Purchased Audiobooks that no longer show up as "purchased"

I see from other discussions that audio books are not included in iTunes Match.  While that is absurd and incredibly irritating as a longtime and loyal customer, whatever. However, I have purchased all of my audio books from iTunes, and yet none of them show up in my Purchased folder on iTunes, so that I can't download them again to my new computer.  I am now afraid to sync any of my devices to my new computer as I do not want to lose what I already own.  What is the point of having an iTunes account if it doesn't actually keep track of what I have purchased?  And I suppose more relevant to this community, is there any way to have iTunes acknowledge my previous audiobook purchases so that I can sync my devices without losing content?

iTunes Match is for music only.
Audiobooks are one-time only downloads from the store - I believe that they are all supplied by audible.com, so I assume that it's them requiring the one-time download.
Do you still have them on your old computer ? If you do then you can copy them over e.g. via a flash-drive or (if both computer are connected to the same wifi network) home sharing. If not then you can add them to your new computer's iTunes library from your backup of your downloads via File > Add To Library
If you don't still have a copy of them anywhere, and if they are still in your country's store (and you haven't changed countries since buying them), then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a redownload : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
But if you are not already doing so then you should be keeping and maintaining a backup copy of all your downloads, any item (film, TV programme etc) could be removed by the rights-holder at any time

  • How do i uninstall a purchased app (that no longer appears in the purchased app list in the store) so that i can repurchase and have the app appear as "purchased" so that i can get updates as the software is updated periodically?

I am looking for some help with the app store.  I recently purchased an app (aperture) in the app store and subsequently apple refunded the purchase price.  However, the downside of this is that aperture no longer appears as a "purchased" app within my app store account.  Accordingly, i don't believe i will get updates as the software is updated periodically.  Apple has instructed me to delete all my aperture files, reboot and then revisit the app store to re-download and it should let me pay for the app and redownload just as if i had never had the app before.  However, when i go to purchase aperture, i get a warning that it has already been purchased and that i can re-download for free.  That sounds great but again it won't appear in the "purchased" list in the app store b/c of the original refund from apple.  I never thought i would have this much trouble trying to pay someone for a product!
    Questions:
Is the app store looking to my hard drive for traces of aperture to determine whether it has been purchased or is it looking at some kind of purchase history within the app store?
Is there anyway to wipe my hard drive clean of aperture files or wipe clean my app store purchase history so that i can start over?
If none of this is possible, does anyone have a possible solution?
If i were to redownload aperture (currently for free since it won't let me pay) when a subsequent update comes out (say it goes from version 3.2.2 to 3.2.3) can i then elect to buy aperture, pay the fee and will it appear as a purchased app and allow me to get upgrades going forward?  Would any data be compromised with this?
    Many thanks for your help!

    1. Do you have a backup connected to your Mac that contains the app? If so, yes the MAS can detect that and believes that the app is installed.
    2. If the app no longer appears in the purchase history on the Purchased pane in the MAS, then it would seem that Apple has taken care of that.
    4. Updates, such as you describe are free. Upgrades are not. An upgrade is a new paid version of the app, such as v 3.0 to v 4.0.

How can i retrieve purchased audiobooks that were not synced (problem encountered during sync process)?  My account shows the purchase history, but the apps are no longer displayed in itunes or on my ipad or iphone.  I'm not very savvy with using iTunes - I don't think is very intuitive (unlike me:)).  Any help would be appreciated.

How do i retrieve downloads that I purchased that no longer show up on my Iphone>

What you can re-download will depend upon what country that you are in (music, films and/or tv shows can't be re-downloaded in all) and the type of item (audiobooks and ringtones are one-time only downloads) - the Purchased tabs in the iTunes and App Store apps, and in the ibookstore in the iBooks app, will show what you can re-download. If other items of the same type show there but a particular item doesn't (and it's still in the store) then you could check to see if anything is hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919

You should be able to copy it from your iPhone to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, and if it's compatible with your iPad you can then sync it to it

If it is otherwise working, you can change the battery.  If you want to do it yourself, you can buy the part on eBay and other online sources.  Just make sure you know the type of iPod you have so that you get the right part.

There are online guides, including the ones on this web site
    http://www.ifixit.com/Device/iPod
(Note:  Most replacement batteries come with plastic/nylon tools seen in the guides.)
You can also have a repair business do the work.
If it is just the battery, if you do a Reset (using the Menu and Select buttons) while it is connect to your computer, I think it should still be recognized by iTunes.

  • Albums that I have purchased are no longer showing in the purchased section

Alright, this may sound a bit confusing. I have purchased albums with my iTunes account and now some are not showing in the purchased link in the iTunes store, under quick links. If you go to the individual album page, Save Rock and Roll for example, it says purchased where it would normally say the price. Is there a way to fix this to where I have all of the purchased albums again, so that I don't have to waste money whenever I upgrade my phone? It's doing the same thing on my phone as well, iPhone 4.

No, there are no refunds if an item is removed from the store - if not already doing so you should be keeping and maintaining a backup copy of all of your downloads (the store's terms advise you to back them up as you may not be able to redownload them), any item could be removed at any time, you are only guaranteed one download of any item.

  • Audiobook that will not show up on iPod

I downloaded an audiobook that will transfer on to my iPod, but it does not show up in the "Audiobooks" section when I actually browse the iPod by itself (not via the computer).
I sent an email to the support team, got nothing but a reference to this place. Anyone know what might be the problem?
I did notice one thing -- When I checked the info of the files I saw that the genre was not set to "Audiobook" like my other ones have been. I changed it accordingly and transferred it over again, but to no avail.
Anything you can give me would be appreciated.

What causes a file to appear in the Audiobooks library of iTunes/iPod is the file type, not genre. The file type must be .aa or .m4b.
Luckily it's easy to turn .m4a (AAC) files into .m4b -- just edit the filename extension. MP3s cannot be converted directly, although you could use iTunes to convert them to AAC and then change their extension to .m4b. Full steps for turning audiobook CDs into one .m4b book are here:

  • How do I recover files from HP Connected Drive that no longer show up after a factory reset?

I am trying to recover files that were once visible in HP Connected Drive, after completing a factory reset. The files that I need are no longer showing up. How can I get them back?

Try using a data recovery product such as the ones listed here. Don't erase the drive or write anything else to it until the files are recovered or you choose not to recover them.

  • HT3702 There are charges to my credit card from itunes that are not showing in my purchase history. How do i find out what they are?

Having trouble identifying charges to my credit card bill. The charges can not be found in my purchase history.

You haven't got any auto-renewing subscriptions (I'm not sure if they show on the purchase history or not, I don't have any so I can't check) - there are instructions on this page for managing and stopping them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098
And have you added or changed your credit card details on your iTunes account ? If you have then each time that you do so a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - it should disappear off your account within a few days or so.
    Store holding charge : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3702
If you still can't find them, and your card isn't or hasn't been linked to any other accounts, then you may want to contact your card issue. You can also try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • How do I find a purchased app that is not showing up in the purchases tab?

I am trying to help a friend install OS X 10.8. She purchased it about 3 months ago but wasn't too sure about installing it. Today, I looked up the order number, and it is confirmed that it has been electronically delivered via e-mail. I couldn't find an e-mail with a link to the purchase, so I assumed it would be in her purchases page in the Mac App Store; however, when I visited her purchases page, it has no record of any purchases. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I can locate it, or who I should contact to receive help with this?

It sounds like she may be using a different account then the one that was used to purchase 10.8
If you cannot locate the purchase, contact the iTunes Store so they can help you figure out which account it's attached to.

This is a book that I had purchased a while ago, read the whole thing, and then deleted from my iphone to make room for more books. Now I would like to read it again but when I re-downloaded it, only the first 40 pages appear. I've tried deleting then redownloading again and even updating the app but I can't get the rest of the book to appear. Help.

  • Im getting texts from some of my contacts that no longer show their name but come across with  1 followed by the phone number.

after updating my iphone 5 c to the latest iOS version, i am getting texts from some (not all) of my contacts that no longer display the name but only +1 followed buy the phone number. Is there something that needs to be adjusted in the settings to fix ths problem?

Open your contact list and swipe down from the top. You can filter your contact list by account. Anything not in any of the listed contact types is a local contact. It would help if we could narrow down where the contacts were stored previously vs. where they are stored now.
