Publishing iCal on the .Mac

I want to publish my iCal to the .Mac and know how to do this, but I have different categories like school, work, sports, appointments, and other things and when I publish them to the iCal I have a different web sites for each category. I want to publish all of my events onto one iCal page on the .Mac server, is this possible?

George,
Choose File>New Calendar Group and then drag your individual calendars to the group. Publish the Group (Make sure the name is a single word).

  • ICal on the Mac doesn't sync to iPad and iPhone

I'm syncing using iCloud. A calendar update on the iPhone will sync in iTunes but the sync only updates the iPad calendar. iCal on the Mac doesn't update to the newer iPhone calendar events. I also tried it by hooking the iPad directly to the Mac via the cable, and the newer events on the  iPad calendar (which had the new events transferred via sync from the iPhone) didn't transfer to iCal. On the Mac in iTunes, I have the calendar named "Home" checked, which is the same name as the calendars on the iPhone and iPad.
How do you sync the Mac iCal to the iPhone and iPad calendars?

The 'Home' calendar does not sync to iCloud, only the iCloud calendar does that.
In the iCloud control panel have you turned calendar sync on? and are you seeing the iCloud calendar in iCal?, all calendars in the 'On my Mac' group are local, they do not sync.
Also, check in iCal>Preferences>Accounts, to ensure that iCloud is subscribed to in iCal:

  • Securely publishing iCal calendars via .Mac

i want to securely share (publish/subscribe) calendars among just the members of my family. we share a .Mac family account with a Shared iDisk folder that is, in theory, for our exclusive use.
if i publish to .Mac, it appears the calendars are viewable by anyone with the correct URL, not just my family.
if i try to publish to a Private Server using the URL for the .Mac Shared folder (Base URL: http://idisk.mac.com/myaccountname/Shared), the required Login: account name intrudes into the syntax for the pathname to the location. text box says "Publish failed for calendar "xxx". Could not create calendar on http://[email protected]/accountname/shared/calendarname.ics"
any ideas on how to securely share iCal calendars among family members on .Mac?
    thanks very much.

after a couple more hours of digging, i answered my own question.
here's a relevent article with the answer: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61725
the .Mac Family Pack includes an iDisk Shared folder to which all accounts (master account and up to 4 sub-accounts) have shared access. by substituting "Shared" for "Documents" in the URL pathname syntax in the article, i was able to publish calendars into the Shared folder. then, subscriptions were per the article except that any family member's account name and password provided access to the folder.
i think i just had the syntax wrong for publishing to begin with. i don't remember for sure, but i think i may have been using "www.mac.com" instead of "idisk.mac.com".
anyway, it appears to be working.

  • Publisher Documents on the Mac

My son is getting shown how to prepare documents on Microsoft Publisher at school.  He has to do homework on this. He has Office for Mac but this won't open the publisher files.  Is there a Publisher for Mac? or can you open this file in some
    other way with Office?

    Hi,
As far as I know, there's no version of Publisher for Mac. The only thing we can do is to export the Publisher files on your Windows computer to a different file format and then use them on the Mac.
Or we can just find some third-party software to open the publisher files.

  • Setting up iCal on the Mac OS X Server - please help if you can!

Trying to set up an iCal on our Mac OSX Server for just four of us at my small business. I spent all of yesterday trying to figure this out (i'm fairly novice), and I've had no luck. This is what I have done so far:
I created an open directory on our server, went into server admin -> services and checked iCal, open directory, and DNS (is this right?)
Then I created a group in workgroup manager and added the clients to the group.
I opened iCal and went to add an account. If i didn't put anything in the server details section it would just say that I don't have any configured principals - what does this mean??
Typed in the user information and copied a million different combinations of this in the account url spot:
    http://my.server.com:8008/principals/groups/groupshortname/. typing things like
    http://(my ip address here):8008/principals/groups/groupshortname/.
http://(what i think is my server address here):8008/principals/groups/groupshortname/ical.
and then it says server refused, or address could not be found, etc.
i do not know what to do. please help.
    thanks,
    ryan

