Publishing website with flash - size

hello,
I would like to know how I can publish my wesbite with a bit
of flash in on a host without the flv files, hence with only the
swf files. for some reason when I put my flv files external to my
website folder, the videos dont play anymore in dreamweaver cs3
preview.

I do not waste my time with that SEO app. Or any app.
But SEO experts will argue that it is very very very important to use it if you want to be found.
I'am found. And I don't use keywords.
http://www.google.com/search?q=wyodor
But same SEO experts will argue that it isn't the right answer.
They usually have this kind of disclaimer at the end of their salestalk :
"I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link."
Need I say more.

  • Websites with Flash Not Loading

My browser is IE7, after installing Macromedia Flash Player I
am still unable to view websites with flash, I have checked add ons
in the browser settings and it shows that flash is enabled, in
addition I use McAfee Security Suite.
Any assistance as to solutions or settings I can try,/change
    would be appreciated.

    You're welcome.
I'll be backing up to a 1TB ext. drive, so I'm going to set up Time Machine and maintain regular backups.
Time Machine is great for recovering specific files/folders. I find a clone backup much more effective for going back to a previous HD state. I think both are essential. The latter is created with SuperDuper or CarbonCopyCloner.
I have Time Machine and a bootable backup on a 750 MB HD. One partition matches the size of my iMac HD (297 mb); the rest if for Time Machine. Works well together. I create a bootable clone every few weeks or so, or just prior to a significant update to the OS, such as an incremental update, eg 10.5.6 to 10.5.7, or any Apple update requiring a "restart". This way, if something goes awry I simply can start-up from the clone and copy it back in a few minutes to the HD (only those files that have changed in the update are copied).

When I opened iweb it opened as a file I deleated. I have a published website with godaddy and would like to update. How can I open the existing iWeb app to the site that is already published?

You cannot retrieve the already published site as iWeb CANNOT open it - it has no import facility.
You need your domain.sites file, which you can find under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.  You do not need any kind of account for this because it is your domain.sites file that resides on the hard drive of your Mac anyway.  Find this file and you can alter your website.
Use a spotlight search to try and find it and if this does not work you can download something called Find Any File.  If you really can't find it, then you'll have to start from scratch because iWeb cannot open a site that is already published.

If the Flash object has focus then key presses are processed by that plugin.
In such cases you need to click outside that plugin (e.g. the menu bar if you can't click on the website) to make the keyboard work.

How do I open these types of websites on my IPod Touch Software version 3.0?
This is a huge oversight if it cannot be done and a Flash Player App is not available for download.

This is a huge oversight if it cannot be done
Flash is a proprietary technology owned and controlled by Adobe. It's nothing to do with Apple. Flash is also slow, buggy and RAM hungry. You can't really expect a technology that even runs poorly on relatively high-specced computers to run that well on a low-powered handheld device.
Web-sites are generally moving away from proprietary technologies like Flash in favour of open-source technologies such as Javascript, AJAX and HTML5 - all of which work on the iPod touch, and can reproduce many of the Flash-type effects you see on Flash web-sites.
Over time, I'm sure Flash will be used less and less as more and more people access the web 'on-the-go' from handheld devices, and open-standards become the norm.

  • Websites with flash content are causing tremendous CPU usage!!

    Greetings!
I finally installed the long-awaited version 4 of firefox, and I am really disappointed. In addition to slight sluggishness now and again, it turns out that websites with Flash content (even those sites with a little flash advertising banner) are causing my CPU usage to really go up.
It's slowing down my machine, making my CPU fans spin loudly, and making for a disappointing web browsing experience.
I have disabled all add-ons, and done the usual. Even tried installing Chrome for the first time ever!
The problem is definitely Flash + Firefox 4.
I have created a brand new profile, but no dice. Wondering if anyone else experiences a high CPU load on pages with flash...

Adobe Flash Player has also been crashing periodically on 2 of my computers, I'm still running XP, one of them a powerful HTPC, Dell Optiplex 755 SFF over a new Cable Internet Connection. Buffering, Lagging, crashing when streaming video for Catchup TV (Freeview) via Firefox Adobe Flash Player Add-On, does not happen on Youtube though. Lagging & Crashing does NOT occur AT ALL in Google Chrome, but I hate that browser.
Have tried the usual disabling Flash Hardware Acceleration + Protected Mode, setting storage to Unlimited, disabling FF Ad Blockers + Hardware Acceleration, cleaning Caches, updating program versions, everything bar reinstalling programs. It's not happening in Chrome, why in Firefox?

Can you open up your Real Player and tell me what version you have? I think Real Player 15.0.6 is supposed to fix this problem. There was a conflict between Real Player and Flash this whole summer that broke Flash videos. Real Player released a update that might help in your case.
If that doesn't help, I think a addon might be to blame here. So do this:
    <br> '''Firefox button <img src=https://support.mozilla.org/media/uploads/images/2012-03-27-09-22-48-1204f1.png> > Help > Troubleshooting Information'''
<br> (or '''Tools > Help > Troubleshooting Information''')
Then click the "Copy all to clipboard" button then paste it here. It will tell us what addons you have installed and I can see which one might be causing problems.

  • Firefox closes on websites with Flash content

I have been experiencing this problem after the last couple of updates. I'm currently running 3.6.6. On nearly every site that runs Adobe Flash content, the content loads to the point that I know it will work, but Firefox stops loading the content, freezes, and then closes with no error messages. I reopen it and it asks for a session restore, but only about half of the time. The other half, it restores the tabs to about 10 seconds before the crash. I would open Speedtest.net, for example, it would load the player to when the blue line appears in the bottom, and then the loading wheel in the tab would freeze. After that, it closes. It has happened every time I opened that website. It would happen on other site with flash games as well.
I have reinstalled Adobe Flash by uninstalling and then reinstalling. I have also manually upgraded Firefox again. None of these have fixed the problem.

Open up computer case, unplug and take out the processor fan cooler and wipe out all the dust, speccially in the heatsink, with a soft little brush and compressed air spray (also check power supply fan). I discovered this solution after weeks of trying all software related recommended steps and nothing worked, adobe flash player was still crashing in firefox, chrome and opera even after completely uninstalling flash and installing latest version 10.2.152.26 of the plugin. I realized this was the problem when pc started to crash unexepectedly when not playing flash videos. So, EUREKA, that did the trick for me. Hope it does for you.

  • What workarounds are there for OS X 10.3.9 users on websites with flash?..

What workarounds, kludges are there for users of OS X 10.3.9 encountering websites with the new version of flash?... what alternate ways are there to get the content?

What version of Flash do you have installed? The last version for 10.3 was version 9. If you don't have it, download from http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/10752710
The only other option is to upgrade to Tiger 10.4 and use version 10.

  • Some websites with Flash crash Safari, OmniWeb, Camino (9.0.124.0)

For several weeks, I've found that some sites with Flash will
crash OmniWeb, Safari, and Camino. The applications don't quit, but
they do freeze with the spinning pinwheel. I have cleared the
caches and history for each with no change.
The first site that I noticed this on was
    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/index,
but I've since found the same behavior on other sites.
The problem is the same on two different computers: 1.
PowerMac G4 dual 450 MHz, 1GB of RAM, plenty of disk space, running
10.4.11. 2. Mac Pro dual 2.8 Gz, 2 GB of RAM, plenty of disk space,
    running 10.5.2, fresh install.
I've attached a sample of what was happening in OmniWeb at
the time of crash, taken using Activity Monitor.

Upon further investigation, it appears to be a JavaScript
calling Flash Player that's the problem. In OmniWeb, using
site-specific preferences, I was able to turn off JavaScript for
    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/index.
Loading the site no longer crashes OW; if I turn off JavaScript in
Safari, it also loads the site.
I have run into other sites that cause the same problem,
however, so this solution will continue to be hit or miss.
I don't know whether there is anything that Adobe can do to
solve this problem, but some investigation would be helpful.
    Thanks.

  • Error message when attempting to publish page with flash content in cs6

    Good day,
I have a number of websites that I have created with content from previous versions of flash that I have installed in my html pages.  This year I have been repeatedly frustrated by the flash movies working on my computer then not working after I have uploaded them.  It came to the point where I avoided working with the flash projects but it is something I have to work out and would greatly appreciate any help I could get.
After not working with the movies for a few months I came back and attempted to edit them again, this time receiving the attached error message which may be the resolution to my problem.  The message says I cannot stream with the current settings.  This may make sense as the movies work fine on my computer.
Any help would be a great kindness.
    Thanks

    http://www.missourimemorial.com/index2013.html
this has the failed flash file in the page of course its not working.
    Please help - thanks

That alert is just to tell you that you have something in your movie's Library that is set to export for Actionscript. most likely in frame 1. This will cause your movie's download to wait until that object is downloaded to the user's computer. If there is more than one object with this setting, then all of those objects will need to download first before the movie can begin, or to stream.
The problem of your your movie now showing up is completely different. It's impossible to tell where the problem is from looking at the html pages that you provided. The problem may be simple, you may not have the .swf in the proper folder, or the name may not coincide with the swfobject function that you are using.

  • Websites with flash photo galleries do not display photos in firefox.

    I manage several websites that use the 'expose' photo gallery. Expose uses flash to display photos in the photo galleries. When you go to one of these web sites and click on the photo gallery link, the photos are not displayed, the page shows the gallery buttons but no photos. Using Internet Explorer or Chrome browsers, the photo galleries work fine. Here are 3 web sites to view;
www.wishardgallery.com - click on photo gallery
www.applemanart.com - click on art gallery
www.jewelimages.com - click on any of the gallery links on the left menu
Do the same with IE or Chrome to see the photos displayed.

  • Dynamic website with Flash?

I'm using Dreamweaver 8 building a coldfusion website. The
    content for
the webpages are pulled from an MS Access database. I'm
    trying to add
in a flash photo gallery to a few of the pages. If I put the
    flash
code directly on the webpage it will dispaly the flash photo
    gallery.
However, if I put that same code into the database and
    display it
dynamically it will not display the flash photo gallery. I
    have
checked the source code of the dynamic page after it has
    loaded and
    the code is there.
I'm sure the problem has something to do with the slight
    delay it
takes for the code to be pulled from the database. Does

Usually the best source of information on working with a
template is from the site where you purchased the template. There
may be supplimental information packaged with the downloaded files,
or there may be comments written directly into the files
    themselves.
Exactly how you modify the file will depend on how it was
designed, what version of Actionscript was used, whether it uses a
component, or an swc file, and how well it was created.

  • Firefox crashes/closes on websites with flash

This started yesterday when I was prompted to download and install the 3.6.7 update for Firefox. After restarting the browser, I get a message that it was not installed correctly, and then it closes without warning. It does not give the usual message that there is a problem and Firefox needs to close.
After experimenting, I've noticed that this only seems to happen when trying to load websites that include Flash content. Gmail and Youtube cause it to crash immediately. Other websites, like Facebook and certain forums will load initially, but will crash on certain pages, where there is probably a flash video or other application.
I tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode, but I still get these crashes. When I go to about:crashes, I get no reports of the recent crashes.
I still can't update Firefox to latest version, so I still have 3.6.6. Every time I try, the installation fails. I do have the latest version of Flash.
I believe I've tried everything suggested in the Knowledgebase, so if anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.
