Purchased Content -- Error Loading Content Persists

I've been recieving the "Error Loading Content" message even after Restarting and Restoring my 3rd Gen Apple TV.
This only happens with purchased iTunes content -- movies, shows -- and not Netflix content, etc.
Anything I can try?

There are two location redirects send by the server on that request and Firefox doesn't allow that.

If you leave out the &goto=newpost then only one redirect is send and it works.<br />
If you click the above link that has a trailing ')' then that also makes the server send only one redirect because that link is no longer valid.

  • Error code -45054 from iTunes store when trying to purchase content

Tried everything I could think of. Had already done a fresh install of OS Mavericks and this issue recently came up. Couldn't find any threads describing a fix so any help is appreciated.
error code -45054 from iTunes store when trying to purchase content
    Specifically:
"We could complete your iTunes store request
    An unknown error occurred (-45054)
There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later"
    3 days later...same error code.

    Hello there, Tyger2204.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps and additional reference links for troubleshooting issues connecting to the iTunes Store:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368
Feel free to begin with these recommended steps:
Make sure your computer is up-to-date and meets the following requirements
Make sure that you can access the Internet on your computer or device.
Make sure that your computer meets the iTunes minimum system requirements.
Make sure that your operating system is up to date:
For Mac: Choose Apple () > Software Update to determine if updates are available for your computer.
    Troubleshoot issues on a Mac
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store, a software conflict or your Internet service provider (ISP) may be blocking your access.
Update iTunes and Safari to the latest version.
If you have a firewall, your settings may be preventing you from connecting to the iTunes Store. Follow these steps to configure your firewall.
You may need to reset your keychain. Connection issues are occasionally caused by keychain issues. Learn how to use Keychain First Aid to resolve any issues with your keychain.
If you're receiving a specific error message, follow these steps.
If the issue still persists, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and servers are enabled over your network.

  • I am getting a "java.lang.RuntimeException: Error loading file:....NULL content-length." message when attempting to load a jnlp file

I am the applications administrator for an instance of Galaxy server. In Galaxy there is an option / plugin to opne a BAM file via the Integrative Genomics Viewer (IGV) created at the Broad Institute. When invoked it downloads a jnlp file and launches IGV and then is supposed to open the BAM file in the viewer. However, when it attempts to open the BAM file I get the following error:
"An Error occurred while loading: http://galaxy/display_application/52cef830ad5766ca/igv_bam/web/29212308ff643a94/data/galaxy_52cef830ad5766ca.bam

    UPDATE
Compiling from command line I found out that the class definition for oracle.oats.scripting.modules.basic.api.IteratingVUserScript is missing. Do you know what .jar file contains this class?

  • Error Loading Content

I just upgraded AppleTV software to 5.1 (5201) On Oct 15, 2012, now I keep seeing ERROR LOADING CONTENT when I play music from iTunes using iTunes Match. Songs will play for about a minute, then Apple TV says ERROR LOADING CONTENT. What's going on here?

Contact iTunes Store support - there could be an issue with Apple's servers but it's unacceptable you can't watch content you've paid for.
Assume AppleTv works ok for YouTube (test it if you don't use it often) and any local itunes streaming?  (just to test local network and internet connectivity)

  • "There was an error loading this content.  Please try again later."

I've had my Apple TV since December.  I rented several movies from the iTunes Store with no problems.  This April, when I tried to rent a movie, it gave me the following message when I attempted to play the movie: "There was an error loading this content.  Please try again later."  All other functionality on the Apple TV is fine.  My internet connection is working perfectly.  The Apple TV is connected to the network.  This occurs regardless of which movie I rent (I've tried four!) and when I attempt to rent a movie.  This is very frustrating!