Hello ryankarolak, and Welcome to the AppleBoards,
Setting up iCal Server is a little complicated in that you need to do several things in the right order. If you don't have DNS from another source you'll need good DNS set-up for many of the OS X Server services to function correctly. But I'm a little unsure of what your next move is since you didn't give any details about your server set-up or your office network lay-out.
You should be aware that there is an entire group dedicated to iCal Server here: http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1234
This other board is really the best place to search and find previous threads and post questions with the best chance of getting knowledgeable eyes on them. This forum is really for Xserve specific questions and isn't the best place to get OS X Server services questions answered - people will help out if they can but dedicated groups exist for some of the more complicated issues.
    Good luck,

  • Publishing brings up the .Mac Information panel and fails

Hi, when I try to publish a simple website using either the "Publish to .Mac" or "Publish All to .Mac" options, a "Logging in to .Mac" panel is displayed, immediately followed by the ">mac Information" panel.
At this point, I can either select "Already a Member", "Become a Member" or "Close". If I close, then the iWeb publish stops. If I select "Already a Member" my .Mac System Preferences panel is displayed - showing my as logged in via .Mac.
Publishing to .Mac works from iPhoto and other applications. I can also publish a website to my iDisk via the "Publish to a Folder" option.
I've also removed the plist file and let iWeb create a new one, but this doesn't fix the problem. I've also checked the Keychain access and this looks fine.
I'd be grateful of any advice or pearls of wisdom that anyone can offer.
    Thanks, Jason.

could you please try this one
Please open Document Information Panel template in InfoPath Designer > Click Tools > Form Options > Security and Trust > uncheck automatically
determine security level > Select Full Trust level > OK > Republish the form again.
If issue persists, please add your site to trusted site in IE Options > Security > Trusted Site > click Site > type site URL > Add, and then
    test it again.

  • What is the best desktop publishing program for the Mac?

When I had a PC I used several excellent DTP programs: Adobe Pagemaker and Serif Page Plus. Pagemaker was supplanted by Adobe InDesign, and Page Plus is written for the PC only. Years ago, it used to be Quark. Too expensive. So what is the alternative for the Mac?

Make sure the seller that sells older versions of the Adobe CS suites, if this was the sellers own software,  has de authorized or unregistered the software they are selling. Also, make sure the seller gives you all of the registration info needed for you to register and authorize this software in your own Adobe account.
Male sure you get the sellers contact info in case something doesn't go right with the registration process.
The seller may need to provide you with info they forgot to five to you or you may need.
If, you have any issues with registering the software, Adobe has a 24 hour live tech support online messaging support system that you can access on the Adobe website.
    Good Luck!

  • Try to publish ical - error "your .Mac account information is not correct"

I try to publish a calendar from my home computer so that I can see it on my work laptop (both Macs); and I get an error "Your .Mac account configuration is not correct. Calendar could not be published. Your .Mac account information is not correct. You cannot publish to .Mac until you have configured your .Mac account." Its setup and configured. Any ideas?

I had the same thing and did the following two things which got it to publish. Not sure which one fixed it but give it a go.
    1. Open your .mac pane in system preferences. Sign out and sign back in.
    2. Change the name of the calendar you're trying to publish.
    Good luck!

  • Different event time on iPhone and iCal throw the Mac OSX Server

    Hi, everyone.
I have an iPhone, a MacBook Pro with latest OS X updates ant trying to sync Calendars throw my Mac OS X Server mini (with latest OS version too).
Everything works fine except one thing:
When i create an event, for example in iCal, and set time to, for example, 20:00, it appears on iPhone a 3 hours earlyer - 17:00.
When i change time on the iPhone to 20:00, after syncing time on the iCal changing to 23:00.
I live in Moscow time zone (+3) and have right time on my server settings and on all my devices.
I really don't know were the problem can be and would be very thankful for help.

