Punch-In issue

I am doing a recording project and noticed that when I punch in a small section the whole track I did the punch in on reverts to an older take.
I originally recorded an electric rhythm guitar track. I later decided to record over that track with an acoustic guitar. I punched one chord in that was out of time. When I stopped the recording the whole track then reverted back to the original electric track I recorded.
Does anyone here have any insight as to how to remedy or the cause of this problem?

Nested Multicam Monitor Punch-in Issue?

I've gotten requests for providing "a little bit of everything" involving videotaped music performances. Previously, I've only provided a whole song utilizing the multicam editor window to scub back and punch in then roll edit to the beat.
"A little of everything" required syncing up all the footage and creating a multicam src for each song. More work :^( I'm glad to see that I could cut & nest the best parts of each performance.
Then something strange...
I srubbed back to the beginning of the next song, pressed the red record button in the multicam monitor, highlighted a camera angle, pressed play and though I recorded properly, seeing the correct song in the multicam monitor and/or the program monitor.
Upon playback, the previous song's video continued to play, overwriting it subsequent nested song. The audio is uneffected. I assumed, no problem, just delete the previous song & ripple/roll edit back the next song's clip to the beginning...
But the next song's video start is now stuck where the previous song ended it's overdub/overwrite. So I believe pick-up "punching in" (like audio) in nested multicams is not allowed. Is this true?
I believe now I must ...
1. Make a rough recording pass in the multicam monitor. Do NOT stop, scroll back, switch camera angles and punch-in across nested multicam's start and end edits/borders.
2. Use the ripple tool to slide cuts to the beat, then manually chose a camera angle directly from the video clip's pop-up list in the timeline.
3. Possibly use the razor tool to add a new edit point to switch angles.

Urgent help - Punch out

We are having a punch out issue with one of our suppliers catalog. We could log on to their portal linked with us, but we are getting a suppliers general Portal page when we click return to requisition, instead of returning the items to our shopping cart from the suppliers .
The supplier is saying there is a problem with HOOK_URL.
My question: Who should maintain the HOOK_URL? Supplier or Customer?
we did not make any configuration changes on our side though.

Check the html form returncart whether the catalog items are returning back to shopping cart. Check the action parameter of this returncart form, what value is paased into this. This should be directed to your SRM applicatin.

Packing Material

Hi All,
We want to maintain stock of packing material in the system with no connection to Cost Of Goods Sold.
I tried following in the test database.
Created a warehouse to hold stock.
Created an Item as inventory in the item master.
Allocated newly created warehouse to the item and set it as default.
There is already a G/L Account Packing Material Under Expenditure -
> Purchase Accounts.
This account gets into picture when we book a service invoice for Packing Material.
In order to maintain the stock
I punched a receipt when packing material comes in , at Zero value.
And I punched an issue when it is consumed , at zero value.
Is this the valid try ?
How do i check any other related things ?

You can always give the scenario a try and see the results. Modifications to best possible process can only be done when you have a scenario tested.
How do i check any other related things ?
1) Check for the related authorization for the Goods Reciept and Goods issue so that any mistake in terms of entering value is avoided.
2) Check for the effect, if any value is entered for the price/cost in Goods Receipt and Goods Issue.
3) Check all the Inventory related reports and also whether the values, amounts etc appear correctly.
You can check these things as well.

Try to change the credit information from your iphone or other ios device. Tap on settings > store > tap Apple ID > tap view account > tap payment information > change

Issue with transfering items from punch out

Hi All,
We are using a punch out for ordering shopping carts. It is working fine for all the users but not for one of the user. That user is able to open punch out site in her system and able to select the items in that punch out. But when she clicked on "checkout" button in that site, it is not transferring the items to the shopping cart. Rather it give internet explorer error" Page cannot be displayed". I believe, this is not a punch out or SRM issue. It should be an issue with the user's system settings.
But I am not sure where to check? Is it something that the cookies need to be enabled in user's system? Could you please help me with your suggestions?

Hi,
You could perform a HTTP trace (using HTTP watch) and compare the OCI data in POST method for both users (the correct and incorrect ones).
Perhaps there is some additional/missing information being passed from catalog to SRM.

Touch-Punch issue:

I'm having an issue with TouchPunch on the iPad where I have to tap the symbol once initially, then it's draggable.
But if I just press and drag without that first tap, the page just scrolls as if I had dragged the background.

