Pulling in sequenced png files?

Hi.
I'm trying to pull in numbered sequence files that I'm shooting out from after effects.
In flash this worked like a dream. I could pull in a whole range of clips into a movie clip.
is there something else I could export out of from aftereffects that would work better? is this thing trying to bring svg back from the dead?
What I'm trying to do is simple.
Have a movie clip with a bunch of sequenced pngs. On the main stage there will be 2 buttons that tell that movie clip what frame to start playing from.
is this possible? it should be easy but its the kinda thing that might be out of reach at this time.
thanks,

You can dynamically load both of those file types (FLA and MP3), so they do not have to reside in the Flash file.  I am not very much experienced with either video or sound, so I cannot say that the WAV file is also something you can load dynamically, but I know that mp3 files can be.

  • Animating 2 png files over a video sequence ?

    Hi everyone,
I have some video on the time line.  I also have 2 .png files which I want to be animated, so... png file1 is shown, then png file2 is shown,
then png file1 is show, and so on.
I've created a new sequence and pasted both .png files onto the timeline, so first png file1, then png file2 right after it.
    So far so good.
I want to repeat this for about 2 minutes  so that it repeats over the main video sequence as it plays.
The only way I can get this to work is by highliting both files, right clicking on them and choosing "copy" and then
repeatedly doing a "ctrl-v" to have them pasted onto the timeline.
I'm wondering if there's an easier way to do this.  I've tried nesting the files and that doesn't work, I've tried grouping the files
but this doesn't work either.  If I group the 2 png files for example, and then right click on that new group, and choose "copy"
and then do the ctrl-v ( to paste ) it only pasts 1 of the png files and not both, evne though they are now a "group"
nesting doesn't seem to work either.  I've tried also using the "insert" from the source monitor, and this will only paste in a single
.png file, and not both as I want.
    Any ideas appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dave.

    Hi Bill,
your answer was the correct one so I've marked it as "correct answer" I guess I just thought there was a faster way.
As for hitting the "end" button, there isn't even a need.  once you start pasting using the Ctrl-V keyboard combo, the frames just keep inserting on the time line in the correct manner and will just keep do that until you stop pressing Ctrl-V
I've learned that once you have a few Ctrl-V's done, you should go back and now highlight that new bunch of frames that have been added, so for example
you add the first 2 frames to the time line, now copy them to memory, and do Ctrl-V say 10 times, now you have a total of 20 frames, now re-highlight those 20, and now Ctrl-V will now add 20 frames at a time, instead of just the inital 2. Repeat that again, if you want to now do 40 frames per Ctrl-V and once it gets to that amount, the time line can fill up quite fast.
Well, glad I asked, I can't be the only one out there that has done this, so glad I was on the right track.
thanks to all who chimed in, it's appreciated.
    Dave.

  • Extracting resourse like .ai & png files from a flash project

Hi! I have been assined the task of extracting the images from old flash projects and am having a devil of a time doing so.
There are lots of programs that you can extract info out of the swf files, but these don't give you the original .ai Ilustrator files that may have been used to create the presentation with, or png files with transparent backgrounds.
Is there a plug-in in Flash that allows you to capture these items in the document?  when I drag the item from the library (lets say a .ai file) to the stage and right click and copy it, it only gives me part of the item when I paste it back into illustrator... and when I drag the PNG resource to photoshop I get it with a background I do not want.
any help on this would be great!!!!
I have both cs3 and cs4 so a solution in either one would be great!

