Publishing Services lost. Help

I have Llightroom 5.7 on my computer and frequently download pictures to Smugmug, Flikr and Facebook throuogh the publishing services section in the Library Module. After downloading some photos today, I clicked on the Publishing Services section and it dissapeared. I now have only Navigator, Catalog, Folders and Collections in the Library Module. I tried restarting Lightroom and even rebooting the computer, Publishing Services is gone. Anyone have any ideas

Right-click on one of the other sections and put a checkmark back next to Publishing Services.

I was wondering if someone could explain to me how I can remove myself [ if at all! ] from having my number not published. This $2.50 a month isn't cutting it for me with pulling strings in this economy.

How does one transfer publish services configuration to a older catalog?

Hello!
An early suggestion from LR gurus & advisors was to set up separate catalogs as to not create an overly large therefore slow catalog.
LR3 established the published services ability which surplanted previous plug-in services that I'd used from their onset. (Thanks again Jeffery and others!)
While there was a hill to climb with publish services - normal in most transitions -, having gotten there, publish services has helped work-flow.
Unfortunately, there seems to be a hitch as when one opens earlier catalogs the publish services have to be re-configured. There does not seem to be any discussion or instruction as to easily transferring the settings or configurations for publish services to other catalogs. Any thoughts other then configuring each different catalog?
I need to pull files from LR cats that go back to V1 (yes, I know how to update them - that's not the question.) and I have about 25 catalogs to visit and work which is a bit of updating for publish services. Btw, I keep a file card (written on a paper card no less!) to follow what is in each cat as there does not seem to be anyway to output an index of libraries. But the query here is publish services.

I frequently see this advise on the forums, and I would love to follow it, but it just doesn't seem realistic. I have LR 3.2 set to backup (and optimize) the catalog every time I quit. Since the catalog contains all the work I put into my images after I take them, I consider these backups as important, if not more so, than the separate backups I make of my raw images. The catalog backup takes several minutes on my existing big catalogs, I can only imagine how long it would take if everything was in one catalog.
I create a new catalog for each year, but I also have a "Processing" catalog, which is where I import new photos. I do all my processing in that catalog, which typically only has a few thousand image (even when I have a backlog to process). When I'm done developing a shoot and have complete my "standard" export tasks, I switch to my current year catalog, and use import-from-catalog to get the images into it. I switch back to the processing catalog and remove those images from it.
Am I missing something?
How long does it take to optimize/backup you 500k catalog?

Lost Publishing Services Plugins: Faceboog, Smug, etc

how can i restore the plugins

I was miising them in both places: left panel and the Plug-in Manager; currently I have managed to restore Publishing Services by installing latest upgrade
A few days ago my imac got a serious knock, but things were running rather smoothly;
but later i discovered that Lr catalogs got messed up, previews were lost and buck-ups so was v.worried
Touch wood, things now seem to be ok

Does [this firmware update|http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/firmware_hardware/imacefifir mwareupdate13.html] apply to your machine? If so, putting it on may fix the boot from DVD problem.

Lost "publish services" in new LR5

Set-Up Publish Services Help - Facebook, Smugmug, Shutterfly

Hi. I'm relatively new to Lightroom 5 and am trying to set-up/configure publish services to be able to share photos on Facebook, Shutterfly, and Smugmug. In all instances I am getting stuck when trying to authenticate my account on each of these social sites. Basically I enter my log-in information and hit authenticate and then nothing happens. Please advise what I am doing incorrectly. Thank you!

Publish Service and Collection Names

I am creating a publish service and need some information on the naming of publish collections.
I want to prevent the user from naming the collections anything but the name that is on the server. This needs to happen even on creation.
I know I can prevent the renaming by setting disableRenamePublishedCollection = false, but that does not help on the creation.
The best way to do this would to prevent the user from entering a name when they are creating a collection, I have yet to see a way to do this.
If not then need to set the name of the collection to the name that is on the server. I have tried this with no luck. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/662683?tstart=60
I cannot get the name of the collection to change right after it is created. It may change for a second then goes right back.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I thought of maybe making a thread that would wait a time then rename the collection, but I am lost on how to do that.

I don't know if this will help, but:
the catalog:withWriteAccessDo function creates an SQL transaction, and if any error occurs before that function returns the catalog changes are rolled back. Also, no changes take place until that function returns successfully. So try code like:

change name
end )
then check the status...
If the status is good, but the name isn't sticking, then I don't have a clue...