Have you tried a battery pull restart yet ? If not then first step do it by removing the battery while your device is Powered On , wait for atleast a min. then reinsert it back after reboot please check if it works.
If it fails then can you confirm if you recently installed any application before this issue appeared , If it is then Uninstall that particular application , it might help :

Punch in/out latency issue!

I'm having a pause in my audio when I punch in and out of logic. The song is still rolling but the music stops for a second. I know this is a simple hardware setting. I can't remember if it's the buffer size. Anyway, is there a standard buffer size, etc...?

Note, however, that iTunes has never been supported on the 64-bit version of Windows XP, so you're on your own to attempt to get it working.

Punch-In/X-Fade Issue

I hope I can explain this problem clearly...
I have a guitar part that I recorded that had a glitch in my strumming. I did a quick punch-in recording over the glitch. Now I have the Punch-in Region sitting on top of the Original Region. The Punch-in Region is one bar long.
I can adjust the length of the Punch-in Region from the left and right to make a smoother transition out of and back into the Original Region, but I still need to put a little bit of cross-fade at the beginning and end of the Punch-in Region.
When I select the X-Fade tool and click to drag left to right from the Original Region into the Punch-in Region, the Punch-in Region disappears so that I can't accurately gauge where my X-Fade will land. Naturally it's not exactly where it needs to be, but it's close enough (for rock 'n roll, as they say). However, when I try to put an X-Fade at the end of the Punch-in Region going back into the Original Region, the original X-Fade I created at the beginning of the Punch-in Region disappears and the new X-Fade I'm trying to make doesn't even appear!
Alternatively, if I try this in an opposite fashion (dragging right to left from the beginning of the Punch-In Region back into the end of the first part of the Original Region), the X-Fade seems to work; but, when I try to X-Fade from the end of the Punch-In into the beginning of the second part of the Original Region, I only get a fade-out (not a X-Fade).
To make matters worse, in either of the above cases the second part of the Original Region (the part coming out of the Punch-in Region) now doesn't have any sound even though I can see the waveform! I'm totally baffled by this. Has anyone had any similar experiences or success punching-in and applying the X-Fades?

Thanks, David. I tried changing the editing mode to No Overlap (and also to X-Fade) with no luck changing the outcome. Also, over to the left above the channel strip, every time I try to change the Fade-Out parameter to something other than "Out" (i.e. "X" "EqP" or "X S") it keeps reverting back to "Out" automatically. Curious.
Would it be proper to deduce that when recording a punch-in, it's best to set the editing mode to No Overlap before recording?
In any case, I "solved" the problem by moving the punch-in region for a moment and slicing the original region in the area beneath it, then adjusted the two parts of the original region and placed the punch-in back in the slot between them. Fades worked fine then, but of course it was unnecessary extra work I suppose....

Vendor punch-out catalog issue

We are using SRM server 5.5 with CCM2.0 for classic scenario. We are facing problem while accessing vendor catalog. We have checked catalog call structure. It seems that it is fine with respect to other catalog configured earlier. The error is as follows:
XML page can not be displayed
Can not view XML input using style sheet. Please correct error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later
The system can not locate the object specified. Error processing resource
Please can anyone help me to get exact error and it's probable solution?

Office 2013, click icon nothing happens, no errors, no eventlog, MANY clients with this issue

We're an IT solutions provider for companies of all sizes as well, as residential users, and we've been plagued by a new Microsoft-caused issue that's seriously affecting our client's perception of us since it seems like 'you didn't fix it the first
time' or 'you sold us the computer', so it's our responsibility to fix for free.
We've experienced this with 17 people so far, ranging from residential clients with systems that have come from big box stores and from systems we've sold with Microsoft Office 2013 and basically the entire suite stops working.
If you click an icon, you may see an hour glass for a few seconds and nothing happens (but usually nothing happens at all, as though you didn't click it).
Diagnostic steps:
No errors in eventlog, neither under system or application.
No third party add-ins, sometimes it's a stock install on a new / fresh system.
Starting Microsoft Office applications in safe mode, like winword /safe, has no effect.
A quick repair or an online repair will not resolve the issue, it will say it's done but issue still exists.
Microsoft Office 2013 cannot be uninstalled, we always receive the same error code: 0-4
Some systems do not have third party antivirus, some are simply using Microsoft Security Essentials.
This affects all Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook.
Makes no difference if you use another user account or run-as admin.
All Microsoft Office 2013 updates have been installed.
The installation source is undetermined but recent issues stemmed from a physical media (.ISO) install from Microsoft's latest source.
You cannot start the software by clicking on documents created with Office applications.
The only way to remove Microsoft Office 2013 is with the removal tool "O15CTRRemove.diagcab".
The problem returns after a random period of days and no client can relay the actual cause of the issue, it seems random in nature. After the issue is experienced, we go through the same steps including the necessity to utilize the removal tool.
This seems to be a new issue that's come out of the blue within the past few weeks, at least on our end. When 17 random people call out of the blue with the same problem, it suggests it's Windows Update related.
I'm really hoping someone has some insight into this Microsoft glitch and knows of a secret hotfix or special trick to prevent it. I attempted to call Microsoft and it would be more enjoyable to punch a concrete wall since you're dealing with useless people
in a foreign country who can't really comprehend the seriousness or technicality of the issue, and don't really care, and aren't skilled enough to provide
insight.
Does anyone know about this problem?

