i purchased a song.shows i purchased. but it is not in my library. i have already restarted several times and synced several....HELP
When you go purchased, there will be a cloud there beside the name of the song and you click on that to see if it will redownload the song. Hope this helps you

Frustrating. My old computer died, I got a new one. I reinstalled iTunes and sync'd my purchased songs. However, one song I purchased did not transfer. Now when I go out to the i store it doesn't let me buy it because it says I already purchased it? what am I doing wrong???
From the iTunes store main page, look to the right.
Click "Purchased".

Music not showing up in library after drag and drop (7.0)
Music will not show up in library after draging and dropping .mp3's into itunes. Also won't show up if I try the File > Add Folder to Library. The processing files box shows up like its going to work, but it just doesn't. I have tried many differnet mp3's, some actually DID import.
Also, double clicking on an mp3 will bring up itunes, but it will not load or play the song.
I currently have 55.5GB of music, and 10,158 songs. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
xw8200 HP Windows 2000Try holding down the Shift key in Windows when launching iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in \Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\. Look in there and see if you have more than one library file (they have the extension .itl) If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file

My mac book pro has three updates ready to install. When I select all three of them and click install it shows them downloading, the computer restarts, and when the computer turns back on and I go to updates again they are still there to install. Help
Best to install them one at a time, re-booting between each one.

I'm a Windows PC user, and I'm currently in the process of combining my 12,000+ song library on my laptop (we'll call it Library A) with a 180,000+ song library (Library B, and yes, one-hundred-and-eighty thousand) onto a new hard drive. I have successfully moved Library A from my laptop onto my new hard drive. The method I have tried so far to move the Library B music into A on the new hard drive is by using the "Add Folder to Library" and selecting only a small portion of the folders in Library B's media folders as not to overload iTunes and to be able to pinpoint problems.
This worked for a few small iterations but the moment I tried doing half of the "A" artists (alphabetically), most of the music doesn't show up in the library. Some of it doesn't show up in the regular library but in the "Recently Added" playlist, and some don't show up in either. I have even tried adding just single files now and those don't show up at all.
THEY ALL SHOW UP IN THE MEDIA FOLDER ON THE NEW HARD DRIVE. That is why I think this might be true but I'm not sure: I've heard that it is because iTunes needs to process all the songs before it shows up in the actual library. Is this true? I have waited over an hour for adding about 6,000 songs; half showed up right in the beginning and half haven't yet. When I added about 4,000 just before this, they all showed up without any problems.
Any help? And is there an easier, error-free way to add this many songs into a new library at once? I'll keep this updated for anyone trying. Thanks in advance!

finally somebody with the same problem! i bought a new external drive because i was running out of space and backed up my entire library. then my computer crashed and i wanted to take advantage of a clean drive and not add my whole library back onto my computer. i'd love to be able to access my music folder on the external and have that show up as my library on iTunes when connected...
i followed all the steps as closely as possible and am pretty confident that my advanced preferences in iTunes are correct, but the library does not show these songs from the external drive. have you had any feedback or figured it out on your own?! i hope so, i'm at a deadend. -
Bought a movie and it is not showing up in library
Bought a movie on itunes and does not show up in my library. Is that normal? I was able to watch it on my apple tv
and it does show up on in account. It also shows up in a list of movies "not in your library".How did you figure it out?

Imported audiobook and iPhone videos not showing in main library.
Today I imported an Audible book I had downloaded by dragging the files onto the "Library" section of iTunes. The progress bar showed that the files were being imported and the book shows up in a smart playlist in the "Playlist" section but not in the "Books" category of the library. I have checked and the files are exactly where they are supposed to be on my hard drive with this author's other books. A similar thing happened when I imported videos from my iPhone. I had downloaded them from my phone onto my desktop and then dragged them onto the library where the progress bar showed they were imported. They are not in the "Movies" library but when I went to sync them onto my iPad2 they show under the "Movies" tab of the iPad and were successfully synchronized onto my iPad2. I tried quiting iTunes and restarting it but this did not cause them to show up. I then restart the whole computer but still no go.
Any suggestions? I am running iTunes 10.6 (40) on an Intel Core 2 Duo iMac running OSX 10.7.3.

Can anyone help with the apple tv dilemma
That's a very interesting find. A couple people have been reporting this. But we thought it was Google breaking that page on purpose because they plan to remove that special Firefox search page. They think it's too old and want people to switch to the newer one. But I'm still not sure why being signed into Google breaks that page (and signing out fixes it), I believe Google is at fault here and needs to update the code on that page.

I bought What I've Done by Linkin Park and it is not showing up in my library nor my Purchased. iTunes froze right after I bought it. Could that be the reason why I didn't get my song? If so how do I get it?
If that doesnt work than try going into My Documents -> My Music -> iTunes -> iTunes Library -> Linkin Park -> and see if the song file is there, if it is just drag it into your purchased music.

Songs not showing up on my iPhone 4 and iPad 1 on iOS 5.0.1?
I have about one third of my music library not showing up on my iPhone 4 and iPad 1, even though it is ticked and everything, on iTunes it says that it should have been synced...
For example, I have 'only sync ticked songs and videos to my iPhone/iPad' enabled in iTunes, and all songs by Katy Perry are ticked, but only about 4 show up? the songs that didnt show up are there if I look for them through albums, but they don't show up under the artist 'Katy Perry'.
Basically, iTunes says the songs are synced, but they aren't on the iDevice.
Also, I don't have match enabled, is it something to do with iCloud taking this music 'off' my iDevice because I didn't download it from the iTunes Store?

I guess I'm confused. Are you trying to sync with match? or is match off?
If you are trying to sync with match on then go to settings>music> and make sure that the show all music toggle is turned on.
If you are trying to sync with match off and are trying to put files onto your phone without usiing match then uncheck the music tab under your phones information on your computer and then let it sync and take everything off. Then recheck the music box under the music tab and go to your summary page and make sure that the box that says sync only checked music is selected and resync. Sometimes you have to take everything off before you can get it to resync and put stuff back on.
Again, if you talking about what you see with match turned ON, on your ios device then make sure that the toggle for show all music is turned on.
You cannot sync with your computer and itunes match at the same time. You have to do one or the other.
Please let me know if I misunderstood your question or did not answer it properly.