    Hi,
Do you have timezone support set up in iCal? This is set in iCal's Preferences > Advanced section.
If so, what timezone does the event appear as being in when you open it to edit in iCal? Also what timezone does it show in the top right of iCal's main window?
    Best wishes

  • Publishing Calendar Group to .Mac Causes Duplications

I am running iCal 2.0 in Tiger. I have three calendars under the Calendar group "Published". I then publish the "Published" calendar group to my .Mac account. Every time I refresh the publication (which happens automatically with "auto-refresh") it duplicates every entry. This is repeatable so I can have four, five, etc. instances of the same event published. If I unsubscribe and republish, it starts over again.
This only affects the published calendars on the .Mac server (ical.mac.com), not any local or .Mac Sync calendars.
    I'd appreciate any help.

I seem to have this working now, G5 and Powerbook both running the same iCal calendar which is syncronised. Both machines have publish switched on along with auto update.
One thing I noticed while testing this evening, the names I was originally publishing under were things like "Study Calendar" or "Myweb.net Calendar", when published using these types of names (spaces and punctuation) the .mac website calendar always had a last updated time of 1970.
When I republished the calendar using a single word name like "Calendar", the published date was correct on the website.
Once I saw the publish day as being correct, I turned on auto update and proceeded to make changes in iCal on both the PB and the G5. All the changes thus far have been syncronised correctly between the machine AND with the website without duplication.
I am not sure if this is a long term solution as I've only been testing for 10 minutes or so. Perhaps the duplications will come back after a while but its certainly something to look into if your publishing your calendar with names longer than one word or with punctuation.
    Cheers

  • Weekly View within ical on the iPhone

Please let Apple know that a weekly view on the calendar for the iPhone would be something you would desire.
The below link will help to inform the people at Apple about who is interested so that they can justify making the effort for this to be updated.
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
    Thanks!

I also travel white a bit with my iphone. The situation, as I understand it, is that you can enter events on the mac with the time zone specified (i.e., I can enter a conference call at 2 PM CST regardless of my current time zone) and the mac and the iphone will both set the correct event time based on my local time. With time zone support turned on, both the mac and iphone will adjust the event time based my actual time zone so I will call at the correct time (that part works perfectly).
The challenging part is that the iphone will not let me enter events in other time zones. If I happen to be in EST and want to enter an event for 2 PM CST, I have to enter it for 3 PM on the iphone. If I travel to CST, the event will move to 2 PM; if I travel to MST, the event will move to 1 PM so that part also words correctly. The only real problem is the inability of the iphone to schedule events in other time zones without them being manually adjusted, the addition of a time zone field in the event edit screen (just like ical on the mac) would make it much easier to use.

  • What is the best place to post question regarding the mac app store?

  • Publish iCal on .Mac

    Hi
After publishing iCal, I get URL in "View Page". I use the URL on my homepage to show iCal.
However, when it's linked, it always shows 'Weekly' page as a default page. I like 'Monthly' page as a default page.
I clicked 'Preferences' and changed a default page to 'Monthly' and it seems to work in Safari until I empty cache. And then it shows 'Weekly' as a default page.
I also noticed that 'Preferences' doesn't work in FireFox. When I tried to change a default page and clicked 'Apply', it goes to Apple site.
My question is, how can I make 'Monthly' page as a default page, permanently?
    I appreciate your help.
    Thank you

I just tried to figure out a way to fix this, but it seems like a flaw in the program (at least for you). I would recommend leaving feedback on the iCal feedback page: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ical.html.

  • Publishing ical on mac osx server

    HI,
I am trying to publish my ical on a Mac os x server and It keeps saying that i am not conttect to the internet...I am wondering if my Base URL is wrong.  does anyone know how to find a base URL?
    thank you

See if the local Network Diagnostics report that the Mac is connected to the Internet, or if there's an issue.   > System Preferences > Network > select the network connection > Assist me... > select Diagnostics.
Also check the local server setup for various DNS services and network errors, by logging into the server and launching Terminal.app from Applications > Utilities and entering the following harmless, diagnostic command:
    sudo changeip -checkhostname
That requires your administrative password.  That'll generate a one-time sudo-related message, if it's the first time you've used sudo.  You'll then see some local host network information, then an indication that no changes are needed, or possibly some diagnostics.
And to confirm: you're running OS X Server 10.6.8?