I understand the flash you are receiving while launching Excel or Word is very fast. However just wanted to check if it is possible to get a screenshot of it.
Also, are you able to work fine on Excel or Word even after receiving the flash.
It seems the Office installation might have not been done properly.
There is a possibility, everytime you Uninstall any application, there are still some patches left behind which could cause an issue while Installing the same application again or even after Installation is successful, it sometimes gives
issue while launching the application.
If you want to give a try, you may try to Uninstall the product using Offscrub by clicking on the below link & then can have a fresh installation again.

Abhijeet, the box flash happens too fast for me to capture a screenshot of it but I believe it's similar to the smaller box activation process (enter your email).
Word and Excel work fine whenever this is observed.
I'm skeptical that this is a "not done properly" kind of scenario, especially when it applies to so many people and many have brand new computers. How can you take a Microsoft Office disc and install it improperly on a new PC? Or how can a person
go through Microsoft's https://officesetup.getmicrosoftkey.com/ setup, use the software for months and suddenly it stops working? If this is a 'not done properly' scenario, then this is a failing of Microsoft's
installation source. I can't reiterate this enough, the software works fine for people since installation date and then randomly stops working at a much later date (but many of them failed last month and this is a newer issue).
I'm starting to get frustrated again as I'd already stated we've used your linked removal tool in my first post and the problem has returned for another user by which I'd used it and reinstalled the product. The client who's PC we have now, one we'd sold
them, needs to be returned to them and while Microsoft Office is currently working, I was told that if this happens again, they're "going to throw the f#(*@ computer in the river". No joke.
If we're at the point where we've moved past evaluating logs, registry keys, or file versions or anything along the lines of a developer determining how this Microsoft bug occurs, then I'll return the system back to the client and hope for the best.
Three strikes and I'm out with this one but perhaps the delayed startup is the final solution... I just wish I knew for sure as we've had a bad year taking a beating for Microsoft's products and their support is the worst in the industry.
It's further frustrating that since I'd touched base with Microsoft via phone calls, the only person who's been able to provide any insight into the issue is me.

Does Verizon ever provide a different model phone if the customer has basically had the same issues with 3 prior 'replacemet' (refurbished) phones?

