Publisher property?

hello,
thanks a lot for the help so far. I have created my webHelp and .chm files, but I have come up with two issues
1- what should I do with the "publisher unknown" when opening the chm file. I have put the file on our ftp server so it can be downloaded to a local PC if needed, but after downloading and trying to run the file you get the
if I just click on open I will get the
Navigation to the webpage was canceled
page, but if I unselect the "Always ask before opening this file" everything will go well. I'm thinking it's because of the unknown publisher certificate so can I do anything about it?
2- Is it possible to change the tab image/icon(favicon) on webhelp?
thanks
ehsan

1] You would get this problem even with a publishers certificate. It is unrelated. This is a security measure implemented by Microsoft for CHMs that have been downloaded.

• Windows failed to publish property printBinNames - error 8007200d

Just like this old post (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/c9a445e2-b28f-4e57-bfef-c1a2f89b8cd6/printers-not-being-published-in-active-directory) I'm noticing some issues with printers being published to AD. However
the error code I'm seeing is 8007200d.
Q:\>err 8007200d
# as an HRESULT: Severity: FAILURE (1), Facility: 0x7, Code 0x200d

# The specified directory service attribute or value already
# exists.
# 1 matches found for "8007200d"
An example of the event which only has fired for this specific printer. It
IS published in AD however and can be found with the Find Network Printer wizard. It's been on this print server for well over a year too.

Error: 8007200d
Using ldifde I queried AD to find out what it has about this specific printer:
ldifde -s its-ad-a1.ABC.MyDomain.org -r objectclass=printqueue -d "CN=PrintServer-AA-BB-4SE-COLOR-FXLSR,CN=PrintServer,OU=Level5,OU=Servers,OU=ManagedObjects,DC=ABC,DC=MyDomain,DC=org" -f test2.txt
Oddly enough, there is no printBinNames in the output:

Why then would Windows through EventID 322? printBinNames doesnt exist to conflict with per the error code thrown.
Even more odd is that I believe this error was preventing another newly crated printer from being published. A new printer was created on the PrintServer. But the printer would now show up in the Find network printer wizard. Right at the
same time I added this new printer, the Event ID 322 for the unrelated printer (AA-BB-4SE-COLOR-FXLSR) was logged. Odd.
I then unpublished and republished the AA-BB-4SE-COLOR-FXLSR printer. Windows logged both success and the same failure! Also interesting is the published name it used is different

...I did install a bunch of printing related hotfixes near the end of 1/2014, which is possibly the reason why it hasn't occurred again.
I'm seeing this too. Win2012r2 server is fully updated till 05/2014. For just newly installed printer and first time listing in AD i got:

• How to publish a File Content Item via EDK?

I'm trying to publish a "File Content Item" via the EDK.
CS EXPLORER
Recall, that a "File Content Item" is different than a (regular) "Content Item" in that (via CS Explorer) it's a content item with no user-defined data entry template (when you right-click, the "Edit Data Entry Template..." menu item is not listed). Yet, somehow, it can still be published (via the Explorer), --which is great because I need to FTP this file to another server.
EDK
However, even though the (file) content item's EDK "Publishable" property indicates "true", it cannot be published via the IContentItemManager.PublishContentItem() method, which is returning the following error message...
The required object was not found... content item... containing Data Entry Template... with attached Presentation Template (with UUID null)... (DataItemUuidNotFound...)
In other words, the File Content Item has a (system defined) "/Definitions/File" data entry template, which has no attached presentation template. This leads me to believe that File Content Items are published differently (than Content Items).
Or, is there a flag that I can pass along to "file_upload.jsp" to get it to auto-publish the File Content Item it creates?
thanks,
Michael

Hey there,
Animate doesn't publish to HTTPS, but this is something you can control on your own when uploading to a secure server. Also be aware that the Animate runtime is served over HTTP so you'll have to upload this component to serve from your server as well.

• Publishing Content Types from Hub in Bulk

I am able to publish content types from the hub just fine. However, I am in a migration scenario where over 1500 content types are being migrated to SharePoint Online from SP2013. We have successfully migrated these to the content hub, managed metadata stores,
etc. However, when they are migrated, the publish property does not migrate with it.
On-Premises, we could publish all of these with PowerShell so they could be consumed by the syndicated sites. Is there a way to publish all of these so that we don't have to go into each once via the UI?

Depends who you give access too. What I'd consider doing is making a copy of what you consider to be the template for the rest of the content types, save that to a unique category within the list of content types and then build the rest off that. Show the
client how to make changes to JUST that template and in theory you'll be fine.
Or, are the content types in use already?

