Purchase put on wrong MyBestBuy account

Hello,
I have two accounts currently due to an attempt to create a new log-in for bestbuy.com when my previous one stopped working. Recently a rather large purchase was accidentally put on the wrong account, not only am I missing out on my Elite Plus bonus points but it is going into an account I don't use and as such won't really benefit from the over 200 points I'm missing out on. Is there any way to transfer this purchase to the correct MyBestBuy account that won't involve returning the item and then re-checking out?
I can give more details related to specifcs in a PM. I would rather not do an account merge as that triggers all points to cash out into certificates and then that becomes a whole other mess. I'd actually like to just transfer this purchase and then delete the wrong account completely if that is at all possible.

We are unable to transfer a purchase from one account to another; however, we could possibly look into merging your two accounts together.  Any points/certificates in the non-primary account should transfer over to the primary account during the merge.  As long as the primary information being shared by the two accounts matches, I do not think we should have a problem merging them.
With that being said, I am going to send you a private message so that I can go over your accounts with you and discuss a potential merge.  To check your private messages, you would want to login to the forum and click on the yellow envelope icon located at the top of the page.

    - You can only sync an iPod to one iTunes library/computer. You can however, manually manage music and videos among different libraries.
    Go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.
    - If y wnat to switch syncing libraries/computer see:
    go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.

    If all the synced media like music is in the iTunes library of the second computer it is very easy.

    Specifically:
    Turn off iCloud completely
    Depending on whether you want to stop using iCloud on all or only some devices, do one or more of the following:
    On your iOS device’s Home screen, go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Delete Account
    Once you've performed this step go back to Settings and add the correct iCloud account.

  • I purchased a book through iBooks and it turns out it wasn't the audiobook, which is what I needed. Is there anyway I can get the $12 or so about put back into my account since I am having to also buy an audiobook?

    I was suppose to buy an audiobook but ended up buying the book which I thought was the audiobook. Since I'm having to purchase 2 books(and I only need the audiobook) can I get a refund on the book? How exactly does that work? Or does that work at all?

    Try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that book, click the arrow to the left of it, click the 'Report a Problem' button :
    and then the 'Report a Problem' link on its line :
    and select 'inadvertently purchased' as the problem and fill in the details (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).

    First, you're not communicating with Apple when you post in these forums. The only people who will respond are fellow users and there's nothing we can do directly with this problem.
    But I can tell you that if you redeemed the card through the wrong iTunes Store ID, then sorry, but there's no way to transfer credit from one account to another. You'll have to use the iTunes Store ID under which you redeemed the card to make your purchases. You would not have been able to redeem the card through another account unless you had the password to that account, though, so you may not have actually successfully redeemed the card. Have you tried to redeem it through your "real" iTunes Store account?

    My dad gave his name instead of mine at the register years ago when asked to create a mybestbuy account. I would like to change it to my name. I don't see where I can do this on my account page.

    Welcome to the Best Buy forum.
    Since the name tied to a member's My Best Buy account cannot be changed, you are not going to find that option on BestBuy.com.  You are going to want to create a new account if the account in-question was put in your dad's name, as a My Best Buy account is intended to be used by a single member.  Please also keep in mind that a member is not to share their account, benefits, points, or certificates with anyone else.
    I am going to send you a private message so that I can gather some additional information from you and to see about potentially creating a new My Best Buy account in your name.  You can check your private messages by logging into the forum and clicking on the yellow envelope located at the top of the page.  If any of your purchases were attached to your dad's account, then we can also see about transferring them to your new account.

    Please see the bold.  If you're out of icloud storage, then you won't be able to backup to icloud unless you purchase more storage, but yet you said you backup to icloud.
    If you really did backup to icloud no data would be loss - sounds to me that it didn't backup since you had no more free icloud storage space.

    We are fellow users here on these public forums - I've asked the hosts to remove your email addresses from your post (it's not a good idea to post them unless you like spam email).
    If you know the answers to your security questions then the steps half-way down the page that you posted from will let you change it :
    Navigate to appleid.apple.com using your web browser.
    Click "Manage your account"
    When prompted, sign in using your Apple ID and password.
    Click Password & Security
    You'll be asked to answer 2 of your 3 security questions before you can make any modifications. If you are unable to remember your answers, you can choose to send an email to your rescue email to reset your security questions.
    After you've validated your identity by correctly answering your security questions, click Edit to the right of your rescue email address.
    Once you've finished editing your rescue email address, click the Save button directly below the email field.
    If you can't remember your answers then you will first need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset before you can change the address for potential future use.

  • Mac App Store update: right Apple ID but wrong user account

    My Mac App Store updates get associated to the wrong user account but the correct Apple ID.
    I live in Germany and have an iMac and a MacBook Pro, both purchased under Snow Leopard and now running Lion 10.7.2. Just after upgrading to Lion I "purchased" a free App (BibleReader 5.0.0). This morning I logged into my wife's user account on the MacBook Pro, and the App Store icon flagged an update. I switched to my user account and was surprised to see that the update wasn't flagged there. By listing my purchases I did suceed in finding an "update" button for BibleReader, but pressing it resulted in a (German) error message whch translates as "An update is available for another account. Please log in with the account you used to purchase the App". But that is what I had just done.
    Intrigued I went back to my wife's user account. By logging onto the Mac App Store with my Apple ID from my wife's user account I did manage to update the app. Later at work I got the same error message on the iMac. But this time the only other user account on the machine belongs to Computing Services: I don't have their password and I ought not to use admin rights to gain access to their account. So I can't perform the upgrade on the iMac.
    All family iTunes / App Store purchases are via my main Apple ID. My wife's user account on the MacBook Pro only exists so that I can manually synchronise our iCloud address books (she has an iPad).
    Any ideas?

    All the applications you purchase on the App Store are registered to your Apple ID, so you have to use your Apple ID to update them, or you have to purchase those applications again using the Apple ID they are using on that computer, so they will be able to update them

    As rex already mentioned, Apps and other content are forever tied to the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. No transfers. No combining Apple IDs. Forever means forever.
    In practice, this means any apps you currently have - free or paid - will need to be either repurchased using your new Apple ID or downloaded again if free. Until you refresh all of your apps, your iPad will ask for credentials to the old Apple ID any time one of the apps is updated.
    Why did you feel it was necessary to create a new Apple ID?