I have owned a Samsung Galaxy Stellar for the about the past year and a half, which is only my second smartphone. I am not a whiz at all this but I'll try to be coherent. I had problems with the Stellar from the beginning: Very slow loading browser, problems with the cursor, etc. After about 6 months, the phone dropped, and no, I didn't throw it on the ground!
I have insurance and it was still under warranty, so it was replaced, by Assurian, I believe. The replacement phone had the same problems, plus a whole lot more. During calls, the wifi, and/or Bluetooth options would appear, or the phone would suddenly go on mute. In addition, when I tried to access my voicemail, what I heard was my own voice and outgoing message, not the one from Verizon asking for the password. These problems were intermittent, which made the Verizon employees dubious, but it's like the car that you take to the garage that suddenly works fine. Anyway, there were some other problems too, so I got a replacement phone again, which is the phone I currently have had for about 3 months. A few days ago it went from bad to worse. In fact it went Crazy!: Every call I make or receive is immediately dropped. Maybe after 5 or 6 tries, I can complete a call, but rarely. When I do, the mute and speaker options spontaneously activate, at the same time!! When I go into my voicemail, the messages are deleted in rapid fashion, one after the other, and I cannot get them back. Or, as I said earlier, the Wifi/Bluetooth screens appear, and it's difficult to punch in any numbers as I have to hit the back arrow many times. Strangely, the phone makes odd sounds: It buzzes or makes this odd chiming sound! If I didn't know better, I would think that I have finally lost my mind! I could go on but you have the gist. The phone is simply not workable. I phoned tech support, and she was very nice. After an hour on the phone, it worked ok, until the following day. She didn't do a factory reset, but she had me take the sim card and battery out. She did things on her end, which unfortunately I don't recall, but the phone worked ok until the following day, when it went crazy again.
I took it to the corporate Verizon store where I live, The guy said "It's a lousy phone, a cheap, bottom of the line phone." By the way, throughout this time, I had had about 6 hours with tech support, between this phone and the last one.
THIS IS MY QUESTION: I asked him if I could have a totally different phone, since this model is clearly defective. He said no, but they could send me another replacement. He told me to call trech support while I was there in the store and ask them, because they don't do repairs at the store. The tech on the phone told me the issue is with my Gmail account! That there is a virus on some phones and each time I get a replacement phone, because I have kept the same Gmail account, the virus keeps getting 'transferred', for lack of a better word, to the next phone. I was totally incredulous. Virus? She said, "Well, I use the term loosely, but it's just a weird glitch.When you get a replacement phone, bring it back and we'll save and upload all your data, and set you up with a new email account." I was confused and annoyed, as I had never heard of this, and felt I was getting the runaround. I asked her if they could give me a different phone (free of charge) and of course the answer was no. By the way, I should mention that the Stellar is no longer made. These are my options, according to the 3 different Verizon employees I spoke with: I am eliblele for the early upgrade which they call the Edge. From what I understand, it's the full retail price paid out over 2 years, with a partial payment made at time of purchase. One person told me that after 24 months, they would accept what I paid as payment in full? Sounds too generous. Option 2 is $50 of a new phone, and option 3 is to buy a new phone at a Verizon store that is having an android sale. So, I acquiesced to getting another replacement which I will keep until I buy a new totally different phone. My impression is that it's not like buying a bad toaster. They don't refund your money and let you get whatever you want for the same price! My question is this: Does Verizon ever just replace a phone that has had problems, with a totally different model? I have made as much of a stink as I can muster towards that end, but I am wondering if anyone out there has actually been able to pull that off?

amysue, We defintely want you to have a reliable and working phone. Our apologies that you have had issues with the current model, the Galaxy Stellar. After reviewing information about the overall function of the phone, it does not appear that Samsung has recalled the device or stated that all Stellar devices are defective, with that being said, the warranty would still only cover the same make and model. The only time a completely different phone is sent out is if the manufacturer deems the entire make and model overall faulty. It is common to have a few glitches and a master/factory reset, in addition to all other troubleshooting, will help resolve these issues. The Stellar is no longer made because there have been several Samsung galalxy devices launched, and this is common with any device manufacturer. Our recommendation is to take advantage of EDGE, if you are seeking a new device with low monthly payments. This gives you the chance to explore different device options without having a contract and you can EDGE up to a new device once meeting certain requirements. We hope to resolve your concerns here or by calling customer support.

Sometimes fonts are not displayed properly, for instance, the text insertion point may show Arial, but the text is Courier. There is no clear pattern when this happens or what triggers the problem.

Paste some text code into the forum editor window. Select the code and choose Syntax Highlighting:Plain from the editor toolbar (>>). Close and re-edit the thread. It is not possible to place the insertion point below the block of code in order to add any additional lines of code or to add any normal text. For instance:

Re-edit a post with Syntax Highlighting. It is not possible to properly select any lines of code. An additional empty code line is added and the focus is shifted. The selection mask does not match the actual text. It is pretty much impossible to re-edit Syntax Highlighting.

Every subsequent edit of a post with Syntax Highlighting adds an empty blank line to the code block with an incremented line number. Create a new thread and type several lines of text. Then select select several lines of text and choose a font, e.g. Courier New. Not all selected lines are changed and only a couple of lines remain highlighted. For instance:

Select a line of text and change the font to Courier New. Then select the line again and it will show Arial. Change the font to Courier New and the text will change back to Arial.

Copy a URL and paste it into the editor window. The URL will be shown as a hyperlink using blue text. It is not possible to continue with normal writing without changing the text of the link. The text insertion point is captured inside the text of the link when trying to click below the link.
After pasting the URL, use the arrow key or mouse to move the cursor to the end of the link, then press RETURN and start writing normally. You can than move the cursor to the beginning of the line and use BACKSPACE to move the text up, after the link.