Your requirement is to get two decimal digits for all the numbers right?
This should be possible if you goto the field which you want to have two decimal digits .Right click and goto BIP properties. Here in the properties tab you should see the option to format .Select type as number and choose the necessary format.

• Row limit in declarative list view web part

Hi,
Imagine you are in a scenario where you develop a custom web template or a site definition. Page Layouts with web part zones are being provisioned and out of them, decoratively web part pages are being created and populated with web parts. So something like:
<Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
<Module Name="XXXProjectPages" Url="$Resources:osrvcore,List_Pages_UrlName;" Path="" SetupPath="FEATURES\XXX_Intranet_PMO_PageLayouts\">

<File Url="FullPageLayout\XXXFullPageLayout.aspx" Name="Default.aspx" Type="GhostableInLibrary" IgnoreIfAlreadyExists="FALSE" ReplaceContent="TRUE" Level="Published">
<Property Name="Title" Value="Team & Collaboration" />
<Property Name="ContentType" Value="$Resources:cmscore,contenttype_page_name;" />
<Property Name="PublishingPageLayout" Value="~SiteCollection/_catalogs/masterpage/XXXFullPageLayout.aspx, ~SiteCollection/_catalogs/masterpage/XXXFullPageLayout.aspx" />

<View List="Lists/Announcements" BaseViewID="102" WebPartZoneID="wpZone1" WebPartOrder="2">

<WebPart xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WebPart/v2">
<Assembly>Microsoft.SharePoint, Version=15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c</Assembly>
<TypeName>Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.ListViewWebPart</TypeName>

Latest News

<FrameType>TitleBarOnly</FrameType>
</WebPart>

</View>
For simplicity, let's assume that we are working with instances of OOB list definitions, such as Announcements or Document Library. So far so good. And now the question...
In my understanding if you want to do something as simple as limiting the number of items returned, or specifying a custom view criteria (filter/sorting/grouping, whatever) or just remove the toolbar, you have to go as far as provisioning an ENTIRE LIST
DEFINITION, defining your custom View in it (which declares the toolbar type, row limit and View) and then reference this new View by its BaseViewID. Is that correct?
Is there really no other, simpler way, of 'provisioning' and referencing a new view, to an existing list instance, along with the
Module -> File -> View element? I see a couple of logical options:
1) I would imagine such metadata could be stored in the web part and not the actual list. i.e. the web parts sends a CAML query to the list, based on the View metadata stored in it.
2) As we know, when you Edit page and configure the View for a List View Web Part on the page, that view is stored as a new hidden view in the actual list (i.e. if you have two list view web parts that reference that list, you will have two additional hidden
views). Then why can't we provision such (hidden) view along with the List View WebPart when we declare it and create the page? It could be created on first access of the page, or during the page
provisioning.
Another option could be the XmlDefinition property of the XsltListViewWebPart, but
apparently it is being ignored. I have also tried using the 'CustomSchema' property of the ListInstance, but it totally makes no sense because:
a) You cannot define more than one view in it, i.e. you have to override the OOB view that comes with the definition (lol?!)
b) You are supposed to overwrite the entire list definition, instead of simply upgrading parts of it
So, let me elaborate: if I want to have a <View> (ListViewWebPart) in my Page and this view to have some custom criteria, I have to provision an entire List Definition, is that correct? This is crazy.

Hi Hristo,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to know if you can use <view> tag in the list view web part to define the row limit of list view web part.
Per my knowledge, you can define rowlimit element in the view element for list view web part directly not necessary to modify the entire list definition.
View Element:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ms438338(v=office.15).aspx
Also, if you want to do more customization, you can still orverride the xslt.

• Content Server News Portlet major design flaw ?!

