Purchased albums don't show in iTunes ... playlists missing

Hi!
I'm using iTunes 7.3.1. and have noticed that none of the albums/songs purchased from the iTunes store do not display when I click on "Purchased" within the STORE section on the LH side of the screen. The files themselves are fortunately still there.
I also note that many of my playlists have disappeared although the playlist name still appears.
What might I have done to cause this. Help appreciated
DAVID

Ken:
Delete the iPhoto, iTunes and the iApps preference files. Then launch iPhoto followed by iTunes. See if that will let iTunes view the iPhoto albums.
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Most iPhoto '09 albums don't show up in the screen saver preferences

I just realised that most of my iPhoto '09 albums don't show up in the screen saver preferences... How can I make them visible again?

Bruce Etnyre has a more permanent fix over on the Using 10.5 forum:
You might try this. Go to the:
    Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/ByHost folder
(where “yourusername” is the short name of your computer, like baumgarten - the folder looks like a house/home)
and move these files to the Trash:
    com.apple.screensaver.XXXXX.plist
    com.apple.screensaver.slideshow.XXXXX.plist
and this one, if you have it:
    com.apple.iphotomosaic.XXXXX.plist
The XXXXX before the .plist is a hexadecimal string.

  • HT204370 How do I permanently delete purchased movies or TV shows from itunes?

How can I permanently delete purchased movies or TV shows from itunes?

You can't currently permanently delete items, all you can do is hide them so that they are less visible : hiding and unhiding.  At the moment you can't hide items directly on iOS 6 devices, but you should be able to do it via your computer's iTunes.

  • Why is it that some missed calls don't show up in the missed calls list?

Why is it that some missed calls don't show up in the Missed Calls list?

Missed calls can only appear in your missed call list if your phone knows about them.  In other words, if the phone rang, but you did not answer.
If a call was missed because your phone was turned off or not in a strong enough service area to receive the call, then it will not show up on your phone.

  • My purchased songs don't show up on my iPod

I have one of the first generation iPod Touch.  I've purchased songs and they show up on my music in iTunes but even after synching they don't show up on my device.  Can't figure out how to get them there.  Any ideas?  Since Apple change the version of iTunes I can't figure out how to synch after i buy something so usually end up disconnecting my device, reattaching to my computer and then it synchs.  Apple support have been absolutely of no assistance.

Automatic syncing is controlled (set up by the user) using the iPod's Music tab.  Select the iPod in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  Over to the right (near the top), there is a row of "tabs" (they look like buttons in the latest iTunes), that starts with Summary.  Click on Music there.
Make sure Sync Music is checked.  Below that, you tell iTunes how you want your iPod synced with music.  If your entire iTunes music library will fit on the iPod, you can select Entire music library.  Then, any change to your library (such as purchasing new songs from the iTunes Store) should automatically sync to the iPod.
Otherwise, if the entire library will not fit or you don't want to fill up the iPod with only songs, you need to set up syncing based on Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Below that setting, set up the rest of the Music tab to tell iTunes what playlists, artists, albums, or genres to sync.  Only the songs included in your selection will sync to the iPod, so if you purchased new songs, they will not sync to the iPod unless thay are included in the selection on the Music tab.
One easy way to set it up is to create a new playlist in iTunes, and call it something like "iPod songs."  From your music library, add ALL the songs you want on the iPod to this playlist (including those new songs).  On the iPod's Music tab, select this playlist for syncing.  Going forward, any change you make to this playlist (adding or removing songs) will sync to the iPod automatically when it is connected and you tell it to Sync.
You can also set up the other tabs, such as Movies and Podcasts (and Apps for an iPod touch), to set up syncing for those other categories of media.  Just make sure the total size of the selection is less than the capacity of the iPod (shown on the "bar" near the bottom).
All of the above has not changed for the latest version if iTunes.  It works the same as before...

  • When I went to download a previously purchased album from an old computer, iTunes only downloaded 1 track and said the rest of the album was never purchased

This has happened for a lot of my purchased albums, and I don't feel it's fair to have to repurchase something I've rightfully already paid for.

Go back and download the ones that are missing. It is possible that the some of the downloads that completed are corrupt if the connection was encountering problems while they were downloading. It may be best to delete them and start from scratch.
Don't find them in the iTunes store, download them from here:
iTunes > More > Purchased > TV Shows

  • Aperture photos don't show on iTunes synch

Synching with iPhoto works fine, butI can't see any photos when attempting to synch to Aperture. As noted in another post, Projects don't show up. It does see smart albums, but with a zero photo count for all. Any thoughts on why? Do Aperture photos have to be managed in the library vs referenced in order to be seen and synched? [All of my photos are references to outside image files.] Does it matter that the Aperture library is maintained in a non-standard location?

in the photos tab of the A-TV setup, there's a label near the top that says, "Sync photos from:" and a pull-down menu next to it. from here you can choose either iPhoto or Aperture. you have to have Aperture selected in order to sync them and see your albums.
also, make sure that you've got at least Aperture 1.5, but preferably 1.5.2 and that you've got previews turned on and being generated for new albums. finally, there's also a setting in the preferences to share the previews with other iLife apps. i think iTunes needs that to be able to see/sync photos.

