Publishing through Muse and Hosting through Adobe

To begin with if this is the wrong area for this post please point me to where I need to take it or if a mod wants, please move it.
So I bought access to the whole CC suite so that I could learn some new things and expand my abilities but I am mostly just a photographer so outside of Photoshop and Lightroom I don't have a lot of experience, so if I sound ignorant.....well I am.
I started building my own personal site with Muse and if I understand correctly I can host it through Adobe using one of my five free hostings included with my CC sub. (I am still not entirely sure what that means includes) Now I would like to have a forum with it where registered people can post topics, comments, etc. and it can be moderated by myself and anyone I wish to allow moderator status. I read through several help topics and supposedly I can create one with Business Catalyst? All the information I have found seems to be either outdated or doesn't really go into much depth about what I am/need to do to make it work. If someone could point me in the direction of some more updated tutorials, guides, or whatever I would really appreciate it. I don't mind long videos or a wall of text I just need to find some current explanations.

A Creative Cloud subscription lets you redeem and launch five free sites, which are web basic in nature. You can use Business catalyst Forum feature, but to use it you need to upgrade the site plan to higher plan.

As correctly mentioned, it is impossible to have both integration to payroll and FI. but i guess most of the customers are asking this functionality is for the purpose of tax reporting.
It is possible to pay the expenses via FI and then activate the payroll schema related to the travel expense to populate it into payroll cluster.(This is pretty much depends on the wage type characteristic of the expense types associated with).

Can you try another keyboard?
Try setting up another account and see if you have the same problem when logged into that.

I just found out that Apple has ceased supporting iWeb! I have a large (50 pages) website developed with iWeb and hosted through GoDaddy. Is there information out there about how I can move my website pages to a supported app?

I just visited the Apple Store to investigate a new MacBook Air. I found out that iWeb is no longer supported!! I currently have a MacBook Pro that is less than 2 years old, running OS10.7.5. I have a large website that I developed using iWeb (hosted by GoDaddy). Does anyone know how I can migrate my 50+ pages to some new app? Is there some new app? Or will I have to start over from scratch? Ugh!!! Thanx.

You can still use iWeb 3 to maintain your webiste. Just copy the Domain.sites2 file from the your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder on your MBP to the same folder on your MacBook Air. Also copy the iWeb application from your MBP to the Applications folder on the MBA.
In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

Mobile version of muse site hosted through BC has quit working

For some reason after republishing a site for a client today, the mobile version has quit working. When I google search the site on my phone the address shows up as humanity.tv/phone/index.html which is correct but after you select it the safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found message comes up. Desktop and tablet version are working fine. Humanity.tv is the address.
I tried to clean up cache on my iPhone but its still not working. Could possibly be a cache overload on business catalysts side?

My client has a website / URL in use. I have designed a new website using adobe Muse that will replace their existing website, and I would like to use business catalyst to host the new site. What do I need to do to transfer the URL to business catalyst, and post the new site live?

You can use their BC login details and use them , which on publish the site will be under their account.
Please change the BC login from Edit > Preferences > Publish > Switch Accounts , for Mac it would Adobe Muse > Preferences

Play music on your iphone and listen through your car audio

I was wondering if there are accessories such as "Belkin TuneBase FM with ClearScan for ipod," "ipod FM transmitter," or "iCarPlay" for iphone.

I am one of those that has a cassette adapter. I have two strips of velcro (two strips provided stability) on the front of the dash of my New Beetle, and the other part of velcro on the clip of my iphone case. I have an iGo with iPod charge tip. Plugged in the charger and the cassette adapter (had to trim back the hard plastic, but I do have an adapter) connected into the top.
The sound comes through loud and clear through my stereo. And when I have a call, the music mutes out and I can talk as if on a speaker phone. Turn down the phone for better results when talking. I can even swivel the phone and watch a stand-up video. Don't recommend it while driving, but you can hear and occasionally see a video. But my wife can see just fine.
Anyway, that is how I do it.

I will putting this in the "Ideas for Features in Adobe Muse" section as well, but thought I'd raise the question and see if anyone has a workaround...
With Muse you can connect directly to your free or paid websites, but you CANNOT connect directly to the Free Partner Site.
You can use Muse to build the site, export it as html and upload it with a separate FTP program, but you cannot hit "Publish" in Muse and connect to the Free Partner Site.
However, Adobe has an option to UPGRADE your Partner plan to Standard Reseller Option (US $995) or Premium Reseller Option - private label program (US $1,995). I received this information via email after requesting it here: Partner Program FAQs | Adobe Business Catalyst
If you scroll down to "Can I still purchase a Standard or Premium Partnership?" you can request this info through "contact BC support"
Apparently, with either of these upgraded plans, it IS possible to Publish from Muse to the Partner Site.
This was confirmed in two different chat sessions, here's one:

Muse site hosted with BC not appearing on Google searches

Hi again... another quick question for you guys...my website www.crownmarketers.com is made with muse and hosted with BC. Ive put made paragraph style (h1, h2, p, etc.) and also have changed the page names to be more search friendly and also have added info to each image on the site under image properties. I also have done the metadata for each page including description and keywords. how can i make my site crown marketers appear when i search google ?

There is no fixed formula to get on first page of Google. But the important thing is "Make pages for users, not for search engines", one of the most important that factor affects your ranking on Google is how much people are satisfied or pleasured by your webpages. Few more things to consider,
Before using a keyword, make sure to research his popularity, Wordtracker, Google AdWords, Google Trends or the Yahoo! Buzz Index. Each of these sites provides a snapshot of keyword popularity.
Keywords should be relevant to the overall content of your page
Avoid using images to display important names, content, or links. Google's crawler cannot read text in graphics. Use ALT attributes for images
If there is more then one way to reach out to the same page, indicate the canonical (preferred) version of a page More information about canonicalization.

What version of Muse are you using? If it's not 2014.2, please go to the Creative Cloud Desktop App or creative.adobe.com and update.
The FTP login failure is most likely due to your host not supporting FTP Extended Passive Mode. In Muse 2014.2 switch to "Passive (PASV)" in the Connect to FTP Server dialog.
Regarding performance, how large is your site (in pages and megabytes)? How many Design view tabs are open? What specific operations are slow?
If you'd like to send your .muse file, I'll take a look and attempt to isolate the cause of slow performance. Please send me the .muse file at [email protected] along with a link to this thread. If the file is larger than 20Mb you can use a service like Adobe SendNow, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc. Thanks.

"Unknown Error" when attempting to publish through Muse

I recently updated my log in information to better organize log in credentials that I currently have deployed. I edited just the basic email and password as well as adding another one of my alternate email addresses. When I did that the ability to manage the site I have published through muse disappeared through the website interface. I also am receiving an "Unknown Error" when attempting to publish from the Muse application itself. Log in credentials are definitely updated and correct, just not sure where the others went.
Any help in the right direction is appreciated!

Some of my pages in the old site had very high organic search results in Google, so I need to keep the file structure of the new site the same. Since I published the Muse version of my site a few days ago, the number of visitors has literally dropped to just 10% of what it usually is!
Muse seems to create only a flat site (all pages are created directly in the root folder only), and the Plan structure in Muse does NOT carry through to the file structure of the site when published with "Upload to FTP host" . I am concerned that the Plan layout is only concerned with menu auto-fill functionality, and does not reflect any physical structure.
Any solutions? Am I doing something wrong, or is this a limitation of Muse?
