Publishing and synching calendars

I have trying to sort this out. I am currently publishing a 'dojo' calendar for my aikido group using ical and my .mac account and that has been going smoothly. Now I would like to have access to a 'home' calendar I am beginning to use both on my ipod and on both my computers. I do not want my home calendar visible to the dojo members. No problem synching to my ipod. But, can I use my network between my two computers to synch my 'home' calendar without it being published through my .mac account?
Thanks

Hi,
That should be no problem. Your .Mac iCal synch function will synch all of the active calendars you have on iCal, but you can individually select which calendars you would like to publish, and where you would like to publish them.
For example, you could use the publish function to publish your dojo calendar on a public page, and you could select to publish your Home calendar (if you even need to publish - you don't need to publish to synch) to a private web page (see http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61725) Just select the calendar you want to publish, select Calendars drop down menu, Publish, and then choose location.
hope that helps,
ML

I'm no expert in this department, but I believe that your question was the reason Apple started the 'Group' calendar. Check this page out:

    Perhaps your answer lies within.

  • Selecting and synching calendars

How now do you use iTunes (for Mac) with Mac OS X 10.9 to synch your Entourage 2008 calendar with your mobile devices, iPad2 and iPhone?  In previous editions of iTunes, you could select a particular calendar, such as Entourage, to ensure you were not getting outdated calendar events from previously-imported Exchange server info from Offic Outlook calendars or from iCal on your home iMac.  It now appears you have no opportunity to select only the calendar used on your iMac, in my case the Entourage 2008 calendar.  How does one use only the Entourage 2008 to maintain calendar entries on the iMac as well as the mobile devices?

Here is the weird problem I am having. I have done the sync and followed the steps with the /syncselect link. However, I can get ONLY my sub calendars to appear in iCal and not my default (main) Google calendar.
I've removed the account from my mac, added it again, that didn't work. Then I removed the sub calendars, added those again (through sync select), neither of those worked. I even tried to add it in as a manual calendar using the long URL specific to the calendar with the /user at the end (CalDAV old settings) but that also didn't work.
    Anyone else had this issue?

  • I'm too old to learn iCal.  How do I tell iTunes to synch with Outlook for Mac for all of the Contacts and the Calendar on my iPhone and iPad??  Thanks

I'm too old to learn iCal.  How do I tell iTunes to synch with Outlook for Mac for all of the Contacts and the Calendar on my iPhone and iPad??
Also, once I figure out how to replace iCal with Outlook/Mac on iTunes, how do I synch the phone and pad so that the information on those devices over-writes onto Outlook as a backup, rather than having a blank Calendar on Outlook wipe out all of the information on the phone and pad???
    Thanks

If you haven't tried already, plug your devices into iTunes, and on each device next to the "Summary" tab at the top is another tab called "Info." Click that and scroll down to Contacts, Calendars, etc. There should be a pull down bar under each category for "Sync contacts from..." and you should be able to select from that pull down list Outlook.  Hit Apply at the bottom and see if that does it.

Are you wanting to import iCal to the MacBook Air. Since iCloud doesn't work with 10.6 OSX you probably don't have any data in iCloud yet?

  • Need to synch calendar and contacts, but also open attachments with OWA

I have a client with a Tour 9630.  They are using Exchange 2007 so we cannot use BES or BPS on that server (their only one).
His biggest gripe using the redirector was that he could not open attachments.  After doing some digging, I found out that you cannot open attachments unless you are using the BIS service and connecting through OWA.
SO...fought the authentication issues since they have a self-signed certificate on their Exchange box...turned off all the authentication and woila..OWA worked like a charm.
NOW, though, his contacts and calendar no longer synch since he is just hitting the OWA mail!
Is there a way to enable opening attachments while still synching calendar and contacts?
I turned off redirector on the pc since OWA was working.
If I turn the redirector back on to keep the synch going, will he get duplicates of mail?

I've gotten this 4403 error before, and somehow resolved it without knowing how.
THIS TIME, however, I  tried turning off the synch on my Documents-To-Go, and that fixed things.
Checking on other discussions on the internet regarding this "Protocol Error: Too many files. (4403)", I'm seeing a pattern of Documents-To-Go when resident apps are listed, which seems to tentatively confirm my conclusion. The obvious implication here is that one or more versions of Docs-To-Go have a conflict with something in one or more versions of the Palm OS, and/or other 3rd party apps.
I've be interested in whether this works in other users' experiences.

  • How do I synch calendars from mobile me to the iCloud on the iMac, iPhone and iPad?!

I have the imac, ipad 2 and iphone 4 - all are updated to ios 5, lion and have just moved from mobile me to the icloud.  I am having no end of problems synching my calenders.  Ical on my iMac is perfect however when I sync with my ipad, birthdays and subscriptions appear twice even though they are a single entry in ical.  Some events are completely missing on the ipad calendar and since upgrading I cannot even use the ipad calendar to delete events even though I have tried resetting it.  In the ICloud calendar there are no birthdays or subscription events showing up at all, most of my events from years ago are missing yet all events from the last year are there.
When I enter an event into my icloud calendar it does not show up on either my ical on the mac or ical on my ipad.
When I enter an event on to my ical from my mac it does not show up in the calendars in either the icloud or the ipad.
If I enter an event on to my ipad calendar it shows up in both the imac and icloud calendars but completely disappears from the ipad calendar!
If anyone has any suggestions I would be extremely grateful - I have spent so much time trying to figure this out - every upgrade seems to bring a whole new round of problems and always with the synching of calendars!

