Publishing a calendar to dot mac in month view

Is there a way to publish a calendar to dot mac so that it shows up in month view instead of week view? Perhaps a modification of the URL ....
Thanks in advance

Yes, I know you can change the view once the page loads. I was just hoping you could display the month view as a default. Maybe something will change when Leopard come out next week.

  • Publishing to a non dot Mac site

I'm trying to make a slideshow in iWeb and upload it to my usual web pages which are not dot mac sites. Nothing is working, so I wonder if maybe that's not an option and iWeb can only be used to publish on Mac.com pages.

Big sloppy gooey mess. I published it all to Dreamweaver and then I got into the icky sticky html and managed to make the slide show on a black background, but the timing didn't exist and I couldn't reduce the screen size to allow for any text or hyperlinks. So, I thought I'll just do it the old way in Dreamweaver, but I have the 30 day trial which doesn't seem to permit me to use my older DW. Now, the shockwave and flash don't work any more. I suppose that's so I'll buy more stuff. Discouraged? I sure am. It seems all this software has little things planted in them that scream Buy More! Now I'll see if there's a free trial on Flash, but it's getting more confusing. I like the simplicity of iWeb, but I need more control. I like the control of Dreamweaver, but it's sloppy.

  • How can I select a date to view in Calendar while I am in month view?

I am looking at month view in Calendar on my iPad. I touch a date. Intuitively, I expect that date to open up in Day or Week view, but it doesn't! On my iphone, it works just fine. Am I missing something?
How can I select a date to view while in Month view and have it go to Day or Week view?
    Thanks for any help.

    I would try this:
In Lr import one photo into a different folder that you can see in the list.
Then in your OS (mac Finder / Win Explorer) move the photo to the folder that you cannot see.
In Lr the photo will now appear with a question mark on its frame. Click directly on the question mark and select <Locate photo>. Navigate to the folder, open it, and click on the photo.
Maybe this will help Lr to recognize the folder.
If this doesn't help try renaming the folder in your OS.

  • Can i change the dot color IN MONTHLY VIEW

On my ipad i can see the beginning of (for example: Jen's Birthd) each event i create in monthly view with IOS7 but in my iphone i get only gray dots.  The dots are fine but can i change the color to correspond to events or calendars?  I just uploaded a US holiday calendar and its dots are also gray so everthing is gray and i just know something is happening (not the importance of it) and have to click each day with a dot or flip it and see the week view which is just more confusing to me than the monthly.  Id like to only see the monthly if at all possible.

    I understand.

  • Change dot colours on month view???

    Hi,
Is it possible to change the dot colours on the month view of the calendar so it represents the sync'd calendars?
It would be better if it showed a coloured dot under the day's number relevent to the calendar that has an appointment
+ie. if you have 4 calendars with an appointment on each calendar, it would show 4 colour coded dots under the number.+
I understand room under the numbers is limited, so this would be best kept to 1 dot per calendar, not one dot per calendar appointment.

    Hi,
The window positions are kept in your preferences.
Quit iCal and try moving the com.apple.iCal.plist file in User>Library>Preferences to your Desktop, then re-start iCal. The preference file will be re-created with the default settings, this will not affect the contents of your calendars.
    best wishes

  • Equipment mailbox not showing partial days on calendar for certain user (in month view).

