=srvdc02,CN=CDP,CN=Public%20Key%20Services,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=siu,DC=domain?deltaRevocationList?base?objectClass=cRLDistributionPoint"
    I have checked that object using adsi Edit and the permissions seem ok. Also there is a value on both attributes: certificateRevocationList and deltaRevocationList.
    This problem happened after I removed the LDAP entry for the "CRL Distribution point" from the sub CA properties. Should I add back the LDAP entry?

  • /crystal/rptadmin - Unable to call out to destination.

    We are changing the Enterprise system from a BOE 3.1 to BOE 4.1 sp2 in transaction /crystal/rptadmin.
    I've made the necessary entries in each of the screens for that transaction.....including a valid / working RFC pointing to the new 4.1 system. I have also re-assigned the Roles to this new Enterprise system.
    The BW Publishing service is running and connected to the registered server program ok.
    However when I click on "Verify BOE definition" on the RFC Destination Tab...I get this.
    "Unable to call out to destination. Verify destination in SM59"   ----(and the rfc in sm59 works perfectly)
    Any feedback is appreciated!

    In a lab we've been renewing our Subordinate Issuing CA cert fine for 3 iterations.  On the 4th renewal attempt, when I try to perform a 'Certutil -InstallCet Cert(4).crt, I receive the message 'The revocation function was unable to check revocation
    because the revocation server was offline. 0x80092013'.
    Why could I perform a renewal operation successfully up to this point but cant now?  What does this message really mean cause no servers are offline?
    Thanks for your help! SdeDot

    Thanks Paul.
    The first error I found in the registry was the DSConfigDN was incorrect due to me copying the commands from another test system.
    We didn't specifically code a CDP or AIA on the Root cause each time we renewed the Cert on the Root, on the Sub CA we published the renewed Cert to AD and added the renewed Cert and renewed CRL to the local Root store.
    What follows is the RootCA registry.

  • Unable to Check in Business Services in JDE DEMO.

    Hi,
    We have ERP 8.97 JDE tool set installed on our local m/c. We are unable to check in the Business Services (BSSV) object (JP55HOL) in JDE DEMO. We also tried checking in the vanilla BSSV (J0000030) after we had chekced it out, but this also did not work out. We are getting the error: General Error in Method, Check-in. However we had no issues in checking in the regular JDE objects.
    Please help!!!
    -Shahid

    Demo E900 is a big mess, perhaps "Oracle Lab" packaged it this way.
    Do this:
    1- Create a project "Temp"
    2- Check out F986020 & F986030 (only specs available, no table exists in the data source) - if you try to see by UTB or databrowser
    3- Generate table & index in design (take every thing as default)
    4- Now try check-in your BSSVs.
    5 Goodluck