Well that is kinda what I've been doing, only its not quite that simple as doing it that way makes an image of what is on the entire stage.  What I have to do is create a new project copy over all my library items to the new project, and pull over each one individually and do it that way.... if you have a lot of items in your library (which I do a lot of times since these contain a lot of animation sequenced into individual frames) this process can be quite tedious.  Yes you can save out to .ai illustrator files this way as well.
I was hoping for something a little more... automatic or at least where I don't have to drop each item individually on a stage, reposition, ect...
But yes, the previous post is one way of doing it with some fooling around with.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 Crashes When Opening or Saving PNG Files

I'm having an issue where opening or saving PNG files causes my copy of Photoshop CC 2014 to crash.
I've updated to the latest version, restarted my computer and have no plugins installed. I have also re-installed the program from the Creative Cloud application, although I haven't tried a full uninstall/reinstall sequence.
I'm running an x64 version of Windows and have tried both the 64 and 32 bit versions of Photoshop - neither works.
Other file formats don't appear to cause any issue - the problem is specific to PNG files (does Adobe Photoshop depend on any PNG library like LibPNG? Perhaps an older version has been installed by a different application?)
This issue seems to have occured in the past on the Adobe forums, but there is no clear resolution.

Part of the information is missing but your running CC 14.1.2 not CC 2014,  and14.1.2 needs to be updated to 14.2.1. I also can not see the date of you video drivers.  Here is what my CC 2014  and my 14.2.1 looks like

  • Tools to fix Adobe png files & add ICC profiles?

I want to submit and use pictures in a lossless format like png, but I've noticed that my colors don't get reproduced as vividly when I save in png vs. jpg or tiff because Photoshop (CS5/windows) seems to have broken png support (I guess it gets worse in CS6)... storing color profiles in png's while not widely done, have been part of the standard for over a decade.
Given Adobe's place a providing the premier image editing tools, It's hard to believe they'd not support accurate color in lossless images for the web, but I've yet to see any Adobe produced png that that contains a profile.
I do note, that libpng, the most widely used library for pngs, does have the ability
to read and store ICC color profiles.
Maybe I'll have to write a post processor to add them on... as some programs do read them... and at least once, recently, in reading in a png file, I got a profile mismatch from Photoshop -- indicating that it can read profiles (OR, the file was only named .png, and
was actually a .jpg -- if only I could remember what file it was...sigh...)...
Maybe adobe could release an addon that automatically adds & prompts for
profile settings on saves (assuming PS can use them)...
Any work flows where people add them?  Does PS read them in properly?
    Tools used?
    Thanks...,

Yes -- it does save a color profile, but it doesn't save it in a way that renders the same as tif and jpg in either Explorer or FF. or a ICC-color handling -in-hw photo view program.
when I read it in, told me about  a color profile mismatch, so I allowed it to convert to my current profile
I'm not sure why you chose to convert the image to a different profile.  That muddied the water.
Generally speaking, properly color-managed applications will interpret PNG, TIFF, and JPEG images per the profiles embedded by Photoshop, and the images will look visually the same, though you may see small differences in the color numbers.
That's shown here by my having saved three equivalent images, in PNG, JPEG, and TIFF format, all tagged with the ProPhoto RGB format.  I then opened them in Windows Photo Viewer, Photoshop, Safari, Firefox (which does not open TIFF files natively), and IE9 (which does not open TIFF files natively, and does not do a complete job of color-management on images).  I also showed the thumbnails in Explorer, though to be fair that's the same codec code interpreting the images as in Windows Photo Viewer.
Keep in mind not all applications are properly color-managed, and what you see from those that are not (e.g., IE) can be subject to settings on your own system.
Beyond that, not every color-management system produces perfectly accurate results (including Photoshop's under some conditions), nor does every one necessarily use the same options (black point compensation, etc.) so the color numbers will be seen to differ a little.
Also, JPEG compression can result in some color inaccuracy.
Oh, and capturing your screen and publishing an image should involve a conversion, or at least publishing the image tagged with the monitor color profile, because RGB values pulled off your screen are of course expressed in your monitor's color space.
You'd think in this day and age that things would be more nailed down than they are, but it is what it is.  Bottom line, though, is that if you're SEEING VISIBLE DIFFERENCES, you probably have a color management problem on your system or you're expecting better color-management compliance from an application than it's actually delivering.
It's too late and I'm really far too tired to get into a deeper conversation on color-management.  Such a thread could go on for days, and they usually do.

