Purchase date of iPhone

Hey eveyone,
I got my iPhone 3gs in december, 2010, a gift from my brother from Newzealand.
Its been giving me a hard time from a few months.
My brother has lost the purchase slip of iPhone and the sefsolve.apple.com shows my iPhone warranty's expired.
I just want to know how can I find the purchase date of my iPhone?

iPhone warranty is not international. You need to return it to
New Zealand if you wish to use the warranty for repair. If you
use a local third party to attempt the repair, you will void what
remains of your warranty. Best thing to do is send the iPhone
back to your brother in New Zealand so he can get it serviced
or replaced for you.

  • How do i find out my iPhone's original purchase date?

I bought it used from eBay and don't know when the owner bought it. It has warranty util July 21 and i want to extend it, so i want to buy AppleCare. One AppleCare it says it will extend the warranty for two year since the original purchase date. So how do i find out if i can buy AppleCare for my iPhone or not and how long would it cover my iPhone for?

You don't need to know the original purchase date (though it will be one year prior to the date of warranty expiration). You have until July 21st, the day when the warranty expires, to purchase and register an AppleCare plan, presuming you can still find the original plan. Apple no longer sells that plan; they sell only AppleCare+ which has to be purchased at or within 30 days of the original purchase. But some dealers still have the retail AppleCare for iPhone package available.
If you can find and register the original AppleCare, it will be in effect until July 20th, 2013.
    Regards.

Thanks Peter.  I thought about that and had discounted the idea but since I am only 30 minutes away from my A store, I think I'll give it a try. I can be charming specially when I wear clean jeans and a nice top. :-)

  • HT4539 I want to download all the music I purchased through my iphone and computer from the first date i had iphone to date, and keep it in both my computer and iphone.

Need help, I want to download all the music I purchased through my iphone and computer from the first date i had iphone to date, and keep it in both my computer and iphone.

You cannot synch the other way, with the exception of songs purchased on iTunes.
What you need to do is move the iTunes library from the computer to which you've been synching your phone and put it on your new MacBook.

  • 4GB iPhone w/ Purchase Date of September 4th

    Hello,
I have a question. Should I call apple phone support about my iPhone after this price drop and they getting rid of my iPhone model?
I went to that warranty check to put in my serial number, it gave me my purchase date of september 4th, but no information other than that.

    crazy4iphone,
Your iPhone is still covered by the one year hardware warranty, still works with AT&T's network, and is still eligible for phone support. The model may be discontinued and available while supplies last, but it is not the end of life of your 4GB iPhone. AppleCare regular supports over the phone computer models that were discontinued previously for several years.
The sales policies for the Apple Store and Apple Store online are available at this link:

    Hope this helps,

  • HT1688 Is it possible for me to purchase AppleCare+ within a year of my iPhone 5 purchase date?

I bought my iPhone 5 under a year ago and forgot to purchase AppleCare. I'm wondering if it is too late to purchase AppleCare+ for my phone?

Maybe it's time to (re)familiarize yourself with the distinction between AppleCare+ (the topic of this thread) and standard AppleCare, followed be (re)reading the post you responded to.
Please note my first response in this conversation, in reply to the original poster:

It is too late to purchase AppleCare+. That must have been done within 30 days of purchase. You can still purchase AppleCare, however.
Also, please note that the reply you quoted me on was a reply to Peter Gillespie, to clarify to him that the AppleCare Protection Plan, not just AppleCare+, can be purchased for the iPhone.
Please let me know if this clarifies any confusion you may have had.

  • TS3212 I just purchased a new iphone 4s and I am trying to load some music from my itues. I am getting a message that says not enough space. I checked my phone and it shows i have 5.1G available. do you know how to fix this problem?

I just purchased a new iphone 4S and I'm trying to loan some music from itunes. I keep getting a message that says not enough space on my phone. I checked my phone and I have 5.1G available. I deselected all the songs on my itunes to try and get it to sync and I keep getting the same message. Any tips?

    Hey csumner1,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are receiving a "Not enough free space" alert when attempting to sync your new iPhone 4s. The following article may help to resolve your issue:
iOS: "Not enough free space" alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1503
    Resolution
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
    1. Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
    2. Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
    3. Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
    4. Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
              - If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
    5. Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
              - Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
              - Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
              - Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
              - Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
    6. Restore using iTunes.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • 8.1 won't sync Music purchases from my iPhone back to my iTunes Library

I have run into three issues since installing iTunes 8.1.
The first was the problem syncing Calendar data which many other folks have reported and which I resolved by setting iTunes to overwrite the Calendar on my iPhone at the next sync.
The second is that I have purchased songs from the iTunes Music Store app on my iPhone and iTunes 8.1 doesn't seem to discover these songs during the sync process and they don't get copied into the iTunes library on my Mac. I never had a problem with this before in iTunes 8.0. The only thing that's changed is installing v8.1. So I currently have no way of backing up any tracks purchased on my iPhone.
The third issue is that syncing with my iPhone is generally more sluggish then it was in iTunes 8.0 - it takes longer to sync and the progress information in iTunes on my Mac is out of step (the spinning progress wheel next to my iPhone in the Devices pane disappears about 30 seconds before the progress at the top says that the sync has finished - in iTunes 8.0 these things happened at the same time which was reassuring).
Not being able to sync items purchased on my iPhone is a serious issue for me.
Does anyone know if I can revert to iTunes 8.0 safely (i.e. were any changes made to the iTunes library xml files or any supporting files in 8.1) - I have a Time Machine backup of my User Account from before the upgrade to 8.1 and I have only purchased a few tracks on my iPhone (not on my Mac) since.

