Purchased Boxed iWorks but still acting as a trial

Hello All!
I'm still kind of new to the world of Macs. I used to own an iMac when I was in high school, but since then have only been using iPods and iPads. I recently purchased an iMac and I love it so far. However, I need to do some office work, so I decided to give iWork a try. After completing the 30 day trial I decided the program would work well for what I needed, so I proceeded to purchase a copy of the program.
When I went to Best Buy they no longer carried the program, so I went online and then discovered I could save money purchasing boxed version because of work. So, I went ahead and bought the boxed version. I got it in the mail today and found out that they no longer include the serial number and that the program has to be installed so that it will run the regular version.
I installed the program, it ran through everything and said that it installed properly. So, I continued to work on some spreadsheets. After a while, I went to save and it comes up saying that I need to activate the trial. I read through everything and it seems that I was doing everything as I was supposed to.
I made sure everything was up to date before and after the install and it was fine, so I didn't know what else to try. So, I finally decided to uninstall the trial version and then put the iWork DVD back in thinking it would just install it as if iWork had never been installed to begin with. After I did this I got an error saying that it could not run on the computer and to try all these different steps. All I had to do was run another software update and it opened just fine.
Unfortunately, when I went back in to save my file again, it comes up saying I need to activate the trial.
So, at this point I have no idea what to do and I'm turning to the experts to give me some advice on what I can and should do next.

It could very well be that the preference file created by the original iWork trial install is still there - that would be the explanation for the problem.
You'll need to go to the now hidden Library folder:
Hold down Option key and go to Go menu; open Library folder.
Open Preferences folder and delete all of these:
Make sure any/all of iWork is uninstalled as well.
Restart.
Install iWork from the DVD again. Hopefully this will work.

    Well when I put my serial key in it had a green check mark, and when I go to HELP> UPDATES it says all my programs are up to date..

    What specific limitations do you see in After Effects after you entered the serial number?
    Are you having problems importing any files of the protected formats?  Problems exporting?
    Here are a couple of things you can check to see whether or not the protected content is installed:
    * Add a comp to the Render Queue and open the Output Module settings.  Is MPEG2-DVD an available format?
    * In the Effects & Presets panel, or the Effect menu, is Synthetic Aperture > Color Finesse available?

    Are In-App Purchases restrictesd? Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases

  • Purchased boxed product but says redemption code invalid

    Several months back I purchased a boxed adobe photoshop elements 12 and adobe premiere elements 12 at Best Buy.  The MacBook Pro I purchased at the same time does not have a CD/DVD player/burner which I questioned because the boxed adobe product is a DVD installation.  The Best Buy salesman said I could go online and download and wouldn't have to use the DVD to do so.  I haven't had time to do so until now, several months later.  I does not show I have a product registered even though I have a redemption code which I keyed in and it came back with my two serial numbers.  But when I use either serial number to download the product from the adobe website, it tells me I do not have a valid serial number.  What do I do now???

    Thank you for your reply John.  Yes, I've gone there and talked with 3 different tech support.  I've downloaded 4 times now.  1 hour 25 minutes each time just for it to then tell me "can not write file".  Could it have anything to do with it taking too long to download?  Could it have anything to do with java script because when I tried to copy and paste the adobe download link in my address bar, the link turned into "java script void" or something similar?  It should be this complicated.  I've also gone in to make sure my computer is configured to allow me to "read & write".

    This is completely normal.  NO need to be so over dramatice and go accusing anyone of ripping you off.  Calm down and understand, before you mouth off.
    Itunes verifies your account using the credit card info.
    This does not mean that they will charge your credit card.

    hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

  • PS Elements 13 - purchased box DVD, but the label serial number only has 18 numbers and not 24.  Only a pin on the sleeve. Stuck!

    The chat line is down for the Chrismas Holiday and I'm stuck.  Cannot locate the 24 digit serial number to register the product to use it.  Any advise?  I've got the DVD for a MAC that I purchased for $89. from B&H Photo online.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Have you bothered to do any research at all? Not every app was upgrade to 5.5. Those that weren’t will next be upgraded to CS6.

    Your 'educated guesses about my current browser and operating system' are correct, 7.0.1 and Windows XP.

    The plugin check page only recognizes some common plugins that play media on web pages and not plugins added by security software like McAfee. So no need to worry about that. Just make sure that you keep all your software up to date, especially software that deals with internet access and security software (anti-virus software, firewall).

    My IT department has purchased Creative Cloud for myself and a colleague. I have received an invitation by email which states that I've been assigned a Creative Cloud - Complete Membership.
    I followed the links to download and installed Photoshop initially. However, once downloaded it says that it's a trial version.
    When I log in to my Adobe account and click on 'Manage Account' it says that I have Creative Cloud for Teams so really don't understand why I only have a trial version.

  • I subscribed to the student edition of CC yesterday, but still can only install Trial Versions via the Creative Cloud Applet. Is that normal?

    Is it usual to take some time? I wouldnt think so. But who knows. If I click activate in the application, the software asks for a serial which i didn't get.
