Purchased apps marked as Installed on clean install. Can't re-install them
I recently did a clean install of Lion and several of my Mac App Store purchased items are labeled as "installed" so I can not re-install them on my new computer. How do I fix this?
New Mac? Launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Store > Authorize This Computer
Quit iTunes.
Open the App Store.
Try holding down the Option key and click the Install button at the same time.

An app is considered to be installed if it shows up in a Spotlight search of local volumes. Bring up a search window in the Finder by pressing the key combination command-F. Search This Mac for the name of the application. Delete all copies that are found.

i signed in with an account that has a 6.99 dollar purchased app and pressed install but i got billed for it it should of been free
We won't know until you try the procedure. The reset will not affect the content of the iPod.

I have unlocked my iPhone 3G with Vodafone via iTunes, but now the downloaded apps crash immediately when opened. I've tried a Restore, but this didn't help. I've also tried removing all apps and re-installing them, but they still don't work. Any ideas? Thanks.
yep, unfortunately can't reset without the passcode either.
With regards to doing a restore, do you mean:
open itunes on my computer
click on my device on the left
go to the device summary
click restore
it then asks if i want to back up before i restore (to which i say no)
then it asks me if i'm sure I want to restore to factory settings and that all of me media and data will be erased and replaced with the newest version ( to which I say yes)
then it takes about 90 mins to do this but when I look at my phone, everything is exactly the same.
Am I missing something? Obviously I'm technologically challenged, but I HAVE to get to the bottom of this! -

Is there any way to recover purchased apps after re installing windows?
I purchased few apps and they were installed in my iPhone 4. They were also saved in my hard drive. Recently i re installed my windows and could not able to find saved applications (which were deleted in the installation process). Now they are only installed in my iPhone but i want their setup so that i can install them whenever they are deleted from my iPhone. Kindly help.

Some of my purchased apps show installed but don't appear as icons on my phone. How do I get them to be icons?
I am back. I have now sorted out my Launch Pad to be organized the way I want it. I have decluttered my Dock. Very nice.
Now I want to add some of the remaining icons for apps that did not automatically show up in Launch Pad. So, again, how do I do that?

When I plug my iPad into my Mac to download pictures the first thing it asks is to download an upgrade to the iPad but It says I need to move purchased apps to the iTunes library before proceeding, how do I do this?? And while I'm here is there an easy way to download one or two pictures or videos from my iPad to my Mac without downloading ALL of them?? Or is there a way to drag and drop between an iPad and Mac??

I purchased the game Gone Home for my computer and it will not install. I've looked at the purchases list in the app store and have clicked on the install button, but absolutely nothing happens. I've searched the applications folder and there's nothing there either. It seems as if it didn't even download. This setiously bothers me as I've spent $20 on this.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select
/var/log ▹ appstore.log
from the hierarchical list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, click the Clear Display button in the toolbar of the Console window and then try the installation again.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

It says that a new version of Pages is required. The update in The App Store shows that it is version 5.2 AND that it is installed. Pages claims to be 4.3. What now? Thanks.
Pages v5 and IOS Pages v2.1 introduced a completely incompatible document format that Pages ’09 v4.3 cannot open. That document extension remains .pages for added confusion. Due to Pages v5 missing about 100+ features/functionality that were in v4.3, you may find that the file conversion to v5.2 may have filtered content from your older document format.
In Pages v5.2, use File > Export to Pages ’09 and see what remains.
In the future, with both applications installed on your Mac, a double-click of any Pages document will attempt to open it with Pages v5.2. If you want to open a Pages ’09 v4.3 document, you will need to open it directly from the relevant Open dialog, or by right-clicking on the document, and using the Open With > Pages (4.3) menu item. You have already seen the dialog when you attempt to open a Pages v5 document with the older Pages.
Here in the Pages for Mac community, we are recommending that users strictly continue to use Pages ’09 v4.3 until a time in the future where Apple has reconstructed Pages v5 or v6 into an acceptible WP application. -
Exclamation marks next to songs, but I can no longer find them on my harddrive
I have a Win 7 laptop and an old 30GB ipod. Both iTunes and iPod software are up to date. I download songs from CDs that I own and they appear in the proper iTunes folder. However, after I sync my ipod, many of these songs suddenly get an exclamation mark next to them in iTunes and I can no longer find these songs on my hard drive anywhere. In some cases, only a couple songs from a CD get the exclamation mark and disappear and in other cases it is the entire CD. Why is this happening and where are the songs that I downloaded? These is happening over and over. What is the fix?

I can't click on either option at all and have tried everything. Itunes will sync with my sisters Ipad but not my Ipod. Please help!!
Did you check if there are any restrictions enabled on the ipod in Settings/General/Restrictions?

I bought my IMac used from a reputable dealer but the previous owner had downloaded apps with their icloud account. I could not for instance install iphoto because it had already been installed. I took my computer back to the store and they "fixed" it. They installed ilife on my computer which I thought would fix the problem with the previous owner but it hadn't. Today I was looking at ibooks and the app had been previously installed and now I can not purchase or install it. I'm not sure how many more apps I'm going to find this problem with.
The Mac App Store 'looks' in your Application folder to see if a purchased app is still installed... what happens when you go to the Purchases tab? Does it show the app as being installed?

- Are the apps missing or are the icons white?
- If missing have yu tried using the Spotlight search and trying to find them?
- Have you tried downloading them on your iPad and then syncing?
- Have you tried deleting them on the computer and then syncing? That might also delete them from the iPad so you can redownal them
- Have you tried reetting the iPad?

button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. -

Did you purchase this computer or did you just do a re-install or update to Snow Leopard?
Did you own Office? What version of Microsoft Office did you have installed. You can still run Office 2004 on Snow Leopard but Office 2004 will not work under Lion and higher. Once I know what version you are interested in, I can offer best options for you. Do you want email in Office or are you planning on using Apple Mail?

Option 1) Do you have the original computer's install disks? If yes you can install iLife that includes iPhoto. Once you have installed iLife I would suggest running the Software Update utility until no more updates are available (do this before actually using the software).
Option 2) Open Mac App Store.
Hold Option key and click on “Purchases”.
Option-click on “IPhoto” from the purchased app list.
“Installed’ should now say “Install” allowing you to re-download iPhoto, or try Option-click again on the “Install” button to start re-downloading iPhoto.
Note:
Please note however, that the current version of iPhoto 11 (version 9.4.3) available at through the App Store must run on OS 10.7.5 or later. Earlier versions of iPhoto 11 (version 9.2.1 or earlier) could run on Snow Leopard OS 10.6.8.
You may want to call Apple's Customer Care and see if you can still get a version of iPhoto 11 that will run with Snow Leopard.
