Publishing from a different computer/online?

Is it possible to publish/update your blog from a different computer?
For example, if I'm on the windows side of my MacBook, or just on another computer all together that DOESN'T have iWeb, is it possible for me to post an update?

Nope, you can only do it with iWeb.

  • My computer crashed. So does this mean I can not add any more music to my ipod from a different computer without all the songs being erased? Can I sync my ipod to a new computer if I allow all the songs to be erased?

My computer crashed. So does this mean I can not add any more music to my ipod from a different computer without all the songs being erased? The ipod works fine and now i got a new computer. So it seems like my only options are leaving my ipod in a state where i cant add anymore songs or erasing all my songs and trying to use my ipod from my new computer. Can someone please inform me on how to have my ipod work from a different computer, even if i have to erase my songs. Thanks.

Yes, if you choose the Erase and Sync option (or restore your iPod) you will be allowed to sync your iPod with the new computer.
If you would like to save the content that's currently on your iPod, see this older thread from another forum member Zevoneer discussing the different ways to copy the content on an iPod back to your PC.

  • HT204053 My ipad stores my documents on iCloud. How can I find them from a different computer, as I used to do by using a memory stick on my old PC etc ?

My ipad stores my documents in iCloud. How can I find them from a different computer?  I used to use a memory stick and could work on my documents on any computer and want to have a replacement system using documents created on my ipad - I can't use a memory stick with it.

How do you know that they are on iCloud, the iPad can (and does) save locally. If they are on iCloud they will be accessible via the application that created them (Pages, Numbers etc) and can be reached from any computer with iCloud access by logging to iCloud.com. But you did that and stated that they are not there, so what makes you think that they are?

  • Downloading songs from a different computer with out reformatting my i pod

Hey there, it's probably a common question. Is there any way to download songs from a different computer with out having to reformat the ipod and lose all my songs i have on there. I've tried it once and it wiped my ipod clean of all my songs. Very annoying. cheers

    Hello noboo79,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
On the computer you have initially the set the iPod up on and for, you can enable the "manually manage music and videos" option from under the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes. This will allow you to sync contect to the iPod from multiple computers. Otherwise, there is no other way.
Here is more on using your iPod with multiple computers as well as manually managing your iPod's contents.

  • Sending a book for printing from a different computer

    Hi everybody,
I'm an Aperture registered user and I live in Italy. At home, I actually have a quite slow internet connection. On the other hand, my office one is very fast but our lan does not accept a mac so I can't connect my macbook pro. Is it possible to "send" the book from a different computer? I mean, once Aperture have created the pdf-x, is it possible to carry the file from my macbook pro to my office pc and send it to Apple for printing?
    Thank you!
    Paolo

Boot into Safemode and Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
If it is good order while in safe mode

  • How can i transfer a movie into my ipad from a different computer?

I had the original ipad. I download a digital copy of a movie into my personal laptop however all movies are downloaded originally from my wife's Macintosh. When I plug in the ipad into my Sony laptop, it states 'all movies will be lost" if I place the movie from a different computer. How can I transfer the movie into my ipad?

Put the movie onto whatever computer you use to sync.  Move the movie into i tunes, and sync.

I cannot find a way to access my iWeb editing pages from a different computer (work desktop vs laptop). Is it even possible? Is there a "file sharing/permissions" thing I need to establish? When I open iWeb on the "other" computer is there a way to access what I've started on my laptop? Help! I'm so frustrated ...
    thank you

  • Is there anyway to restore an iphone to new from a different computer and then use a backup from the cloud?

Is there anyway to restore an iphone to new from a different computer and then use a backup from the cloud? At&t said that they unlocked the phone but that it needs to be reset in itunes and retored for it to work. However, I do not have access to my computer as I am overseas and need to put a new sim card in. Anyone had this problem and know a way to go around this?

If you have an backup on iCloud. You can restore via iTunes (on every computer) or via your iPhone itself.
And yes, you can restore the backup via iCloud.
To set iPhone to new do this: Settings > General > Reset > Erase all data and Reset all Settings.
It take a while. But after this, you can restore backup via iCloud.

  • HT1203 How can I access my itunes account from a different computer as I need to cancel a subscription and I am on holiday at the moment

    Hello
I need to access my itunes account from a different computer as I need to cancel a subscription and I am on holiday at the moment.
Am I already now logged in to Apple ??
    Thanks

If the Computor you are on has iTunes library go to tunes as if u were going to buy a song or film and you can log into your account. At the bottom of the iTunes home page you should see the user that is logged on usually a email address. Click on it to log them out and enter your own apple I'd and password. You can then update whatever you want and log back out after

  • I have a classic iPod with songs that were put on it from a different computer. If I plug it up to my computer, will it keep the songs that were originally on it from the previous computer AND allow me to put new songs on it from my computer?

No.  Your iPod is designed to sync with one computer/iTunes library at a time. If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, the contents currently on the iPod will be erased and replaced with content from the new library.  So you'll want to copy what is currently on the iPod over to your new iTunes library first before syncing it.
See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

  • Publishing from two different machines to same DOT MAC - WATCH OUT!

As of this week - not sure if it's iWeb 08 or changes on the DOT MAC back end, but here's what I can reproduce:
I have two machines set up with iWeb: a MBPro and an iMac.
The MBPro has iWeb set to publish about 6-8 sites to my dot mac account - I often use it for scratch sites or temp sites.
The iMac has iWeb set to publish 3 additional (different) sites to my dot mac account. One of these sites is part of a business site - and is rather critical.
As of this week, when publishing from the MBPro, it wipes out the dot mac installation of the first of three sites published from the iMac (the first site listed in the site list column in iWeb on the iMac).
If I publish from the iMac, it wipes out the dot mac installation of the first of eight sites published from the MBPro (the first site listed in the site list column in iWeb on the MBPro).

I just found this overwriting problem when my daughter updated her site to our shared .Mac account. I have developed this workaround that is not too painful. Only one computer can post directly to the .Mac account. The other computers will have to mount the iDisk and use iWeb's "Publish to a Folder..." option to save the site on the iDisk. Before you can save the site, you have to create a new folder for it. Go to your iDisk, then to the /Web/Sites/ folder. There create a new folder that is appropriate to the name of the site you will be publishing. Now publish to that new folder from iWeb. After that you should be able to get to the new site by going to http://web.mac.com/YOURDOT_MAC_NAME/NEW_FOLDERNAME/
Hope that works for you, AskJacob.
