Publishing pictures to Facebook - 'tagging' problems

Whenever I upload any pictures to Facebook, Faces does tag people however it does not link them to their Facebook profile.
I have tried using full names which match their profile name, however it still doesn't work.
Is anyone else having this problem??

iPhoto knows your username on facebook and your password. It should access your friends list as 'exporter for iPhoto does'. See the feedback I left for apple at: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html
I am disappointed with the 'faces' integration with facebook in iPhoto 09.
I have been using 'Facebook exporter for iPhoto' (http://developers.facebook.com/iphoto/) for some months now, and use of 'faces' could learn a lot from it.
The flaw is this- I don't know my friends' email addresses, which facebook integration seems to require in order to tag them properly on facebook. The above exporter plugin fetches your contacts from facebook and suggests them using the same familliar javascript window we're used to when tagging on the facebook website itself, so I know that the API allows it.
Unless this is improved, people will just see 'faces' as a gimmick and not as the time-saving and functional resource which it could be. Automatically recognising your friends' faces and then uploading the pictures to facebook as proper tags which generate notifications and are click-able screams 'it just works' a ** of a lot more than having to tag all your photos once for your computer and once again for your Facebook album.

I agree the phones are supposed to come with the battery and battery door missing that is policy of every wireless company. The problem is that the rep that you spoke with wasn't being as thorough as they could have been to ensure that you got complete equipment, is was a processing error from the first representative. Most of the information for exchanging a phone is auto completed by the computers as well so when the rep processes the exchange they don't have any say so as to what is actually in the shipping box so being that you didn't activate the droid 3 on your account when you called in about the missing battery and complained the computer only recognized the droid x because that probably what you had activated on your account, so that's why the second replacement was droid x equipment and not droid 3

Syncing faces with facebook tags

Hi,
I have a library of photos that I have gone through and organised with the faces feature. I have linked my facebook account with iPhoto and have selected the relevant facebook profile for each face instead of the profile from my contacts. Regardless of what I seem to do, however, I can't make these tags show up on facebook when I upload an album. What I mean is when I upload an album, the correct name appears as a tag on the photo however it is not linked to the appropriate profile (its just grey text as oppose to a link). I have tried everything concievable including adding facebook emails to the faces info tab but nothing seems to work.

I've the same problem (and we aren't alone - see the other question), I rellay think it is an Aperture bug I sent all night yesterday trying to save my faces (I cannot retag 8000 photos).
There is no way to stop tagging the pictures in facebook...
To save your faces db:
Go to prefereces-> web and delete the facebook account and then empty the trash...
You will save your faces.
Then you can recreate the facebook account without opening the albums (if you don't open the photo are not downloaded and so you avoid the tagging); in that way you can post new albums witout problem and reset again (it is very quick) if the problem reapper..

Wont let me post pictures on Facebook and overheating!!

I have had this phone for a few weeks now and I love it however a few issues have started creeping up,
Firstly I wanted to post some pictures on facebook, I attached them to a post but when I clicked 'post' it just totally came out of the app so I thought I may have done it too quickly not allowing them to upload properly onto the tag so I tried again and left it a good 5 minutes but again when I clicked 'post' it came out of the app. So I tried a 3rd time (this time with only 1 picture - before this i was trying to upload 3) and again would not let me and just totally came out of Facebook. I resulted in emailing them to myself and uploading them by my laptop!!
Secondly I charged my phone all night last night and it was full this morning before coming to work, around dinner time my phone had dropped right down to about 25% (id only txt a few times) and it was roasting so I decided to take my case off it to find my blue case has now stained my white battery cover, within 20 mins my phone was still roasting but the phone has completely turned off as my battery had gone. I googled to see if I could find a replacement back cover but no nothing!!! Really frustrated as my battery usually lasts around 2 days.
Can someone help me or give me some advice

I post pictures from my z10 daily on facebook. I would uninstall it from MyWorld and re-install it. The App might have been currupted at some point. Actually facebook needs to get their app property programmed for z10.. A lot of people have complained about the facebook app and facebook needs to utilize the app better with the z10.
For charging your phone, make sure you use the charger and the cable that came with your z10. Some of the old Blackbery Cables and chargers don't work, they actually drain your battery. There is a company who has replacement OEM covers , but currently they are out of stock.. I have the white z10 and I also want to replace the back cover with a black one..To create a diffrent look. I spoke to crackberry and they will also be ordering z10 back covers in the near future as a lot of people who want to swap covers to give it the oreo look.

How do I move pictures from Facebook to iPhoto that my friends have tagged me in? Please help I hope it is possible!!

I am over 16 years old so I don't use Facebook.
But this is what I found out.
Click on a photo in Facebook. Just below the photo on the left click Download, save the image to your Desktop. Now drag the image to your iPhoto library.

IPhoto '09 Facebook upload problem

I have been uploading photos using iPhoto '09 to my Facebook account for years. Just a couple of days ago I started receiving a message box "Do you want to set up iPhoto to publish to Facebook?" when I click on the Facebook icon. If I go ahead with the button "Setup" it opens another small box that is simply my Facebook page. So, it is logged in but the page is useless as I cannot configure anything with respect to iPhoto. I have logged out and tried setup again but that does not work. I also went as far as to download the Facebook uploader plugin that works via the Export function. This partially works but my photos are not viewable by my friends even though it says they should be. Does anyone know why the Facebook upload function stopped working all of a sudden and how to fix it? I am using iPhoto '09 version 8.1.2 (424). Thanks.

