Publishing Images to Flickr

I'm having trouble publishing images to Flickr using the built-in Flickr button. For some reason only the original image is being uploaded. For example I took a photo that was crooked and needed white-balance adjustment. I straightened and adjusted the WB then dragged the image into my Flickr album. When I go to the Flickr site, the photo is the original photo; crooked and yellowish. I tried deleting it from Flickr and uploading it again and still the original photo shows up on Flickr's site! It's especially frustrating since this uploading is eating away at my Flickr 100 MB photo limit and I can't experiment too much.
Is anyone else having this problem or have a solution?

  Not sure why they are there but the Publish services e.g. uploading to Flickr, SmugMug etc. does not create any new files on your hard drive.

  • Facebook getting multiple published images.

    Im using LR5.3 but this has been going on since 5 came out.
    I like to publish images directly to Facebook and Flickr using the built in publish services, and while Flickr has no issues at all I'm finding most of the time Facebook is getting duplicate images from each publish session.
    For example, same 5 files in Flickr and FB publish module. Flickr gets 5 images, FB gets 10 and I have to go to thier web page and delete them.
    Sometimes ill edit a shot after posting but will mark the shot as up to date and it leaves the re publish section, yet still it gets published as a new file.
    Any ideas what's going on? I know there are other options for doing this but I'd rather get his figured out.
    Very frsutrating.

    Thanks jscher2000. I went to the links you posted and cruised the suggestions. Ended up booting in SafeMode and doing Malware/Antivirus scans there. I dont' have much of a tech background so figured that would be the safest first try. Both security programs found bugs and at this point looks like finding and deleting the stuff there did the trick. I think the source culprit was some sort of bogus Java script or program. I'd seen that come up in a previous scan but at that point thought it had been deleted. But I think I needed to do the SafeMode so my security programs could finish the job. Right now all is quiet on the western front so....... Thanks again!

  • Lightroom 4.1 still fails to publish to my Flickr account

    When I try to publish images to my flickr account with LR 4.1 (final, released 30th May)  it fails.
    When updating my top level photostream the message is:
         Can’t update this collection.
         An internal error has occurred: Invalid at the top level of the document.
    When updating a flickr set made from a Smart Collection:
         Could not contact the Flickr web service. Please check your Internet connection.
    The publish service in LR that is failing was created in under LR3 and upgraded as upgrades came out.
    I have successfully re-authorized lightroom against Flickr.
    A newly created publish service to the same Flickr account works (at least for one test image).
    Any ideas?  Do I have to start again with a new service in LR?
    Lightroom 4.1 64 bit on Windows 7 64 bit.

    This is appalling and, as Stéphane had pointed out, I have previously reported it against the release candidate.
    It would be appreciated if you can confirm that this is the cause of the error simply to add more substance to the observation and it would also be appreciated if you could add your vote against the problem report in the link above.
    Note I think if you are publishing or republishing a bunch of photos it is not necessarily the first in the thumbnail grid that causes the error.
    Alan.
    PS - Edit ... whoops, we crossed in the post - still worth adding you vote though if you want it fixed.

  • I am having color/grayscale resolution issues when looking at images on flickr. They look allright if viewed in IE

    I am an amature B&W film photographer and I uploaded some images to flickr a couple of weeks ago. Today I took a look at the pictures and it looked like the grayscale bit resolution, which usually is 8 bit, was redused. I tried many things, among others uploading the image again, but nothing helped. Thats when I tried to watch the image on flickr using IE instead, and it looked perfectly normal, with a normal grayscale bitdepth.

  • Publishing Image: Not able to remove it

    Good morning,
    I have a problem with a Pulishing Image attribute on a library: I add it as an optional parameter and everything works fine (creating a new item without filling this field and creating a new item filling in it).
    My problem is when I want to remove a previously populated image from a library item. I receive a warning that I cannot leave that field empty.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Per my understanding, there is a Publishing Image type column in your library. When removing an image from an item of this column in EditForm.aspx page, there is a warning message
    that cannot leave this field empty.
    I tried to reproduce this issue in my environment as below:
    1. Create a custom site column in “Publishing Image” type;
    2. Add this custom site column to a library;
    3. Add new document into this library, in the EditForm.aspx page, select an image for the custom site column, save;
    4. “Edit Properties” of this newly item, in the EditForm.aspx page, remove the image from that site column, save;
    It turns out that all works as expected.
    I suggest you follow the steps above for another test in a new library to see if the issue persists.
    Thanks

  • Poor grayscale resulution when viewing image in flickr

    When viewing my uploaded images on flickr, FF does not display the images correctly. They looks pixelated and not right. The images looks perfectly right using IE/chrome
    What to do?

