Pulling data into IDM via ActiveSync Adapter

Hello,
I am doing a proof of concept on IDM and am trying to import user data from MySQL table into IDM. I wrote an active sync adapter to do this so that whenever a new row is added to the MySQL table, the information is automatically fetched into IDM and a new IDM user is created.
However here is my requirement and I am not sure if this can be done. When I pull data from the table, I want to associate this user with a resource that has already been defined within IDM and the user account thus created should have the resource assignment.
Can someone post some tips/ sample code for this if you have done this earlier.
Thanks,
Prithi.

for the active sync transaction you have two options:
1) call a workflow (i prefer to use this)
2) use the input forms. You have access to two forms. the first is the form assigned to the active sync. the other is the form assigned to the admin user assigned to running the active sync.
variables come in on the "global." namespace. So you refer to them as "global.firstname" etc.
the docs say that you have a "activesync" namespace..but if you dump the context, it doesnt exist.
Perform your mappings either in a workflow or via the forms. I dont like the forms, as they only allow a create, and update, or a delete. And what client only has those types of transactions?
best of luck.

  • Pulling data into BW on HANA from MFG Pro application

    Hi,
I have a requirement to pull data into BW on HANA from MFG PRO system that runs on Progress database. Which of the two techniques - DB Connect or UD Connect can be used. Do these methods (DB Connect and UD Connect) support delta loads in this scenario ?
    Please advise. Thanks.

    Hi Saurabh Diwakar,
Even I have not used UD connect so far, so my knoweldge is also limited. But you can get lot of documenation about UD connect since is s very old feature.
UD connect support delta you can verify it in the SAP help document

  • Benefit of using store procedure instead of select statement to pull data into biztalk

I was wondering why store procedure is more beneficial than using select statement to pull data into biztalk?

In addition to the above two points, in case if there is a change in logic of stored procedure, you only need to modify the stored proc and the applications calling/using it may be left intact.
Also, stored procedures are complied code so performance is better and safe too.

  • Calculations while entering data into table via table maintenance generator

    Hi all,
    This is the following requirement.
I created a ztable and also I created the table maintenance generator.  I have two fields which accept integer data.
The requirement is when I enter value in the first field from the tcode SM30 the data should be populated into the second field automatically by subtracting the first value from 100.
Can anyone explain me how I can do that.
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    hi,
take the help of events in TMG and write the code in that event
    like field2 = field1 - 100
    steps to create events
    Step: 1: Create a table
Step: 2: In SE11, go to Utilities --> table maintenance generator.
Step: 3: Follow the path Environment --> Modification --> Events.
Step: 4: Click new entries, select a table maintenance dialog event which suits your requirement.
Step: 5: Create a form routine.
Step: 6: Include your logic in the routine created in step 5.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Linking a new resouce with user account in Sun IDM via activesync

    Hi,
I am having a new resource which contains the user records. Now I want to link that resource to the existing and new users in Sun IDM.
I do not want to update and create user in the new resource. I just need that a link is created in Sun IDM when ever activesync runs on users account.
Please guide me how to achieve the same.
    Regards,
    Nitin

I'm afraid I can't share the exact code but it should be straight forward through the following:
    1. define a field (call it ldapDN)
    2. create a rule to user getResourceObjects to search for the user DN and return the DN to ldapDN.
    3. when ldapDN is not null, expand waveset.resources and add your LDAP resource, like:
    <Field name='waveset.resources'>
    <Expansion>
    <append>
    <s>LDAP</s>
    4. Then set the accountId for that resource as
    <Field ........ accounts[LDAP].accountId>
    <Default><s>ldapDN</s></Default>
and you should be set... hope it helps.

  • How do I send string data into DIAdem via a channel?

Using a TO.DATASHEET reference, ChnValSet doesn't work with strings. It's fine with numbers and dates, just not strings. I'm not sure if the CHT variable is useful for me or not. Thanks.

    Hi Deca,
You can use the CmdExecuteSync method of the DIAdem.TOCommand interface to set the value of a text channel. For example passing the string "CHT(1,1) := 'test'" as a parameter to the CmdExecuteSync method will set the 1st row of the 1st channel to "test". Please refer to the DIAdem help for more documentation on the CHT function.
I hope this helps! Please post back if I wasn't clear enough in explaining how to do this or if you have any problems getting it to work.

