Publishing multiple calendars

I would like to publish multiple calendars at one time. I understand how to do it by grouping the calendars together. However, I can't figure out how to customize WHAT is published. For example, I have three different calendars. For TWO I would like to have the information published and on ONE I would like just blank boxes to appear. I want to share some EVENTS but only show that I am busy for others. Is this possible?
Thank you!

This is what you could do:
1. Create a Calendar Group (File > New Calendar Group).
2. Move all you existing calendars under that Group. All it takes is "drag and drop". Your event information, as well as your "To Do" lists should remain unchanged (what I mean by this is that if your "Work" calendar is blue, and all the events under "Work" are blue, the order and color of these events will not suddenly change if they are placed under a group with a different color, or next to the Personal calendar, which might be red).
3. When you publish your calendar, make sure you have the Calendar Group selected, as opposed to any individual calendar under the group. If you've only selected one calendar under the Calendar Group, iCal will only publish that one calendar regardless of the fact that it belongs to a group.
That's it. You should be able to create a group under which you can have Work, Personal and Holiday calendars.

  • Publishing multiple calendars in iCal

Is there a way to publish multiple calendars in one view. It seems that I can
only view one calendar at a time. I want to be able to overlay all of my calendars
so we all know who's doing what when.
I''m a Mom with two girls with lots of sports activities, I want the girls to be able to view all events in all calendars like I can see on my Mac.
    Thanks for any input.

    Hi Roberta,
You can publish multiple calenders by creating a Calendar Group. Here are some styp-by-step instructions:
    - Open the menu 'File' and click the option 'New Calendar Group'.
    - Once this new Calendar Group has been created, rename it (for instance to 'Family', 'Sports' or whatever you like).
    - After renaming the Calendar Group, add the calendars which you wish to publish.
    - FInally... publishing Calendar Group works the same as for single calendars (select the Calender Group and choose from the menu 'Calendar' the option 'Publish').
    I hope this works.

  • How to publish multiple calendars into .mac?

There doesn't seem to be an option to publish multiple calendars to .mac. Is ther ea way that I can have all my calendars in one ical (.mac) view? I don't want to have multiple ical pages online.
    thanks

There is no way to maintain separate source calendars on a Macintosh desktop or portable machine and publish a single, unified calendar using .Mac or a WebDAV server. It simply does not work that way.

  • Publishing multiple calendar categories into one calendar

Is it possible to publish multiple calendar categories into one calendar on my .Mac?

    David,
    welcome to Apple Discussions.
I'm not sure if I understand correctly what you mean with "categories". Maybe you want to achieve what I described in "Publishing more than one calender" #1, 04:11pm Oct 19, 2005 CDT

  • Sharing or Publishing Multiple Calendars

I keep my calendar events in about 20 different iCal calendars so I can use color-coding and different views for different categories of events. This works fine between iCal and MobileMe, and to my iPhone and iPad. The problem comes when I want to share the calendar. I would like a couple of relatives to be able to see on the web exactly the view I see in iCal or MobileMe. As far as I can tell, I have to share each of the twenty calendars individually, and they have to be viewed with different URLs.
Is there an answer to this? As many have noted, it used to be possible and worked quite well.
I have a google account, but as far as I can tell Google calendar is no help.
I understand that if I were to consolidate all my events into one calendar this would all be easier, but I can't find any easy way to merge the events from my separate calendars into one calendar, even if I wanted to.
I would greatly appreciate any advice on a) finding a way to share a single view of all of my calendars, or b) merging the events from many separate calendars into a single calendar.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    langert3,
You would have to upgrade to Tiger to publish several calendars as a group.
Publishing calendars to .Mac: If you're using iCal 2.0 or later, you can create Calendar groups and publish them to .Mac. If you publish a Calendar group, all the events and To Do information from the calendars in the group is merged and published in one calendar. You can also choose to publish individual calendars in the group.Unfortunately that feature is not available in iCal 1.5.5.

  • Publishing multiple calendars on 1 webpage

how to I publish all my calendars on one page so it looks just like I view them on my mac?
I have 5 calendars all in a diffrent color, w/ them all on it makes it very easy to see all the diffrent events. I want the same thing on the web when I publish but it seems that I can only publish them seperately on diffrent pages.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

how do I create a group?
This only works in recent versions of ical
Go to the file menu select new group. Give it a name. Drag and drop your existing calenders from the calender list to this new group.
    Then publish that group.
One drawback is that, im my experience, you can't distingish beteen the contibuting calenders in the published page. Back on ical they are unchanged

  • How to edit/publish a calendar from multiple computers?

