Purchase ML for my iMac, can I download it again for my MBP ?
As the title suggests I have purchased MLO for mr iMac. Is it ok to download again on a recently purchased second hand MBP or do I need to purchase it again ?
A lot depends on how she wants to use it...Snow Leopard is a rock-solid operating system. The big advantage to going to Mountain Lion is access to iCloud and the iOS-like features that were addded, iMessaging is the big one for some people.
If she is not interested in those additions, SL is a good system.
Personally, I really like ML...have it on my MBP and iMac, and have Lion on the MBP. Rarely use the Lion installation now as ML is so much faster. But note that other users appear on here saying ML is much slower. For some of us it is faster, for some slower...I realize that is not a definitive answer for you
If you like ML and see advantages for your daughter, you have already purchased and can freely download another copy.

Correct. To do it, your Mac must be running Mountain Lion and Pages '09 with the most recent version. To check the OS X version you have, open > About this Mac, and check the version. If it's 10.8, you are running Mountain Lion. Then, you just have to open System Preferences > iCloud, and tick "Documents and Data".
If you aren't running Mountain Lion, you can still share documents between the iPad and the Mac, you can access to the documents created in the iPad in http://www.icloud.com, logging in with your Apple ID, and selecting iWork. Also, you can upload documents from the computer -

Well, it hasn't worked that way for me.
I bought Lion for $29 from the App Store this morning, and DLed/installed it on my MacBook Pro with no problem. This afternoon I went to upgrade my Snow Leopard Server Mac Mini. Went to the App Store, clicked the Lion Server at $49.99, and was prompted that "because this is an OS X server, you must purchase a OS X Lion as well as OS X Lion Server, for $79.98" [Cancel] [Purchase Both]
If I try to install just Lion from my "Purchased" list in App Store, I get exactly the same message. If I try to install Lion from an install DVD, I get a "checking with App Store" and then the same message.
Spent over an hour on the phone with Enterprise Sales, who agreed that's not what was supposed to happen, but had no resolution. It isn't critical to me timewise so they are mulling the situation over.
My recommendation if you have SLS and clients to upgrade is to do the Lion/Lion Server purchase *first* for the server. Hopefully then the Lion license will be available for your other machines. I can't guarantee it, but I can guarantee that the other way *doesn't* work.

Thanks Niel. But it's still showing as $20.99. The MacBook Air is running Mavericks, the iMac is running 10.8.5 but this shouldn't make any difference really?

Hi :) recently paid and downloaded mac os lion ( 16 june 2012 ) i just need to know is there a way to get mac os mountain lion for free because of my recent mac os lion download.
Unless you bought Lion with an explicit offer from Apple telling you that you can get ML for free, you will not be able to download and install ML for free.
You will have to purchase Mountain Lion for 20 dollars (US price) in the Mac App Store. -

okay so all i want to know is if i can download my purchased itunes songs again but for free? I recently wet my iphone and had to get a new one. Problem is i didnt get to sync my songs to my computer on time. SO now i want to download all those songs but im afraid they will charge me again. CAn anybody tell me if thats possible? You know to download songs you have previously purchased.

The Apple folks said I could download any apps I had purchased previously but were lost when my hard drive died. Now have the new hard drive, but don't know how to obtain Pages free from the App Store.

If you purchased Pages in the Mac App Store, open the App Store, log in with your Apple ID, go to Purchases and download that application. If you don't see it, check that it is hidden, and if so, unhide the application > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4928
If you purchased Pages on a DVD, insert it and install iWork. Then, open > Software Update, and install the latest version -

I understand that you downloaded iMovie on your iPad for free when you purchased your iPad, but now you cannot download it again for free. It sounds to me like your iPad may be currently using a different Apple ID that initially downloaded iMovie. As the attached article suggests, I would first make sure you are using the same Apple ID to download past purchases. The term purchases also refers to free applications that were downloaded using your Apple ID.