  • Animation with .png files - from Maya 3D

I need to import an 3-second animated sequence (created in Maya 3D by someone else) into FCP Studio sequence.
I have been given a folder with 90 .png files. Is there quick/easy way to do it?
The individual .png files open up fine.
They only have experience with premiere, and thought I should be able to import it as sequence?
Any suggestions? Do I force them to output as .mov file? They don't know if they can preserve alpha channel (we need to keep background transparent).
Thanks for any suggestions or help!

The iPad expects the photos to be in a folder named DCIM, and have names 8 characters long plus the extension. i.e. image001.png
Do your png files meet this criteria?

  • Missing VOB file type from pull down list of file formats

All of a sudden I can no longer import vob files.  This had been working fine, but then I installed Encore, updated everything (Premiere shows version 4.1.0) and now the vob files I had previously inported are no longer recognized and a vob file type no longer shows up on the pull down list of file types that can be inported.
    Any suggestions?

Does any MPEG variant still show up, for instance in the Sequence Presets does it show HDV, XDCAM, or similar?
If not, you have been bitten by the Installer Bug.
Many have experienced problems in the sense that after updating, their full version reverts to trial status. Often this is caused by either a faulty installation previously or having used at one time the trial version. The best solution, cumbersome and time consuming, is to uninstall, run the CleanScript 2 or 3 times and reinstall and then apply the updates again.

  • Error Compiling Movie: Unknown Error - compiling .mxf files and .png files

Hi there, really hoping someone can help here!
I'm attempting to output a Premiere Pro CS6 v.6.0.0 timeline through the AME V6.0.382 64bit and am getting the "unknown error" at various points during the output. The timeline contains .mxf files directly imported from a Canon MX105 recorded at 1980x1080 - the sequence is in the same resolution - 25p 50mb. It also contains .png slides, .jpeg slides, titles, transitions, 3-way color correction, mutliband audio compression, a volume plugin. I've tried "watching" the output as it renders and removing potential "bad frames" within Premiere but I've done this 3 times and they keep rearing their head later down the project, and I can't afford to remove any more clips.
I'm working on an OSx v10.8.2 Mountain Lion Mac with 2.6g i7 w/8gigs RAM.
Any help greatly appreciated, I'm quite new to this so any further information required to troubleshoot, just ask.
    Thanks,
    Paul

I'm having (what appears to be) the same problem.  I've spent a total of 8 hours talking to Adobe tech support about it, and they've said they would look into it.  Here is a project containing two consecutive frames of my animation; the first (4965) does not load (and appears with the "Media pending" image if you try to view it), but the second (4966) loads fine.  In every other application I've tried, both images load fine.  Adobe support said "there's something wrong with the header" but I've looked at them with several programs (e.g. below) and can't see anything different between the file that works and the one that fails.