We have one user that is having a problem with viewing Equipment Mailboxes.
We are running Exchange 2010 version 14.02.0328.009. Client machine is running Outlook 2010 x86.
The mailbox is a check-out vehicle that he and one other person manage. When someone sends a request to the van, it books it for that time, then doesn't allow others to book it for that same time as expected. However, some users don't like to do their own
booking so they have him do it for them. Several times now he has went out on the calendar (actually 3 different vans, all respond the same way) and booked a van on a day that looked available to him, only to find out on that day that two different people
show up expecting that same van. One person booked it on their own, and he booked it again. It never gave a prompt to disallow him or tell him it was taken from the attendant. However, for the other guy that manages the mailboxes it looks just fine, for me,
for many other users I've compared with, it looks and responds as it should.
I have checked the settings on the equipment mailboxes as well as compared his Exchange account with the other person who is working as expected, they are identical. The thing that I've found is that if someone books a van for an 'all day' event, he sees
it just fine. If they set it up for a partial day, it never shows to him in month view.
Looking at the calendar permissions for the mailbox both of the people have equal rights. I tried setting this person to owner to see if it helped, to no avail. I also tried setting the "Show As:" to free, busy, tentative, out of office, all respond
    the same way.
It seems to show up when he does a schedule view, but from a month view, nothing shows and it allows him to book the van. For everyone else that I've tested, it responds as expected.
I have deleted and recreated his profile on his local machine, and he even recently got a whole new desktop so it shouldn't be anything local (has been going on for many weeks), but I honestly have no idea why it's doing it. Any suggestions from the gurus
on here would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi,
Since the issue only happens when this specific user view the equipment mailbox's calendar in Outlook monthly view, please access this user's mailbox in OWA and view the equipment maibox's calendar and send test meeting requests to have a try.
If the issue also happens in OWA, please run the following cmdlet to check the equipment mailbox calendar configuration:

  • How do I set calendar to always start in Month view?

My Ipod Touch calendar always seems to revert to Day view, even when I go into Month view and then turn it off. Next time I open it, it's back in Day view. I prefer to have it open in Month view, and I can't see any option or setting that would do that. It's regularly synced with Ical on my Macbook pro, which is in Month view.
    Thanks,
    Richard

that's odd, mine always returns to whichever view i left it on. a restore would probably fix it.

  • Calendar closes immediately - March 2013 month view

There is something wrong with calendar on my iPad.
I changed it to month view for March 2013.  Now when I open it, it opens but then closes right away.
I have tried to press the day button as it opens but it closes too quickly.
I have turned the iPad off and on again and closed calendar from the bottom line after sweeping up to make line appear.
All no good. Any ideas how to fix it?
    Thanks.

I guess my response made no sense if you cant open the calendar. Sorry about that.
You would have to make the change on a computer and then sync the change to the iPad. Or if you are using iCloud, you could make the change on your computer and that would sync the change over the the air with iCloud.
If that's not the reason why the calendar is crashing you can try resetting all settings. Or you can try rebooting byholding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If you do have an all day event on April 1st and you can make the change from Outlook on your computer - or whatever you use - and then sync again - that would be the best way to go about this.

  • Calendar Closes when March 2013 month view selected

I would be grateful for help solving my problem with Calendar.  It appears to be working properly, but if I select 2013 and then try to open March in monthly view, the application closes. No matter what I try I cannot get it to open the month.  Any suggestions?

I've removed every entry on 1st of April and I've changed all All-Day events in March, but it is not working for me.... :-(
March still makes the calendar app crashing on my iPads (iPad 3, iPad mini).

  • Can I use iCloud to publish my calendar from one mac to another?

I am on a Macbook Pro and my wife has an iMac. She has all our kids activities on it and I want to be able to import or publish (for lack of a better term) the calendar onto my calendar on my Macbook. I want all the activities to be added to my calendar directly. Is this possible using iCloud? Should I use a different method instead? Thanks!!!

Ctrl-click on the calendars button in the calendar window and choose 'Share' from the contextual menu.

  • My calendar is stuck on the month view.

How do I get back to the day view?  There are no options for day, month or year at the bottom of the screen.

    Hello Schertzy,
Thanks for the question.  You can change the calendar’s view by tapping on the actual year, month, or day that you are trying to view.
For example, if you are viewing the month, you can tap on any date on that month to zoom in and view the entries for that day, but if you would like to zoom out to see the year, tap on the year in the upper left hand corner:
Change your view. Tap a year, month, or day to zoom in or out on your calendar.

