  • Published a site in iweb but looks different in the web browser

    Hi,
I have published a site in iWeb but it looks different when viewed in the web browser having published a few times.
The pictures have small frames around which display perfectly i niweb but do not show in browser?
The navigation menu is all showing in iweb but again not showing in the web browser?
Not sure what I am doing wrong? I have tried to publish a few times.. checked that all the tick boxes show 'display navigation menu' etc?
    Thanks
    Toni

Since you do not provide real varifiable, factual information I searched for :

    Is this you?

I noticed on the Pricing page that I cannot click the Gallery link. Something covering it?
    Other pages have similar behaviour.
And there's no link for the home page. Perhaps you're hiding it.
And see if you can use a shorter, and different, Sitename. It is clear who you are. And just welcome is enough.
    And empty the browser cache.

  • How to publish an Admin-Approved InfoPath template to 2 different site collections, and retain same internal column names

    Hi,
I am wondering how best to publish an InfoPath form as an Admin-Approved template, to both Site Collection 1 (SC1) and Site Collection 2 (SC2). Some fields are promoted to SharePoint columns.
I have already published my form to SC1, by choosing Publish to SharePoint Server > chose SC1 > Admin-approved > chose to publish to columns I had created manually on SC1 (these columns had relatively user-friendly internal names such
as 'Form_x0020_Status' etc, which I reference in xsl + code). I then uploaded the template in Central Admin as Admin-Approved, and activated the feature on SC1. This all worked fine.
However, if I then go to activate the feature on SC2, it creates columns with different internal names (GUIDs), which means my xsl + code won't work. If I try creating columns manually on SC2 before publishing, it still creates new GUID columns.
This of course must be because on feature activation on SC2, it cannot find the exact columns specified in the template (which was published to SC1), so it creates new ones.
In that case, what is the best way to publish an Admin-Approved template to 2 different site collections? One option is to create the columns using code, and deploy them to both sites as a feature, ensuring all IDs are the same. But should this be necessary, is
there any option available using only InfoPath and SharePoint?
    Thanks for reading.

  • Can you publish a page to different site?

Is there a way to publish a page to different sites? For example, if I want to write a policy page that applies to all team sites, is there a way to publish this page to all team sites? I don't want to link to the page.
I tried Content Search Rollup and it just show the link to the page, I want the content of the page to be there.
    Thank you,
    Kirk

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to publish a policy page to all the team sites and it displays the content of the policy page in the team sites.
You can insert the Page Viewer Web Part into the a new page in all the team sites and type the URL of the policy page.

  • I can't publish two different sites as separate

So, I created my FIRST site in iWeb and published it to my .MAC account. Everything is peachy. I created a SECOND site which I want to publish to a separate host (redshift.com) When I attempt to publish to a folder as iWeb tells you to do, it publishes BOTH sites instead of just the one I want.
    Any ideas?

iWeb stores all information about the sites that you create with it in a file called Domain.sites which is located on your hard drive in the following folder path.../Users/yourname/Library/Application Support/iWeb/...
If you create more than one site using the same Domain.sites file, then both sites will be published everytime you publish from iWeb. There is currently no way to independently publish two sites that are contained in the same Domain.sites file.
If you would like to publish sites independently, you will need to have a single site contained in a single Domain file...and then switch Domain files to correspond with the desired site to publish or edit. There are several utilities that people here have written to help you do just that...check out a program called "Domain Juggler" or "iWebSites".

  • Publishing one site to a public domain and a different site to .mac

    Hello,
I previous had a personal website on .mac created with iWeb, everything works great. I also volunteer for a profession society local section and recently made them a new website using my version of iWeb as well. I just created a new site under the file menu. I am using my .mac account to host it in the demo stage for the society. We now want to publish to a public domain but when I select "Publish to a Folder" I get both sites; my personal website of home photos and movies plus the society website. Needless to say the folder is huge and I only want one of the two sites.
?? Is there way of indicating to only publish one site to a folder and not all ??
    Thank you
    LeRoy A

I found the answer down in the question on iWebSites.

  • Is it possible to publish one site to mac site and another site to a school

I have an "About me" page which I wish students to have access to - but I don't want them to have access to the rest of my site - can I publish either just the "about me" page to a different school server or can I create a new site with just an about me page and publish that site to my school server and my personal site to mac site?

    Yes.
The easiest way is to use separate domain.sites2 files. There are several sites that offer instructions for doing this. One is Apnewbie's Site Separation help page.

  • IWeb podcast page in different site.

My current site is many pages, many graphics, etc. .... i.e. it's slow loading, and slow to publish. I have another .me account and was thinking of creating my podcast page there to facilitate faster publishing when updating my podcast. I have feedburner so all I have to do to change it for iTunes is to change the page link on feedburner. So my question is, if I create my podcast page on another .me site page, how is that going to affect my iTunes listing?
Whenever I submit a new podcast to my site and publish it, it sends it to iTunes automatically, soooo, if I create a totally new id with all my podcast imported there (I will need to have all the podcast there as it will be the redirect from feedburner for my podcast), will they all submit to iTunes again and mess up my iTunes listing?
What do I need to be concerned with regarding my iTunes listing and ranking?
Thanks in advance for the feedback and suggestions.

Is your requirement is to have different master page for different site collection. If so, refer to the following posts for more information

    Cheers,

  • IWeb won't let me publish 2 sites to mobileme....