MobileMe was terminated more than a month ago.  It's too late to migrate from it to iCloud.
If you have migrated, then your @me.com and @mac.com still work and refer to the same account.  Are you saying that calendars on MobileMe are still showing up on your mac?  They shouldn't.  There's only iCloud now.

  • HT4489 How do I reduce the number of calendar items on iCloud (having exceeded my 25000 entry limit and synch has now stopped), without loosing recurring items or future appointments. I.E. can I remove items by calendar year, say 2010 and 2011?

  • Problem synching iPod and Outlook calendars

When I sync my iPod (Gen5 60GB) and Outlook calendars, I get a time discrepancy starting October 29, 2006 (the day DST ends). All appointments on my iPod calendar display 1 hour later than in Outlook.
Has anyone else had/solved this problem?
    HP Pavilion   Windows XP Pro

Yes I am having the same issue. I wish I had not upgraded to 7 because not only I am not able to synch contact (all of them and calendar) I also lost all playlists, movies, original contacts, etc. I cannot reach anyone in phone support and the "genuises" in the store don't have a clue except that they know there are bugs! Why release the **** thing if there are significant problems?
I hope someone has a solution!!

  • Synch Calendars IPHONE and OUTLOOK 2003: Appointments 1 hour difference

I have an IPHONE 3G, Software 2.1. I´m in Brazil, Sao Paulo, DST on. To solve the problem of 1 hour difference when I synch calendars with my outlook 2003, I had to change the Time Zone Management in IPHONE to another city, in Brasil (Recife) wich doesn´t use DST. This is OK, but do I have to make this procedure everytime I have a DST change? Does anybody know how to fix it? Version 2.2 will correct this ?

I just noticed the same thing!! i had given up on syncing my iPhone with my work computer running Outlook (only syncing to iCal at home), and then with version 2.2 i hoped that it might work better.
just synced to Outlook, and all my appointments that were on the iPhone were set to one hour earlier. Outlook time zone is set correctly, with automatic adjustment for DST. my iPhone is set to Date & Time automatic. haven't played around with resetting to manual.
i ended up adjusting all the events that were incorrect in Outlook - moving them up an hour, resynced, and now every thing is an hour late!!!
may have to give up on syncing Outlook again, and just sync with iCal.

  • Mix published and unpublished events in one calendar?

    Just got an iPhone.
Is there a way to mix published and unpublished events in one calendar?
I've heard that other calendar software have this option.
With iCal on a Mac it's possible to choose which calendars to view, so then it's not a problem to have one published and one unpublished calendar.
But with iCal on iPhone you can only choose between viewing ONE and ALL calendars.
I subscribe to a bunch of other peoples calendars, so viewing ALL is never an option..
So now I would like to write all my events, published and private, into ONE calendar. Is that possible?
    Anyone?

Yes. I tried changing the setting to Sync All Events (instead of the time limited sync) and let it refresh. No change. No display
I also tried rescheduling the event by one hour on the same day (no other changes), then save. No change. No display.
I ended up deleting the events and re-entering them, with identical information (including the recurring end date, remarks, etc., you name it), and then the events appeared like the rest of them in the same calendar.
I'd still like to know if there is a solution to the original problem. I'm still concerned that other events, maybe in the other calendar as well, are no appearing and it's impossible to rely on a sample or to verify every event.
    Thanks for your assistance.

  • Synching Calendars on Notes and Outlook

    Hello,
I have a two PCs (my business and client-imposed), where I run respectively Outlook, (by choice) and Lotus Notes (because I have to) and I wanted to know if it is possible to install PC Suite on both PC's and synchronise each calendar on my mobile phone. I have a 6230i and want to see my appointments from both Outlook and Lotus Notes calendar on my phone.
Will it work or will I have a mess on my hands?
    Thanks for any inputs!

OK, what kind of mess do you think I'll get myself into?
Ideally, I would like to use the mobile phone calendar as the "central" calendar where all updates, (Outlook, Notes, phone) are replicated to the phone and vice-versa.
Example would be that I book an appointment in my Outlook calendar and synch it with my phone, then synch my phone with Lotus Notes. Other scenario would be that I make an appointment using my phone calendar and want to synch it with both Outlook and Lotus Notes.

Is it possible to synch ICal in OS10.8 and Google Calendar so friends can view and change it on a PC?  The friends have no IOS devices, ITunes, or ICloud accounts.  Thanks, if you have performed this miracle!

There's a non Apple supported hack/methode that may let you share iCal calendars: iCloud Mail settings in Snow Leopard

  • Calendar Publishing and URL's?

I have a teacher that is wanting to use the published calendar feature to publish his class schedule and items he wishes to have the student to look at further or work on. I haven't been able to find a way to integrate his URL's into Calendar publishing so that the student can click on the links inside his calendar items and go directly to a web page he has listed. Is this possible?
Also the Supt would like to have a series of school calendars available to parents and staff to subscribe to. I have setup a group for Calendar publishing and assigned that group to the calendars already published. What is the best method for the end user to gain access to the calendars and be able to post items. I don't want just anyone being able to do so but would like to make it as easy as possible for the staff that are assigned to post items.
Is there any way to RSS feed the calendar events as well?
    Thanks for the information.

  • How to synch calendars between iPad and MacBook Pro?

How do I synch calendars between iPad and MacBook Pro?

Thank you for your help. However, I still have no connection; could it be that the laptop is signed in through my account and the iPad through my wife's?
If so, must I delete her iCloud account and reestablish it as mine?
    Thank you