  • Memory leak in IMAQ Write PNG File

    Hi,
I have a labview program that I'm using to do Speckle Patter Interferometry - it takes an image, takes a second image after some time, then subtracts the original image from the first and saves the subtraction.  The process reveals fringes on an object deformed on wavelength scales.
The problem currently is that the program seems to have a memory leak.  When I run the program, the amount of memory being used (according to Windows Task Manager) just keeps going up and up then after about 20 minutes, it crashes with the error:
    Error 1074396159
Not enough memory for required operation
The error is normally when the file tries to write the png file - though that is the part of the program that takes the most time so it could just be coincidence that it happens at this point in the loop.
I've tried using the labview profiler (output attached), but can't see a particular VI that is using an abhorrent amount of memory.
I'm fairly stuck for ideas - I've attached a library with the VI and its sub VIs - if anyone would be so kind as to give me a hand I'd be very much appreciative.  I realise that my code is quiet messy - this is my first attempt at labview (albeit quite a long way into my first attempt) so any suggestions would be much appreciated also.
    Thanks
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
I'm glad to hear that you managed to fix the problem in your code. I have had a look at the code you posted and I have a few suggestions on how you can improve it.
In your code you haven't included the error clusters from the VIs. Most sub VI functions included in LabVIEW will have an Error In and Error Out port that will transfer any error information through the VI. If an error does occur in the code, the error will be passed through the rest of the VI. If a sub VI or function receives an error at its error in port the VI will not execute and the error will pass through until it reaches the end of the VI. At the end of a the VI there needs to be an Error Handler function to display the error information. As error information flows through the VI the same as the data, using error clusters is a good way to determine the flow of data through a VI. This is a good way to determine the data flow through the VI as opposed to Sequence Structures which should be used in moderation.
I have taken a segment of you code and made some minor modifications to demonstrate how error clusters can be used (see screenshot below).
Error clusters can be implemented into any logic for the stop condition of a while loop. The Unbundle by Name using the Status option can be used in conjunction with the error cluster to produce a boolean output depending on if an error has occurred. If an error does occur, the function will produce a true and if an error does not occur it will produce a false. The error cluster can also be expanded by hovering the mouse over the top or bottom of the function and dragging the grey box up or down. This is useful for when you want to produce multiple outputs from the same data, such as the histogram data in your VI.
Another thing I noticed in you code was some redundant logic. You had set the Stop button default on your front panel to true, which meant that an inverter had to be used to stop the first while loop and the stop condition in the last while loop had been changed to Continue if True. If you had kept the stop button default to False and the stop condition of the last while loop to Stop if True, the inverter on the first while loop would not be needed. This however is only a small issue but its something you could keep in mind when writing other code.
Hopefully these suggestions will help you to further develop you LabVIEW code. I understand that implementing these suggestions into you current code could be an issue due to the size of it, but they are good features to consider when developing any code in the future.
If there is anything you are unsure of please do not hesitate to post any questions. I will be more than happy to assist you.

  • Fireworks PNG file to iPhone

I am trying to use Fireworks to create PNG files to use in my iPhone app and they are not rendering properly.  I have read that Firworks has it's own PNG format, do I need to do something special to make it work with the iPhone?
    Thanks for any assistance.

    Hi Steve:
I pulled this from the iPhone Resource Library:
Note: The standard bit depth for icons and images is 24 bits (8 bits each for red, green, and blue), plus an 8-bit alpha channel. The PNG format is recommended, because it preserves color depth and supports an embedded alpha channel. You can use the Preview application to produce the final PNG file.
You do not need to constrain your palette to web-safe colors. Although you can use alpha transparency in the icons you create for navigation bars, toolbars, and tab bars, do not use it in application icons.

  • OS X Mavericks - Update 10.9.2 Mail does not send png files

I updated my macbook pro on Saturday with the 10.9.2 OS X Mavericks update and since then I cannot send a .png file (screenshots etc) by mail, it is not recognized and to the recipient it just arrives like a tone of characters.
Is there any way I can fix that as I really use mail a lot to send files like that. I even saved the .png file as jpg and still does not recognize it. Actual photos I had on my computer were sent fine.

    Hi Katering,
This week, I had the same problem.
I don't know if is the solution... so, i put the name extension to "on" and my .png file are recognize with hotmail...
    Do this with your mac:
From the Mac OS X Desktop, pull down the “Finder” menu and choose “Finder Preferences”
Click on the “Advanced” tab (gear icon)
Check the box next to “Show all filename extensions”

  • Edit a png file... change colors and text and then export to gif?

First I want to state that I am VERY new to Fireworks and I am trying to figure out how this works!  I typically use Photoshop.
I was sent a PNG file (from a friend).  The file has many buttons on it that I believe are somehow saved or exported out as gif images to be buttons on her website.  All of the buttons are basic rectangles that are gray with black text.  She was told she could edit all of the buttons quickly in Fireworks (change their color, font color, etc) and it would change them all together.  Then save them all out so we would have the individual gif files for the buttons to save to the directory.
So... I am able to open the png file in Fireworks and I can select each button or all of them, but I cannot see how to change their color and font, etc.  I know this must be very simple!  Can someone help me?
    Thank you!
    Sharlyn

Have a look in the ocument Library panel to see if the buttons are Symbols. If yes, then double click on one of the buttons to open it in the symbol editor where you can easily make changes in all of them at once.