I have 2 sites created with iweb with 2 different domain names.  When I edit both sites, only one site gets published.  I do not even have the option of 'publish to mobileme" on pages of my second site.  I have tried 'publish all' and Iweb shows that both sites are being uploaded but then no changes appear on site #2 online when refreshed...  Can anyone help me?

iWeb 2 always publsihed all sites in the doman file.  That's why many users would create individual domain files for publishing. However, if publsihing to the same MMe account there new site would be published but the existing site(s) would be deleted.
The fact that you're publishing the two sites to different accounts would aleviate that potential problem. For using multiple domain files with iWeb 2 I sugget you get iWebSites.
I use iWebSites to manage over 75 individual sites.  It lets me create multiple sites:
    and multiple domian files:
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow that I used to split them into individual sites with iWebSites:
Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process and move it to another location on your HD until you're satisfied the separation process is completed and what you want.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.
If you don't use iWS you can publish your sites to a folder on your hard drive and upload the site file manually to the appropriate family account on your iDisk.
NOTE:  Since iWeb is no longer being supported by Apple I suggest you purchase the boxed iLIFE 11 which contains the latest iWeb as well as iDVD which is also being discontinued by Apple.  Once those boxed copies of iLife 11 are gone there will be no way to obtain the last version of iWeb, V 3.0.4.  IMO it's worth the cost for the improvements to iWeb over version 2.  Also iWeb 3 has a builtin FTP client which will make is eacy to publish  your site(s) to a 3rd party hosting server which will be necessary after MobileMe is discontinued on June 30, 2012.
With a 3rd party host like HostExcellece, which offers a package for $3.95/mo (2 year committment) that included unlimited space and bandwidth, one free domain name, multiple email addresses and excellent 24/7 ear-to-ear customer support,  you can publish as many sites to that acocunt as you'd like.  Selecdt a domain name and publish each site to it.  The URL for each site would be www.your-domain-name.com/site-name.  So you can have as many sites under that one domain name as you'd like.   That's what I do.

  • How to create 2 different sites in iWeb

It may be I'm missing something really basic but I have no way to make two independent sites. I have one and if I add another this one lists below in the left column. It seem to be independent but when I export to disk they both go together. As the second site doesn't create a link in the first one you can't access it.
What I want is to have two different projects but there's not even an open menu to open the site you want.
What is what I don't understand with this program?

Thanks for the fast answer, but there's still something I miss. This is what I do:
    - I use iWeb to make a site.
    - I publish it to a folder in my hard disk.
I still doesn't have a domain, I'm just designing my web.
I have tried to move or rename that folder and even send it to the trash with no result. Everytime I open iWeb there it is.
You speak of a domain file which I don't know what it really is. I have searched my hard disk and it seems that nothing related with iWeb appears except the folder where I publish the site.

  • Template.xsn. Access to locations on different site collections is blocked for security reasons

I am using sharepoint 2010 onpremise.
I created a custom list, content type and columns. After this I go to the list and click on the infopath button in the ribbon to customize the form. I changed the form and published to the server.
Now I get this error when I go to some page where I have added a infopath webpart:
The following location is in a different site collection:
http://www.myCompany.nl/someSubsite/Lists/VraagEnAntwoord/VraagEnAntwoord/template.xsn. Access to locations on different site collections is blocked for security reasons. For more information, contact your site administrator.
    This website has anonymous access.
I have googled and found many people with this problem, but I dont find some solution. Someone talk about create a template from infopath and then publish it to a content type. I dont understand this solution. Can someone help?

You are actually running an older version of Firefox (8). You should update to Firefox 9.0.1 and see if that helps

  • Publish separate sites to one MobileMe account?

I manage several sites from my laptop, which runs iWeb '08. I have just started using iWeb '09 on my desktop at work, and absolutely love it - not to mention that my work computer doesn't freeze up whenever I try to work on complicated sites. I would like to publish the sites I'm working on at work to my MobileMe account, which my other iWeb '08 sites are published on. If the sites have different names, will that be a problem? Or if I publish will it only put up the sites from my work computer and delete everything else? This is terribly confusing. I would like to keep everything up until replacement sites are made, and this would solve my problem so immensely! Any input you have would be huge!

Perhaps I was not clear in my first post...
I have one MobileMe (.mac) account, which I currently have five sites hosted on. These sites were built in iWeb '08. I have had no problems with hosting multiple sites on MobileMe, so I'm not sure what you mean when you say that this is not possible.
I have built a sixth site in iWeb '09 on a different computer than my other five sites are built/stored on. I would like to publish this site to my MobileMe account as well - just add it to the roster, if you like. It has a different name than my other sites, so presumably if I sign into my MobileMe account on that computer, it would publish the site alongside the others, correct? I just don't want to publish this new site and for some reason have it delete the other five sites already being hosted.

  • Publishing different Domain files overwrite each other

Because my Domain file was to big in iWeb 1 (was 2 GB), I split it in seperate files. I had to manage the different Domainfiles by care in iWeb 1, but it works fine. The only thing what was important that each domain file dos not had the same Site name.
After I upgraded to iWeb 2.0.1 this workflow is not working any more. Every time a change a Domain file (different Site names)the publishing action will overwrite the last published folder in my web directory.
The only solution is now publishing every domain to a folder on my hard drive and upload this after that. This is a very time costing workflow (publish everytime 300MB over and over again). Any suggestions?
