Purchase ebook in Blurb for LR4 book?

According to Blurb's documentation, there is a radio button to select "ebook" when you place an order.  I do not see that for the book I generated from Lightroom 4.  Is that option n/a for LR books, or am I missing something?  I know I can create a PDF in Lightroom, which is fine for me, but not so useful for people I want to share the book with who have iPads, and are in other locations.

I think we have to remember this is Beta software and there is a difference between PDF and pdfX
Of course it’s possible to extract PDF pages as sRGB images which can be uploaded to Blurb, and made iOS compatible.

  • Has anyone purchased the Apple TV for Dummies book?

I saw this book yesterday at Border's and was half-tempted to purchase it since Apple does not offer a quality Apple TV user guide. But at $21.95 I thought I would ask here first to see if anyone has purchased the book...and to offer there opinion as to whether or not they think it is worth the money. Input anyone?
    Thanks.

The reason I say the Apple instructions are poor are seen in this example. Take a look at #4 & 5 here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305139#syncing . My Apple tabs do not look like that at all. They did in the 1.0 version but since downloading the new version the only tabs that appear are Summary and Photos. Despite what this link reads, I can no longer synch anything to Apple.
my tabs looks exactly like that.
the reason you only have 2 tabs is that you have set up itunes as a secondary library (you only get 2 tabs).... as a primary library you get all the tabs and the syncing functions. secondary libraries only provide streaming access.

  • Problem using ebook text for LR4

I have been using the ebook text Classroom in a Book for Lightroom 4.  I am working on two screens:  Classroom in a Book is on the secondary screen; LR4 is on the main screen.  I have gone through 4 of the lessons.  At some point during Lesson 4 I must have done something and I can't figure out how to undo it.  What happens is that Classroom in a Book disappears from the secondary screen when I move the curser from the secondary screen to the main screen where I work on LR4 exercises.  What appears on the secondary screen is either a LR4 photo or a blank LR4 screen that says "No Photo Selected".  I can get back to Classroom in a book if I move the curser to the left margin and click.  But then I have to do this every time I move the curser from the secondary screen to the main screen.  How do I undo this so that Classroom in a Book remains on the secondary screen as I go from one screen to the other screen.  How do I undo this?  Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not at all familiar with classroom or book, but since no else has responded I'll throw this out there.
Try going to Window -> Secondary Display and trying switching some of the options in there. Hope that helps

You need to upgrade OS X.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
        OS X Mavericks/Yosemite- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Yosemite
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

Do you see a file named Office Installer.mpkg.  If so, double click it and and follow the prompts.

    Hi Peggs,
    Try this:
Open your iBooks app on your iPad
Select the Store Button at the top
    Select Purchased at the bottom
You will see your AppleID on the right at the bottom, then Redeem, then Support
Click on your Apple ID, and when the AppleID window comes up with the options, Sign Out
Then Sign In again and try redownloading your book
    Hope this helps!

Purchased content MAY be available for redownload - Music for sure.  I think books are NOT available for redownload (not sure).
Best practice is to keep the content on a desktop computer to be able to resync when necessary (or use a cloud service like Drop Box).

ibooks bought from Apple can currently only be read in the iBooks app on an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch, they can't be read on ebook readers nor on a Mac or PC (the book's requirements should be listed on the left-hand side of its description page in the store).
If you don't have an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch then you try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1933), but all sales are normally considered final, so you might not be able to get a refund or credit

  • Digital Edition will not open purchased ebook

Purchased ebook in Adobe format and downloaded to computer. Both computer and pocket pc are activated in Adobe DRM website. The book will open in Adobe Digital Editions to be read on the computer itself. But when I click on the ebook to open in Adobe Reader 7 I get a pop up window that says I can't open it because ownership hasn't been established on this computer. It then gives me the option of getting the permission and redirects me to the Adobe DRM site where I get this message:
You have tried to open an Digital Edition that was downloaded to another computer. You can open such a document on two computers only when you have activated Adobe Reader or Acrobat on both computers using the same Microsoft .NET Passport or Adobe ID.
Then it says the solution is to contact the site I purchased the ebook from and get the permission. Supposedly I get the permission when they take my money and make the book available for download. Has anyone else had this problem and know a solution? I really want to read this book on my phone. Its the whole reason I bought the phone!

  • STILL "No valid licence for this book" message. Help please.

I bought my first ebook in December from Waterstones for my Elonex ereader and this was ok. The next two books purchased from Waterstones came up with the message, "No valid lisence for this book." After trying to solve the problem of not being able to open/read them I ended up with, "Too many activations." I managed to get my activations re-set, yet am still unable to open/read the books because  I am getting the same message, "No valid lisence for this book." I have sent the case to Adobe, but as I waited and waited for the activations to be re-set I could be in for another long wait! Can anyone help please.

I am having the same problem with my elonex 511tEB. Did you manage to get yours sorted out and can you please tell me how  to do it.
I would be very grateful if you could help me as i am puzzled with it all.

  • How can I use an iTunes credit (from a gift  card which has been entered) for a book burchase?

Can I get a refund for a book I purchased in iBooks? I did not like it, it was stupid and want my money back.

Try using the Report a Problem link in your receipt.   I doubt just calling it "stupid" will impress anyone.  Best provide details on why it was not as advertised, etc.

I think you can get Windows 7 for around $99. Install the 64bit version as the 32bit version will not be able to use all your new computer's ram if you have more than about 3.5gb.
Back up your quick books data now before the old hard drive dies. You can copy your data over to your new installation of Windows and quick books.
By the way, there is quick books for Mac http://quickbooks.intuit.com/mac/?sc=BNR-000-COR-quickbooks&priorityCode=4902000 000&cid=ppc_google_QB-Intuit-Core-Brand-Mac_quick-books-for-mac_exact&site=&ad_i d=9347918288&raw_keyword=quick%20books%20for%20mac
So you may not need to install Windows at all.