I also get the message " An error occurred loading this content. Try again later." Though I have tried later many times nothing changes except for the speed at which i receive the error. It seems to correlate with the activity in the network. If there are more devices pulling from the network ( meaning the download speed should be slower) I receive the error message faster, this makes sense in that its failing faster.
    I have tried:
    A different network.
    Apple Tv's "Test Network"
Signing out and back in to my iTunes account.(Including updating the billing information)
    Reset All Settings
    Restore
Software Update (Software is up to date)
Called Apple. (They said its probably my internet speed)
    Notes:
I have Played HD iTunes content previously.( On the previous version of Apple Tv software)
I believe my internet speed is less than 2.5 Mbps.
Everything else on my apple tv works fine.
I believe the most recent update to Apple Tv has, for some reason, disabled the ability to slowly buffer the content you rent on iTunes. Previously I could rent a movie or tv show and select play, then you could navigate anywhere in the apple tv menu until a message appeared saying your content was ready to play.
I want to go back to the old software.

  • There was an error loading this content...happens all the time

at least three times I day I have to unplug and plug in the power as it gives me the "there was an error loading this content" message constantly...why does this happen?  This is a very frustrating device

That will usually indicate a network issue.
What is your current connection via speedtest.net
Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general - network)
    If on wifi try ethernet
You can go to istumbler, netstumbler or similar to see a report of the network, look for signal strength and noise

  • TS3623 I paused my rented movie on Apple TV. Now I continuously get an "Error loading content" and it won't play. I've turned it off/on, reset, etc., no luck.

Four minutes into my movie, I paused it to answer the phone. Now I can't get it to come back on. I've held the center button on the remote to turn off the Apple TV, then turned it back on, my internet connection is fine, I've tried starting it over from the beginning. It just won't come back on. Meanwhile, since I started the movie, my 24-hour time-limit to watch it is ticking down.
This is annoying! Any possible solutions? I get "error loading content" a lot - more than reasonable. Usually with Netflix, but sometimes this happens with iTunes movies as well.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks,
    Reid

  • Netflix error loading content

    Netflix gives "error loading content"
    Thoughts to correct?

I had the issue back in November & December where it was working however the quality was horrible.  That was fixed and now I'm getting the "An error occurred loading this content" as well.  Netflix is working great on my iPad so I tried to stream it using the Airplay and ended up with the same error.
Anyone called Netflix?  I'm on hold right now.  Odd's are they're going to blame Apple.

  • Netflix on Apple TV error loading this content

I'm watching Breaking Bad on Netflix but everytime I select an episode it gives me this "error loading this content please try again later" notification. And it happens on alternate episodes which is what makes it very weird. Like one episode works super fine, the next gets the above error and the episode after that is working like it never gave that error before. And my Apple TV is only a DAY old!
I've tried updating (**** long and didn't do ****) and restarting. I've tried signing out and logging in again. Nothing works. However, when I'm watching Criminal Minds nothing is wrong with all episodes! Is it particularly confined to Breaking Bad or is Netflix/Apple TV messing their coding and whatnot up?

Make sure DNS is set to ISPs (settings - general - network - DNS should be set to automatic). Trey rebooting ATV, and router. Make sure all are up to date.

  • Apple TV won't play purchased content

Apple TV 2 and Apple TV 3 - Software version 6.2.1 - same problem happening on both of my Apple TV devices.
I have almost full access to the iTunes store from both of my Apple TV devices.  I can access Netflix and I can make iTunes purchases of movies and songs, etc.  When I try to watch the movie I've purchased, it begins to load, goes to "authorizing" and then I get the message:  "iTunes is currently unavailable.  Try again later."  This has been happening since last weekend.  I talked to numerous representatives who really never helped and seemed to just try and placate me with a generic answer that would get me off their phone so that they could move on to a problem they COULD solve.  The last rep, who was supposed to be a higher level rep told me that a server was down and it would come back in 24-48 hours.  I didn't believe him when he said it and clearly that wasn't the problem since I am still having problems.  AGAIN TODAY I've tried everything I can think of including restarting over and over, reseting the Apple TV and finally restoring the Apple TV to factory settings, which seems to have disabled my iTunes account and required me to go to "iForgot" to reset my password.  I did all of this which took at least an hour of my time and in the end, I get the same error.  Over the years I have spent literally thousands of dollars on content that I cannot access.  I have read older issues where people have had similar problems but they usually get a few minutes into the movie before that happens.  I can't get the movie (or song, etc.) to even start to play.  I can get the movie to play from my iPad though.  I have reopened my case.  I am so frustrated right now because I have movies that I bought that I can't watch.  Any ideas??

I have been getting frustrated with this as well.
I purchase content on my iMac, download it to my HDD then normally access that content on my ATV via "Home Sharing." Prior to the iOS 8 and Yosemite updates to all of the devices, this scenario worked perfectly.
Ever since the updates have been installed, I have to reboot EVERYTHING (router, iMac, ATV) to get my iTunes library show up on the ATV, then after I watch a movie and come back to watch another, I have to reboot EVERYTHING again.
My fix has been to unplug the ATV and access my Ultraviolet movies on my PS3 until such time as Apple can come up with a proper fix. It's nice to have a device that works properly.

  • Can't watch purchased content on Apple TV-?

    Hi there,
I am an American living in Saudi Arabia. I have purchased my Apple TV from the United States when I was there last and it is the 2nd generation. I have updated the software to 5.1.1. I have a few accounts on my Apple TV, but I am unable to play any purchased content on it. Everytime I try to play a Movie or TV Show from one of the accounts in my family, it says "An error occured loading this content. Try again later". How can I fix this?
Streaming through Airplay from any device (iTouch, iPhone, or Macbook Pro) works just fine, but playing purchased content through Apple TV directly does not work. It shows all my purchased content, but it will not play any of it. My iTunes store location is set to United States, as all of our accounts in the family are US accounts.
Also, previewing Movies and TV Shows in the iTunes store works fine as well. Its only watching purchased content.
    Thank you!

    Hi
I doubt it's the new update, I don't know if this is an issue specific to AppleTV but if you can play on the laptop it would seem unlikely it's because the content is blocked due to your location.
Have you unplugged AppleTV and restarted since changing the settings?  This can sometimes help fix odd behaviour and quick to do.
Hopefully somone doing teh same thing will chime in to confirm it works in Saudi Arabia with US content.

  • Not able to watch purchased content on apple tv

I have been having issues with my apple tv for a few months now!
I get as far as the purchased tv show episode within the menu and when I hit play and it say "there is an error connecting to iTunes"
I cannot get the latest up date either.  I was having Internet connectivity issues, but moved my modem closer and now vevo and YouTube work, just not my purchased content.
It was also freezing up on me contuously, but I reset it and so far it's been ok.
    Is my hard drive pooched?

    Hello there, Orrshaw.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great trecommendations for troubleshooting issues with connectivity and your Apple TV:
Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation): Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4546
If you are unable to access or play content while connected to a Wi-Fi network
Restart your Apple TV: Choose Settings > General > Restart.
Verify that you are selecting the correct network if you are in a location with multiple Wi-Fi networks.
Check the IP address that Apple TV is using. If it starts with 169.x.x.x, the router may not be configured properly.
If the router is using DHCP addressing, verify that the router is not limiting the number of devices that can connect through Wi-Fi.
If the router is using manual IP addressing, you will need to configure Apple TV with a manual IP address. You can do this by selecting your network on the Apple TV and choosing Configure IP.
Disconnect and rejoin your Wi-Fi network by selecting your network on the Apple TV and then choosing Forget Network. Rejoin your Wi-Fi network after it disconnects.
Verify that your Wi-Fi router is not using security features that may restrict content or devices:
If your router has a built-in firewall, you may need to adjust your settings to provide access to common ports used for services. For more information, see Apple TV: TCP and UDP ports and protocols.
If you need to add the MAC address to the access list for the Wi-Fi router, the MAC address is listed as the Wi-Fi address in Settings > General > About.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware. For an AirPort Base Station, refer to this article for information about firmware updates. For third-party Wi-Fi routers, check the manufacturer's website for details on updating your firmware.
If possible, connect using Ethernet and verify that you can play content. If you are able to successfully play content using Ethernet, verify your Apple TV is using the latest software by choosing Settings > General > Software Update.
Note: When using a public or commercial network that requires a login or subscription, Apple TV may not be able to connect to the Internet. Check with the network administrator for assistance.
If you tried all of these steps and your Wi-Fi issues persist, contact Apple technical support or take your Apple TV to the nearest Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for diagnosis. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail Store, make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ (available in some countries only).
Note: Diagnostic fees may apply for issues not covered under warranty or the AppleCare Protection Plan (APP).
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • My computer crashed and once restored I could only sync purchased content. I dont want to lose my non-ITunes puchased content. What can I do?

My  computer crashed and once restored I could only sync "purchased content". I dont want to lose over 500 songs. My ITunes file now only contained the "purchased content" items. My Ipod Touch still contains all the original music. HELP!!  How can I download music from my IPod Touch and somehow get it into my computer (ITunes Lirbary)...... Can I down load my content to a computer that does not have ITunes installed?

See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different ways to copy content (including non-iTunes purchased content) from your iPod back to your PC.

  • Apple TV not playing purchased content. iTunes account Issue?

Like many others, I'm having issues getting Apple TV to play purchased content for a specific iTunes account. After hitting the play button, the movie or TV show thinks about it then reverts back to the information page.  This has been happening for just under a week.
I have two other accounts on my Apple TV, and they are both working OK. I asked another mate with an Apple TV to load my account onto his unit and he gets the same issue.
In an attempt to rectify the issue I have:
Reset my password fo itunes. No luck.
Restored the factory settings on the Apple TV. No luck.
Double check account and billing details. No Luck.
I really want to get this resolved. Can someone suggest a fix please!

    SOLVED.
I had the same problem minutes ago... I solved it by signing out my apple id from the apple tv and then sign in again. Movies start playing now! Hope this works for you too

  • ITunes connection reset for all purchased content - won't download!

    Hello,
I see many archived messages about this issue, however, it is a new problem for me.  I have until now been able to download entire Seasons of shows without an issue, without interruption.  Now, a single half-hour episode in standard definition fails.
Suddenly, any purchased content in iTunes - movies, TV shows, etc. - will not download into my Library, and I get a "network connection was reset" error.  I am running iTunes 11.1.5 on Mavericks.
Recently I purchased & installed MacKeeper.  I know it is a long shot, since this appears to be a network issue, but it is the only "change" introduced in recent weeks.
    Hoping you can assist.
    Thank you.
    Anne Mowat

Well, I am very doubtful the issue was ever ISP related - I am not on Comcast nor even on cable (fioptics phone). And several other threads show many different ISP's across the globe were involved! Hence Apple Support seems to have indeed been trying to offload the problem... especially in light of what happened to me today!
I just upgraded to iTunes 11.2 and OS X 10.9.3 with the same positive results as harrharr's post, with either or both updates fixing the problem!
I downloaded 3 large movie files (make that 5 as 2 more just finished as I edited this!), each about 1GB in size with "Allow simultaneous downloads" on. All files finished on their own!! I haven't even come close to these results this week with the last movie I downloaded Wed taking over 15 restarts to finish! Now, I could be off to a lucky Fri, AND it could be either the iTunes or OS X update that fixed it (installed both at the same time so can't determine which one did it). Either way, it appears to be fixed and as I suspected the problem was on the Apple side, not anything I did with my router or any change from my ISP. Fingers crossed!
That said, if it is fixed, shame on you iTunes and Apple Support! Why do you continue to either (1) be so out of touch with your own products (developers not sharing what they are fixing?) or (2) so secretive admitting something you have might be broken and you are working on a fix! So darn frustrating...
So try iTunes 11.2 and OS X 10.9.3 updates and see if it works for you too!
