Publishing vs. Hosting

I have created my site using iWeb. I have published it and can see it at "http://web.me.com/kropster"
I have registered a domain at godaddy.com for the kropster.com domain
I have also (succesfully, I think) created the alias at godaddy.com so that Mobile me is configured to host www.kropster.com
However when I go to visit www.kropster.com it says this page is parked free at godaddy
Do I have to pay godaddy to host this site also? I thought MobilMe (or mac or webme or whatever) was "hosting" this my website.

Firstly, did you enter your domain name in the personal domain settings of your MMe account?
If you entered your personal domain name, then at GoDaddy you need to set up CNAME under the DNS settings to look something like www, then CNAME and then forwarded to web.me.com. Did you do this? Sometimes CNAME will not work straight away and can take up to 24 hours to activate. If you wait it could be working by tomorrow. If not, then log into your settings and ensure they are all correct. It could be that you have forgotten something quite simple to fix. Either that, or call GoDaddy support and get help form them.

IWeb Widgets gone from Published Site Hosted by GoDaddy

I have been using third-party widgets to create components for my iWeb (3.0.4 version) website. They are Beyond iWeb Pro-Pack items. (I copy to iWeb html snippet code windows the code from the Beyond iWeb Pro-Pack widget and hit "apply" and they work in TEST mode). I tested everything on my site to a local file prior to publishing the site to the internet. Upon publishing to the internet, none of these Pro-Pack widgets are visible on my site. They all functioned fine when they were in Local file "TEST" mode. They don't even appear as blank boxes or question marks (which has happened when I have incorrect paths). I wonder if it is the pathways to GoDaddy? I have spoken to GoDaddy techs about my dilemma and they only say the path to my webroot is:
/public_html
This I don’t understand. Don’t I need http://www. ….. and other file references to get to the specific file in my webroot at GoDaddy?
Beyond iWeb Pro-Pack widgets I am using:
Apple Style Video Gallery (Youtube or Vimeo)
Simple Hover Effect
Panoramic Slideshow (Smooth Div Scroll)
Photo Slideshow
When I created the Pro-Pack widgets for iWeb I used file links (through GoDaddy hosting) like http://www.wildmonkeysproductioons.com/images/WMP_VIDEO_PHOTOS/....specific photo.jpg
or---inside the cover path [in Apple Style Video Gallery (Youtube or Vimeo)] or a Youtube link in the video path (example): http://www.youtube.com/embed/LWWLM8QhVaw?rel=0
I also have non-Beyond iWeb Pro-Pack generated widgets like Youtube video widgets that are also missing from the website. I believe the problem is not with my Pro-Pack widgets but with my pathways to GoDaddy.
Does anyone have any suggestions or helpful ideas?
I do not understand website building very well and website code, for sure, I do not know.

I took your advice and changed some file and folder names. I then updated my widgets to create continuity of connection with their files and photos in GoDaddy's File Manager. Now the BeyondiWeb widgets [Panoramic Slideshow (Smooth Div Scroll)] no longer recognize the path to them. No matter what I use as a path the link is broken.
GoDaddy says the following is the absolute path: /home/username/public_html/
My user name: wildmonkeys

Publish Provider Hosted (SP Online)

Hi guys,
I have created a default Provider-Hosted App in Visual Studio 2013 without modify any code. I tried to publish this app to my Windows Server and i can't get it to work. If i publish in Windows Azure Web Sites it works great. (i can't use Azure for prod)
My server is already in use for .NET Web Applications, and it is working.
I'm using a Self Signed Certificate in my Server, could be the problem? Or i should do something else (in code)?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create a basic provider hosted app and then you want to deploy the app in SharePoint online and app web in a Windows Sever.
Firstly, you need to register the app in SharePoint farm and then deploy publish app web to a remote web(your windows server). At last, deploy the app and add it to the app catelog.

I'm using Firefox & if you do a Save As a window opens where you can save the web page. Be sure to select Web Page, complete so you'll aslo save images, etc. You also have the option to save the HTML of you programmed the page.