Thanks Larry. I found the discussion your were referrring to and it worked! I will paste it below in case someone else needs it.
Just solved it here after an hour+ of experimenting.
Try this:
• When you get prompted "Do you want to set up iPhoto of post to Facebook?" confirm and it will bring up your regular Facebook home page in a small viewer window.
• Go up to the upper right corner of the Facebook page and log out, then hit the "Close" button at the bottom of the small viewer window.
• You'll probably get the same "Do you want to set up iPhoto to publish to Facebook?" prompt again. This time hit Cancel
• Now try to share your pictures to Facebook again. You'll get the "Do you want to set up iPhoto to publish to Facebook?" message again. Do it and this time hopefully you should get a prompt to login to your Facebook account. Enter your Facebook name and password. This should reset your connection.
• If successful you should get a prompt from Facebook that you can close the page. Close it and fingers crossed, all should work again. That's what worked for me.

IWeb won't publish pictures in sRGB

Hi all,
Got iWeb 09 and running it on latest OS on MacBook Pro. Here is the problem - no mater what options i choose - it publishes pictures in some other profile other than sRGB. The problem is that when viewed in anything other than Safari - pictures look terrible (bleak, dull and lifeless).
Here is how the workflow goes:
1 - Prep images in Photoshop (all in sRGB)
2 - Save them in sRGB
3 - Import pictures into iPhoto
4 - When building gallery and adding pictures in iWeb, add images form Media Selector.
5 - Publish to local folder
6 - check images - dull, lifeless and in wrong color profile.
I've also tried to add pictures by dragging them from Finder into the iWeb - same result.
Tried turning on/off web optimization in iWeb and iPhoto, no change.
Please help

Can anybody help? Basically LR is useless, it has been nothing but problems.

I figured it out... I was trying to publish to an Album that had to many Photos in it....

Can't see any pictures on facebook

Hey I am new to this.
My facebook been working fine since I bought it (about a month now) and today am having problems with seeing pictures on facebook and there is no facebook logo in the cornor either. I am trying to access it through the normal blackberry browser but it works in opera mini browser but I don't get why its not working in the normal browser it just started today.

Have you tried a battery pull yet?
Also in the browser options, try to clear the cache, cookies, etc.

How to export pictures to facebook

Hello,
I am having trouble with exporting my pictures via facebook. I have the most updated version of CS5 and bridge (4.0.5.11) and can see the facebook export icon. When I try to log into facebook to add pictures it says try again later and when I close that dialogue box it says
"Facebook connection error.
An error occurred while connecting to Facebook. Please try again.
Facebook Error: An active access token must be used to query information about the current user."
I have looked this up in various places and have yet to find an answer. I am on mac OSX lion.

We have published an update for Bridge CS5 and CS5.1 Facebook service respectively, which include following features
1) Fixed login failure issue. In previous version, it will display an error message after clicking Sign In button.
2) Support Facebook secure browsing (https) . In previous version, if user enable secure browsing via Facebook website he/she will see an empty page after inputting user and password in Bridge Facebook service.
How to update?
The update will automatically execute when you open the Facebook service and you need to restart Bridge. Or you can click the fly-out menu of the Export panel and select Manage Modules, and select Check for Update menu from Modules Options.
This update is not a Bridge update. You will not see the notification from Adobe Application Manager. It’s automatically executed by the Export panel. But make sure your Bridge CS5 is updated to 4.0.5.11, or Bridge CS5.1 is 4.1.0.54.
For existed Facebook presets, you might need to login again.

I am very frustrated. After I enhance the picture on Lightroom Ifind it very difficult to transfer picture to Facebook. What should I do?

Without knowing what difficulty you are having, it's hard to advise.
But if I were you, I'd use Jeffrey Friedl's Facebook plugin - he tends to give such plugins a little more love than Adobe's "quick n' dirty" plugins, and if you have problems, he's generally willing to help.

Here is a workflow I found to work for me:
STEP 1 - Use FACES to name someone in iPhoto.
STEP 2 - Publish the photo/album to facebook.
STEP 3 - In facebook look at your album. You may notice that the person is tagged in facebook, but the name is not linked. This could be for two reasons. 1) The person is not one of your facebook friends; 2) you need to "link" the relationship between facebook and iPhoto. If the person is, in fact, one of your facebook friends but their name is not "linked" (highlighted in blue -- linked to their profile page) within facebook you should re-tag them in facebook and then delete the original link. Now, go back to your iPhoto album (the facebook album) and click the icon to the right of the album name to "refresh" or "resync" it. It will pull the NEW tag from facebook that you created and understand that it's the same person/name and it will finally start tagging that person correctly from that point forward.
STEP 4 - If you created NEW tags for people in facebook you may notice that they appear in your iPhoto ablums with the NAME of the person and a "f" blue facebook icon next to it. Simply click the "f" facebook icon to accept this tag as being correct. This will also link iPhoto's database listing for that person with facebook's so you should have correct links moving forward.

You are correct that the behavior started when you installed iOS 6 - but as Chetan6518 explained - you now have to configure it in the settings.
Along with the suggestion above, there is also a Photos setting in Privacy and that gives access to approved apps for photos as well.
Last of all, make sure that you haven't set a photos restriction in Settings>General>Restrictions>Privacy>Photos

Publishing photos on Facebook

I have done this so many times before without a problem and as it is so simple you would wonder why I have a problem!
I tried publishing photos to Facebook this evening but the "publish" button is greyed out so I am unable to.
Now - is it an iPhoto problem or a FB problem.
What can I do?