  • Colored dots in calendar month view

    hello,
i have an iphone and use the calendar. i have multiple calendars with assigned colors (example: red for professional, green for sport, blue for family). as i am very busy, a black dot appears in almost every day in the month view. if i want to know what i have during a specific day, i enter the day (click on it) and scroll down.
is it possible to have colored dots in the month view to represent which calendar the activity belongs to? it would be useful to get a global view of the month. for example, i want to see in the month view that i have a meeting on monday (red dot), meeting and sport on tuesday (red and green dots), etc.

At this time that is not possible.

  • Do not show dots for 'free' events in the calendar month view

I wish I could.... not show dots for 'free' events in the calendar month view. For an overview of when I have hard-scheduled events in the calendar it's pretty tedious and slow to go day -by day, and other views... Instead the dot  in the month view... - why does it show even "free" events? Any ideas, tips?
    Thanks!

Unfortunately there is no option to disable the dots.

  • Can't publish to dot mac

I'm travelling right now - and trying to publish my travelogue on dot mac. It worked well for a couple of weeks, but since I've been in Egypt - I have been having nothing but trouble.
I usually get a message saying that "Publishing failed due to a network error. Check your internet connection and try again." I have an internet connection - and I'm not sure what else to do. Any thoughts?
Also - one other question - how much data (ie. photos and movies) can I put onto my website? And - what's the best size for my photos to be (I always shoot them in the highest res possible, but I'm guessing that's way too big for a website)
    Thanks for the help!

Let me respond backwards. Yes you absolutely do NOT want high resolution. However, unless you're doing something unusual, iWeb will automatically protect you. In case you're wondering, just think about a mere 3 or 4 meg file size for a hi-res photo. That's a full 10 million BYTES (or, more importantly, 100 million BITS) for a measly three pictures! Now think of common bit per second download speeds. A 56K dial modem typically downloads at 30,000 bits/second, standard DSL is 768,000, premium DSL is 1,400,000 and the vaunted cable is still only 3,000,000 BITS per second. You do the math.
My hunch regarding the network error is the quality of the connection. Internet data transmission is subject to errors and those errors are corrected by a mechanism called ARQ (Automatic ReQuest for retransmission). If the errors are substantial, the quantity of retransmissions will destroy the ability to get meaningful data through and the system gives up. Brief messages (such as required for web browsing) are not impacted but lengthy file transfers (such as website updates) become essentially impossible.

  • Publishing iCal With MONTH view being the default view

    Hi
I'm using iWeb to publish a page, then editing the HTML code to include a non-scrolling frame that is my iCal calendar on it. It works ok EXCEPT that it defaults to a Week View on the web page, and that looks lame because for our purposes it should really default to a MONTH view.
Does anyone know how to make this happen????
    I'm stumped!!!
Unfortunately, I reached my bandwidth limit for this period (first time it's ever happened!) so I can't "show" you the page I'm talking about -- it's shut down until 3/16/07. Sure hope an iCal expert knows how to do this... ???
    Thank you!!!

After not receiving any replies for a couple days, I took a chance and emailed James Tseng (someone who I saw has been very active and helpful on the boards in the past) directly at [jwtseng at rocketmail dot com] ...and he totally answered this question, and also said "Feel free to post the resolution to your issue on the forums so that others might benefit. You are also
free to refer anyone else to contact me directly." So here it is -->
Thank you for your email. You are always most welcome
to contact me directly since my participation in the
forums is not welcome anymore. I think I see what you
    are talking about.
I published a calendar to use as an example... The
default URL that iCal gives is here...
    http://ical.mac.com/jwtseng/Home
And just as you mentioned, this resolves to a weekly
view by default at this URL...
    http://ical.mac.com/WebObjects/iCal.woa/wa/default?u=jwtseng&n=Home.ics
But if you click on the "Month" tab to switch views,
    the URL becomes this...
    http://ical.mac.com/WebObjects/iCal.woa/wa/default?d=1&u=jwtseng&v=1&y=2007&m=2& n=Home.ics
So that's the secret, then. To get your calendar to
display with the month-view by default, just use this
fully-resolved URL as the src URL in your iframe
function instead of the short URL. That should work
    perfectly for you.
Let me know how it goes...
    James