I think is a authorization problem but I have role to read and write in service registry. I can see this error in Service Registry Trace
Invalid Response code (401). Server [http://xxxxxx:50000/uddi/api/publish/] returned message [Unauthorized].
Any idea? Maybe the user you have to fill in Service Registry Configuration Wizard?

When I am trying to publish services from SOAMANAGER to SERVICE REGISTRY all the services are published successfully
I am able see a message in display log.But when i check the services in service regisrty i am not able see any service ...what could be the problem?where i can check the log?

Unable to set up Flickr Publish Services in LR4.1

I have tried on numerous occasions and end with the same result. After I finish setting up the parameters in the Flickr Publish Services form I receive the "Lightroom needs your permission to upload images to Flickr" I click on the "Authorize" button and then I'm taken to my account within Flickr. Once i click on the "OK, I'll authorize it" button, I'm taken to: http://lightroom://com.adobe.lightroom.export.flickr/#?oauth_token=72157630835444112-9ff8c 3faeafcb667&oauth_verifier=84249d3a8099d4dd, where I get another pop up window that says "This web page cannot be displayed"
No matter what I do I cannot get the publish service to work. I had no issues with Lightroom 3.6 using the same procedure. What has changed, or what am I missing? Please help. Thanks in advance.

You will need to have different configuration in each service.bat file as the SVCNAME must be unique across multiple instances, for example:
JBoss Server 1 service.bat config:

How to migrate publish service from Lightroom 4 to Lightroom 5?

I have been upgrading from LR4 to LR5. Then I imported the LR4 catalog. But no Publish service was following to LR5.
I have used the FLICKR plugin a lot - made more than 80 FLICKR-sets. Therefore I would be terribly sorry if I do not succeed in restoring the contact to the old service files. Does anybody know how to migrate publish services from Lightroom 4 to Lightroom 5? Very fine if it's going to be a kind of a workaround.

You'll need to backtrack a little, open your LR4 catalogue in LR5 and allow it to upgrade the catalogue with publish services.
If you've done work on images in the "wrong move" catalogue, identify those images, select them, and do a File > Export as Catalog. in the "right move" catalogue, bring this work in by File > Import from Another Catalog.
Alternatively, it may be worth looking at Jeffrey Friedl's Flickr plugin as he may have looked at this problem. Maybe someone here will know if it would help.

Lightroom 4 Publish Services will not connect to Flickr.

I have been trying to set up Flickr in Lightroom 4 Publish Services but get an error message when I press "OK, I'll Authorise it" on the Flickr authorisation page. The message is "The address wasn't understood. Firefox dosen't know how to open this address". Can anyone help?

Unfortunately, there isn't anything we can really do on our side, as the problem here is that the expected behavior is not occuring and the failure is outside of Lightroom itelf.
Here is what is supposed to happen:
1. Lightroom sends a request to your web browser to open an authentication page that is already built in to the host web site.
2. You authenticate, which gives permission for your account information to be sent back to Lightroom. This substitutes the need to enter a user name and password. It's a hall pass for Lightroom to send your files to your online account.
3. With authentication complete, the web page sends a token (similar to a cookie) back to Lightroom, which is then used whenever Lightroom needs to access the web servers to upload a file.
The problem occurs in step three. The token is not being sent to Lightroom. Instead, the web browser is keeping it for some reason and attempting to open it. This shouldn't happen, but Lightroom doesn't have any control over your browser. Some suggestions are to clear your temporary internet files and cookies to see if corruption there is changing the behavior. Also, the Facebook app for Lightroom may have some issues, try deleting this from your Facebook account (within your account settings on the website).

Best way to publish a collection to multiple publish services

I post a collection of images to Facebook, SmugMug and to a Hard Drive folder for syncing with my iPhone.
Currently I add all the photos I want to a regular collection. Once complete I select all and drag to each of the three Publish Services Collections and hit publish on all three. I've considered making the three Publish Services Collections Smart and telling them to include from the Collection that includes the name of my collection (really it would be helpful if there was a drop down list, but I digress).
Is there a better way of doing this? What is everybody else doing?

I use export instead of publish.
Granted, I'm not using the web photo services that don't support change detection without the publishing (or are there export plugins that do support change detection and removal of obsolete photos - true sync stuff like publishing except via export?).
TreeSync - for hard drive export-based "publishing".
WebPhotos - for exporting photos for web consumption.
ExportManager - for one-click exporting of all changed photos to all endpoint destinations.
I have requested a feature, as have other publish plugin developers, for a hook so that publishing can be started programmatically (via plugins). If this feature is added to the Plugin SDK, then export-manager will be upgraded and renamed export+publish-manager...