  • Error 1004 occurred at Open VI Reference in Directory of Top Level VI.vi- Check Path.vi- Read PNG File.vi- ValveUI.xctl:LoadBackgroundImage.vi- ValveUI.xctl:Facade 1.vi:29- ValveUI.xctl:Facade 1.vi.ProxyCaller

I am trying to dynamically load the background image of an XControl facade using a 'LoadBackgroundImage.vi' that I have written. This SubVI has worked with a normal VIs panel before. It utilizes the 'Read PNG File.vi' from Labview to read in a transparent PNG file to overwrite the Facade background. When the XControl is loaded during design-time it generates an Error 1004 indicating that the 'Read PNG File.vi' is not in memory. I have tried to place a static reference to this vi to force it to load but I still get this error. What is the solution?

    Darin, thanks for your reply.
The XControl Facade is rendered on the Main FP when the Main.vi is opened in design mode. Previously I have placed a PNG image onto the Facade pane (i.e. drag-n-drop the image onto the Facade FP during design) and it is displayed on the Main.vi FP in design mode when Main is loaded. However, when I include a call to Read PNG File.vi in the Facade I get the 1004 error. You may not see this error without using a Simple Error Dialog. This failure to find Read PNG File.vi in memory is the main issue.
I have tried to use SubPanels before - they are useless for my purposes for many reasons (they don't show the underlying SubVI pane in design mode, they require the use of SubVI references to load - preventing the use of direct wiring to the SubVI connector, etc.).
Do you know how to dynamically load and call 'Read PNG File.vi' so that Labview is forced to load the VI and then Read PNG File can load the PNG image? I can get 'Read PNG File.vi' to dynamically load and show property values but to call it with the 'Call By Reference Node Function' I need a strict type def to be generated, etc. So what are the steps needed to create a dynamic call to 'Read PNG File.vi'? I haven't seen any good working examples that show how to create the strict typedefs that are required etc. There is no right-click > Make Type Def > ...  for Read PNG File.vi or other ways to do this that I have noticed. Showing a finished example doesn't show you how to do it (menu selections, etc.). Or, do I have to hand construct these typedefs by reverse engineering the VI?

  • Problem in using PNG files....

    Hi everybody...
    Whenever i use ImageIo.read(filename) function to read a PNG file....it returns a bufferedImage with Type = 0....
and i cannot use this type of image to perform convolution operations....
    how can i solve this??....
Another problem is that whenever i save it using the write method....the size of the new file is way too large than original image.
    ( ex - 250 kb(source image) - 1.5Mb(saved image))
    how can i solve this??
    plzz someone help me...
    itz urgent!!

I'm making educated guesses here but I suspect you may be loading a palettised (ie <16M color) file and convolution probably requires true color - you can convert by creating a new image and rendering into it.
As for writing out, you can adjust the write settings by tailoring the relevant ImageWriteParams... there should be plenty of info around if you Google.

  • How do you open and save PNG files as images rather than a document (which my MacBook is doing automatically)?

    Hi,
Basically I'm doing a course in which i need to import images on a document for evidence (in particular Cirque Du Soleil, yes it's a weird course!) I am using the develop menu tab and using the Inspect Element menu. Here i have found loads of images that are perfect for my evidence, but the images are all showing as PNG files. Whenever I try to save these they will only save as Documents and not images. How can I change this so I can save them as images and import them imto Pages.
    Many Thanks
    Mason

    Hi @Shootist007
I knew PNG files were image files, that why i was confused when I saved them onto my Mac they were showing as Documents under file type. But i managed to do via Preview (opened it up in Preview then click and dragged to my document).
    Thanks for your help
