Purchased itunes music does not appear in itunes since reinstall

Its my wifes ipod, I had a fatal HD crash, had a recovery service retrieve all the data. As I am now rebuilding my pc again I did a fresh install of itunes, then replaced the itunes folder from the new instal on C:drive with the retrieved folder on an external drive. It seemed to populate all the nusic (68 G) but as I a looking through itunes the purchased music playlist is empty and I know She purchased a lot of music.. What do I do? Also should I be sure she does not auto synch before this issue is resolved>
Thanx
Dan

If you think all the music is there, you can sync to the ipod.
The purchased playlist is a smart playlist. Since you re-added the music to itunes, it just doesn't show them in the purchase playlist, but they are porbably still in the main itunes library.
You can make 2 smart playlists to find the files
Kind contains purchased (this will show itunes plus content)
Kind contains protected (this will show non-itunes plus content)

  • Music does not appear in iTunes after consolidation and xfer to E drive

I followed the instructions listed on the web site for xfer of the music to an external hard drive. After I did the consolidate portion, the music did not show/appear in the e drive folder created for the music. The music does not show in iTunes now. I have not deleted anything since I can't see music in the e drive folder.
I am currently copying the music from the older folder to the newer folder to see if this helps.
Where does the consolidated music go?
Can it be shown in iTunes at all now that it has been consolidated?
Will pod sync now since music does not appear in iTunes?
Any help or information would really be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Rather than move individual files you might want to move the whole collection:
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

  • I have iTunes ver 10 on a PC with Playlists which do not sync to ITouch or Nano (6th Gen). All the music does not appear and the playlists do not appear at all. I have selected to manually manage music on the sum tab

I have iTunes ver 10 on a PC with Playlists which do not sync to an Itouch or Nano (6th Gen). Also, all the music does not appear when I check entire library and there is enough memory on the device. When I select to manually manage music on the summary tab and selected playlists on the music tab nothing changes. Either way all the music isn't on either device and the playlists are not on either device. Please advise next steps. Thank you.

Connect the device to the computer.
In iTunes, select the content desired to sync.
    Sync.
This is all described in the User's Guide, reading it may be a good place to start.

  • When i sync my ipod touch (4gen), my music does not appear on my device? what is wrong?

when I sync my ipod touch (4gen), my music does not appear on my device. What went wrong?

    Hello,
The problem is that you just don't selected the music that you want to import.
You can do this by opening iTunes, search your ipod in the superior bar, select it, then will appear a screen showing the information of your ipod, you can check how many songs are in your ipod, if there says nothing so theres the problem. In the superior bar, select Music, then click on the box "Sync Music", now select the songs you want right down. And press "Sync" That should solve the problem.
    Cheers

  • Itunes music does not appear in purchased column

I purchased music on itunes, but it does not appear in the purchased column on my ipad.  Help

Does music appear as an option in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app ? Music can't be redownloaded in all countries, so it won't show for all countries.
If it shows but doesn't have all of your iTunes purchases, then have you changed countries since buying them (content is tied to the country, as well as the account), it's not hidden (hiding and unhiding), and it's still in your country's store (rights-holders can remove their content at any time) ? And have you tried logging out of your account (tap on your id at the bottom of the Music tab in the iTunes store app) and then logged back in to see if it then shows ?

  • Purchased music does not appear in library

I just purchased an album but it does not appear in my library. Thinking I screwed something up went back into store to purchase. When I clicked purchase a pop up said you have already purchased this do you want to purchase again, a pop up said you purchased this already do you want to purchase again? I clicked No. Where is my music?

All purchased items will be put in the "iTUnes Music" folder on the PC where you bought them and then added tot he green "Purchased" playlist.
When you add these files to a new PC/iTUnes library tho, there not automaticly added to the purchased playlist. So first search the itunes main music library for purchased items. If not listed search the PC by going to Start>Search in windows select "Files and folders" (Not music) and in the search field put ".M4P" and search the PC

  • Transfering Music from PC to Mac, but music does not appear.