    Hi,
    Please check if this happens in a [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles new profile]. If it's okay, you can later [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Recovering%20important%20data%20from%20an%20old%20profile?s=profile&r=1&e=sph&as=s copy the needed personal data] from the old profile. Firefox stores your personal data and settings in another location separate from its [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory files/folder]. A new profile would have the default Firefox settings ('''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Options%20window '''Options'''], and [http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config about:config] ), and usually would also be empty of any '''Extensions''' and themes ('''Appearance''') in Tools > Add-ons) and their settings. • SharePoint 2010 Cache Not working for Publishing Images Document Library

    Hi
    I am using SharePoint 2010 Publishing Site and have enabled anonymous access.
    I have enabled blob cache and object cache in the site.
    While i was checking with fiddler those objects in style library and other document libraries are cached.
    Whereas the images from the document library Publishing images is not cached; its returning 304 Not Modified status code.
    Is there a way to include the Publishing images to be cacheable as well ?
    Please advise
    Ready for Action

    Did you perform IISreset on all sharepoint server after enabling cache
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc261797%28v=office.15%29.aspx
    To use the page output cache and the associated cache profile settings, you must be using the Publishing feature on your site.
    http://sharepointinterface.com/tag/caching/
    Wiley went out to SharePoint, checked the article that he wrote, and saw that he did indeed use a series of dynamite sticks for an image. The page should have actually appeared as it does in the screenshot that is above and to the left. After a quick facepalm,
    Wiley realized that he needed to make a change – and fast.
    Wiley went out to the Publishing Images library for the site collection and uploaded a new version of the
    newsarticleimage.jpg image file – one that contained a barrel of TNT instead of a bundle of dynamite. He then browsed to the article page and did a refresh.
    Nothing changed.
    Wiley hit F5 in his browser. Still nothing changed.
    Over the course of the hour that followed, Wiley grew increasingly more bewildered and panicked as he tried in vain to get the new TNT barrel to show up on the article page. He uploaded the image several more times, closed and re-opened his browser, deleted
    and then reloaded the image, re-published and re-approved the actual article page, and even got the administrators to flush the SharePoint BLOB Cache. None of the actions made a difference.
    The Coyote Never Wins
    Why didn’t any of Wiley’s efforts make a difference? Because what Wiley didn’t understand was that there was nothing he could do short of flushing his cache that would prompt the browser to re-request the updated image. The browser started using the cached
    copy of the image after the first request Wiley made in the morning; i.e., the request to verify that the image on the page was incorrect as Fulfillment indicated. For another 24 hours (86400 seconds), the browser would continue to use the cached image.
    Wiley’s image problem was just one of the potential issues that might surface as a result of the BLOB Cache change. It was also one of the more visible problems. In looking at the
    path attribute of the BlobCache element, you might have noticed some of the other file types that got cached by default – file types with
    js (JavaScript) and css (Cascading Style Sheets) extensions, for example. Any of those file types which were served from site collection lists and libraries would also be impacted by the “fetch once and use for 24 hours” behavior.
    If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered

  • Image URL from publishing Image Site column ?

    Hi techies,
    I have created one column say PublishingImage of PublishingImage
    Type and added it in custom list.
    Used this column to upload image. But not able to fetch its URL.
    Used the below line to fetch the Url:
    SPFieldUrlValue oUrl = new SPFieldUrlValue(Convert.ToString(item["PublishingImage"]));
    and assigned the oUrl to Datarow like this:
    dr["Image"] =oUrl.Url;
    but still not getting the proper URL.