Iweb/itunes problem - host parameter is null

i use iweb to publish and host our website. everything works fine, except... i have never been able to successfully publish a podcast to itunes through iweb. the error message in itunes is that the host parameter is null. i'm really scratching my head on this, because why would iweb offer an application that does not sync up with itunes automatically? please help!

What easy to use (MS or third party) tool can I use to create and host a webservice API on a SQL server database

I'm looking for a (MS or third party) tool with which I can create, publish and host webservice API's on a custom SQL database. For example a API which presents all customers, or validates a user login.
I prefer a tool that can be used without .NET programming skills, just using database scripts and queries.
Could somebody suggest a tool for this?

I followed your steps and I am not able to publish it. Ok, let me give my landscape.
I am using Netweaver CE 7.1 Trial Version and EHP1 for SAP Netweaver 7.0 Trial Version.
I created a simple calculator example in Enterprise Service Builder where in it takes 2 inputs and will give 1 output (simple addition).
I did save and activate the objects in ESB.
Now in SE80, I did see this Service Interface and created a proxy object and activated. I noticed that the "State" of the service is "Not released". How would we release this??
In SOAMANAGER transaction, I did create the endpoints. Also, I did notice that under Classification, the lifecycle status is "Not Released".
I cannot find this service in the "Service Registry" page.

Not working, nothing publishes.

I just installed the new iweb 09. Publishing is not working, the files stay red, instead of turning blue after uploading and none of the changes I'm making on iweb are being published on the web.

It is possible that there are issues with the Apple server.
I do have a MobileMe account but I wouldn't think of publishing my own websites there, never mind a client's.
The Apple server is not known for its reliability and has a restricted bandwidth so that its not suitable for business or commercial use.
The main downside is that it has virtually zero tech support.
I publish to Host Excellence and yesterday I had to move several websites to a new account.
Tech support provided me with all the instructions. When I went to direct the domain names to the new nameservers, I was told it would take 24 to 72 hours. It took 20 minutes.
Late last night there was a side server issue with the new account. I emailed tech support and, when I woke up 4 hours later they had fixed it and put a monitor on it to make sure it doesn't happen again.
This account came with 3 free domain registrations, 15 dedicated IP addresses and unlimited everything else for less than a MobileMe subscription.
With this type of account I can publish 18 different websites without resorting to sub sites, use custom forms, mail forward, redirects, autoresponders and bulk mail. I can run all kinds of scripts and a data base and even build a web store front if I want.
MobileMe was designed with small personal websites in mind and only allows one domain name forwarded using Cname. Any others have to use masking which is absolutely useless for SEO.
If you are really stuck and the site doesn't use hit counter, blog & photo comments etc, you can try uploading it by drag and drop to Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites.

Publishing Product Catalog without Images/Documents

But still for the activity - Setting Target for Publishing Catalog Contents, I would like to know the entries to be made when we do not need any document to be uploaded with product Catalog.

There are two process at work usually when you mention product catalog replication
1. The Replication (creation of the TREX index)
2. Publication of the catalog content this uses the function module COM_PCAT_IMS_PB_PUBLISH to publish the catalog content to a webserver.
If you do not wish to publish catalog content all you need to do is leave the "Publishing Computer ID" field blank during the replication process and the publication will not take place.
The configuration in Set Targets for Publishing Catalog Contents will be checked and used if you have decided to use the Publication.

But seriously, it seems like many people are just trying to seed these discussions (about how upset people are over the unknown fate of iWeb) with suggestions such as; Try this or that web site building alternative, or Apple isn't obligated to you, or "you can easily publish your site to another server" blah, blah, blah. The fact is, thousands of people (or more) have learned to count on iWeb and Apple's one click publishing AND hosting to make their web sites. They have learned to make great looking web sites quickly with iWeb. They like iWeb. Some of us have used it for years. Apple is likely pulling the rug out from under ALL of these people. Many Sites, Blogs, Podcasts, Business Sites etc. will now simply cease to be if Apple stops supporting iWeb during the transition to "iCloud".
The most frustrating thing of all is that Apple has not (as of yet) even said one thing about what will happen to all of the web sites already created with iWeb. They are just ignoring it so far. They have only given the press releases about MobileMe going away. It is rude in my opinion. Trying to "spin" the dialog about it now is not what is needed. I agree that Apple needs to answer the many legitimate concerns all the iWeb users are raising. And the sooner the better.

