I am unsure which program I should purchase. I'm an amateur and just want to enhance my personal pictures. Suggestions?

Are these shown in the App Store's Updates page? If not, then you don't need them. You could download the full Mavericks installer application if you want to create a bootable USB flash drive installer or just to keep handy should you need it (store it in your Downloads folder.)

Family Sharing and Individual Purchases (Suggestions)

I have recently updated to iOS 8, as i am sure many others or perhaps millions have done as well. Me and my other half tried the family share option and it works for the most part very well, BUT... We seriously think it is lacking a few options for granularity.
regardless of who the organizer is the option of who'c Billing information to use for purchases should be selectable and not just limited to the organizer Below are some of our suggestions for Apple....
Suggestions
For instance if my wife and I are on the Family Share we should have the following options:
1) A way for identifying a family share member as parent or child (Child being no older than 21) this will help establish groups
2) Family members should be presented with an option to use their own payment method associated with their individual iTunes Account (as default method).
     a) If wife is Organizer i shouldn't be forced to have my purchases paid for from her account when i have my own payment info for my own iTunes account.
     b) Any child on the family share who have their own banking information on file for their account should be presented with a choice to use their own payment
          information or request authorization from parents to have them (the parent approving the purchase) pay for purchase. Depending on which parent approves
          the request would determine which parent would be responsible for his/her child's iTunes purchase.
     c) If Child has no method of payment on their iTunes account then any purchase request would automatically be routed to the parents to request purchase
           authorization
By having a msg such as "Request for purchase authorization sent to parent/guardian" (or something along those lines) it would still allow the parents to be anonymous as to who authorized the purchase for the child. Family members of Divorced Parents (further suggestions)
For Children of divorced parents this would also allow the flexibility, from their point of view, to still have mom or dad play a role in the purchasing decision.
     d) Children 21 and younger should also have the ability to be part of, no more than, 2 family share plans while parents can only be assigned to 1 family share plan Example of the two different groups a child may belong to..
          a) Plan 1 - (Home A) Father / Step Mother (assuming both parents have remarried)
          b) Plan 2 - (Home B) Mother / Step Father (assuming both parents have remarried)
When child is at "Home A" family from Home B can still authorize his purchase in the event the Parents from Home A do not approve it.
Last but not least - Approval request sent from children to parents have a expiration time of 15 minutes meaning if the request is not acknowledge / approved after 15 minutes a message could be sent to requestor indicating "...request has timed out due to no response..."
Conclusion
These are some suggestions that we feel will make Family Share Plan more usefully to parents of children and to accommodate one of many different family situations.

Family Sharing works best when there is an adult (the "organizer") who is paying for the purchases of one or more kids.
What you are describing might work if you always make sure to have a credit balance on your account. However, the situation would work more smoothly if you each buy your own stuff and use Home Sharing rather than Family Sharing.

Purchase suggestions of new Battery for thinkpad X41

I could see that my battery condition is fair and can hold 40% of charge an dhave been use for almost 33 months. Now, I am planning to purchase a new battery and I could see one at ebay (new with 6months warranty) for onle 50$ where as at lenovo web site it is 169$ (new and i year warranty) and taxes extra. If I go for the ebay one, Will there be any probelm wiht the system? Or it is same as that of lenovo original? Only the draing time will be faster for the cheap one, I think!
Please suggest where to buy and te best deals

New purchase suggestions from my playlists(s)

Can't quite get Genius to do what I need so thought I'd post the question:
I'd like to take an existing playlist or two and have iTunes develop a list of suggested purchases of similar music. Preferably just drop those suggestions right into my shopping cart so I can go through them and pick the ones good enough for purchase.

Sorry, but iTunes doesn't do that. iTunes will make Genius Recommendations but it's based on your entire library or on a single song. I know of no way to just base the recommendation on a specific playlist, though you can restrict recommendations to a specific genre.
There's also no way I know of to buy multiple items from the Genius Recommendations at once (the Shopping Cart feature no longer exists as such, BTW). You have to select them individually.

Need helpful purchase suggestions!

Swamped with work, from home and need to get wife on her own bookkeeping computer. (I apologize I have no time to research on my own)
1 - I have a G5 (with no airport card, I'll have to get one)
2 - I want her to have a Mini
3 - Want the wireless connection (Airport)
4 - She will grab Quickbooks files over the network (from mine) - and she and kids will surf and play games (little stuff - not graphics intensive, oldest is 9)
I don't understand what I need in an Airport base station.
She will need to print to my printer. And I would like the iTunes option to patch into a home stereo.
Do I have to have both base stations?
I think that is the only question. Please make suggestions or ask questions.

Camcorder Purchasing Suggestions

Looking to buy a camcorder for home movie-type shooting, and I'm looking to find something that will work with iMovie more or less out of the box without workarounds and jumping through a lot of hoops. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't have a way to burn to Blu-Ray at this point, so SD would be a viable option, although I'm not averse to future-proofing with HD as I'm sure I'll be adding a BR burner at some point down the road...