  • Covers don't show in iTunes?

Since the latest iTunes update (11.0.4) my covers don't show. I just get coloured boxes. I'm running OS X 10.7.5

    Hello there MikeAChap,
I would recommend getting the album artwork again.
    First I recommend doing this:
Retrieve album artwork for songs in your library from the iTunes Store: Control-click the songs and choose Get Album Artwork from the pop-up menu.
    From: https://help.apple.com/itunes/mac/11.0/help/index.html?localePath=English.lproj# itns3027
Also, if not already enabled I would set iTunes to automatically get the album artwork in the preferences.
    Open iTunes Preferences
    Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences.
    Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences.
    Click Store.
Select the "Automatically download missing album artwork" checkbox.
From: iTunes: Album art may not download properly

  • Devices don't show on iTunes 11.0.4 (OS X 10.8.4)

Recently devices stopped showing on iTunes, more specifically my iPhone 4S and iPad.
I plug them via the USB cable and they don't show on the upper right hand corner of iTunes.
I have tried reinstalling iTunes 11.0.4, restarting my computer, turning devices off then back on, and nothing has worked. The USB cables and ports are working just fine. I have searched for numerous discussions on this but none of the solutions have worked for me.
    Any ideas?

    Hi
I have the early 2011 Macbook Air (non illuminated keyboard) and know that Airplay does not work on this model (Something to do with the Graphic Card spec IMHO).  Thus to be able to use Airplay on AppleTV, etc then I have purchased the App "AirParrot" as recommended on here and in my local Apple Store.
    Hope this answers your question

  • My purchased music does not show in iTunes on my new mac

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro.  The iTunes library was transferred over by the Apple store employees, but my purchased music does not show.  How can I get my purchased music to show in iTunes?  (I previously had a Windows PC).  Thank you!

The 'Purchased' music is just a special Playlist. You can create your own and drag the links into the 'Purchased' PL.
Using the command CMD-J you can add the Purchase date to your list view - sort by date - drag the tunes to the 'Purchased' PL.

  • AppleTV don't show in iTunes with internet sharing on

    Dear all,
I have a problem with my new appletv. I'm sharing internet connection via ethernet on my iMac directly connected to a linksys access point. tv have a wireless connection to the linksys and the ethernet ip address of my iMac as a gateway. With internet sharing on my iTunes don't show tv and don't synchronize with it.
My current setup is iTunes 8.1 and tv 2.3.1 firmware. With previous firmware release all is ok.
Any suggestion? Is it possible to use internet sharing and iTunes sync at the same time?

Songs will only show up if they are in the library. Did you copy the music from your old iTunes library and load it on the new computer?

When you connect the iPod the summary screen should automatically open.
If you click on the 'music' tab, you will see the options to:
"display album artwork on your iPod". Make sure that is enabled.
See also: My artwork is missing.

  • Album list for iPhone in iTunes is missing albums from iTunes library

There are albums which appear in my iTunes library but do not appear in the album list for my iPhone while it is connected to iTunes.  The albums were recently added by being imported from a CD.
In iTunes, I click on my iPhone to open the menus and options related to syncing the iPhone.  Then, I click the tab for music.  There are four large boxes: Playlists, Artists, Genres, and Albums.  The albums for the CD that I recently imported is not listed in that box.  I cannot check the box to have it added to my iPhone.
To circumvent this, I went to my iTunes library, selected the albums, and dragged them over to my iPhone.
While the problem is solved, I don't understand why the album was not listed where it was "supposed" to be.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Sorry to learn your music lost, but let me be suspicious here; iTunes does not delete music by itself.
Given say that, you have lost music. First thing to verify is does your music is deleted from the iTunes Music Folder or is it just removed from the iTunes library.
You should do some search on your hardisk to see if you can actually found the music files. Depending of your iTunes setup, these files could be store at different location. Usually, they should be found in /User/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Artist Names. But your could use spotlight to do some research; tell us you could find on your disk any of your lost music!
Beside, there is also a feature in iTunes 7 that let you backup your music to disc if you have a DVD burner, it will take you a few minutes.

  • Entire iTunes Playlist Missing

    Hi,
My entire iTunes playlist is missing. All that's inside my iTunes music folder is displayed here.
    What happened?

Reinstalling iTunes won't fix rhis type of problem. At a guess the Temp File.tmp contains a  (possibly) partial version of the library.
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library as iTunes Library (Corrupt) and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
The image above is for Windows but should give the idea. Libraries created by older versions of iTunes on a Mac don't use the .itl file extension. Your screenshot doesn't show it, so don't add it to the file you copy & rename.
See MusicFolder Files Not Added and Super Remove Dead Tracks for tools to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
