Purchase item icon gone

There Use to be a Purchase item icon in my itunes now its gone
instead its called Purchased on ..... and theres nothing in the directory. I had a lot of purchases over the years and I don't know what happen. The only thing I can think of was the same folder was on my iphone and i deleted it, but I don't see how this would have effected it.
Any help would be appreciated

When i am backing up my son's iphone 4 itunes warns that there are purchased items. I used to able to go to file and transfer purchesd items from phone to itunes then sync. His phone needs replacement so I am backing it up and will restore to a 4s iphone. Does he just need to redownload them from icloud after I activate new phone? I was hoping for the old file>transfer purchaes option. Thanks for your advice

Iv'e synced my iphone a ton of times before and the purchased items have gone straight on without any hassle.
I recently bought an audio book and dragged it into my playlist which my iphone syncs to and pressed sync. When it didn't sync, I pressed Store and pressed Authorize this computer..
After this, I tried syncing again but the audiobook still wouldn't go on
What do I do?

When I login, all of my desktop items are gone, the "Finder" icon is bouncing and a message asking to restore windows is blinking but unresponsive. I can't exit out of it. What do I do? I've tried force quitting, and it doesn't get rid of it.

Additional Information
OS X automatically relaunches the Finder when it is quit. If the Finder is unresponsive, use Force Quit to relaunch it. Select Finder in the Force Quit Window or Dock, then click Relaunch.

I have gone into purchased but next to each title it merely says 'downloaded'. I need to download them again. It will cost a fortune to re-purchase the corrupted music!

I tried that but it just shows 'downloaded'. There is no little cloud next to that wording. On an Itunes help page it shows a 'library icon' once you have logged in but that does not appear on my version of ITunes which is 11.1. I have lost so many peices of music! Is this some ploy by Apple to get you to buy them all over again?? Thanks for you response, if you can think of anything else I would be most grateful

Can no longer see purchased item on ios 8.1

songs, movies, tv nothing
my iphone that I have not updated is still 7.1.2 and it works just fine
my older ipad2 still on 7.1.2 also works just fine
also these 2 devices can use my home share just fine
newer ipad air just updated to 8.1 no longer shows me purchased items, nor does home share show up on this freshly updated iPad air.
I updated to the latest version of iTunes 12 on my mini
I guess I should have not updated to 8.1?

It sounds like you would like to re install the version of Garargeband that you had installed before your restore. You should be able to download it from the App Store in your Purchased history which you get to through Updates:
Tap App Store.
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Tap Updates.
Tap Purchased on the resulting screen.
Locate the app in your Purchased tab.
Tap the download icon.

My mac pro says "It can't be synced because this computer is no longer authorised for purchased items that are on this iPad.

But when I de-authorise and then re-authorise it says it's already authorised and then the same window pops up saying "It can't be synced because this computer is no longer authorised for purchased items that are on this iPad.
Battled all day.
Removed the SC folder,
Checked iTunes log in is correct.
Checked Itunes is the same country.
Restarted both devices.
Tried different usb ports
Any ideas?

I found the solution to this problem
the apple service helped me actually
the best and the esiest way is to solve this problem :
create a new account (as an administator recomended)
Bonjour servises must be enabled ( go to control panel > administartive tools> sevices> Bounjour services (change the category to large icons if you dont see administartive tools )
install itunes
sign in
authorize
SYNC
it must sync normally
but if the meesage pops up that points on a particular items that could not be synced ( to ur itunes because you are not authorized for this items ) REMOVE THEM
creating a new user account shows the items wich dont let you sync your iPhone
after you REMOVE those **** items that were not authorised , you can go to your old user account and SYNC it as old kind time
was having this problem 2 weeks , and nothing helped except this was. not deleting the SC Info folder, now copying apple folder to some other mobile divce folder
REMEMBER the problem is in your iPhone , it is about the items that are in your iPhone

ITune Store can't show purchased item after iOS 7.1.1 Update

After my iPad Air got restored to factory iOS 7.1 from the Apple Store, I restored my content which is 25GB of books pdf apps and videos. Then got the news that iOS 7.1.1 is out and fixed some issues, I thought maybe fixed the Videos App problem, so I updated my iOS to 7.1.1 over wifi no with problem. Then I tried to check the purchased item in iTune Store but came out blank. From the heading "Purchased" and below up to the lower visible icon, it is blank. Tried reboot, power off, sign out in, close all app, etc. The only thing left is the famous factory restore, which i'm not ready to do. The Apps Store is fine, i can see my purchased apps.

I went to Apple Store and hooked up to their WiFi, now I see my purchased item in the iTune Store.

I appreciate the answer, but what you describe is not entirely accurate. First, to even see view, you have to enable the menu by clicking on the icon in the upper left. View allows you to show the sidebar.
Second, you will NOT see your devise listed in sidebar or anywhere else. Instead, you have to click on "devise" from the sidebar menu, wait a minute, and then it will finally show up under "devise." Or maybe it just takes a minute to show up whatever you do.
Third, right clicking on your devise will take you to a menu with "transfer my files" on it, but then iTunes will refuse to make the transfer. Instead, it will tell you that <your apps> on your <devise> could not be transferred to iTunes "because you are not authorized for it on your computer." Apple unhelpfully suggests going to store> authorize this computer. There is a "store" menu item on the sidebar, but it has no "authorize this computer" sub-menu. Instead, go to the horizontal menu at the upper left, and THERE you will find "store" and the "authorize this computer" sub-menu. Now you can transfer your files, to who knows where.
My iPhone 5 is my first Apple devise. So far my experience has been, to do A, which must be done right now, you must first do B. To do B you must first do C, which is unexplained save in answers in user forums. To do C you must first do D, which, after several hours of research and puzzle solving, can eventually be done.

Can I transfer my purchased items to a new apple device

My 3rd Generation Ipod Touch stopped working recently and it looks like it can't be repaired and is no longer any use, I am wondering if it is possible to recover my downloaded / purchased items onto an new Ipod Touch?
I plugged it into charge in a mains wall charger and was actually using it as well, next there was a pop from the charger and the Ipod went off. I contacted a repair clinic and they suggested it may just be the battery might have gone pop, so I left it to them the investigate. They were unable to do anything with it.

The iTunes backup does not included synced media like apps and music. If iTunes purchases are not in your iTunes library you can redownload them by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Since iTunes can't see your old iPod you can't get anything off the iPod.