I'm having the exact same problem with iTunes 8.1.1. I purchased one song from the iTunes Music Store app on my iPhone, now it won't sync (transfer) to iTunes on my iMac. Guess I need to downgrade too.

  • How do I get iTunes songs off the iCloud back onto my computer, preferably without changing the purchase date to today's date?

Trying to download previously purchased iTunes songs that are firmly embedded in the iCloud. At one point these songs were all on my computer. Then I idiotically joined iCloud. All the songs were sucked off and into iCloud. iCloud couldn't provide more than twenty seconds of any song without freezing whatever device, Macbook Pro, iPhone 4s, ipods, or breaking up the playback into fits and starts and finally silence, ever, no matter if the connection was cable or wireless.
I have ever update on every device, I have the max. RAM, excess disk/flash space. The problem is the difficulty of downloading. Oddly the download to my ancient PC went almost without a hitch, it is with Apple devices that the trouble lies.
About 2/3 of the songs have successfully downloaded to my computer. However the purchase date, which I used frequently as a search/sort function, have on many of the songs been switched to today's date, or the date of the latest download instead of my original purchase date.
Many songs downloaded, many remain in the cloud with the 'cloud' icon beside them.
Clicking on the "download all" icon doesn't download them all.
They begin to download and then stop/freeze.
I'm reduced to manually scrolling to each song and clicking on the 'cloud' to download, this works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. The whole thing usually crashes after a while.
This is where I am now, at the iTunes store on the "Purchased" page with all my songs in a list with "downloaded" or a "cloud icon" in the far right column, frozen once again.
I really would like to maintain the original purchased date(the day when I purchased the song from iTunes) but I'm to the point where I'd just be happy to get them downloaded onto the Macbook Pro, and hopefully never deal with the cloud again for the rest of my life.
Lastly, if anyone can recommend an alternative music site to iTunes it would be welcome.
    Thank you.

I copied the iTunes file from the external drive and it's in both places.  I thought all I would need is the iTunes program (which I downloaded to new computer) and my iTunes library file.  There must be something else that's missing.  My iTunes library looks the same on the new computer as it does when I open it on the external drive.  If I click on an iTunes library song from my new computer, it will only play if I have the external drive plugged in.
My back-up drive is a mess.  I have multiple copies of music, video, photo, and document files and I don't know how that happened. ={  Obviously, I don't know how to back up stuff properly and there are back-up files extending over a 6- to 8-year period.  I think all I did was just drag and drop the main folders from the back-up drive to the same main folders on the C: drive.  Also (and I'm kind of fuzzy on this) Windows used to automatically save music files in a folder within my document files (which makes no sense to me).  As my Jewish friends would say, "Oy Vey!"

  • Question re: syncing with Itunes in preparation for transfer of data to iphone 6

Hi,  I have an iPhone 4s that I have never synced to iTunes.  I've never synced it because it is my understanding that all the music on my  PC in iTunes would be copied to my iPhone. I have  a huge iTunes library that is much bigger than the space I have on my iPhone.
    My questions are:
    1.  Am I right in assuming that everything in my PC iTunes goes to my iPhone when I sync?
    2.  Is there any way to sync without copying everything to my iPhone?
And here are a few more questions:
    1.  It is recommended to update to IOS8 prior to transferring data to iPhone 6?
    2.   I have heard that using iCloud to transfer data to new iPhone does NOT transfer apps or passwords.  Is that true??
    Any help much appreciated!

Have you had Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes - this was selected the last time you synced your iPhone with iTunes a couple of months ago?
I have Sync Apps and Automatically sync new apps checked. Both have been checked every time I sync'd since I got my phone.
It deleted apps that I know were already in my iTunes, since they were apps I have had practically since the day I purchased my iPhone.
The apps in your iTunes library on your computer don't need to be downloaded again.
When I sync'd it deleted all the apps in my iTunes library as well. They were there previously, but now they are not.
You can view your iTunes account with iTunes - Store > View My Account. Check Purchase History.
You can re-download an app with iTunes on your computer and you won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app.
Ok, so this tells me what I have purchased, but it doesn't seem to allow me to do this. I checked my iTunes account and have confirmed that I have purchased a specific app, and using that same iTunes account I tried to download the app but it tells me that my credit card will be charged if I wish to continue. Will it actually be charged? And, yes, I'm positive that it is the same iTunes account. I am only signed into one and did this all from the same computer and same iTunes.

lost all of my data on iphone and have no cloud back up how can i get my data back

iOS devices do backup automatically to iCloud providing:
    iCloud Backup is turned on
    It has a Wi-Fi connection
It is connected to a power source
    The screen is off
5GB is plenty of storage for me to backup to iCloud automatically.
I have a 64GB iPhone & a 128GB iPad both backing up to the same iCloud account and I still have nearly 2GB free.
This is mainly because media is not backed up and Photo Stream & iTunes purchases do not count against your iCloud storage.
