Publishing to Facebook Wall difficulty

I am new to Mac and do not really have any expertise. When I selected a photo to publish to my Facebook Wall the upload began but a message appeared which reads:
This operation couldn't be completed.
(NSURLErrorDomain error-1.)
The uploading rotating "Wheel" is still spinning but everything else seems to be frozen. I am not able to Quit iPhoto or do anything with the image. I apologise for sounding so inept in this question but I am truly "feeling my way" here. Even after shutting down the computer and restarting it makes no change to my problem. I would be most grateful for assistance in very simple terms that a beginner can understand.

Once the Facebook gallery is published you can double-click the gallery name and type in whatever name you would like.
Alternatively, add the images you want to an Album and name the Albums as you would like. When you click on the Album and then click the Facebook button, the name of the Album will be used as the Facebook gallery name.

  • I can no longer see my wall photos posted on my facebook walls nor can i see facebook friends photos on their walls. ty

    '''Dear Firefox,
As of yesterday morning, i can no longer SEE the my wall photos on my Facebook wall. Nor can i see the wall photos on others walls. I've been using Firefox for three + years, and appreciate the great service it provides.
Thank you for your help. :)'''

You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
*Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
*Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
*Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
*Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • Lightroom 4 Publishing to Facebook

When I attempt to publish to facebook I get the message: Lightroom is unable to create temporary files on the Volume named "Local Disk (C:)? OS is Win 7, 64 bit! 1 Terebyte disk with over 700 gigs free!

    Bibzie wrote:
Hi...Mine is fixed by right-clicking on the Lightroom icon.  In Properties,
I set the program to run as "administrator", giving it permisisions to
write the files to the disk.  Once that was done, it uploaded to Flickr
with no problems.  Of course, I only tested 1 photo.  I've heard it's
    REALLY slow.
Running an application like Lightroom as Administrator is ill-advised because you are now allowing Lightroom and all of its plugins (3rd party or otherwise) to do *anything* to your system, whether you know it or not. The broken exporting and writing to temporary files just started happening recently.  It could be something to do with the latest Windows update, or a bug in Lightroom that Adobe now has to fix because of a change to the OS.
Changing the permissions on the folder where temp files are written is another option (as another poster suggested).
What I did, however, was download Jeffrey Friedl's  "JF Flickr" plugin, which does work correctly (http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-goodies/flickr). It is quite robust. It takes a little work to setup all of your Smart Collections again but he clearly puts effort into maintaining it.  It didn't have the "API error" that the built-in plugin has.
Also what annoys me is that Adobe hasn't caught this yet or said anything about it.  The best I could find was this thread.  Native plugins should never be broken, Adobe!

  • Cannot publish to Facebook and Keychain Error

I want to publish photos from iPhoto 09 to Facebook but I've got some sort of endless loop error. See the screens at the link or read my description.
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/stanomatic/4113756464/in/set-72157622701757225/
I press the Facebook icon in the lower right and I get the drop down dialog which asks "Do you want to set up iPhoto to publish to Facebook?" I click the Setup button. Then I get the iPhoto Uploader button and I put in my Email and Password. Then I get this "iPhoto wants to use the "loginrenamed2" keychain." Please enter password. So I enter the same password. I didn't make this keychain. I never use keychain and don't understand how it works or anything else about it. Then it takes me back to the original screen, "Do you want to set up iPhoto to publish to Facebook?" So the loop starts all over again.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Keychain is what stores your passwords. Try use Keychain Access to repair them. It's in your Applications / Utilities folder.

  • Attempt to share to Facebook "Wall" creates "Aperture" album instead

Whenever I tell Aperture 3 to share to my Facebook "Wall" it creates an album called "Aperture" instead.
That album then doesn't even show up in my Aperture Facebook "Web" sync folder. In fact, many of my albums don't show up in Aperture.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Manny

I dislike that Aperture creates its own album on Facebook, where it posts your "Wall" photos. Ordinarily wall photos on Facebook are not part of a particular album, and if you uploaded several in a short period of time, they would appear as separate posts, and not as an album update. But if you do it from Aperture, they are grouped together as an album update, which  can ruin the effect. I haven't found a workaround except to export to your desktop (or other folder) and manually upload to the FB wall.

  • Photoshop Elements 12:  Unable to publish to Facebook

I just installed PE12 and tried publishing to Facebook.  This worked flawlessly in PE9.  PE asks me to authorize Facebook and I log in and receive a message saying that I am logged in.  I then return to PE and "complete authorization".  I was able to create an Album in Facebook from PE12, but the 9 pictures that appeared to successfully upload do not appear in Facebook.
    Any suggestions?
Using Windows 7 Ultimate and recently upgraded from PE9 to PE12.

Did they copy over your programs and settings to the new disk? You can't do that with PSE (unless you do a total system clone).
If that's the situation, you need to download and run this:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
And then go around and manually remove all the bits you can find from applications, hard drive>library>application support>adobe, and your username>library preferences and then reinstall from scratch. Note that spotlight won't help you with this, you have to do it yourself since spotlight is programmed to skip the files you want to find.

  • IPhoto is Not Publishing to Facebook

Is anyone else having this problem? I am trying to upload an album to FB. I have setup my account like it asks. Is says that it is publishing the thumbnails but when I check my FB account, the photos aren't there. I checked the other discussion threads but those solutions posted aren't working for me. I published one other album without a problem and now this. Any suggestions?

Thank you! Thank you! I actually had to change the name of the album I was using as a source. Renaming the album I had already attempted to publish did not work.
    1. Delete the album you originally attempted (and failed) to publish (under the Facebook tab).
    2. Go to the original album/event and rename it avoiding the &, *, or % characters.
    3. Follow the usual steps to publish to Facebook.
    4. Voila!

  • Safari and Facebook walls

Can anyone post on your friends' wall on facebook?  The box is missing for sometime now and there is no solution from facebook nor apple.
I loaded the same pages on Firefox and the boxes appeared.  And no, it is not a privacy setting issue because the photo strip above the box was missing as well.

    Hi Bubbelz
Thanks for your message, but sorry because I have to disappoint you; it doesn't work.  I even tried resetting Safari.  I thought it was my Adblock, but it wasn't coz i turned it off and facebook is the same.
Does anyone else out there experience this, or is this is this really locallised (me)?
See attached is my best friend's facebook wall on Safari.  Noticed there is no photo update and no box to write on the wall.  When I open the same page on Firefox, everything shows up as intended.
    ughhhhhhhhh

  • Iphotos won't publish on facebook?

I have previously been able to post/publish photos from iphoto straight to facebook. Now when I go to Share - Facebbook it comes up with Do you want to set up iphoto to publish to Facebook? Cancel or Set Up. When I choose set up it open a small Facebook window, a blue bar moves (looks like it is loading the photos) and then finishes but only give me an option to Close. When I do, nothing happens, I assume the set up has happened and try to re: share them but asks me the same thing. Pls help?? There are no updates needed on my computer so unsure why this has stopped working for me?
    Tks

Once I downloaded Yosemite the iphoto does not work anymore. So I went ahead and trash the app and attempted to reinstall.
Did you check, if iPhoto is really gone from the Applications folder? You should not be seeing an "Update", if you do not have iPhoto installed any longer. Make sure, it has been deleted from "Applications".
Then go to the main page of the App Store ("Featured") and search for iPhoto. If iPhoto is now showing as "Free", buy it for free to install it again.

Today,  after having published my website without difficulty for years, I got an error message saying that the file format was unrocognized.  Anyone have any suggestions.

You need to give some more info.
How are you publishing your site - iWeb FTP or another application? If the latter, is the encoding set to Unicode (UTF-8)?
Who is giving you this message - the server?