In our small business we have up to three people doing scheduling using iCal. We would like to use our separate computers to edit/publish calendars. Right now, we can subscribe, but not publish calendars from multiple machines.
Is there a way to remotely log in to the Mac we publish the calendars on, or can we do this through the web?
Sorry if this has been covered before . . . thanks!

The only way I know to "log in" to another computer is through the Apple's sofware: Apple Remote Desktop (a bit overkill if all you want to do is edit a calendar)
It is not possible to edit another user's calendar, you can only sibscribe.
Perhaps a 3rd party will have this ability soon (Chronos is coming out with a major upgrade to their Group/Personal Organizer product.
DayLite by Market Circle is another product which may let you do what you want but it doesn't currently sync with iCal, thus you would lose all the extended functionality of iCal.
Sorry none of these meet your current needs,
Do look at CalTalk if you need to share calendars locally without publishing them to the web. (How do you share now?)
There are also some web based calendar programs (eg BaseCamp) but you have to always be connected to the web and pay a subscrition fee.

  • Can multiple users alter a published ical calendar/to do list?

two people , both with .mac accounts and used to using and publishing ical calendars, want a shared task list and shared calendar. both should be able to alter both.
    is it possible?
    thanks
    e

This is exactly what a colleague and I want to do - and two more colleagues will want to join in on our shared calendar and to do list soon . All of us have .mac accounts etc. Surely lots of people would want this straightforward feature too....
We don't, however, want to have to swap our .mac login details with each other. If I understand you right Gotham, that is what your soultion is. Thanks but not suitable for me.
If iCal can't do this, why not? and what can?

  • Multiple computers publish shared calendar?

Hello. I am a tech assistant at a high school. Currently our principal publishes a calendar to our local webdav-enabled server to be viewed by staff. Recently, our assistant principal has expressed interest in being able to update those calendars.
Is there a way that the two separate computers would have the SAME calendars on them (changes would not be overwritten by the other), and that BOTH computers could publish to the same file on the server (teachers would only see one calendar?
I believe we have two options:
    1) Create a symbolic link on the asst. principals computer that links to the calendar on the principals computer. When the asst. principal updates and saves, it should update on the principals computer, and then automatically update on the server.
    2) Install remote desktop on the asst. principals computer. He can then view the principals computer when it is not in use and make any changes to the calendar.
    Is the first option feasible?

  • Syncing multiple calendars to a Nokia N70

    Hi there
This is my first post and I hope I'm not duplicating any previous ones.
I have just bought a new Nokia N70 and I am very pleased with it - I'd highly recommend it as a solid phone. In the near future, I'll be getting a GPS for it and also hope to use some kind of Office package on it.
I'm using OS X 10.4.6 and found, once I'd activated Bluetooth, iSync worked straight away and synced my Address Book (with pictures) and iCal. My question is this though - has anyone tried syncing multiple calendars and kept the categories on the phone?
The built in calendar on the N70 doesn't appear to support categories, well certainly nothing you can customise, so I downloaded a trial of AquaCalendar which does. However, when I synced, all the category information was lost. Syncing back to the Mac, you can tell iSync to place items created on the phone to a specific calendar, so that's ok, it's just the other way around.
Basically I have 4 calendars on iCal, 1 for me, 1 for my wife, 1 for Birthdays and 1 for UK Hols (subscribed) They have a particular colour and love the way iCal shows them. What I want is to transfer this colour set so I get the same thing on the N70. Anyone had any sucess with this?
    Many thanks
    Simon

  • Multiple calendar entries in subscribed calendars

I have an IPhone 3GS (software version 4.3.3) and have subscribed to a calendar published from Outlook 2007.
The issue is that I get multiple calendar entries on the IPhone, and only on the IPhone, for calendar entries that have been edited.  If I subscribe to the calendar from a computer, no multiple calendar entries appear.
For example, suppose I had a repeating entry on the Outlook calendar that had an appointment form Tom every Monday morning at 9:30 and that that calendar had been published to the web. Also suppose I've subscribed to that calendar on the IPhone.  Suppose also that I then edit a single instance of that repeating entry and change the appointment to be with Nic and re-publish the calendar.
On the IPhone I will see both the original appointment with Tom and the changed appointment with Nic.
If I subscribe to that same calendar using another computer with Outlook 2007 installed, I only see the new entry.
I have tried unsubscribing from the calendar, unsharing/resharing the calendar, turning off/on the IPhone, and nothing makes a bit of difference.  I've tested this on another IPhone 3GS and it displays the same symptoms.
Under settings, I see the calendar associated with my Outlook account (Comcast), and one subscribed calendar.  The server for the subscribed calendar is calendars.office.microsoft.com/pubcalstorage/vqh8dk8z895660/Houston_Bridge_Stud io_Calendar.ics .
Can anyone point me in the direction of a solution?
    Help would be appreciated.