When replying to a thread and pressing the Quote Previous Message button and then clicking inside the quoted text, for instance, to remove some of the content, it is sometimes no longer possible to move the text insertion point outside of the quoted text back to the normal editing area.
When this happens it helps to switch to HTML and then switch back to the Full Editor.

While writing normal text in the editor, it sometimes becomes impossible to edit a line of text. Or, copy and paste the text, then mark the text with the mouse and select SH from the insert menu. Many times, the insertion point is not reflecting it's actual position when you click inside the text. Very often it is also not possible to position the insertion point to the end or beginning of a line using the left and right arrow keys; the insertion point jumps to the next line, even though the end of the line has not been reached.
For instance:

The original or initial post of a thread is shown with a grey background when browsing. Depending on the web browser application, this background is also copied when doing a copy and paste of the text, provided the target window supports rich text editing.

After resizing a pasted image to the same size than the original, the quality is much worse. The following shows a screenshot of the original and copied image:
When resizing a picture by moving the image end-points, the editor does no longer show the current picture dimensions (pixel x pixel) as it did in Jive 5. Also when copying a picture between documents, the picture is enlarged and requires resizing.

correction, I would certainly be in favour (favor to you ) of reenabling code tags, mainly because I work quicker by copy/paste and by keyboard than by having to click through a load of buttons (that currently don't do what they should). I've not said that syntax highlighting should be ditched altogether, and I'd certainly be in favour of it being there, just so long as it provided a decent formatting that was appropriate, so code actually looked like code, and the ability for people to copy/paste the code out of the forum to their own environment wasn't corrupted with double line spacing (as dude has already mentioned) and the addition of the line numbers it puts in (the line numbers are useful for reference on the forum, e.g. when we want to say "you're problem is on line X", but not good when you copy/paste code out to your environment and have to spend ages deleting them all to get the code to do anything). If it's too difficult, then removing the line numbers from the code formatting would be preferable to having them there and not being able to copy the code out without them.
I agree with dude that it would be good to be able to highlight portions of code with bold or colours, which the old forum didn't allow, but this one does, so it's really a combination of old and new that's needed. And as dude highlights, the supressing of blank lines is a pain as it can make the posting of multiple code commands become all compressed and difficult to read, and is not representative of what we have in our interfaces such as SQL*Plus etc.

Obviously that's a basic example; in reality we can be providing a solution to someone, explaining multiple steps and commands to demonstrate their issue and the solution, and having to go back through the code once we've pasted it adding back in all the line spacings, is a real pain and time consuming.
Certainly, having the advanced editor options available immediately for replying would be better than having to switch to it manually, especially as most people using these forums are going to want to paste code in (what with it being a technical forum and not really a social forum), and the basic editor just doesn't allow for any suitable code formatting (unless the person is mad enough to switch to HTML mode).

Compatability Issue: Need Help Disabling Additional Functions - URGENT!

I am experiencing a problem with running Pro Tools 8.0.4 LE on my HP Pavilion dv7, which is encountered as a DAE error -6006 when loading Pro Tools. Research indicates that this error relates somehow to the firewire connection, and I am able to use Pro Tools on this system with a different interface (one that only has two microphone inputs) that allows me to connect via USB.
Also, when I do run Pro Tools via USB it seems that I can't use the Quick Punch feature without a minimum 10 second (usually a lot longer) delayed response after pressing the playback or record button!
I have been emailing Pro Tools support back and forth daily for 10 days now, and in the most recent email, they have said:
"This might be an incompatibility issue. HP Pavilion dv7 laptop is not tested by our US headquarter testing team
and not officially supported.
As you have found by yourself, each PC manufacture pre- installs their own features (as TV tuner) and the program into
Windows OS , the motherboard and BIOS. They work differently to Pro Tools and sometimes conflict. That is why we cannot support those PCs we have not tested.
Please turn off all the additional function by HP from BIOS. Please ask HP support how to do."
Therefore, I am requesting assistance with disabling all unnecessary services and processes on my HP laptop. I am assuming that the TV tuner is not a necessary service, but I have no idea about most of the others, and obviously I don't want to disable something that is necessary.
If you could help me ASAP I would really appreciate it, as I need to get on with recording urgently! Thank you.

UPDATE:
I have also been advised by Pro Tools support that if I add a supported FireWire card with Texas Instrument FireWire chip onto my computer, it may solve the problem. When I asked them how to go about doing this, they responded:
