Pulling Mobile Device Info from ConfigMgr

I setup a connector between ConfigMgr 2012 SP1 and Service Manager 2012 R2. Also, the ConfigMgr environment is setup to sync devices from Exchange 2010. However, it does not appear that the ConfigMgr connector in Service Manager is pulling the mobile devices
into the CMDB. I have confirmed that the collection selected in the connector has the mobile devices in it. I have also confirmed that the account used in the connector has the correct permissions. I have tried just about every combination I can think of to
get the ConfigMgr connector to populate mobile devices in the CMDB.
To ensure that is not related to this one environment, I also setup the connector in my lab. My lab is using ConfigMgr 2012 SP1, Service Manager 2012 SP1, and Exchange 2010. I connected a Window Phone 8 VM, an iPad, and an Android VM to Exchange via Active
Sync. Then I setup the connector between Exchange and ConfigMgr. The mobile devices were brought into ConfigMgr. Then I setup the ConfigMgr to Service Manager connector, and once again it did not bring over the mobile devices.
I am suspicious that it may not be working because ConfigMgr does not consider these to be managed devices. This is due to the fact that they do not have a ConfigMgr agent installed. I noticed that when I setup the connector, the number listed next to the
All Systems collection does not match the total number of actual systems in the collection, but the total number of systems with the ConfigMgr agent installed. To confirm my suspicion I setup a Windows Mobile 6.5 emulator, and setup my ConfigMgr as an enrollment
point. I then installed the ConfigMgr mobile agent on the 6.5 emulator image and synced it with my management point. After confirming the device was connected, and in the All Systems collection, I ran the ConfigMgr connector in Service Manager. When the connector
finished running I confirmed that the Windows Mobile 6.5 device with the agent installed was present in the CMDB under the Mobile Device (SCCM) class. However, the Windows Phone 8, iPad, and Android devices are still not imported by the connector.
Has anyone run into this before? Is there a way around this?

  • Unable to uninstall Apple mobile device support from Programs and features using Windows 7 on PC.

    I've uninstalled all Apple software and reinstalled iTunes but everytime I try to connect my device to the PC I get a message saying to uninstall iTunes and AMDS but the AMDS is not uninstalling properly even after I've cleared iTunes from Program files and tried stop/starting AMDS through administrator tools.
    Help please.

    Others might find this process useful for issues with iTunes 11.1.4.62....
    Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
    Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
    The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:

  • Possible to pull location (geotagging) info from Flickr?

    I've geotagged all 7,046 of my photos on Flickr. Is it possible to pull that information from Flickr into Places in iPhoto 09?

    Yes, Apple added the ability to set geotags via AppleScript in one of the "bug fix" updates to iPhoto. So you'll need to make sure you have the latest version, which you would want anyway because it fixes many (unfortunately not all) of the bugs in Places.
    (It made me very happy that they opened a legitimate way for third party developers to geotag, even though it missed the first release. Although for my own app it still took some extra problem solving to get other details right...)

  • Why is iTunes pulling the podcast info from my blog? Conflicting info.

    Hi there. iTunes is pulling the title and description of my blog and listing it as the info for my podcast, instead of the podcast info I have in my feedburner account.
    My feedburner feed is:http://feeds.feedburner.com/pleasefeedrichamooi
    My blog is:http://www.richamooi.com/
    Do you know why? Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Your iTunes Store page is at
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/rich-amooi/id526262280
    This is showing the info in the Feedburner feed: for example the 'Podcast Description' shows the contents of the 'itunes:summary' field:
    'Romantic Comedies, Parodies, and Absurdities. All 100% Gluten-free.'
    and similarly, for the only episodes, the 'itunes:subtitle' and 'itunes:summary' tags both read
    'This was a radio commercial I wrote and voiced for Michael's Construction.'
    and this is what shows in iTunes for the episode. The title, 'Rich Amooi', is the same in the feed and in iTunes, so I'm not clear what it is that you are seeing as wrong.

  • Is there a way to compleatly remove my iphone 4 device info from my computer

    Not sure how to word this , for the past 2 days i have been trying to sync my iphone 4 to my itunes ( sorry if this question should be in the iphone section )  but it didn't appear in my itunes  until today , but now in the device manager it is listed under portable devices but the driver information is listed as a digital camera?  it does come under Apple Iphone in device manager, so how do i clear the computer of all the usb and devices  and drivers so i can start again with the iphone right details and drivers?  also everytime i connect the iphone i get a new hardware found box come up  even though the iphone was already installed???

    The way that iOS devices are manufactured, its nearly impossible to get a virus or anything on your iPhone. All apps are sold in a closed market (the App Store), and there are no anti-virus software apps int he App Store.
    Unless you have jailbroken your device, you have nothng to worry about. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3743

  • How do I get the iTunes store to pull and use updated info from Gracenote?

    I'm helping a music group fix their CD information, which was incorrect in the Gracenote database. Gracenote made the corrections, but the iTunes store is not reflecting the changes. I verified the changes were made by inserting the CD on a PC, and, through the iTunes client, asking it to pull the track info from Gracenote. The info is correct.
    However, if you use the iTunes client to go to the store, the info in the store does not match what was pulled when sticking the CD in the drive and querying Gracenote. Also, if you go to the CD URL via a web browser to preview or purchase a digital download, the iTunes store web site is still showing the wrong information.
    How do I get the iTunes store (that is, Apple's server, not the iTunes client) to pull and use updated (correct) CD information from Gracenote?

    Geek Girl,
    The official Content Provider relationship with the Store depends how it was set up, and may be the group or their agent or a 3rd party such as TuneCore.  They can go back through the same official channel that put the tracks in the Store in the first place.
    Or, if it is simply an error, as opposed to an official change by the Artist, you can try the Feedback page:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

    1. Open Safari

    I can have it open all 150 links at one time.....lol but that wont work on my Macbook!!!!
    Help please!!!

    Hello
    You may try the following AppleScript script. It will ask you to choose a root folder where to start searching for *.map files and then create a CSV file named "out.csv" on desktop which you may import to Excel.
    set f to (choose folder with prompt "Choose the root folder to start searching")'s POSIX path
    if f ends with "/" then set f to f's text 1 thru -2
    do shell script "/usr/bin/perl -CSDA -w <<'EOF' - " & f's quoted form & " > ~/Desktop/out.csv
    use strict;
    use open IN => ':crlf';
    chdir $ARGV[0] or die qq($!);
    local $/ = qq(\\0);
    my @ff = map {chomp; $_} qx(find . -type f -iname '*.map' -print0);
    local $/ = qq(\\n);
    #     CSV spec
    #     - record separator is CRLF
    #     - field separator is comma
    #     - every field is quoted

        my $f = shift @ff;    # file path
        if ( ! open(IN, '<', $f) ) {
            warn qq(Failed to open $f: $!);
            next;
        $f =~ s%^.*/%%og;    # file name
        @dd = ('', $f, '', '', '', '');
        while (<IN>) {
            chomp;
            $dd[0] = \"$2/$1/$3\" if m%Link Time\\s+=\\s+([0-9]{2})/([0-9]{2})/([0-9]{4})%o;

  • Apple Mobile Device

    I updated my daughter's nano on Sunday with a software update and then trie to update my touch with new songs but my touch was not able to connect because the apple mobile device was not started. I checked the help section on itunes and uninstalled and reinstalled itunes. This did not work I telephoned technical support and after 2 hours of toing and froing I was told to put my touch in recovery mode and to restore this using itunes. I have done this but now my touch will not restore and is now useless. Can anyone help. I have tried connecting my touch to another computer but this does not work either.

    I would try a few things here...
    Check to see the status of the Apple Mobile Device Support process under services. You can check this by going to your Start menu then click Run. In the field there type "services.msc". Then click on services local. Look for that process and check the status. If it says stopped then restart the process.
    Also, you could also try the steps from here to troubleshoot using msconfig...http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302538
    That will test to see if there is something that's loading on startup in your system that's preventing the Apple Mobile Device Support from running.
    If neither of those two help then ensure that you've uninstalled ALL the components of iTunes before reinstalling. They include... iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Updates, and Quicktime. If you notice that the Apple Mobile Device Support isn't even on your Add/Remove programs list or you couldn't find it under services then it could be that something is preventing it's proper installation. In which case I would try the msconfig steps detailed in that kbase article and then install iTunes with those items disabled.

  • Event ID 4 while attempting to access Mobile Devices list in ECP/OWA

    Hi Community!
    We just recently setup an Exchange 2013 (CU6) environment migrating away from Exchange 2010.  Our 2013 environment has 1 Mailbox server and 1 Client Access Server.  Everything appears to be functioning correctly between 2010 & 2013, except
    when attempting to access the Mobile Device list from a user account within Exchange Admin Center in 2013.  We receive an error 400 Outlook Web App Options and Event ID 4 on the Mailbox Server.
    Thank you to anyone who can shed some light on this issue.

  • Apple Mobile Device Suppurt not installing with iTunes 10.6.3

    Hey guys, any help with this would be much appreciated., I had an issue a couple of days ago where I couldn't reinstall the latest itunes (10.6.3) I have now managed to install this current version but with one major problem, Apple Mobile Device Support didn't install with it. I tried everything, I've tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling it again with and without the anti virus turned on, I've tried a system restore, I've tried using an old version of Apple Mobile Device Support, and still nothing.
    My itunes keeps saying this whenever I plug in my iPad, "This iPad cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install the 64bit version of itunes" I've done that, it didn't work, however, itunes has managed to install successfully on my desktop pc, which is Windows XP, with apple mobile device support, but the machine I'm having trouble installing itunes with Apple Mobile Device Support on is my Laptop which is running Windows 7. I doubt this is a problem with my laptop, the system restore I did confirmed that, and the issue only returned when I tried reinstalling the latest itunes.
    Is this problem with Apple Mobile Device Support not installing with the latest itunes a bug? i hope so, because I've  read up ways to solve this problem but alot of it gets too technical and I'm not the most technical person when it comes to computers and all that.
    Is anyone else having similar problems, if so, how did you solve it?
    Thanks, hoping to hear back soon

    I've also read somewhere about using Win Rar to extract files to do with apple mobile device support from the itunes installer file, would you recommend that to? I don't really fancy the idea of doing anything that involves my registry because knowing me I'll end up screwing my laptop up for good lol
    It's a little more involved than just doing a standalone AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi install, I'm afraid. The relevant drivers in AMDS are not digitally signed for 64-bit XP, so you have to force XP to accept a driver install that it would try its damnedest to not do. There's no driver issues for other 64-bit componentry in the installer package (I think the GEAR drivers install on XP 64-bit systems), but I believe there's still a bit of fancy footwork involved in getting them installed too ... although it's been a long time since I've looked at an instruction set, and I might not be recalling those things correctly. (So if you're not comfortable with system modifications, it might be best to steer clear of the Orca-based techniques ...)

  • Apple Mobile Device Service Stopped Working 8.2

    Ugh. I know there have been many posts on this, and I've tried all the suggestions, but nothing has helped.
    I'm running Vista Ultimate x64. I upgraded to iTunes 8.2. The second it finished installing, I got a message that said "Apple Mobile Device Stopped Working and Was Closed". The computer recognizes my iPhone, and there are no errors in the device manager, but iTunes says "iTunes can not sync with the iPhone because Apple Mobile Device Service is not started. Here's what I've done so far:
    I added application exceptions for everything in the Apple Mobile Device and iTunes folders to my Norton 360 firewall.
    I uninstalled everything Apple related (including mobile device service, bonjour, etc), cleaned my registry and re-installed 8.2.
    I uninstalled again and went back to 8.1 The mobile device service worked, but when I opened iTunes I got an iTunes message that said "iTunes can not open ituneslibrary.itl because it was created by a newer version of iTunes."
    I uninstalled, reinstalled 8.2, uninstalled just the mobile device service, and installed just the mobile device service from 8.1. Everything was fine until I opened iTunes and got an error message that said "iTunes recquires a newer version of Apple Mobile Device Support. Please upgrade".
    So at this point it looks like my options are: Go back to 8.1 and start over with a brand new library (which is a huge pain because I've got over 300 gigs of music and at least 50 playlists that I use for my work) OR stay with 8.2 and not be able to sync my iPhone (also a huge pain because, well, I need to be able to sync).
    Here's the log entry in my Event Viewer every time the "Appple Mobile Device Stopped Working" error pops up: "Faulting application AppleMobileDeviceService.exe, version 2.50.39.0, time stamp 0x49f9b7cf, faulting module RPCRT4.dll, version 6.0.6001.18051, time stamp 0x48002cd4, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00018092, process id 0x14d8, application start time 0x01c9e9f70b1e30ad."
    Does anybody have any ideas? Does it have something to do with my system being 64 bit and where iTunes installs its drivers and such? Is there another update coming soon, Apple?
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Stay with itunes 8.1 - sounds like that was working for you.
    Get the itunes database file for itunes 8.1 out of the *Previous iTunes Libraries* folder.