  • What is the best way to put LabVIEW DSC data into an Oracle database?

I have been collecting data using LabVIEW DSC 7.0 for several years and have always accessed the data from the Citadel database via the Historical Data Viewer.  I would now like to begin putting this data into an Oracle database.  My company stores all their data in Oracle and it would provide me all the benefits of their existing infrastructure such as automated backups, data mining tools, etc.
My initial thought is to use "Read Trace.vi" in LabVIEW to pull historical data from the citadel database at regular intervals (e.g. 1 minute) and insert this data into Oracle via ODBC.  In this way, I do not need to track the value changes in order to know when to write to Oracle.  I also considered replicating the citadel database using some other method, but I recall that the tables used by citadel are somewhat complicated.  I only need a simple table with columns for channel, timestamp, and data.  The "Read Trace.vi" will provide me data in this format.
I do not need to update the Oracle database in real time, a few minute delay is acceptable. If anyone has a better idea or additional insight please let me know. Thanks.

In terms of connectivity, you want to use ADO, not ODBC. Beyond that, it all depends on the structure of the data and what you are going to want to do with it. This is a very big question that you need to be getting some in-depth assistance.

  • Non PeopleSoft data into EPM Warehouse

I've probably placed this question in the wrong forum and for that I apologize.
I'm brand new to PeopleSoft in general and EPM in particular. We are in the process of installing the app to begin pulling data into EPM from our PeopleSoft module. But one of the first major pieces of data that we are going to need in our EPM warehouse is from an in-house written application. Can anyone point me to any applicable best practices or documentation for including this non Peoplesoft data? I've searched and not had much luck, so I'm apparently looking in the wrong place.
    Thanks,
    Alan Junell

It may be worth having a look at the supported systems for ERPi - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/erpi_admin_11121501/ch01s01.html
Though your question sounds like what you are trying to achieve initially is to load non peoplesoft data, it depends what product you are trying to load to and what format the data is in before really options can be given.

  • Loading data into two cubes

We want to set up a delta refresh from R/3 data that will pull data into two cubes.  One cube I want all the records to be loaded, in the second cube I want to filter the records that are loaded into that cube.  I can figure out how to load the data into two cubes, but can I place a filter on one of the loads.  (i.e. only load records of where type = 'X')
    Thanks,
    Chris

You can do that in the Update Rules to the second cube... In the Start Routine...
    DELETE FROM DATA_PACKAGE
    WHERE type EQ 'X'.
    (Please, verify the right syntax)
Then with only one Infopackage, you can load both cube with different conditions.
    Hope it helps.

  • Pulling data from Google Spreadsheet?

Has anyone had any luck pulling data into extendscript from a google spreadsheet?  I realize I have to use bridge to make the connection, but I'm wondering about how to actually pull the data.

If you could share with a http and not a https service - you could set up your own site and save the document there
You should be able to figure out from this script - http://rorohiko.blogspot.co.il/2013/01/geturlsjsx.html - how to get the info from the web in to idesign.
You just need the getURLs function in the script and not the script label part of the script.

I want to load it to the following table
    SQL> desc apr_agent
    Name Null? Type
    NAME VARCHAR2(100)
    EMAIL VARCHAR2(100)
    OFFICEID VARCHAR2(50)
    WEBSITE VARCHAR2(1000)

    So I created a directory
    create or replace directory APR_STG as '/opt/smarteragent/procdata/APR';
and I created the following insert statement
    INSERT INTO apr_agent
(NAME, email, officeid, website, photo, phone_direct, phone_cell, mod_date)
WITH T AS (SELECT XMLTYPE(BFILENAME('APR_STG','agents.xml'), NLS_CHARSET_ID('AL32UTF8')) xmlcol FROM dual)
    SELECT EXTRACTVALUE(VALUE(x),'/ROW/name') NAME,
    EXTRACTVALUE(VALUE(x),'/ROW/email') email,
    EXTRACTVALUE(VALUE(x),'ROW/officeid') officeid,
    EXTRACTVALUE(VALUE(x),'ROW/website') website,
    EXTRACTVALUE(VALUE(x),'ROW/photo') photo,
    EXTRACTVALUE(VALUE(x),'ROW/phone_direct') phone_direct,
    EXTRACTVALUE(VALUE(x),'ROW/phone_cell') phone_cell,
    EXTRACTVALUE(VALUE(x),'ROW/mod_time') mod_date
    FROM T,TABLE(XMLSEQUENCE(EXTRACT(T.xmlcol,'/ROWSET/ROW'))) x;
I am currently getting now rows inserted. Not sure why?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, if you were to run the SELECT statement alone (from WITH on down), you would see that it is returning 0 rows. After some head-scratching and searching you would come to realize it is because your XPaths are not finding any data in the XML. In your XPaths, you are looking for a root node of ROWSET with a child of ROW. In the XML, the root node is agents and the child is agent. Assuming you are on 10.2 or later, your SELECT statement itself could be written as
    SELECT NAME, email,
           officeid, website,
           photo, phone_direct,
           phone_cell, mod_date
      FROM XMLTable('/agents/agent'
                    PASSING XMLType(BFILENAME('APR_STG','agents.xml'), NLS_CHARSET_ID('AL32UTF8'))
                    COLUMNS
                    NAME         VARCHAR2(100) PATH 'name',
                    email        VARCHAR2(100) PATH 'email',
                    officeid     VARCHAR2(50) PATH 'officeid',
                    website      VARCHAR2(1000) PATH 'website',
                    photo        VARCHAR2(1000) PATH 'photo',
                    phone_direct VARCHAR2(100) PATH 'phone_direct',
                    phone_cell   VARCHAR2(100) PATH 'phone_cell',
mod_date     VARCHAR2(100) PATH 'mod_time');and then you could just append that to your INSERT so you have something like
    INSERT INTO apr_agent
(NAME, email, officeid, website, photo, phone_direct, phone_cell, mod_date)
SELECT NAME, email,....If the count of 1382 is to be believed, then you may start wondering why your INSERT is taking so long to process. Performance will depend upon many factors.
If you are on 11g (any of them), then you have an option to improve performance over 10.2 and earlier versions. You simply create a table, it could even be a Global Temporary Table that looks something like
    create table TEMP_XML (XML_DATA xmltype)
xmltype column XML_DATA store as securefile binary xml;(if on 11.2.0.2 or later, you only need)
create table TEMP_XML (XML_DATA xmltype); Then you insert the XML data into it via
INSERT INTO TEMP_XML VALUES XMLType(BFILENAME('APR_STG','agents.xml'), NLS_CHARSET_ID('AL32UTF8')));and change the above SELECT statement to read from that table instead, such as
    SELECT NAME, email,
           officeid, website,
           photo, phone_direct,
           phone_cell, mod_date
      FROM TEMP_XML tx
           XMLTable('/agents/agent'
                    PASSING tx.xml_data
...And then you'll be done with that task.
Note: Only the first SQL statement was verified, the rest should be valid but have not been executed/verified.

    Hi BW guru`s,
Does anybody tell me how to pull SAP-CRM data into BW.
Is there any configuaration setings takes place in CRM system or BW system?
Provide few of CRM datasources names (Transaction data Datasources)
Please explain indetail and give some examples.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi.......
SAP CRM uses BW Adapter to extract data from SAP CRM and send it to SAP Business Information Warehouse and SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence. For mBDocs, BW Adapter extracts objects for CRM business transactions and CRM billing use the BAdI CRM_BWA_MFLOW. However, in releases prior to SAP CRM 2005, after using transaction code RSA5 to activate business content in SAP CRM, you must use transaction code BWA5 to activate the business content for the BW Adapter.

  • Pull data from a table in HTML format from external URL into a Servlet

How do I pull data from existing website html table into a Servlet?
I will need to pull the data into a servlet. So, the servelet will need to go to the URL and get the data and save them as variables.
I know I will need an array to store the data. I just dont know how to call the URL and have the servelet search the site for the <table> </table>.
I will later use this to save to a database.
    Thanks