  • Why i can't see any image on flickr. That happens most of the times but not always? Both Safari and Firefox

    Why i can't see any image on flickr.
    That happens most of the times but not always?
    Both, on Safari and Firefox i experience the same problem!
    I reseted Safari but seems to be useless

    You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
    *Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
    *Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
    *Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    *Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
    *Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
    *If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • Broken publish service for Flickr

    Hi,
    I tried to publish a set of photos on Flickr when something went wrong in LR 4.1 (on Win 7-64). 3 shots were uploaded successfully when LR suddently claimed that: "Can't upload this collection. Could not connect to the Flickr web service. Please check your internet connection." My Interent connection is fine and I can browse Flickr normally. I can also go into the publish service and re-authenticate my Flickr-account successfully. But the problem persists. I can create a new publish service for Flickr and that one works fine.
    So the settings for my first Flickr publish service seems to be broken somehow.
    1. Does someone know how to fix the broken publish service?
    2. Is there a way to move my shots in the broken publish service to the new one without breaking the link between the shot and the copy on Flickr?
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • How can I read Publishing Image url field programmatically

    Hi,
    I have a document library contains some documents.
    So I have a sitecolumn which have the type "Publishing Image",Now I wanted to read the publishing image programmatically.
    Please provide me the sample code to read.
    Appreciated if you can help.
    Thanks,
    Krishna
    Krishnasandeep

    Use below line of code
    class Program
    static void Main(string[] args)
    try
    using (SPSite site = new SPSite("http://yoursite"))
    using (SPWeb web = site.RootWeb)
    if (PublishingWeb.IsPublishingWeb(web))
    PublishingWeb _pweb = PublishingWeb.GetPublishingWeb(web);
    if (_pweb != null)
    if (_pweb.DefaultPage.Level != SPFileLevel.Checkout)
    if (_pweb.DefaultPage.Item[FieldId.PublishingPageImage] as ImageFieldValue == null)
    _pweb.DefaultPage.CheckOut();
    ImageFieldValue _field = new ImageFieldValue();
    _field.ImageUrl = "/SiteCollectionImages/home.gif";
    _pweb.DefaultPage.Item[FieldId.PublishingPageImage] = _field;
    _pweb.DefaultPage.Item.Update();
    _pweb.DefaultPage.CheckIn("Added Image");
    if (_pweb.PagesList.EnableMinorVersions)
    _pweb.DefaultPage.Publish("Published");
    if (_pweb.PagesList.EnableModeration)
    _pweb.DefaultPage.Approve("Approved!!");
    Console.WriteLine("Image Added");
    catch (Exception ex)
    Console.WriteLine("Error :" + ex.Message);
    Console.ReadLine();
    This is from the
    http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/uploadfile/bhushangawale/adding-publishingpageimage-programmatically-sharepoint-publishing-pages/
    You can take the reference of this code , to get the publishing image field.
    1)First you need to get the publishing web.
    2)Then get the publishing page for the web from which you need to fetch the data.
    3)So that targeted page you will get as an item format
    so using below code get the field value
    ImageFieldValue _field = Item[FieldId.PublishingPageImage] as ImageFieldValue
    Now you can access the properties of the field using this object i.e.
    _field.ImageUrl will give you the url stored.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Problem publishing collections to Flickr

    Hi -
    I'm experiencing a problem when publishing a Collection to Flickr. It appears to be a super simple process, but for some reason it's not working.
    Here's what's happening:
    I created and saved a collection.
    I click on the Collection and then highlight all the images. (91 in total).
    Per the Flickr publish instructions, I then try to drag the selected photos to my Flickr photostream in the Publish Services panel.
    But nothing happens..in fact, it appears that I'm no even able to move the selected photos (maybe I'm doing that wrong!) As soon as I unclick the mouse only one image is selected...
    The Flickr Publish Service panel seems to be set up; I see my Flickr screen name and there's an icon for my Photostream showing 0 images.
    Any insight is appreciated!
    Cheers
    Bill

    Here is my workflow:
    Select the images.
    Rightclick on Flickr under Publishing Services.
    Select Create Photoset from the contextual menu.
    Name the photoset.
    Make sure Include selected photos is checked (it is by default).
    Click on the Create button.
    Click on the Publish button (upper right of the main screen, just under the Module menubar).
    That's it. No need to drag and drop anything, so long as you select the images ahead of time.

  • IWeb 08 - publishing images as .jpg instead of .png? is that possible?

    Dear all,
    I have created a website and it recently gone too big.
    I notice the .png files is getting too huge and it would be much smaller if it is in .jpg (due to the background images).
    Could any1 advise me if there is a setting option to publish the images to a .jpg or .gif?
    Thanks!

    Are these background images part of a theme or ones that you have added yourself?