App Store Auto Purchase - Suggestion to Apple

Why doesn't the App Store work like the rest of rest f the iTunes Store. All items are Purchase and not Add to Cart. Luckily I didn't buy anything I didn't really want before I realized. But really it should work the rest of the store and utilize the cart for those who like that option. Its very un-apple-like as it stands

To view your purchase history click Store > View My Account
(If you don't see this click Store > Sign In and then go back to View My Account)

Genius suggestions sidebar is gone in iTunes 11

Am I missing something or is the Genius suggestions sidebar gone in iTunes 11?
I hope I'm just missing something because this is something that I used all the time when looking for new music.

I think there's a little confusion here...I am (and i think TzTerri + others are) looking for is the genius purchase suggestions sidebar, not the genius playlist functionality.
I also (used to) use the genius suggestions sidebar a lot, i found most of my new music that way. If it's gone, i'm going to be very disaappointed. The cleaner interface is fine, no issues with it other than this - any chance we can have the genius sidebar back as an option please Apple?

Mountain Lion Not Showing in Purchases (Need to Unhide)

I just stumbled across this and thought it might help other folks with multiple Mac's wanting to download Mountain Lion onto all.
If you successfully downloaded M.L. onto one of your Mac's, but are no longer seeing it available in "Purchases" you may need to do the following.
1. Launch App Store.
2. Click on "Store" then "View my Account (Your Apple ID).
3. Sign in to your account.
4. Click on "Unhide Hidden Purchases" (this might be "Updates"...I can't remember).
Mountain Lion will once again show up in the "Purchases" list on any Mac where the Apple ID used to purchase M.L. has been entered into the "Store" account in the App Store.
I tried the "Option/Purchases" suggestion I found elsewhere to no avail and then gave this a shot and it worked. Hope this spares others some stress.

Where do I go find my iTunes money account info? I had an ITunes unauthorized purchase.

Suggest you change your password for the iTune and App Store. Remove your Credit Card details from your iTune account.

Hi. I'm new to this so pls bear with me. I'm trying to get an email to customer support but cannot locate the address. I paid for Quccktime Pro via credit card and they said it needed to be checked manually. Since then I've heard nothing and want to check on the payment progress. Any ideas?

How to consider substitute component under two-phase plan(MPS vs MRP).

We try to run two-phase plan: Production plan and Manufacture Plan in ASCP.
We hope our planner can review production plan result and modify system suggestion date or qty for assemble component plan order.
Then we run Manufacture plan setting demand source is from production plan and "use substitute component" is checked in decision rule, we hope this Manufacture plan can consider substitute component.
But the Manufacture plan didn't consider substiute component.
How to make Manufacture plan consider substiute component when we set demand source is from production plan .

I understand your requirement. I also believe that the manufacturing plan should be able to plan substitute components, but it would take quite a bit of analysis to understand why it was not working correctly. If you want to pursue that approach, I would recommend you start a SR with oracle support to troubleshoot.
The most typical approach with two plans is to have the production plan constrained and attempt to use available substitute components marked as critical. If that is the case, these "critical item" orders would not be replanned in the second plan. Your purchasing planner would not be able to firm planned orders in the second manufacturing plan, but could only update dates and release from that plan. At best case, any changes would be overwritten entered by the purchaing planner for items controlled in the production plan would be overwritten in the next cycle.
The best use of a two plan approach is to simplify constrained planning efforts by have a second unconstrained plans for most items and a smaller constrained plan driving the process. That is not your intent, so you might want to stay with one plan. You will always have some lag in these planners actions in a two plan process, so I don't know if this approach is driving any real benefit for you from a one plan approach. In either approach you will have planners stepping on each other and having to review exceptions, or better yet... talk to each other to review plans.
So...
1. If your intent is to limit the complexity of the constrained plan, the two plan approach has benefits
2. If point # 1 is not your intent, and you are focused on allowing planners to react faster and communicate with each other as they plan their schedules, stay with a one plan approach.

An assembly planner should not be releasing orders within two weeks when the materials are unavailable. That should not happen with a constrained plan unless they created an override the system recommendations. With unconstrained plans, the best you can do is implement a time fence control to prevent this and review exceptions.
I think the best you can do here is implement this process as constrained with substitutes considered for the Assembly planner. Then usining one plan, have the purchasing planner implement their orders based on the latest information. They should use safety stock planning techniques and be looking at a lonegr horizon for demands. They should also communicate these plans to each otherKevin

Itunes Genius: Missing something

Basically just a gripe. I'd like the genius feature enhanced. I really love the automatic genius mixes itunes has somehow provided for me. But, It's frustrating not being able to see the actual playlist. It could be the answer to my prayers! Organizing my music roughly by genre or sound more efficiently than having to do it manually. It's kind of about time for itunes to give us this sort of an organizational tool that goes all out, not just roughly shuffle songs around for my listening pleasure. I would appreciate a conistently organized playlist I didn't have to create myself. Yes, I am that lazy and I have THAT much music I don't want to deal with! I am ok with it not shuffling songs over and over. Perhaps even give us the shuffle on/off option for genius itself!
The playlists are titled by genre and while some artists or songs overlap I could still use genius' ability to group things together automatically as a tool. My music info is not complete at all, and rather than change the genre info of every single song myself, having my music grouped together already would make it so much easier! Is there a way to get this idea to itunes ASAP? lol. Seriously, we need this technology now. Pease tell me I am not alone.