  • Publish iCal Calendar using Tiger Server

I've been searching for a simple way to publish iCal calendars using Tiger Server. Here is what I need to do:
I need one user to be able to publish multiple "studio schedule" calendars to the Tiger server...and I need all the regular users in the studio to be able to subscribe to it so that they can see what work they have scheduled for the day. The regular users do NOT need to be able to make changes to the calendar...they only need to see it. (and print it if needed) Only the studio manager needs to be able to see and edit the published calendar.
I called Apple support for help on this one and they told me they would have to charge me $695 just for me to be able to get help on this....which surprised me because I'm just trying to use their software to do something it is supposed to be able to do! LOL The only other suggestion he could give was for me to look to the discussion groups here for help....so here I am!

The first thing you need to do is set up WebDAV on the Server and share a directory. If you need instructions on how to that just follow this thread.
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=2793917#2793917
Once you've set up a shared directory you just publish the calendar to it from within iCal.
To do that, set up a calendar, select it and then select 'Publish' under the 'Calendar' menu. In the dialog box that opens up give the calendar a name without spaces. Select 'Publish on: a Private Server'.
In the field for 'Base URL:' fill-in the complete url to the server directory you set up previously using the WebDAV instructions. For example, if you set up a directory on the server called 'calendars' and the URL of the server is www.example.com you would put in 'Base URL: http://www.example.com/calendars'.
Now enter the 'Login' name and 'Password' for an account that has access to the shared directory as you've set it up using the WebDAV instructions.
Select the other options you want to enable in the dialog box and then click on 'Publish'. Now the calendar is published and available for others to subscribe to.
Now to subscribe to the calendar, just select 'Subscribe' under the 'Calendar' menu in iCal and enter the URL for the calendar. Using the example from above you would enter 'webcal://www.example.com/calendars/StudioWork.ics' for a calendar that was named 'StudioWork'.
You can also email the URL for the published calendar by selecting it in iCal and selecting 'Send Publish Email...' under the 'Calendar' menu in iCal.

  • Outlook Sync - Multiple Calendar Problem

(I am not sure whether this belongs in this Forum or would be more appropriately directed to my Device (Curve 8900) forum or Desktop Software.  Please advise or re-direct if that is the case.)
I am having a sync issue with Outlook, and it revolves around the issue of having multiple calendars on the Device, each of which is associated with an e-mail address.  I understand this has been a relatively common question; however, although I admittedly may be looking in the wrong place, I have yet to come across a comprehensive solution.
I understand how to switch the "default" e-mail associated with scheduling items on the calendar, and I believe I'm correct in thinking that this is what syncs with Outlook.  I've noticed that when I try switching the default, Outlook wants to delete all other appointments which are NOT associated with that device calendar.
So I guess my specific questions are:
    1) Is there a way to have Outlook sync with ALL calendars on the device, i.e. not just the default?  It's easy enough to make all appointments from here on out with a single account & have that be the one that syncs; however, it doesn't seem possible to do that without having Outlook want to delete all other appointments.
    2) Is there a way to change the associated email/calendar for events on the Device?  When I open an event, I can see which email/calendar it is but I don't know how to *change* it -- I only seem to have a choice when scheduling new events.
If either of these was an option, I think that would solve my problem -- I could either go through the device & convert everything to the default email/calendar & everything would be there upon sync, OR Outlook would just pick up everything from all calendars when I sync.
I don't understand why it's so complicated to have everything in one place!
Thanks in advance to those willing to share their wisdom & advice in this matter.

  • I have a question about the calendar on the ipad2. I have multiple calendars in different colors. Some of the events are filled in with color. Others are just listed with a colored dot in front of the event. Any ideas why events ar showing up differently?

I have an ipad2 and my question is about the calendar. I set up multiple calendars with different colors. Some of the events show up in filled color. Others only show with a colored dot in front of the event. I can't figure out why some show up one way and others show up differently? Any thoughts?

On mine the ones that show on a coloured background are all-day events, the ones with dots and just timed events.