Office 2013 app-v packages

App-V Package".    Is this a download? I don't see it available as one when I login to my VLSC site.
We plan to install Office 2013 pro plus VLA LOCALLY (on C:) in our vdisk for virtual machines, but will want to stream Visio,Project,Access 2013 to our users' VMs, using App-V.    (We used to use Citrix XenApp to stream them)
In the Citrix world, "streaming" is the opposite of Publishing or Hosting (running the app ON the server). Streaming means it copies over the files to the user's C: drive on their VM when they launch the appl.

As far as I know, Microsoft Office 2013 App-V packages are created by using the Office Deployment Tool (ODT). The created packages may have Subscription Licensing or Volume Licensing.
You need to download Office applications through the ODT first, then convert it into an Office 2013 App-V package with ODT tool.

If i just fill the .txt file that is linked to the CEWP the web part div scales fine, but adding a nested div or an image and it doesn't scale down.

Sling mapping issue with Query String

For a button component, URL behaves differently with query string. Please let me know the sling mapping example for query string.
Button component behavior across env:-
Working Scenario:-
- In Author edit mode, URL pointing to "/content/<websitelink>"
- In Author preview mode shows URL "<host>:<port>/content/<websitelink>.html"
- In Publisher mode shows URL, "<host>:<port>/<websitelink>", we do not want "/content" before website link so it is fine.
Failure Scenario with query string:-
- In Author edit mode URL pointing to "/content/<websitelink>?username=han"
- In Author preview mode with URL "<host>:<port>/content/<websitelink>?username=han"
- In Publisher mode, <host>:<port>/content/<websitelink>?username=han - Here we see the content, which is not acceptable in our scenario.
Please let me know the mapping changes when we have a URL with query string.

Based on the configuration in /etc/map and the website that we publish, it translates and shows all the applicable combination in the Felix console http://<host>:<port>/system/console/jcrresolver.
2) How does Adobe CQ 5.4 resolve the right mapping, if we have multiple map folder like below in /etc directory with the same website with different rules.

etc/map.publish --> http --> <website> with property sling:match, sling:internalRedirect

Implementing BC ecommerce in a Muse site

Hello everybody, I have a website built in muse, published and hosted with BC, and I want to implement the ecommerce module.
I already updated my account, so I have the ecommerce in my control panel. The thing is that if I want to be able to manage the layout from BC I need to enable online content editing, which is not compatible with muse! so essentially everything I would edit online from the BC control panel would be overwritten any time I would publish some modifications on muse.
I saw an interesting tutorial ( http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/muse-advanced-cms-integration/ ) about cms integration in muse... it's about a blog and it's with the old interface...
Is there anybody who can help me to find a solution to integrate the cms of the ecommerce into my muse website?

Hi Luca,
It is not really designed for that and more advanced stuff. It calls Blog advanced and that is pretty basic.
Muse is a stepping stone into the web world, its not the ultimate tool.
You need to do layouts and for BC to work well in eCommerce you need to break out some extra javascript etc to get it working well. You have payment forms, shopping cart, product layouts etc all needing to setup and be managed by the client in the admin and the web company or designer/developer they work with needs to provide them with the features they need.

Radio button not visble

Within Captivate 7, I'm able to view radio buttons contained within quizzes from Captivate; however, once the file is published and hosted on the LMS the radio buttons disappear. There are no objects on the slide and the master slide background is being used on the stage. Any suggestions?

Somewhat related, my radio buttons look fine authoring and previewing but once published and pushed to SCORM Cloud, they are cut off on the right.
I looked through all of the objects in the Object Style Manager of the Themes and nothing radio-button related there. I used the indent capability of the choices on the master slide for the MC questions but it only widened the gap between the choice label (A, B, C...) and the choice text, not the gap between the radio button and the choice label. Was just going to post on this but may be same issue as yours?