I ran into a Content Server 6.1 issue which is really frustrating me. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong or if it is a design flaw: 1. I created a content server news portlet "out of the box" and added it to my MyPage.2. I created and published 2 news articles.3. I edited the 1st article and just saved it. I did NOT PUBLISH it.4. I edited the 2nd article and PUBLISHED it. The news index is re-published automatically to reflect the changes of the 2nd article which has been published. But the index now displays the changes of BOTH articles, even the unpublished! Furthermore the 1st article can't be opened from the index anymore if the name property has been changed. As the published file name changes with each version and especially when the name is updated, the news index links to the new published file name - but it has never been created as I didn't publish the 1st article! I understand why this is happening: The index content item holds a list of all article content items and is published whenever an article is published / deleted / expired. But until now I thought that content server is holding the last published version and includes this into the list until a new version is published. That's not the case! Imagine this on a production environment with workflow activated: one article was approved and published while the other still needs to be reviewed, but it's (unreviewed) index data like headline etc. is already displayed in the index?! And in worst case the article can't even be opened. You just get the server error "page not found". Many of my content items for a current big project follow the idea of the news template, e.g. HR Staff Overview (persons = articles, overview = index), so I am kind of stressed by what I found out. Has anybody made similar a experience and found a workaround for this? Perhaps one of the support people could explain how the news portlet is intended to be used with this severe behaviour? Am I expecting too much? Is updating an already published article not possible? But why are version mechanisms included for content items then? I appreciate your comments. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply.
We are using Content Server 6.1 with all Hotfixes installed and we are not planning to upgrade to G6 at the moment.
As far as I understood the 'filtered.published' property contains the date the content item was published the last time. So it will always be 'true' if the item has been published in the past, no matter if it's currently published or not.
The index template with the code snippet you sent will display the currently not published (but changed) item properties whenever another item was published. Have you changed the design in 6.2 so that properties of an item in a list property of another item are just copied and not linked?
As a workaround I now compare the 'modified' property with the 'published' property and if it is greater or equal I don't display it in the index. But that's not the way Content Server was designed to behave, is it? With this solution I can suppress the item in the list if it has been modified after the last publishing, but of course I rather want to have the data of the last published version.
Isn't that possible? Is it possible in 6.2? Is there any way to update Content Server to 6.2 without acquiring G6?

• Printservice event id 322

Hi Guys,
Our clients is using Citrix to access published application and print server (clustered), both servers
are running WIndows EE 2008 R2 All printers are published through GPO.
Users are complaining that sometimes they are unable to print usually on HP and Ricoh printers. Printer status shows "Error-printing". We have to restart
print spooler or restart the printer itself. Error occurs when they access Citrix and print from the published application.
Also, i check the prinservice logs i found this error.

Anybody knows how to fix this issue? Thanks.

First of, did you pre-installed all printer driver on your xenapp farm ?
Second, as it affect only certain model it's for me a good sign that it's a driver problem, as with isolation it would affect only print queue with that driver. Please check to update the driver if you can.
Check on hp website, they list what driver to use for their printer on a citrix server (http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=4AA0-8465ENW)

Below is my sample Module Scrip
<Module Name="SampleFolder" Path="SampleFolder" Url="$Resources:osrvcore,List_Pages_UrlName;/SampleFolder" >
<File Path="SamplePage1.aspx" Url="SamplePage1.aspx" IgnoreIfAlreadyExists="TRUE" ReplaceContent="TRUE" Type="GhostableInLibrary" Level="Published" >

• Download to KOBOereader failed - Event error #2038

We own 2 KOBOereaders and recently purchased the Holy Bible from Borders. It downloaded into 1st KOBO but when we used the Adobe Reader function to drag and download this purchased book into the 2nd KOBO it failed - Message was "H:\DigitalEditions\Holy_Bible_New_International_V.epub Event detail Error #2038. Called Borders and they determined that this was a problem that needed to be addressed by Adobe. Found that we are not able to get phone assistance - please advise as to how to get this download to work. Thank you

Publications purchased from Borders (and others) would be expected to have Digital Rights Management (DRM) applied.
Borders (Kobo Reader) uses Adobe's Content Server for this.
So, what is needed is Adobe's Digital Editions which acts as a 'gateway' to assure the author/publisher property rights are maintained.
Aside for looking over what may be at any Kobo forums out there you might find useful information at the Digital Editions user-to-user forum over at:
http://forums.adobe.com/community/adobe_digital_editions
Of particular use are posts by Jim Lester (an Adobe employee).

• Shortcuts not applied when using installer-dec extension jnlp

Hi,
I have written an installer for my application, it does some copying tasks and ask the user for some init issues.
I have successfully created the two jnlp's required to launch the installer and then the application. Now, I changed the success behaviour of the installer so it asks for a restart.
Problem is, Shortcuts for running the application are placed on desktop/startup folders only when application is first run. when the computer is restarted there are no shortcuts. So the user most find the web location again in order to run the program, this is not the behavior i was looking for.
My main jnlp:

Well, No guessing. fixed the syntax, apparently extensions needs to appear after all the jars.

I am working on check printing report and when i am previewing the output i am not able to see the Courier Font in my output, I am able to see MICR font as i have modified xdo.cfg file, But i am not able to see Courier Font (Normal and Bold). When i checked the Windows\Fonts directory i could see Coure.fon, which i have copied to XML publisher directory Fonts folder.
I am using XML publisher 5.0.0, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Thanks all for your help, I am able to preview the Courier font now. I am including my solution, If someone faces similar issue.
To add an XML Publisher property to a template use the Properties dialog (File -> Properties --> Custom Tab):
Name :xdo-font.COURE.normal.normal
Type :Text
Value :Type1.C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\COURE.FON