I recently purchased a Macbook for personal use. I wanted to transfer my iTunes from my old Dell desktop onto the new Macbook. I followed the instructions on the Apple site to transfer music from an old computer to a new one using the iPod. Everything worked, until the finale step; I attempted to transfer the iTunes folder from the iPod to the music folder on the Macbook. It seemed to be working, but when I opened iTunes, the music was not there. I restarted the computer and still the music did not appear.
What should I do to fix this problem? Do I need to reformat my iPod from PC to Mac to transfer the music? On the instructions page, it did not say whether I needed to reformat the iPod or not, so I just followed the instructions. Please help if you can.

Yes, and the music trasferred, I can see it in the folder, but it's not displayed in iTunes.

  • HT1386 my ipad is not syncing my music correctly from my itunes account via my laptop. The music does not appear, although it shows when you look into summary as grayed out .

I carried out a recent software update and there after that my itunes music would not sync in the normal way. My music only shows on my ipad when connected and in music summary and this is shown as grayed out with a broken circle icon beside any new music which has been inported to my itunes account via my laptop. In the past when i connected my ipad to my laptop to sync it would ask if i wanted to transfer from ipad or not. This does not happen now at it goes straight into sync mode.

    Hi,
This sounds so frustrating. If any processing of sound, e.g. through Logic, through Wiretap, or you might try Garageband (which I assume you have tucked away somewhere), produces the problem, then its hard to blame the software of the individual program. This leaves OSX and/or Coreaudio, or a hardware problem. Sorry if you've already reached this stage. This would mean a reinstall of OSX (or an upgrade, if you're thinking of it), or addressing the hardware issue. I know I had some very bizarre things (and repetitive) happen to me with faulty memory, or memory that just wasn't seated properly in its slot. You could start out by running the hardware test and go from there.
    Good Luck,
    Ray

  • Purchased music does not appear in iTunes

I had to reinstall OS X on my computer, and when I updated iTunes, none of my purchased music was there.  That goes for a credit balance I have also.  When I check the info for my account, some previously purchased music is there, but not the most recent and the credit balance is still missing.  Have any ideas what I should do to correct this?  Thanks.

  • Music does not appear on the menu of ipod

The menu list on my ipod classic no longer includes music as one of the categories.  The menu list begins with Videos, Photos, Podcasts, Extras, Settings.  Wondering if I need to restore to factory settings.  Thanks!

Go into settings. Click on main menu. From there you can select what you want to show on the main menu.

  • ITunes Library does not appear when I open Itunes

I recently upgraded to the newest version if ITunes and now my music does not appear in the libray. I did not chnage the libary location at any time. Any suggestions?

the reference to the Apple memo did not work for me. I am not sure whether my identical problem was preceded by the Apple upgrade of iTunes, OR the back-up I did two days ago to an external drive.
In any event, the instructions did not match my hard drive configuration, so I just decided to restore iTunes via Time Machine. Now I have my library back!

  • Album art does not appear on Iphone 4S

    Hello Community,
I'm using Itunes match and the cloud between my macbook, Ipad 2, and Iphone 4S. Everything works as it's supposed to except for the fact that album art for some of my PURCHASED music does not appear on my Iphone. It displays on both my macbook and my Ipad, though. Very strange.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix it and/or stop this from reoccuring? At the end of the day, it's not a biggie (I really like how they all work together), but this is just a minor annoyance.
    Thanks all,
    JW

I think what you were trying to do was the "album artwork reset". It is done like this:
    1) connect iPod, uncheck "Display album artwork" in iTunes.
    2) disconnect iPod, exit iTunes.
    3) reconnect iPod, recheck Display artwork, and wait until it finishes "optimizing".
I think what I'd do is a Restore (use the Updater program). You'll have to reload all your music, but it'll refresh the iPod's directory, so it should all be good.
