Purchased Creative Cloud, deployed it, clicked "Install.pkg" and received "The Installation Failed" message.  What now?

Purchased Creative Cloud, deployed it, clicked "Install.pkg" and received "The Installation Failed" message.
I am installing on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8.
What now?

This is how we resolved it. Used a 32GB Flash Drive formatted the drive HFS+ and then copied the PKG folder and files and then brought them to the target Mac and copied the files over and ran the PKG and Exceptions install. Everything seems to be installing fine now.

    For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
    Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
    The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component, such as Apple Application Support, won't install normally.

    Please refer to the thread below where this issue is resolved:
    MAC: Creative Cloud - Download error - stubborn error
    WIN: Follow the steps below:
    1. Close Creative Cloud Application (up right corner, click on the cog menu and then "Quit Creative Cloud").
    2. Please navigate to C:Program files(X86)/Common files/Adobe folder.
    3. Rename the OOBE folder to OOBE.old
    4. Rename AAMupdaterInventory to AAMupdaterInventory.old
    5. Type appdata in the start menu search
         - What I had to do was go to C: > "MyUserName" > Appdata > local > adobe
    6. Rename the OOBE folder to OOBE.old
    7. Rename AAMupdater to AAMupdater.old
    8. Launch Creative Cloud Desktop
    9. Introduce CC credentials
    10. Select install/update applications

    photoshop cs6 extended (64bit) flashes black when clicking on canvas or on a layer. I can't get anything done, I have already uninstalled and reinstalled...  all other Creative Cloud apps work fine.
    I';m using windows 8.
    If anyone has any idea of what is going on or can help in any way, please let me know.

    That is a known bug in Windows 8. We're working with the GPU vendors and Microsoft to get it fixed.
    In the meantime you can set the Photoshop GPU mode to "Basic".
    If you have an AMD GPU, you probably want their 13.2 beta drivers.

  • Creative cloud licenses, forgot to deactivate one and formatted the drive.

    I recently put one of my creative cloud licenses on a Lenovo laptop. My other is on my MacBook which I use primarilly.
    My Lenovo was malfunctioning, so I took it in to exchange it and formatted the drive, not thinking that I should deactivate my applications.
    My question is, will I be able to use my second license now on my new computer?

    Also the process is different for subscription users so we can not just allocate an additional activation as can be done with our perpetual versions.

    After downloading and installing Photoshop CC for the first time on a 64-bit Windows 7.1 PC with 8GB of RAM, I received the message: "Installation Failed.Installation completed though some optional components failed to install correctly (6)."  What do I do now?  Photoshop 6 and Lightroom 5 are previously installed on this PC and I have been a PS user since PS7.

    You can try downloading the Mac version and using the serial number from the disc.  LR serial numbers are normally good for both platforms.

    I have used the cloud cleaner and downloaded creative cloud again and dreamweaver cc, I can open dreamweaver but its always in trial mode.
    When click on Licence Product and login using my Adobe ID, it then asks for the serial number.

    I first purchased Student and Teacher Edition Creative Cloud in August but due to the hacker incident here at Adobe, my credit card was annulled. Due to financial problems, my last payment was in October and eventually, my subscription expired.
    Now I'd like to renew my subscription as I now have a viable credit card but I simply cannot! I tried at least 8-10 times to purchase Creative Cloud / renew my subscription but I always got the same answer: they are unable to confirm my credit card.
    I tried this both on Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, and I also tried with my parents using my mother's credit card but that didn't work either. I also tried shutting down and restarting my computer.
    I'm still studying at the same school, that information hasn't changed. I'm from Finland.
